Hello, I started playing the VGC this year after messing around on pokemon showdown a lot, and played in the winter regionals tournament at salem and made top 8, only to get demolished by Henry Maxon A.K.A. Snake on a livestream by nugget bridge. I have worked pretty hard on making a team since then, and this is what I have, and would like some critique on it.
Charizard
Item: Charizardite Y
Ability: (blaze but this doesn't matter as much since I'll be mega evolving most of the time)
Moves:
Heat Wave (I play this to get some spread moves on my team, and is VERY powerful in the sun)
Air Slash (I chose this over dragon pulse because I figured I would want to beat conkelldur as it is a major threat.)
Solar Beam (This is pretty obvious, but to beat rotom wash mainly.)
Roost (I run this over protect because I want some recovery on my charizard.)
Nature: Modest

Item: Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
Moves:
Draco Meteor (Just a big hitting move that almost guarantees the OHKO on any dragon type)
Fire Blast (Gets sun boosted, kills stuff)
Hydro Pump (while this does get less powerful in the sun, I run this salamance as a sweeper. or to pick off a threat, so I want type coverage in my moves.)
Dragon Pulse (I didn't know what to put in my last move slot, so I put this in.

Item: Zap Plate (I know this is weird, but I want to be able to kill other rotoms with this thing and deal heavy damage to other flying types.)

(I know these stats are weird, but with them they outspeed certain things like max speed adamant kangaskhan, and other pokemon at around that same speed.)

Item: Assault Vest (I run this because it's proven to be good, but since I run multiple pokemon with Will-O-Wisp, I can burn this thing myself if need be, or I can switch this in on a Will-O-Wisp or a scald.)
