[RMT] The thing with Weavile? True story - and those claws are not pleasant.
Gyarados (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 68 HP/252 Atk/188 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Thunder Wave
- Stone Edge
My moderately tweaked Gyarados lead. 4 EVs were transferred from HP to allow it to out speed other standard set Gyarados, as I find the speed gain helps me far more than the one extra point in HP does. Thunder Wave is to cripple things. If I feel my opponent is going to switch out to a counter or that its attacks aren't going to dent me in general, I Thunder Wave. I'm not quite sure whether it's better to Thunder Wave or Dragon Dance. If Dragon Dance is always better, I'd remove Thunder Wave for type coverage, but since the boost goes away I think TWave has a better effect in the long-term.
Electivire (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 76 Atk/188 Spd/248 SAtk
Mild nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- ThunderPunch
- Hidden Power Ice
- Flamethrower
- Cross Chop
Ah, the old Electivire/Gyarados combo. Good times. I kind of miss my old Jolteon/Gyarados one, but this one is far better, if a little more tedious.
4 Speed EVs were moved from Special Attack to allow him to out speed other standard once-boosted Electivire for the OHKO. Basically, things should go like this - an Electivire switches in on Gyarados, possibly catching a Thunder Wave. I switch out to Electivire, who was not previously revealed, and Earthquake next turn. They assume it'll be a fifty-fifty tossup - I will know better, and will then have a safely boosted Electivire.
Note: I have to be very careful with this guy. One of my greatest screw-ups came from a match where my opponent lead off with CMCune. He CM'd, and I used TWave. I switched the following turn to Electivire, and he HP Electric'd me. I attacked with ThunderPunch - and he switched to a Max Speed Electivire. Not fun for me, I assure you, to realize he outsped me. He then proceeded to rape my team.
Note II: I decided to keep ThunderPunch on him for a surprise factor. There is only about 15 points difference between Attack and Special Attack on this beast, and I typically use ThunderPunch for STAB.
Weavile (F) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Ice Shard
- Brick Break
- Night Slash
My revenge killer. As you all know, Weavile's so fast that she'll speed in, kill a Pokemon, and screw around with your girlfriend before you even see the flash of her red headdress. But ridiculous fawning over Weavile aside, one disadvantage she has in comparison to Dugtrio, however, is the inability to Arena Trap. But her Attack and ability to STAB Pursuit fleeing opponents makes up for it, along with her superior type coverage. Pressure isn't half-bad either.
Weavile handles 4x weak Dragons easily so that the pressure is not primarily on Dragonite. Yache Berry Chomp can be handled to some extent by Ice Sharding it then finishing it off with either another Ice Shard (if it Dragon Dances) or by polishing it off with Vaporeon's STAB Surf. Since Ice Shard is a priority move, there's no need to worry about outspeeding it after the Yache boost.
Lucario (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Aura Sphere
- Vacuum Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Dragon Pulse
Lucario adds some Choice Specs Special Attack to my team, along with another priority move and decent resistances. He can generally come in on something that's been Baton Passed Speed Boosts and tear it apart or at least do significant damage with CS Vacuum Wave before it's KO'd.
This Lucario is designed to do exactly what the Analysis said it would - come out of nowhere and kick you in the fork of your legs. He's not coming in for long, but when he does, he usually brings down a Pokemon or two with him.
Dragonite (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk/4 SDef/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Outrage
A Dragon Danced Outrage is one of the most powerful moves I've ever seen, and Dragonite delivers.
Basically, what should happen is this - I come in and Dragon Dance. If my opponent has a counter, he'll usually switch to it now. A once Dragon Danced Dragonite has a base Speed of 120. There are a few Pokemon that can out speed this and do significant damage - Weavile, Jolteon, and Aerodactyl. If it's a Weavile, I switch to either Lucario or Vaporeon. If it's a Jolteon, I switch to Electivire. If it's an Aerodactyl, I switch to Vaporeon. Dugtrio is the only Pokemon that matches this speed that I fear, but Vaporeon can always handle him as, being a Flying type, Dragonite is immune to Arena Trap.
I try to hit SE before I Outrage. Usually my opponent will switch in something that resists Dragon, like Steel or Fire (Heatran being the most notable). Earthquake easily handles Heatran, while Fire does decently on things that resist Dragon. Eventually, when he does use Outrage, he does significant damage and usually brings down one, sometimes two, Pokemon. When the Outrage fizzles, I can easily switch him out.
Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Wish
Vaporeon, for his size, can take a lot in. He has the advantage of adding another immunity to my team - Water - which is a fairly common type. Vaporeon can also handle Dragons in case I don't want to risk my Dragonite, and Toxic generally hurts everything. STAB Surf isn't something to laugh at, either. Sadly, I can't fit Protect on there without sacrificing something.

Gyarados (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
