Physically Defensive Kyogre is great in the AG metagame as it can counter and check many common Physical attackers such as Zygarde, Groudon, and Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM. Scald is a good STAB option as it hits hard in the rain and can threaten a burn on physical attackers. Sheer Cold threatens to OHKO almost everything in the metagame- barring ice types, and turns into a powerful 130 base power Max Hailstorm when Dynamax is active. Rest is Kyogres best recovery option that restores its health to full with the drawback of making it sleep for two turns, however, this will remove any status effect Kyogre previously had. Sleep Talk allows Kyogre to be not entirely passive during the sleep turns.

Pokemon that are weak to Ground-types like Necrozma-DM, Eternatus, Zacian-C, and Zekrom appriciate Kyogre being able to defensively answer Ground-types. Pokemon that tend to get crippled by status like Yveltal, Groudon, Ho-oh, and Kyurem-W appreciate Kyogre being able to shrug off said Status Conditions with rest. Kyogre is weak to Electric- and Grass-type moves so pairing it up with a resist to those types like Yveltal, Ho-oh, Zygarde, or Kyurem-W is good.

Checks and Counters
==================
**Ice-types**: Ice-types such as Kyurem-White, Lapras, and Kyurem-Black cannot get hit by Kyogres Sheer Cold and will threaten to KO it with Sheer Cold or Freeze Dry, Kyurem-B cannot switch into Kyogre without caution as it risks getting Scald burned but between Kyurem-W not caring about burns or Lapras being immune to Scald, they both freely switch into Kyogre.

**Strong Attacks**: With only having Leftovers and Rest for recovery, Strong attackers like Zacian-H, Choice Specs Calyrex-S, Offensive Eternatus, Zekrom, and Marshadow that will KO Kyogre while its sleeping and not give it an opportunity to Rest can very easily force Kyogre out or leave it at such a low health that it wont do anything for the remainder of the match.

Physically Defensive Kyogre is great in the AG metagame as it can counter and check many common Physical attckers such as Zygarde, Groudon, and Necrozma-DM. Scald is a good STAB option as it hits hard in rain and can threaten a burn on physical attackers, Sheer Cold can OHKO everything in the tier if you're lucky enough (Ice-types exist so reword this to mention common other counters like etern, ferro, bliss, etc while also talking about the whole tier that isn't Ice-types) and turns into a powerful 130 base power Max Hailstorm when dynamaxed. Rest lets you get your health back meanwhile Sleep Talk doesnt make you entirely passive after using rest. I think a quick mention of sleep talk also giving more chances to pull sheer cold helps a lot since 8 pp and 4 against etern can be quite easy to blow through if you're unlucky

Paragraph 2:
Pokemon that are weak to Ground-types like Necrozma-DM, Eternatus, Zacian-C, and Zekrom appriciate Kyogre being able to defensively answer Ground-types. Pokemon that tend to get crippled by status like Yveltal, Groudon, Ho-oh and Kyurem-W appriciate Kyogre being able to switch into and shrug off said Status Conditions (a few notable examples here would be good, like toxic etern, wisp lunala) with rest. Kyogre is weak to Electric- and Grass-type moves so pairing it up with a resist to those types like Yveltal, Ho-oh, Zygarde, or Kyurem-W is good. I'd add a mention of Zekrom checks, since these all just lose to it and with grass moves not really existing I think it's more important

**Kyurem-White** **Ice-types**: Kyurem-White resists your Scalds and is immune to Sheer Cold meanwhile threatening you out with Sheer Colds of its own or Freeze-Dry, not much you can do here. (I feel like with the addition of lapras to the vr it deserves a mention, kyurem b is also a more offensive check)

**Strong Attacks**: With only having Leftovers and Rest for recovery, Strong attackers like Zacian-HC, Specs Calyrex, and Marshadow that can KO it before it gets a chance to Rest again threaten Kyogre out and keep it from recovering. (Not sure if regular zacian needs a mention since while it can revenge kill ogre zacian crowned is much more common, maybe mentioning both forms could work)

According to the AG QC team this set is no longer really viable in the current metagame, so this analysis is getting locked.
