SS OU REUNICLUS + CHOICE BAND WEAVILE BULKY OFFENSE PEAK 1947 ELO ON SS OU LADDER. Ft. Offensive Buzzwole

:ss/Reuniclus: :ss/Weavile: :ss/Buzzwole: :ss/Heatran: :ss/Landorus-Therian: :ss/Tapu Fini:

New month, I bring you a new RMT, this one I use an underrated pick in my eyes, being Reuniclus. Fighting + Psychic coverage is incredible, being able to hit many types for super effective, and only one type resisting both, being Psychic. That is where Weavile comes into play, hitting hard on Psychic types. Weavile also appreciates Focus Blast being able to remove annoying Steels, like Ferrothorn and Flame Body Heatran.

TEAMBUILDING PROCESS:

:Reuniclus: :Weavile:
Reuniclus with Psyshock and Focus Blast can hit a lot of pokemon for super effective, and neutral, however, it cannot touch Psychic types. Weavile compliments Reuni perfectly, as it hits Psychic types hard. Weavile finds pokemon like Clefable, Ferrothorn and Heatran to be annoying, however, this is basically free setup for Reuni, unless the Heatran has taunt. This core compliments each other well, and is my starting point.

:Reuniclus: :Weavile: :Buzzwole:
Buzzwole was my next pick, I love offensive Buzzwole, as it can be a scary offensive threat, but can also still tank hits from non Aerial Ace Kartana, and Rillaboom. It goes really well with Reuni and Weavile, has Weavile loves having more steel removal, and can deal with walls for Buzzwole like Zapdos and Tornadus-Therian. Buzzwole also dislikes Clefable, which Reuni does an excellent job of dealing with.

:Reuniclus: :Weavile: :Buzzwole: :Heatran:
The special blanket of the team. Heatran is great defensively, as it can eat hits like Dragapult Shadow Ball, and Tapu Lele STABS with relative ease. It is the rocks setter for the team, and can deal with opposing Toxapex and Volcarona.

:Reuniclus: :Weavile: :Buzzwole: :Heatran: :Landorus-Therian:
Gotta have Landorus right? Provides Toxic and U turn, being decent supporting moves. I gave it Defog as we have Choice Band Weavile, and Heatran is setting rocks for us. I run the standard SpDef set, to help deal with Tapu Koko and such.

:Reuniclus: :Weavile: :Buzzwole: :Heatran: :Landorus-Therian: :Tapu Fini:
Lastly we have Tapu Fini. It is a decent physical wall for the team, dealing with Weavile, Urshifu and Buzzwole. The physical attackers it does not like, usually get walled by Buzzwole, like Kartana and Rillaboom, so I thought this would be a decent fit. I run the trap set, as it helps remove Toxapex, and Slow Twins, making it easier for Reuni, as Pex won't keep Hazing.

The Pokémon:

:ss/Reuniclus: :Colbur Berry:
Reuniclus @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Calm Mind
- Recover
Reuniclus was the main subject of the team. Generally you want it to be cleaning, but if necessary, you can use it to come in on things like Clefable or Zapdos (Defensive). I gave it Colbur as it let's it bait Weavile, so you can kill it. Missing Focus Blast does suck, but it lowers the opposing Weavile's Knock Off damage, making it not the worst scenario. I gave it evs in physical defense so it can set up on Landorus and non Leech Life Buzzwole. The 4 speed evs is so you outspeed Slowking Galar and the occasional Amoonguss.

:ss/Weavile: :Choice Band:
Weavile @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Poison Jab
Weavile as I mentioned before is a great partner for Reuni. Weavile is the main breaker for your team, letting Reuni clean up late game. I run Choice Band as I feel that's the better item as of right now, and Poison Jab is important for this team. I was originally gonna run Beat Up, but the teams low base attack made it not worth it, and Poison Jab helps with Fini, which can be a problematic matchup.

:ss/Buzzwole: :Heavy-Duty Boots:
Buzzwole @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 72 HP / 244 Atk / 192 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch
- Roost
Buzzwole is your secondary breaker, but also functions as a wall. The evs are to outspeed 241 speed, and 72 HP helps guarantee live a non critical hit Melmetal Double Iron Bash. I sacrifice 8 evs for that, but its very important. Close Combat is solid STAB, hitting things hard. The punches are great coverage options for Tapu Fini, Landorus, Garchomp, Toxapex etc. Roost is for instant recovery. Boots is the item as I don't want to be taking hazard damage as i'm an offensive Buzzwole.

:ss/Heatran: :Leftovers:
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 228 SpD / 28 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
Heatran eats special hits very well. I run the speed evs, as a lot of people run 24 speed evs, so I kinda wanted to be faster. Taunt is to help with trapping Toxapex and Volcarona. It sets up rocks, and earth power is the secondary move. You often want to keep Heatran healthy when fighting against Specs Blacephalon. Heatran is usually not very expendible, so try to keep it alive.

:ss/Landorus-Therian: :Leftovers:
Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Defog
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Toxic
Landorus is hazard removal for the team, which is important because Choice Band Weavile. Generally you want to keep Landorus healthy against Zeraora and Tapu Koko. Against Zeraora, try to have Buzzwole take the Knock Off (Unless it's a super hazard heavy team) so you don't lose your item right away. U turn and Earthquake are essential, and Toxic helps cripple opposing walls like opposing Landorus-Therian, Tangrowth, Hippowdon, Slowbro etc.

:ss/Tapu Fini: :Leftovers:
Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Whirlpool
- Moonblast
- Nature's Madness
- Taunt
Tapu Fini is great for this team. It will be your go to switch in vs Weavile and Urshifu. Make sure you Knock Off with Weavile if you are against Shed Shell Toxapex. Taunt is there to help trapping, and Moonblast for STAB. Try to avoid coming in on Heatran if possible, as Whirlpool can't threaten it very hard. Similar to Landorus, if you are against Weavile, try to have Buzzwole to take the hit from Knock Off (Unless hazard heavy team), as Fini has no instant recovery.

Threats:
:ss/Melmetal:
Probably the biggest threat to the team, as Buzzwole is offensive, and Heatran dies to EQ. Buzzwole does heavy damage to Melmetal though, and can almost OHKO, just a little bit of chip is needed. Heatran can come in but must fear of Earthquake and Superpower. It's difficult but not unwinnable.

:ss/Nidoking:
Once again, this team gets bodied hard by Nidoking, however, Reuni at +1 eats it's hits pretty easily, and Weavile can beat it offensively. Try to keep those 2 healthy in this matchup.

:ss/Blacephalon:
Scarf is walled pretty well by Heatran, but specs is a different story. Heatran does not get 2HKOd, but it takes a lot of damage from Shadow Ball. Try to keep Heatran healthy in this matchup.

:ss/Volcanion:
Volcanions STABS are difficult to switch into, and Fini hates Sludge Bomb. Reuni at +1 can eat non Specs hits pretty easily, so that is important to note. While Reuni can't come in, it can set up on non specs. If a bit of chip is dealt, then Weavile can knock it out. Buzzwole is faster than Modest but you still have to worry if it's timid. Difficult matchup but you definitely can win.

:ss/Arctozolt:
This guy can be annoying, as Heatran is SpDef. However Buzzwole lives Blizzard and can KO back, not making this the worst matchup. Keeping Buzzwole healthy is important in this matchup.

:ss/Barraskewda:
Barraskewda is difficult, as Tapu Fini isn't Calm Mind. Buzzwole eats a hit from Liquidation and can KO. Reuni lives, but must be boosted to OHKO. Keeping Buzzwole and Fini healthy is important in this matchup.

:ss/Zapdos-Galar:
Lastly Gapdos. Our team has no resist to its STABS. Keeping Fini healthy is very important in this matchup. Weavile can KO non Scarfed. Reuni lives a hit from Banded and hits hard back with Psyshock, it won't kill unless dealt a little bit of chip. Difficult matchup but winnable.

Ayeee nice team and congrats on the peak!

I feel like Fini should be on the threat list, as it can be very annoying once Reuniclus is defeated as that's almost the only check to Fini.

Looks sweet! I feel that Buzzwole almost always requires Future Sight support of some kind, but often enough it fits in most teams without it. Great Build, always love seeing Reun in something other than stall.

Love to see a good Reuniclus team, will definitely give this one a go myself. One change I'd suggest is giving the Reuniclus a bit of speed to creep Toxapex, as physically defensive Pex isn't 2hko'd by unboosted Psyshock and while it can't threaten you back, it can sit on you Hazing and Recovering, wasting a lot of Psyshock and Calm Mind PP.

Reuniclus @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Calm Mind
- Recover

44 Speed EVs is enough to outrun uninvested Toxapex

Just curious, why Psyshock over Psychic? You already have Focus Blast, which is admittedly not very accurate, but it still hits things like Blissey and Chansey hard when boosted. Most of the other targets you intend on hitting with Psyshock have higher Def than Spd, which gives you more reason to run Psychic. I could be missing something, though.
