Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Ability: Levitate
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Ice
- Will-O-Wisp
I like leading with this guy because he often forces a switch at which point I can usually predict the switch-in as there are only a few good counters. His 3 attacks provide great coverage and WoW is great for the obvious Ferrothorn or bulky dragon switch-ins. Saw someone on RMT use a Specs set on Rotom-Wash and considered it, but I already have 2 Choice users on the team and I'm normally not a big fan of Choice sets.
Celebi @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 220 SpD / 36 SpD
Ability: Natural Cure
Calm Nature
- Giga Drain
- Psychic
- Stealth Rock
- Recover
The standard Specially Defensive Celebi that I'll occasionally use as a lead to set-up with SR. Works great as a counter to Rotom-Wash, Keldeo, and Thundurus. I can never commit to a moveset with this guy and would like some pointers in that regard if he remains on the team.
Scizor @ Choice Band
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SpD
Ability: Technician
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- U-Turn
- Pursuit
Another very standard set, but CB Scizor is my main fairy counter and a pretty good one at that. Though predictable at times, he still manages to hit most switch-ins pretty hard. Considered changing CB to Life Orb or Leftovers and switching Pursuit for Defog to have a hazard remover on the team.
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 Spd
Ability: Poison Heal
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Substitute
- Roost
Old faithful. While most of the other Pokemon have been switched as some point or another, this guy has been here from the start. He's just such a damn good physical wall and has frustrated many an opponent. I'm open to changing out the SubRoost set because I feel he can do a little more.
Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Ability: Sand Stream
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Superpower
- Dragon Dance
Decided to go with Tyranitar as my Mega and so far the results are pretty good. Since this guy often forces a switch it gives me a free Dragon Dance that'll allow me to go on a sweeping spree barring a counter with enough bulk to survive a boosted attack.
Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
EV: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SpA
Ability: Terravolt
Naive Nature
- Fusion Bolt
- Outrage
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
Pure unadulterated power. Thats what this guy brings to my team, along with some great mixed coverage attacks. Dragonite was originally here, but I fell in love with the idea of a Scarfed Kyurem-B as a late-game sweeper. There might be better options for this guy's build but I definitely want to leave him on the team if possible.
Weaknesses:
- There is not a single fire move on this team. Thought about switching Scizor for a mized SpA Genesect but I like CB Scizor better for handling Fairies because of priority Bullet Punch. Scizor does become predictable in those cases though.
- No way to remove hazards.
Other Issues:
- Some people may suggest Blaziken as my Mega instead of Tyranitar but I used him and just wasn't as enamored as many others seem to be with his skills. Definitely a good option to solve the lack of fire attacks though.
- I originally added Celebi as SpD bulk, another lead option, and a counter to Rotom-Wash, Keldeo, and other threats. But if the Pokemon he counters aren't present he doesn't do much for my team.
- I don't have a single 6th gen in there and kind of want one on the team, but just can't decide what might be of use.
- Mostly unoriginal sets so I'm looking to inject some life into my team in that regard.
