[SET]
Stealth Rock (Golurk) @ Colbur Berry
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Spe
Tera Type: Dark
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Poltergeist
- Ice Punch / Dynamic Punch

[SET COMMENTS]
Golurk can leverage its usable bulk, defensive and offensive typing, and more importantly, its great power to become an offensive Stealth Rock user, one of the few in the tier. This set is also good at bluffing Choice Band, which can be taken advantage of when setting up Stealth Rock. Ice Punch is optimal coverage for Golurk on this set, letting it hit Pokemon like Wo-Chien and Altaria, who would otherwise be great checks to Golurk. Dynamic Punch is also an option for its higher base power and Confusion chance being annoying to deal with. Colbur Berry's main draw is reversing the matchup on Dark-type checks Skuntank and Bombirdier, always tanking a Knock Off from them while OHKOing Skuntank back with Earthquake. The EV spread lets it outspeed -1 Arcanine and defensive Alolan Sandslash, while the rest is put into bulk, which lets it live two consecutive Overheats from Rotom-H and two Moonblasts from defensive Florges. Tera Dark sheds its many weaknesses and even turns some of them, like Dark and Ghost, into resistances; namely, it lets it check opposing Ghost-types like Hoopa and Houndstone as well as Dark-types like Scrafty and Zoroark after its Colbur Berry has been used up.

As an offensive Stealth Rock user, it should be used on more offensive teams that do not want to lose momentum from their entry hazard user, but not hyper offense teams that rely on leads like Lycanroc and Froslass to get their entry hazards up. Thus, Golurk should prioritize offensive pivots that can bring it in. Pokemon like Ambipom and Hisuian Electrode are great for this, bringing Golurk in on their switch-ins like Bellibolt and Assault Vest Copperajah; in return, Golurk provides a way to break past them as well as entry hazards to help wear these switch-ins down. Golurk also appreciates defensive partners that help it deal with Dark-types, such as Paldean Tauros-F and Choice Scarf Florges, which are great at forcing out most Dark-types. Bulky Water- and Grass-types to switch into the Water- and Grass-types that force Golurk out, like Cramorant and Wo-Chien, are also appreciated; Cramorant can also spread paralysis to help Golurk outspeed its offensive checks.

Golurk can leverage its usable bulk, defensive and offensive typing (The offensive typing is relatively important to mention imo; you threaten out a few common forms of hazard control such as Alolan Sandslash and Coal with typing alone), and more importantly, its great power and become an offensive Stealth Rock user, one of the few in the tier. Ice Punch is optimal coverage for Golurk on this set, letting it hit Pokemon like Wo-Chien, Altaria, Gligar, and Staraptor in one moveslot, who would otherwise be great checks to Golurk. Colbur Berry's main draw is reversing the matchup on Dark-type checks Skuntank and Bombirdier, always tanking a Knock Off from them while OHKOing Skuntank back with Earthquake. (fwiw i still think Sash is a decent threat and i think it can be mentioned as a decent OO option, but i'll leave that up to you.) Tera Dark sheds its many weaknesses and even turns some of them, like Dark and Ghost, into resistances; namely, it lets it check opposing Ghost-types like Decidueye (dont rly like this as Deci most likely clicks Leaf Blade vs you anyways. Another mention like say, hoopa, seems better here.) and Houndstone as well as Dark-types like Grimmsnarl Scrafty and Zoroark (changing the mentions here as Grimm is a Dark Type but uh, kinda does not play like a dark-type? its kinda hard to explain.) after its Colbur Berry has been used up.
(no mention on the speed and bulk investment and its purpose?)

Pokemon like Ambipom and Choice Scarf Rotom-C are great for this, bringing Golurk in on their switch-ins like Bellibolt and Assault Vest Galarain Slowbro; in return, Golurk provides a way to break past them as well as entry hazards to help wear these switch-ins down. Golurk also appreciates defensive partners that help it deal with Dark-types, such as Skuntank (Skunk doesnt really threaten out other skunk or scrafty kinda, something like Wetbull is probably a better mention here.) and Choice Scarf Florges, which are great at forcing out most Dark-types.
(Mentioning some checks to Bulky Water- and Grass-types like Mil and even Wo-Chien and qwil to an extent should probably be mentioned here.)

(Idk where to put it but you should definitely mention how Golurk has a huge appeal of being able to bluff Choice Band against some threats like Bellibolt and Galarbro allowing the lurk user to easily get rocks up / say, throw out an EQ into a Deci switchin and expecting a switchout, the Deci stays in and clicks sd and then dies to polter..)
