[OVERVIEW]

Roserade holds a niche as a powerful attacker thanks to its massive base 125 Special Attack and ability to hit nearly the entire tier for neutral damage. Access to Poisonium Z alongside two powerful STAB attacks allows Roserade to threaten the common defensive backbones consisting of Fairy-, Ground-, and Water-types that flood the UU tier. Useful utility in Sleep Powder coming off a fast base 95 Speed stat and a Technician-boosted Hidden Power Fire gives Roserade a way to bypass its common checks while providing free turns for its entire team. Furthermore, a Grass / Poison typing enables Roserade to absorb Scald, Toxic, and Spore from defensive Pokemon on offensive teams while still providing respectable damage output thanks to its high Special Attack. However, its terrible base 60 HP and 65 Defense means that Roserade is revenge killed by faster offensive threats like Mega Aerodactyl, Infernape, and Latias and strong priority users like Choice Band Scizor, and Roserade even struggles switching into hard-hitting resisted attacks from slower Pokemon like Primarina's Moonblast. Roserade's longevity is also hampered by its proneness to being Pursuit trapped once weakened by Mega Aerodactyl and Krookodile, two very common attackers in the metagame.

Moves
========

Sleep Powder is a great utility move to ease prediction and induce sleep on common switch-ins like Mega Aggron and Klefki or Pokemon Roserade outspeeds and cannot OHKO in a single turn, giving it more chances to fire off its powerful attacks. Leaf Storm is Roserade's strongest STAB attack that hits unresisted foes like Mega Aerodactyl, Tentacruel, and Gligar for respectable amounts of damage. Sludge Bomb is a phenomenal secondary STAB move that targets foes that do not mind switching into Leaf Storm such as Latias, Hydreigon, and Mega Altaria. Hidden Power Fire becomes a powerful coverage move when boosted by Technician, allowing Roserade to OHKO Scizor and dent other Steel-types like Cobalion and Doublade that resist its STAB attacks. Giga Drain can be used over Leaf Storm as a 100% accurate STAB attack that provides slightly more longevity than Leaf Storm, but it is usually inferior due to the noticeable power drop and Roserade's mediocre bulk.

Set Details
========

A Timid nature maximizes Roserade's Speed and prevents it from being outsped from otherwise problematic Pokemon such as Rotom-H, Nidoking, and Togekiss. Poisonium Z turns Sludge Bomb into Acid Downpour, allowing Roserade to break past slower defensive Pokemon like Rotom-H and Amoonguss with some prior damage and catch faster offensive Pokemon like Latias, Hydreigon, and Kyurem on the switch.

Usage Tips
========

Roserade should be used as an early- to mid-game wallbreaker on offensive teams because its mediocre Speed gives it difficulty sweeping and usually makes it easy to revenge kill. Roserade has a respectable base 105 Special Defense, so try to bring it in against Pokemon that cannot do much damage to it, such as Amoonguss, Tentacruel, and Florges. Against more offensively inclined teams, Roserade will struggle switching into resisted attacks like Primarina's Moonblast and Mega Altaria's Return. As such, it's best to attempt to bring it in via U-turn, Volt Switch, or a predicted double. If Roserade is in a favorable matchup and a switch to a faster Pokemon like Latias, Gengar, or Nihilego is predicted, use Sleep Powder to hinder the check and gain free turns for Roserade or its teammates. Hidden Power Fire should be used on predicted switches if the opponent's Roserade check is a Steel-type that can be 2HKOed by it, such as Cobalion, Scizor, and Doublade. If the Pokemon predicted to switch in is slower than Roserade and the opponent's Steel-type is worn down, use Acid Downpour to deal massive damage to Pokemon like Kyurem and Hydreigon that attempt to pivot into Roserade and force it out. Try to use Leaf Storm when Roserade finds itself in a favorable matchup against Ground- and Water-types or if a foe has been put to sleep already, as even common Pokemon that resist it like Cobalion and Hydreigon will take a sizable amount of damage. However, be wary of the Special Attack drop that it brings, as it almost always forces Roserade to switch out and will make it more prone to being revenge killed or trapped by Pursuit.

Team Options
========

Roserade fits best on offensive teams that appreciate a burn, poison, and sleep absorber that can still hit hard and provide utility with Sleep Powder. Pursuit users such as Krookodile, Scizor, and Mega Aerodactyl make for good partners, as they can potentially trap faster problematic Pokemon like Latias and opposing Mega Aerodactyl. Roserade's poor Defense and mediocre Speed means that it's able to get Pursuit trapped when weakened; as such, Pokemon that can take advantage of Pursuit users have good offensive synergy with Roserade. Fighting-types like Cobalion and Terrakion fit this role nicely and also help weaken specially defensive walls for Roserade. Roserade struggles switching into most attacks, so having pivots like Gligar, Scizor, and Mega Manectric on offensive teams to bring it in safely is greatly appreciated. Similarly, it's important to have defensive Pokemon like Gligar and Diancie that are able to switch into faster offensive Pokemon that threaten Roserade out, such as Infernape and Latias. Mega Altaria, Scizor, and Mega Aerodactyl appreciate Roserade weakening Steel-types with Hidden Power Fire or inducing them with sleep, as this gives them an easier time cleaning late-game. Mega Altaria can potentially set up on a Pokemon locked into Pursuit, while Scizor and Mega Aerodactyl can revenge kill Pokemon like Terrakion and Latias that trouble Roserade. Stealth Rock setters like Cobalion, Terrakion, and Gligar possess good synergy with Roserade and can help soften its checks through residual damage.

Other Options
=============

Toxic Spikes or Spikes can be utilized to wear down certain switch-ins, but these options are generally inferior because Roserade functions better as a threatening attacker able to put break past its checks with the help of Sleep Powder. Life Orb can be used over Poisonium Z if the Z-Move is taken by another member on the team, but it will wear down Roserade even faster throughout the match and make it easier to revenge kill. Black Sludge is another option if the Z-Move is not available and Life Orb's damage is unwanted, but the power difference between this set and the previous two is noticeable.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Faster offensive Pokemon such as Mega Aerodactyl, Latias, Infernape, and Celebi can outspeed Roserade and OHKO it with their strong STAB attacks or Z-Moves but are all hit hard by Roserade's STAB attacks. Common Choice Scarf users like Krookodile and Hydreigon can't switch into Roserade directly but can revenge kill it after some prior damage or pivot out into another teammate on a forced switch, even if their Choice Scarf is removed.

**Bulky Steel-types**: Mega Aggron, Bronzong, and Klefki can comfortably take a Hidden Power Fire and proceed to deal massive amounts of damage in the case of the former two or cripple it with Thunder Wave in the case of the latter. However, none of these Pokemon appreciate being put to sleep by Sleep Powder.

**Priority Users**: Bullet Punch from Choice Band Scizor, Ice Shard from Life Orb Mamoswine, and Sucker Punch from Life Orb Bisharp can all OHKO Roserade after Stealth Rock damage before it gets a chance to attack; however, the latter can be put to sleep with Sleep Powder before it attacks.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Blissey, Nihilego, and even the rare Alolan Muk can comfortably handle any attack that Roserade tries to throw at them and proceed to set up entry hazards or revenge kill it. Blissey deserves a special mention, as it does not mind being put to sleep by Sleep Powder thanks to Natural Cure.

overview

However, Roserade's base 95 Speed falls short in a metagame full of faster offensive threats that can easily OHKO it, such as Mega Aerodactyl, Infernape, Terrakion, and Latias.
not particularly fond of having the speed as a negative, since imo a fast sleep powder is what makes it a really threatening breaker, as you can more easily pin point exactly what u want to be asleep than with amoong + u can also dent slower offensive mons like bisharp. and the real reason it falls so easily to most of the mons u mentioned is bc of the poor def stat which is mentioned below, so i'd consider removing this part or maybe just add it to the defense line if u think it fits, but mention the fast sleep powder as a positive.

usage tips

If Roserade is in a favorable matchup and a switch to a sturdy check is predicted, use Sleep Powder to hinder the check and gain free turns for Roserade or its teammates.
here i'd specify faster pokemon like latias, gengar, or nihilego, because u benefit more from attacking if ure predicting a slower mon. and id mention at least 2/3 of those 3 bc most of the other faster pokemon are better off to be killed by acid downpour/leaf storm (hydreigon, infernape, mega aero etc).

If the opponent does not have a sturdy check to Roserade and their Steel-type is worn down, use Acid Downpour to deal massive damage to Pokemon like Latias or Hydreigon that attempt to pivot into Roserade and force it out.
do the same here and replace "sturdy check" with "if the pokemon predicted to switch in is slower, use x". and replace the latias mention with some other pokemon since it can live the hit and roost/psychic if healthy enough.

checks and counters

**Priority Users**: Bullet Punch from Choice Band Scizor, Ice Shard from Life Orb Mamoswine, and Sucker Punch from Life Orb Bisharp can all OHKO Roserade after Stealth Rock damage before it gets a chance to attack.
mention that the latter can be won over by sleep powder.

QC 3/3 great job

Sleep Powder is a great utility move to ease prediction and induce sleep on common switch-ins like Mega Aggron and Klefki or Pokemon it outspeeds and cannot OHKO in as a single turn, giving Roserade more chances to fire off its powerful attacks. Leaf Storm is Roserade's strongest STAB attack that hits unresisted foes like Mega Aerodactyl, Tentacruel, and Gligar for a respectable amount of damage. Sludge Bomb is a phenomenal secondary STAB move that targets foes that do not mind switching into Leaf Storm, (RC) such as Latias, Hydreigon, and Mega Altaria.

A Timid nature maximizes Roserade's Speed and prevents it from being outsped from otherwise problematic Pokemon, (RC) such as Rotom-H, Nidoking, and Togekiss. Poisonium Z turns Sludge Bomb into Acid Downpour, allowing Roserade to break past slower defensive Pokemon like Rotom-H and Amoonguss with some prior damage and catching faster offensive Pokemon like Latias, Hydreigon, and Kyurem on the switch.

Usage Tips

Roserade should be used as an early- to mid-game breaker on offensive teams because its mediocre Speed gives it difficulty sweeping and usually makes it easy to revenge kill. Roserade has a respectable base 105 Special Defense, (AC) so try to bring it in against Pokemon that cannot do much damage to it, such as Amoonguss, Tentacruel, and Florges.

=============

Toxic Spikes or Spikes can be utilized to wear down certain switch-ins, but these options are generally inferior as because Roserade functions better as a threatening attacker able to put break past its checks with the help of Sleep Powder. Life Orb can be used over Poisonium Z if the Z-Move is taken by another member on the team, (AC) but it will wear down Roserade even faster throughout the match and make it easier to revenge kill. Black Sludge is another option if the Z-Move is not available and Life Orb's damage is unwanted, but the power difference between this set and the previous two is noticeable.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Faster offensive Pokemon, (RC) such as Mega Aerodactyl, Latias, Infernape, and Celebi, (RC) can outspeed Roserade and OHKO it with their strong STAB attacks or Z-Moves but are all hit hard by Roserade's STAB attacks.

**Priority Users**: Bullet Punch from Choice Band Scizor, Ice Shard from Life Orb Mamoswine, and Sucker Punch from Life Orb Bisharp can all OHKO Roserade after Stealth Rock damage before it gets a chance to attack; however, the latter can be hit inflicted by sleep with Sleep Powder before it attacks.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Blissey, Nihilego, and even the rare Alolan Muk can comfortably handle any attack that Roserade tries to throw at them and proceed to set up hazards or revenge kill it. Blissey deserves a special mention, (AC) as it does not mind being put to sleep by Sleep Powder thanks to Natural Cure.

[OVERVIEW]

Roserade holds a niche as a powerful attacker thanks to its massive base 125 Special Attack and its ability to hit nearly the entire tier for neutral damage. However, its terrible base 60 HP and 65 Defense means that Roserade is able to be revenge killed by faster offensive threats like Mega Aerodactyl, Infernape, and Latias,(RC) and strong priority users like Choice Band Scizor, and Roserade even struggles switching into hard-(AH)hitting resisted attacks from slower Pokemon like Primarina's Moonblast. Roserade's longevity is also hampered by its proneness to being Pursuit trapped once weakened by Mega Aerodactyl and Krookodile, two very common attackers in the metagame.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Sleep Powder is a great utility move to ease prediction and induce sleep on common switch-ins like Mega Aggron and Klefki or Pokemon it Roserade outspeeds and cannot OHKO in a single turn, giving Roserade it more chances to fire off its powerful attacks.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

If the Pokemon predicted to switch in is slower than Roserade and the opponent's Steel-type is worn down, use Acid Downpour to deal massive damage to Pokemon like Kyurem or and Hydreigon that attempt to pivot into Roserade and force it out. Try to use Leaf Storm when Roserade finds itself in a favorable matchup against Ground- and Water-types or if a foe has been put to sleep already, as even common resistances Pokemon that resist it like Cobalion and Hydreigon will take a sizable amount of damage. However, be wary of the Special Attack drop that it brings, as it almost always forces Roserade to switch out and will make it more prone to being revenge killed or trapped by Pursuit.

Team Options
========
