ability: Magic Guard
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Magic Guard alongside Calm Mind and great physical bulk allows Reuniclus to function as an effective wincon. It is able to use common defensive Pokemon such as Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Corviknight as setup fodder, which is an amazing trait for the balance teams it finds itself on. Focus Blast complements Psyshock nicely, demolishing Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Heatran, and Ferrothorn. Fightinium Z avoids the risk of missing Focus Blast on Tyranitar, Mega Tyranitar, and Taunt Heatran. Alternatively, Stored Power can be utilized alongside Thunder to have a better matchup against stall, as Mega Sableye cannot take a boosted Thunder and Unaware users falter to Stored Power's scaling Base Power. Thunder alongside Electrium Z nails Slowking and Toxapex. Thunder is also able to spread paralysis, but it does not hit Dark-types, which leaves Reuniclus more vulnerable to Pursuit. Magic Guard gives Reuniclus an immunity to entry hazards and sand, making it very difficult to wear down and a great switch-in to Toxapex. 44 Speed allows Reuniclus to outspeed and beat Haze Toxapex. The remaining EVs are placed into Defense with a Bold nature to allow Reuniclus to set up in the face of strong physical attackers such as Mega Medicham and Mega Lopunny.

Reuniclus appreciates entry hazard support from partners like Clefable, Mega Tyranitar, Ash-Greninja, and Ferrothorn to wear down the few natural checks that it has, such as Weavile, Tyranitar, and Mega Tyranitar. In particular, Reuniclus appreciates Toxic Spikes support from Toxapex to swiftly wear down opposing Pokemon, which allows it to clean up weakened teams late-game. Due to Reuniclus's inability to touch Mega Sableye as well as bad matchup against Aegislash, teammates such as Calm Mind Clefable and Mega Mawile make for solid partners. Reuniclus's Pursuit weakness is also a nuisance, but if paired with Mega Latias, the pair can easily overwhelm opposing Pursuit trappers such as Weavile, Tyranitar, and Mega Tyranitar. Reuniclus can struggle with strong special attackers like Ash-Greninja, Volcarona, and Gengar, especially if it is unboosted. Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Toxapex, Heatran, and Kommo-o can deal with these Pokemon. If running Thunder, Excadrill is a solid teammate, as it takes advantage of Reuniclus's ability to handle Corviknight and Skarmory.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Stored Power alongside Acid Armor seems appealing to make Reuniclus a difficult-to-handle sweeper after a few boosts; however, this set is completely walled by Haze Toxapex as well as Dark-types, making it very inconsistent. This set necessitates Toxic Spikes support to wear down Dark-types such as Tyranitar and Greninja. Colbur Berry can also be used to take a hit from Weavile or Tyranitar in a pinch and OHKO back with Focus Blast. Life Orb is also a fine item if the Z Crystal has been taken by a teammate such as Excadrill.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Ash-Greninja, Tyranitar, and Weavile threaten Reuniclus with their super effective STAB attacks, but they cannot switch in for fear of Focus Blast. The latter two can also Pursuit trap and ruin Reuniclus. All of these Pokemon are susceptible to entry hazard support from Reuniclus's teammates though. Mega Sableye completely walls and can PP stall Reuniclus lacking Thunder.

**Ghost-types**: Gengar and Aegislash are able to scare Reuniclus out with the threat of their STAB Ghost-type attacks. It is worth noting that Gengar cannot switch in and can only OHKO Reuniclus with Never-Ending Nightmare if Reuniclus has multiple Calm Mind boosts.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: Powerful wallbreakers such as Mega Mawile, Mega Garchomp, and Tyranitar can handle Reuniclus, even after it has accrued multiple Calm Mind boosts. None of these Pokemon want to take multiple Focus Blast or Psyshock, making them less durable checks than one would think.

**Taunt**: Taunt Heatran can prevent Reuniclus from setting up, but it does not want to have to stomach a Focus Blast. Other Taunt users such as Tapu Fini and Grimmsnarl can impede Reuniclus setting up.

**Pokemon That Can Take Advantage of Reuniclus Setting Up**: Unaware Calm Mind Clefable does not care for Reuniclus's stat boosts, and can beat it with its own Calm Mind boosts. Choice Scarf Landorus-T can carry Punishment, which shatters Reuniclus after multiple Calm Mind boosts due to its scaling Base Power.

Access to the amazing ability Magic Guard alongside Calm Mind and great physical bulk allow Reuniclus to function as an effective win condition. Reuniclus is also able to use common defensive Pokemon such as Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Corviknight as setup fodder, an amazing trait for the balance teams it finds itself on. Focus Blast complements Psyshock nicely, demolishing Pokemon that resist Psyshock such as Tyranitar, Heatran, and Ferrothorn. [Life Orb's recoil is negated by Magic Guard, boosting the power of Reuniclus's moves with no drawback. Magic Guard is also useful beyond switching into Toxapex, as it blanks status chip such as Toxic and burn damage. Magic Guard also gives Reuniclus an immunity to entry hazards and sand, making it very difficult to wear down.] Combine the sentences in the brackets 44 Speed allows Reuniclus to outspeed Toxapex, allowing Reuniclus to come out on top even against Haze variants of Toxapex. The remaining EVs are placed into Defense with a Bold nature to allow Reuniclus to set up in the face of strong physical attackers, such as Mega Medicham, Mega Lopunny, and Excadrill. Excadrill is quite an odd example; there’s not really a reason to CM in front of it when a Breakneck Blitz could be coming your way; replace it or remove it entirely

Reuniclus appreciates entry hazard support from the likes of Clefable, Mega Tyranitar, and Ferrothorn in order to wear down the few natural checks that it has, such as Weavile and the Tyranitar formes. In particular, Reuniclus appreciates Toxic Spikes support from Toxapex to swiftly wear down opposing Pokemon while Reuniclus sets up. Additionally, due to Reuniclus's inability to touch Mega Sableye as well as bad matchup against Aegislash, teammates such as Calm Mind Clefable and Mega Mawile make for solid partners. Reuniclus's Pursuit weakness is also a nuisance, but if paired with Mega Latias, the pair can easily overwhelm opposing Tyranitar. Weavile, however, must be wary of switching into Reuniclus, as it does not want to take a Focus Blast. This sentence feels really out of place, just say Reuniclus + Mega Latias can overwhelm all Pursuit trappers Finally, Pokemon that can handle strong Special attackers such as Ash-Greninja, Gengar, and Magearna are great teammates, such as Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Kommo-o. Magearna in particular is a nuisance, as it can Trick Reuniclus its Choice Specs, permanently crippling Reuniclus. Reuniclus can struggle with strong special attackers like Ash-Greninja, Magearna, and Gengar, especially if its unboosted. Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Toxapex, Heatran, and Kommo-o can deal with these Pokemon, making them solid Reuniclus partners.

Mention Thunder Stored Power alongside Acid Armor seems appealing to make Reuniclus a wrecking ball that is nigh-unbreakable after a few boosts, however, this set is completely walled by Haze Toxapex alongside as well as Dark-type Pokemon, making it very inconsistent. Fightinium Z can be used if one does not want to risk Focus Blast missing the Tyranitar formes or against Taunt Heatran. Colbur Berry can also be used to take a hit from Weavile or Tyranitar in a pinch and OHKO back with Focus Blast. What’s the oppurtunity cost of Fightinium Z/Colbur Berry?

Checks and Counters

Mention that the latter two can Pursuit trap it All of these Pokemon are susceptible to entry hazard support from Reuniclus's teammates though. Mega Sableye also completely walls and can PP stall non-Thunder Reuniclus.

**Ghost-type Pokemon**: Gengar and Aegislash both are able to scare Reuniclus out with the threat of STAB Ghost-type attacks. It is worth noting that Gengar cannot switch in, and can only OHKO Reuniclus with Never-Ending Nightmare if Reuniclus has a few Calm Mind boosts under its belt.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: Powerful wallbreakers such as Mega Mawile, Mega Garchomp, and Tyranitar can handle Reuniclus even after it has accrued a few Calm Mind boosts.

**Taunt, Trick, and Punishment**: Reuniclus is very vulnerable to being ruined by Trick users such as Victini, Jirachi, and Magearna. Additionally, Taunt Heatran can prevent Reuniclus from setting up, but does not want to have to stomach a Focus Blast. Certain Choice Scarf Landorus-T sets also carry Punishment, which Punishment from Choice Scarf Landorus-T can shatter Reuniclus after a few Calm Mind boosts.

Thunder is an option over Focus Blast to hit Mega Sableye and Corviknight harder while being able to spread paralysis, but does not hit Dark-type Pokemon, leaving Reuniclus vulnerable to Pursuit. Stored Power alongside Acid Armor seems appealing to make Reuniclus a wrecking ball that is nigh-unbreakable after a few boosts, however, this set is completely walled by Haze Toxapex as well as Dark-type Pokemon, making it very inconsistent. Fightinium Z can be used if one does not want to risk Focus Blast missing the Tyranitar formes or against Taunt Heatran. Colbur Berry can also be used to take a hit from Weavile or Tyranitar in a pinch and OHKO back with Focus Blast. Loss of Life Orb is an issue though, as without it, Reuniclus fails to OHKO Tyranitar with Focus Blast.

Punishment from Choice Scarf Landorus-T can shatter Reuniclus after a few Calm Mind boosts. considering only 1 mon in the tier uses punishment and that is oftentimes forgone for different moves, I would remove that mention and change this segment to Restricting Reuniclus' moves, and include encore if you want to have another mention

add a section about punishing it from setting up, include lando here.

Since this had a big moveset change since the first QC im just going to do a pass over it to iron out some stuff:

- No need for Thunder to be in OO if its slashed on the main set - can add it to the set comments instead
- Life Orb can still go in OO, its a fine option if Z move is already taken. You may want to reword the bit about loss of Life Orb in OO to reflect that instead and move the points about that set from the set comments into this section.
- When talking about Reunilucs pairing well with Toxic Spikes be sure to emphasize that its pretty much mandatory alongside mono-Stored Power Reuniclus (which is mentioned in OO).
- Since we have changed the main set to Z move, we can remove Trick from the counters section.
- Separating Punishment Landorus-T from the Taunt section is fine but it should definitely be mentioned; I'd like to see it in a section with other ways to ignore/take advantage of Reuniclus setting up such as Unaware CM Clef.

Let me know when u implement this and the rest of the stuff from the above that I didnt mention :blobthumbsup:
