Project RU Best Next Thing - Reloaded『Cycle 15: Diancie - Submissions』

Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Recover
- Mirror Coat
- Toxic

Milotic high Sp.Def allows Milo to lure in any special wallbreaker or unboosted supereffective move and OHKO back.

252 SpA Rotom-Mow Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 136+ SpD Milotic: 246-290 (62.4 - 73.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 SpA Ninetales Solar Beam vs. 252 HP / 136+ SpD Milotic: 256-302 (64.9 - 76.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Gardevoir Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 136+ SpD Milotic: 153-180 (38.8 - 45.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Milotic @ Life Orb
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Recover

Offensive Life Orb Milotic
Offensive Milotic aims to get a jump certain pokemon expecting the defensive set by smacking grass types like Shaymin with a strong Ice Beam. Competitive is also a neat bonus, as Milotic can now heavily punish Defog from the likes of Gligar, Florges, and Mandibuzz by grabbing a +2 in special attack. Hydro Pump for a strong STAB, Ice Beam for grasses, HP Grass to help against opposing waters, and Recover to be able to stick around. Even with no bulk investment, offensive Milotic is still capable of checking pokemon such as Mega Blastoise and Doublade.

Offensive AV Mirror Coat Milotic

Milotic @ Assault Vest
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Mirror Coat
- Dragon Tail

This Milotic aims to get a +2 SpA boost thanks to its increased SpD through the AV; look at this:
252 SpA Life Orb Shaymin Seed Flare vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Milotic: 237-281 (71.6 - 84.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Milotic Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Shaymin: 180-212 (52.7 - 62.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
or Mirror Coat

Dragon Tail is quite good to phase out opposite threats, which think they can set-up in front of you.

Wishpassing is recommended to recharge Milotic's HP once in a while.

I'm late for the competition but I want to post my Milotic set that I made a while anyways

Milotic @ Icium Z
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 20 SpA / 12 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Ice Beam / Blizzard
- Recover
- Haze

Its Icium Z Milotic. My idea when I made this set was to lure common offensive switch to Milotic without using an offensive set/spread and still retain defensive utility.
Some calcs to understand how works:
20 SpA Milotic Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Roserade: 246-290 (94.2 - 111.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
20 SpA Milotic Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Rotom-Mow: 242-286 (100.4 - 118.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
20 SpA Milotic Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Shaymin: 256-302 (75 - 88.5%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
20 SpA Milotic Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Virizion: 206-244 (63.7 - 75.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
20 SpA Milotic Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 204 HP / 0 SpD Dragalge: 214-254 (66.4 - 78.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
20 SpA Milotic Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Ampharos-Mega: 238-280 (73.9 - 86.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
20 SpA Milotic Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Toxicroak: 181-214 (58.9 - 69.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
20 SpA Milotic Subzero Slammer (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Tsareena: 260-308 (91.2 - 108%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

The idea its to make many 2HKO or 3HKO into some HKO (after Stealth Rock damage) and 2HKO against potential common switch in. Icium-Z has another utility, this one its defensive with Haze which helps to use Haze + health at full in the same turn, this has a good utility against certain threats like Doublade.

Ice Beam vs. Blizzard
Both moves are viable, Blizzard its only relevant to get higher chances to kill Shaymin after SR damage and obviously hits with a few harder damages against stuff like Virizion and Toxicroak that wont kill but with an extra damage. Ice beam its more useful in terms of consistency after you used Subzero Slammer, because you might need that 100% accuracy against Zygarde, Flygon or Noivern.

Also voting Mirror Coat Milotic!

Congratulations to nameless90 and all the participants, good stuff we got there! Lets hop into one more:

Cycle 5: Noivern!

Noivern got the spotlight of many RU teams and builders throughout the last months due to its capabilities as a stallbreaker with the combination of Taunt, Roost, Hurricane, and Super Fang. Ahead of its stallbreaking perks, Noivern also has a great set of resistances that allow it to check a multitude of threats while being retaining its stellar speed and good offensive presence.

Its not an understatement to say Noivern is now one of RU's best Pokémon, specially after peaking Rank #1 in usage on the first cycle of Snake Draft, with a clean winrate. What else can we do with Noivern?

Noivern @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 48 HP / 252 SpA / 208 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Flamethrower/ Focus Blast
- Boomburst
- Switcheroo

This set has more immediate firepower than Z-move Noivern and has the nice addition of potentially crippling defensive Pokemon that rely on thier items to function like Gligar, Snorlax, or Umbreon with Switcheroo.
It's also good if your team already has a Z-move user. Hurricane and Boomburst have insane firepower. Flamethrower or Focus Blast helps it not to get walled by Steel or Rock-type Pokemon.

Assault Vest Noivern

Noivern @ Assault Vest
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Air Slash
- U-turn
- Super Fang
- Flamethrower

Here we have an AoA Noivern with a basic spread which is able to tank more hits on the special side of the spectrum after a SR and, if it doesn't have the right coverage move, Noivern can easily U-turn out.
Air Slash is picked over Hurricane for the extra accuracy, which is really needed because we don't really have the opportunity to miss twice during a match.
Flamethrower is here for coverage alongside with Super Fang that really helps a lot as a "safe" move to use on a predicted switch-in of a check/counter.

grassium z can lure things like rhyperior and water types in general and have 81% chance to OHKO tyrantrum after stealth rock. Broken imo

This is the most unlikely lure of all time, but surprisingly Dragon-type coverage isnt that common on Noivern, which invites Pokémon such as Tyrantrum and Mega Ampharos to get free turns into it. Devastating Drake allows Noivern to outspeed and OHKO all Dragon-types on the tier (except for AV Goodra I guess?) and bop Rotom formes.

I'm not accepting AV Noivern since there aren't any reasonable calcs or explanation for why dropping Roost, sorry.
