UU Reuniclus

:ss/reuniclus:

[OVERVIEW]

With amazing HP and Special Defense stats, an excellent ability in Regenerator, and solid coverage moves, Reuniclus is one of the best special tanks in the tier, capable of checking foes such as Nidoking and Keldeo. Additionally, Reuniclus's powerful Future Sight allows it to support many top-tier threats such as Mienshao and Mamoswine. However, Reuniclus faces heavy competition from other Psychic-types and defensive Pokemon in the tier. Despite access to Knock Off and superior special bulk, Galarian Slowbro's Toxic immunity and Fire-type coverage to beat Steel-types often make it the superior choice, while Chansey is better at preserving momentum thanks to Teleport. Reuniclus is also very vulnerable to Knock Off from Pokemon it switches into, such as Nihilego and Azelf.

[SET]
name: Assault Vest
move 1: Psyshock
move 2: Future Sight
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Shadow Ball / Knock Off
item: Assault Vest
ability: Regenerator
nature: Modest
evs: 248 HP / 20 SpA / 240 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

Psyshock is used over Psychic to hit Chansey harder, OHKO Nihilego, and threaten Calm Mind users such as Primarina. Future Sight pressures the opposing team and forces switches that Reuniclus and its teammates can easily exploit. Focus Blast allows Reuniclus to hit Dark- and Steel-types coming in on a Future Sight such as Krookodile, Zarude, and Cobalion super effectively. Shadow Ball lets Reuniclus hit Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Aegislash, Galarian Slowbro, and Hatterene. Knock Off can be used to remove items, letting Reuniclus pressure walls such as Tangrowth and Celesteela. It also gives Reuniclus another way to deal with Chansey by removing its Eviolite and still hits Ghost- and Psychic-types. Assault Vest greatly improves on Reuniclus's special bulk, allowing it to switch in on powerful hits such as Primarina's Moonblast and Salamence's Hurricane. 20 Special Attack EVs allow Reuniclus's Focus Blast to OHKO Krookodile after Stealth Rock damage.

Reuniclus is best used on balance and bulky offense teams as a defensive pivot that checks Pokemon such as Salamence and Keldeo. Wallbreakers such as Mienshao and Mamoswine greatly appreciate Reuniclus's presence, as its Future Sight discourages their checks, such as Buzzwole, from switching in against them. In return, these wallbreakers can remove Dark-types such as Umbreon and Galarian Moltres. Reuniclus is very susceptible to Knock Off, so Knock Off absorbers such as Cobalion and Buzzwole are valued as partners. These Pokemon can also check Dark-types such as Zarude and Krookodile. Dark-types such as Krookodile and Obstagoon make great partners, as they can deal with Aegislash, a Pokemon that Reuniclus greatly struggles against. Entry hazard removers such as Salamence and Tentacruel prevent Regenerator's recovery from being cancelled out, letting Reuniclus switch in and out more reliably. Other Regenerator users such as Amoonguss and Tangrowth, can form a Regenerator core with Reuniclus, tank physical hits, and switch into Knock Off.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Reuniclus can run a physically defensive Calm Mind set with Magic Guard to turn it into a deadly setup sweeper, but it has trouble picking between Focus Blast to hit Dark-types and Shadow Ball to hit Aegislash, making other Calm Mind users like Hatterene and Galarian Slowbro, which don't struggle with their coverage as much, better options. A Trick Room set with Life Orb can be used to threaten offensive teams while negating Reuniclus's poor Speed, but this set is mediocre can't fit Recover or Regenerator, which causes it to lack defensive utility.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types and Dark-type Coverage**: Zarude, Krookodile, and Galarian Moltres can all easily outspeed Reuniclus and threaten it with their STAB attacks, though the former two do not like switching into a Focus Blast. Other Pokemon like Nihilego and Azelf can use Knock Off against Reuniclus, which both damages it greatly and removes its Assault Vest.

**Ghost-types**: Aegislash and Chandelure can easily take out Reuniclus with their STAB attacks, though both of them fear Shadow Ball.

**Steel-types**: Celesteela and Jirachi resist Reuniclus's STAB attacks and can easily force it out, but the latter does not like taking a Shadow Ball, and neither enjoys getting its item removed by Knock Off.

**Physical Wallbreakers**: Pokemon such as Lycanroc-D, Azumarill, and Entei can hit Reuniclus hard on its weaker defensive side and overwhelm it more easily.

[OVERVIEW]

  • With amazing HP and Special Attack stats, two excellent abilities in Magic Guard and Regenerator, and solid coverage moves, Reuniclus carves a niche as one of the best Psychic types in the tier. (I don't think being a Psychic-type is a niche, replace with something like "best special tanks", as a tank is defined as "A Pokemon intended to take either physical or special attacks and hit back..." by the dictionary.)
  • Its solid special bulk, which becomes especially good when given an Assault Vest, allows it to check many of the tier's special attackers, such as Nidoking and Keldeo, with ease.
  • However, Reuniclus is very slow, which results in it taking hits and forcing it to switch out more often. (I'm less certain about this but I figured I'd include it anyway to leave it to your judgement, but this feels kinda obvious
  • Many Pokemon that Reuniclus is supposed to be able to counter, such as Mienshao and Thundurus, have coverage moves that can easily take it out like Knock Off and U-turn, which greatly limits Reuniclus.
  • Reuniclus also faces competition from many other Psychic-types in the tier, such as Galarian Slowbro and Azelf. Galarian Slowbro is especially strong competition as another defensive pivot, as well as having a better typing and stronger coverage.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
  • Psyshock is used as the main STAB move over Psychic to allow Reuniclus to hit Chansey, as well as damage Nidoqueen (Replace with Nidoking; Nidoqueen has become significantly less relevant with Nidoking around) more.
  • Future Sight allows Reuniclus to put pressure onto the opposing team, forcing them to make switches that Reuniclus can easily exploit.
  • Focus Blast allows Reuniclus to hit Dark-types such as Obstagoon and Zarude, as well as Steel-types such as Cobalion.
  • Shadow Ball lets Reuniclus hit Ghost-types and Psychic-types, such as Aegislash, Galarian Slowbro, and Polteageist. (Not really seen that often, and my first option against Polteageist wouldn't be to go Reuniclus)
  • Knock Off can be used to remove items, letting Reuniclus pressure walls such as Celesteela and Rhyperior. It also acts as another method of hitting Ghost- and Psychic-types. (Imo mention Chansey here and another special wall in the first sentence, Chansey losing Eviolite is much worse then Celes losing Leftovers)
  • Assault Vest greatly improves on Reuniclus's special bulk, allowing it to switch in on powerful hits such as Primarina's Moonblast and Thundurus's Thunderbolt.
  • Regenerator lets Reuniclus recover some health every time it switches out, which helps it greatly as a defensive pivot and increases its longevity.
  • 24 SpA EVs and a Modest nature are used to increase the chances of Psyshock OHKOing Nidoking.
Paragraph 2
  • Reuniclus is best used on balance and bulky offense teams as a defensive pivot.
  • Wallbreakers such as Nidoking, Mienshao, and Mamoswine greatly appreciate Reuniclus's presence, as its Future Sight makes it much easier for them to chip down checks such as Buzzwole.
  • Reuniclus is very suspectible susceptible to Knock Off, as it removes its Assault Vest, which it relies on to tank powerful special attackshits. Because of this, Knock Off absorbers such as Cobalion, Buzzwole, and Umbreon (I can't really see Umbreon appearing on a Bulky Offence team) and valued as partners.
  • Dark-types such as Krookodile and Obstagoon make great partners for Reuniclus as they can deal with Aegislash, a Pokemon that Reuniclus greatly suffers against.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • A Calm Mind set with Magic Guard as the ability, a Bold nature, 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA EVs, and a moveset of Calm Mind / Psyshock / Focus Blast or Shadow Ball / Recover can be used to turn Reuniclus into a deadly set-up sweeper while still keeping a good form of recovery, but this set suffers from 4MSS and is much less consistent compared to the Assault Vest set.
  • A Life Orb set can be used on Trick Room teams to take advantage of Reuniclus's low Speed and turn it into a terrifying wallbreaker, but Trick Room teams are not that viable, subsequently limiting the viability of this set.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Zarude, Krookodile, and Obstagoon can all easily outspeed Reuniclus and KO it with their STAB attacks. The latter two also use Knock Off as their main STAB move, so even if Reuniclus somehow survives the attack, its Assault Vest will be removed, which greatly limits it.

**Ghost-types**: Aegislash and Chandelure can both take out Reuniclus easily with their STAB attacks, though both of them (especially the latter) fear taking a Shadow Ball.

**Steel-types**: Celesteela and Jirachi both resist Reuniclus's STAB attacks and can easily force it out, though the latter does not like taking a Shadow Ball.

**Physical attackers**: Pokemon such as Lycanroc-D, Azumarill, and Entei can hit Reuniclus hard on its weaker defensive side, causing it to take large amounts of damage and severely damage Reuniclus, forcing it to switch out more often. (Rephrased)

  • With amazing HP and Special Attack stats, an excellent ability in Regenerator, and solid coverage moves, Reuniclus carves a niche as one of the best special tanks in the tier.
  • Its solid special bulk, which becomes especially good when given an Assault Vest, allows it to check many of the tier's special attackers, such as Nidoking and Keldeo, with ease. (Condense this point with the first because both its special attack and bulk are what help Reuniclus carve out a niche as a special tank)

  • However, Reuniclus is very slow, which results in it taking hits and getting forced out by wallbreakers such as Crawdaunt and Aegislash.
  • Many Pokemon that Reuniclus is supposed to be able to counter, such as Nihilego and Thundurus, have coverage moves that can easily cripple it like Knock Off, which greatly limits Reuniclus.
  • Reuniclus also faces competition from many other Psychic-types in the tier, particularly Galarian Slowbro, another defensive pivot that is immune to Toxic and can pressure Steel-types better with Flamethrower. (make note that Reuniclus has the upper hand against opposing AV Bro with Knock Off removing its Assault Vest and better special bulk that lets it eat Keldeo's Hydro Pump better)
  • Note that you also face competition with Chansey as special pivot for its ability to gain momentum with Teleport

[SET]

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
  • Psyshock is used as the main STAB move over Psychic to allow Reuniclus to hit Chansey, damage Nidoking more, and threaten Calm Mind users such as Primarina.
  • Future Sight allows Reuniclus to put pressure onto the opposing team, forcing them to make switches that Reuniclus and its teammates can easily exploit.
  • Focus Blast allows Reuniclus to hit Dark-types coming in on a Future Sight such as Krookodile and Zarude super effectively, as well as Steel-types such as Cobalion.
  • Shadow Ball lets Reuniclus hit Ghost-types and Psychic-types, such as Aegislash, Galarian Slowbro, and Hatterene.
  • Knock Off can be used to remove items, letting Reuniclus pressure walls such as Tangrowth and Celesteela. It also gives Reuniclus another way to deal with Chansey by removing its Eviolite, and acts as another method of hitting Ghost- and Psychic-types.
  • Assault Vest greatly improves on Reuniclus's special bulk, allowing it to switch in on powerful hits such as Primarina's Moonblast and Thundurus's Thunderbolt. (I don't really like the idea of writing about switching into specific attacks because there's not always a guarantee they're gonna spam that move. Just state that Assault Vest helps Reuniclus better check special attackers like Primarina because you generally handle that well, but find a better example over Thundurus like Salamence because you still don't like the subsequent U-turn or Knock Off. I wouldn't use Thundurus-T because you can get 2HKOed by Thunderbolt if they Nasty Plot on the switch)
  • Regenerator lets Reuniclus recover some health every time it switches out, which helps it greatly as a defensive pivot and increases its longevity.
  • 24 SpA EVs and a Modest nature are used to give Psyshock a 75% chance of OHKOing Nidoking. (I don't think this is worth investing into because you heal off Modest Nidoking's Sludge Wave completely with Regenerator with a fully specially defensive spread. The additional chance to OHKO Nidoking won't matter anyways when you already beat it.)
  • 252+ SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoking Sludge Wave vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Reuniclus: 117-138 (27.6 - 32.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO, Regenerator heals off the damage.

Paragraph 2
  • Reuniclus is best used on balance and bulky offense teams as a defensive pivot. (Make note of what mons it pivots into such as Salamence, and its ability to scout what move Choice Specs Keldeo will lock into)
  • Wallbreakers such as Mienshao, and Mamoswine greatly appreciate Reuniclus's presence, as its Future Sight makes it much easier for them to chip down checks such as Buzzwole. In return, these wallbreakers can remove Dark-types such as Umbreon and Galarian Moltres respectively for Reuniclus.
  • Reuniclus is very susceptible to Knock Off, so Knock Off absorbers such as Cobalion and Buzzwole are valued as partners. These Pokemon can also check Dark-types such as Krookodile and Zarude for Reuniclus. (Amoonguss would also be a good example)
  • Dark-types such as Krookodile and Obstagoon make great partners for Reuniclus as they can deal with Aegislash, a Pokemon that Reuniclus greatly struggles against.
  • Entry hazard removers, such as Salamence and Tentacruel, make good partners as they can remove entry hazards, which chip Reuniclus greatly and force it to switch out more often.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

(this is a really jumbled point, just say something along the likes of "Reuniclus can run a physically defensive Calm Mind set with Magic Guard to turn it into a deadly setup sweeper, but has trouble deciding on moves after the requisite Calm Mind and Recover". Make mentions of Hatterene and Galarian Slowbro as more consistent Calm Mind users while you're at it)
  • A Life Orb set can be used on Trick Room teams to take advantage of Reuniclus's low Speed and turn it into a terrifying wallbreaker, but Trick Room teams are not that viable, subsequently limiting the viability of this set.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types and Dark-type coverage**: Zarude, Krookodile, and Galarian Moltres can all easily outspeed Reuniclus and KO it with their STAB attacks. (mention that the former two are at risk of switching into a focus blast) Other Pokemon like Nihilego and Thundurus can also use Knock Off against Reuniclus, which both damages it greatly and removes its Assault Vest.

**Ghost-types**: Aegislash and Chandelure can both take out Reuniclus easily with their STAB attacks, though both of them (especially the latter) fear taking a Shadow Ball.

**Steel-types**: Celesteela and Jirachi both resist Reuniclus's STAB attacks and can easily force it out, though the latter does not like taking a Shadow Ball, and neither enjoy getting their items removed by Knock Off.

**Physical attackers wallbreakers**: Pokemon such as Lycanroc-D, Azumarill, and Entei can hit Reuniclus hard on its weaker defensive side, causing it to take large amounts of damage and forcing it to switch out more often.

(make note that Reuniclus has the upper hand against opposing AV Bro with Knock Off removing its Assault Vest and better special bulk that lets it eat Keldeo's Hydro Pump better)

Paragraph 1
  • Psyshock is used as the main STAB move over Psychic to allow Reuniclus to hit Chansey, damage Nidoking more, and threaten Calm Mind users such as Primarina. You don't even do more damage to Nidoking, you do less. It is for OHKOing Nihilego.
20 SpA lets you OHKO Krookodile with Focus Blast after SR. Use that as the reasoning for the spread

Future Sight prevents Buzzwole from coming in entirely so they can wallbreak more easily. This should be reworded a bit to reflect that.
(Amoonguss would also be a good example) You can leave it as these two but swap the krook and zarude mentions around to reflect buzz being the krook check

=============

(this is a really jumbled point, just say something along the likes of "Reuniclus can run a physically defensive Calm Mind set with Magic Guard to turn it into a deadly setup sweeper, but has trouble deciding on moves after the requisite Calm Mind and Recover". Make mentions of Hatterene and Galarian Slowbro as more consistent Calm Mind users while you're at it) I'd also specifically state that without Focus Blast it loses to Dark-types and without Shadow Ball it loses to Aegislash, you can then use this to lead into how Hatt and Glowbro are more effective CM sweepers as they don't have this issue.
  • A Life Orb set can be used on Trick Room teams to take advantage of Reuniclus's low Speed and turn it into a terrifying wallbreaker, but Trick Room teams are not that viable, subsequently limiting the viability of this set. I would reword this to say it can run an OTR set with Life Orb and supporting itself with Trick Room, which can make it a scary threat for most offensive teams. You can mention the downside being it lacks a lot of defensive merit with the inability to fit Recover.

Checks and Counters
===================

[OVERVIEW]

With amazing HP and Special Attack stats, an excellent ability in Regenerator, and solid coverage moves, Reuniclus carves a niche as one of the best special tanks in the tier, capable of checking many of the tier's special attackers, such as Nidoking and Keldeo, with ease when equipped with an Assault Vest. The funky thing about this opening sentence is that you cite Reuni's high SpA stat, but the crux of it is stating that it's a premier "special tank". Probably better to either highlight its SpD instead, or to add a phrase that indicates that its SpA lets it retain offensive presence. Reuniclus's powerful Future Sight allows it to provide support to many top tier threats, such as Mienshao and Mamoswine, who appreciate the pressure that its Future Sight applies to its foes. However, Reuniclus is very slow, which results in it taking hits and getting forced out by wallbreakers such as Crawdaunt and Aegislash. Many Pokemon that Reuniclus is supposed to be able to counter, such as Nihilego and Thundurus carry Knock Off, which greatly limits Reuniclus. Reuniclus also faces competition from many other Psychic-types in the tier, particularly Galarian Slowbro, another defensive pivot that is immune to Toxic and can pressure Steel-types better with Flamethrower. It is worth noting, however, that Reuniclus has a good matchup against opposing Galarian Slowbro, with access to Knock Off to remove its Assault Vest. It's good to point out knock off here, but I think it should just be a point about how Knock Off generally gives it a niche, not about the Reuniclus vs GBRO matchup (pretty niche). It also has better special bulk for dealing with Keldeo. As a special pivot, Reuniclus also faces competition with Chansey, which can use Teleport to build up momentum. Re-order this near the GBRO sentence so that "here are things that give it competition" are grouped together, followed by "this is what reuniclus has that give sit a niche".

[SET COMMENTS]

Psyshock is used as the main STAB move over Psychic to allow Reuniclus to hit Chansey, OHKO Nihilego, and threaten Calm Mind users such as Primarina. Chansey takes like 24% from shock (same as blast), so it's not really super relevant for that. The main perks are for CMers and Nihi. Future Sight allows Reuniclus to put pressure onto the opposing team, forcing them to make switches that Reuniclus and its teammates can easily exploit. Focus Blast allows Reuniclus to hit Dark-types coming in on a Future Sight such as Krookodile and Zarude super effectively, as well as Steel-types such as Cobalion. Shadow Ball lets Reuniclus hit Ghost-types and Psychic-types, such as Aegislash, Galarian Slowbro, and Hatterene. Knock Off can be used to remove items, letting Reuniclus pressure walls such as Tangrowth and Celesteela. It also gives Reuniclus another way to deal with Chansey by removing its Eviolite, and acts as another method of hitting Ghost- and Psychic-types. Assault Vest greatly improves on Reuniclus's special bulk, allowing it to switch in on powerful hits such as Primarina's Moonblast and Salamence's Hurricane. Regenerator lets Reuniclus recover some health every time it switches out, which helps it greatly as a defensive pivot and increases its longevity. 20 SpA EVs allow Reuniclus's Focus Blast to OHKO Krookodile after Stealth Rock damage.

Reuniclus is best used on balance and bulky offense teams as a defensive pivot that can check Pokemon such as Salamence and Keldeo. Wallbreakers such as Mienshao and Mamoswine greatly appreciate Reuniclus's presence, as its Future Sight discourages their checks, such as Buzzwole from switching in against them, thus making it much easier for these Pokemon to wallbreak. In return, these wallbreakers can remove Dark-types such as Umbreon and Galarian Moltres respectively for Reuniclus. Reuniclus is very susceptible to Knock Off, so Knock Off absorbers such as Cobalion and Buzzwole are valued as partners. Dark-types such as Krookodile and Obstagoon make great partners for Reuniclus as they can deal with Aegislash, a Pokemon that Reuniclus greatly struggles against. Entry hazard removers, such as Salamence and Tentacruel, make good partners as they can remove entry hazards, which chip Reuniclus greatly and force it to switch out more often. Add in a sentence about pairing with other Regen users like Tang / Amoong who can take hits on the physical side, switch into knock, and form a regen core.

Reuniclus can run a physically defensive Calm Mind set with Magic Guard to turn it into a deadly setup sweeper, but has trouble deciding on moves after the requisite Calm Mind and Recover. It also struggles to deal with Dark-types and Aegislash without Focus Blast and Shadow Ball respectively, and thus faces strong competition from other Calm Mind users, such as Hatterene and Galarian Slowbro. that don't suffer from this issue. An OTR set with Life Orb can be used to threaten offensive teams while allowing Reuniclus to support itself with Trick Room, but this set can't fit Recover or Regenerator, which causes it to lack defensive utility.

Don't love the grouping of "dark-types and dark-type coverage", because it's really just knock off that you're talking about. Don't feel too strongly either way, but could justify its own bullet.

**Ghost-types**: Aegislash and Chandelure can both take out Reuniclus easily with their STAB attacks, though both of them (especially the latter) fear taking a Shadow Ball. Aegislash fears a shadow ball almost as much because it's always taking it in blade form. remove the parenthetical.

**Steel-types**: Celesteela and Jirachi both resist Reuniclus's STAB attacks and can easily force it out, though the latter does not like taking a Shadow Ball, and neither enjoy getting their items removed by Knock Off.

[OVERVIEW]

With amazing HP and Special Defense stats, an excellent ability in Regenerator, and solid coverage moves, Reuniclus is one of the best special tanks in the tier, capable of checking many of the tier's special attackers, foes such as Nidoking and Keldeo. Additionally, Reuniclus's powerful Future Sight allows it to support many top-tier threats such as Mienshao and Mamoswine. However, Reuniclus faces heavy competition from other Psychic-types iand and defensive pivots in the tier, particularly Galarian Slowbro, another defensive pivot that is immune to Toxic and can pressure Steel-types better with Flamethrower. As a defensive pivot, Reuniclus also faces competition with Chansey, which can use Teleport to build up momentum. Many Pokemon that Reuniclus is supposed to counter, such as Nihilego and Thundurus, carry Knock Off. Reuniclus's advantage is its own Knock Off, which improves its matchup against other walls, including the aforementioned Galarian Slowbro and Chansey. It also has better special bulk than Galarian Slowbro for dealing with Keldeo Pokemon in the tier. Despite access to Knock Off and superior special bulk, Galarian Slowbro's Toxic immunity and Fire-type coverage to beat Steel-types often make it the superior choice, while Chansey is better at preserving momentum thanks to Teleport. Reuniclus is also very vulnerable to Knock Off from Pokemon it switches into, such as Nihilego. (I rewrote this portion of the Overview because it was organized pretty weirdly. Also, there was a regular Thundurus mention in here that may need addressing given its ban, as this last list now only has one element. Kind of awkward.)

[SET COMMENTS]

Psyshock is used as the main STAB move over Psychic to hit Chansey harder, OHKO Nihilego, and threaten Calm Mind users such as Primarina. Future Sight allows Reuniclus to put pressure onto pressures the opposing team (remove comma) forcing them to make and forces switches that Reuniclus and its teammates can easily exploit. Focus Blast allows Reuniclus to hit Dark- and Steel-types coming in on a Future Sight such as Krookodile, Zarude,(comma) and Cobalion super effectively. Shadow Ball lets Reuniclus hit Ghost- and Psychic-types (remove comma) such as Aegislash, Galarian Slowbro, and Hatterene. Knock Off can be used to remove items, letting Reuniclus pressure walls such as Tangrowth and Celesteela. It also gives Reuniclus another way to deal with Chansey by removing its Eviolite (remove comma) and acts as another method of hitting still hits Ghost- and Psychic-types. Assault Vest greatly improves on Reuniclus's special bulk, allowing it to switch in on powerful hits such as Primarina's Moonblast and Salamence's Hurricane. Regenerator lets Reuniclus recover some health every time it switches out, which helps it greatly as a defensive pivot.(Surely something else would be more useful to say here? People know what Regenerator does in this general sense already.) 20 Special Attack EVs allow Reuniclus's Focus Blast to OHKO Krookodile after Stealth Rock damage.

In return, these wallbreakers can remove Dark-types such as Umbreon and Galarian Moltres respectively for Reuniclus. Reuniclus is very susceptible to Knock Off, so Knock Off absorbers such as Cobalion and Buzzwole are valued as partners. These Pokemon can also check Dark-types such as Zarude and Krookodile for Reuniclus. Dark-types such as Krookodile and Obstagoon make great partners,(comma) for Reuniclus as they can deal with Aegislash, a Pokemon that Reuniclus greatly struggles against. Entry hazard removers, such as Salamence and Tentacruel, make good partners as they can remove entry hazards, which chip Reuniclus \and force it to switch out more often such as Salamence and Tentacruel prevent Regenerator's recovery from being cancelled out, letting Reuniclus switch in and out more reliably. Other Regenerator users (remove comma) such as Amoonguss and Tangrowth, can form a Regenerator core with Reuniclus, tanking tank physical hits,(comma) and switching switch into Knock Off.

Other Options
=============

Reuniclus can run a physically defensive Calm Mind set with Magic Guard to turn it into a deadly setup sweeper, but it has trouble deciding on moves after the requisite Calm Mind and Recover. It also struggles to deal with Dark-types and Aegislash without Focus Blast and Shadow Ball respectively, and thus faces strong competition from other Calm Mind users, such as Hatterene and Galarian Slowbro that don't suffer from this issue. picking between Focus Blast to hit Dark-types and Shadow Ball to hit Aegislash, making other Calm Mind users like Hatterene and Galarian Slowbro, which don't struggle with their coverage as much, better options. A Trick Room set with Life Orb can be used to threaten offensive teams while allowing Reuniclus to support itself with Trick Room negating Reuniclus's poor Speed, but this set is mediocre and can't fit Recover or Regenerator, which causes it to lack defensive utility.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types and Dark-type Coverage**: Zarude, Krookodile, and Galarian Moltres can all easily outspeed Reuniclus and threaten it with their STAB attacks, though the former two do not like switching into a Focus Blast. Other Pokemon like Nihilego and Thundurus can also use Knock Off against Reuniclus, which both damages it greatly and removes its Assault Vest.

**Ghost-types**: Aegislash and Chandelure can both easily take out Reuniclus easily with their STAB attacks, though both of them fear Shadow Ball.

**Steel-types**: Celesteela and Jirachi both resist Reuniclus's STAB attacks and can easily force it out, though but the latter does not like taking a Shadow Ball, and neither enjoy enjoys getting their items its item removed by Knock Off.

**Physical Wallbreakers**: Pokemon such as Lycanroc-D, Azumarill, and Entei can hit Reuniclus hard on its weaker defensive side, causing it to take large amounts of damage and forcing it to switch out more often and overwhelm it more easily.
