Dragon Temple Proving Grounds
Level 2
Seated at the base a soaring pillar mountain, this reclusive temple houses several Orders of monks dedicated to perfecting the art of training Dragon-type Pokemon. The temple boasts a long history and asserts itself in the pedigree of many world-renowned Dragon-type trainers, such as Indigo Plateau's very own Lance.
While people do sometimes travel here hoping to join the various Orders of monks, many more pass through the temple to attempt the ascent. The mountain plays host to the Dragon's Might Challenge: A succession of battles, overseen by the different monk Orders, that test the aspirant's aptitude at catching, wielding, and battling Dragon-type Pokemon. Depending on their performance, the monks will judge them worthy of training increasingly more powerful Dragon-type Pokemon.
Safari Supplier: Order of the Scale
A lodging and staging area staffed by monks who are of sufficient rank to interact with outsiders. They commucate with each other silently, using gesture; but when dealing with mountain-bound aspirants, they reveal their fluency in a surprising variety of languages. Wherever you're from, it would seem there's at least one monk of the Scale you'll be able to hold a conversation with.

Mono (Hatterene)

Disciplines:
Level 2: Vigorous - Overheal 8 HP.
Species: Hatterene, Gender: Female
Typing: Psychic / Fairy
Abilities: Healer / Anticipation / (Unlocked) Magic Bounce
Profile:
Mono is a crafty and conniving witch, luring people into her forest and creating Psychic illusions to frighten them. As a fae, she always tells the truth, and she is also in the habit of collecting names or other concepts. Mono enjoys making bets or deals with unwary travelers, offering aid in exchange for valuable possessions. However, should anyone dare to break a deal or act unruly in her presence, she will not hesitate to viciously tear them to shreds with her tentacles. (Apparently this happened to Mimi one time. Good thing Dittos are rather resilient to getting torn apart...)
Mono's Name Collection: Renée, Fort
How They Met:
Once, Duo was exploring a dense part of the Glimwood Tangle in Galar with Wilhelm. Apparently, a traveler had gone missing there. Grimmsnarl and Hatterene are sworn enemies, so when they came across a particularly silent part of the forest, Wilhelm immediately recognized the telltale silence that accompanies a Hatterene's territory. They proceeded with caution but still ended up encountering Mono. She had helped the traveler out of a ditch, but they thanked her for the help and ended up getting trapped in the woods. Fortunately, Duo and Wilhelm were able to (carefully) negotiate terms for the traveler's release in exchange for a large supply of Psychic Gems.
Name Origin:
From Mono, an octopus sea witch in Castle Swimmer. This Mono is nice, though.

Disciplines:
Level 2: Graceful - Special Acc +15%.
Species: Wailord, Gender: Male
Typing: Water
Abilities: Water Veil / Oblivious / (Unlocked) Pressure
Profile:
Ralph is very chill, and nothing really bothers him. Due to his large size, he usually swims around in the ocean, only occasionally returning to shore for battles. He usually will not notice people talking to him unless they get very close to him, since everybody is extremely tiny to him.
How They Met:
One time, Doduodrio was swimming in the ocean with Sheldon. Suddenly, Ralph surfaced beneath them, expelling water from his blowhole! He didn't notice that there were people on his back until Sheldon rolled right off and splashed into the water. Afterwards, Sheldon and Ralph became fast friends since they're both big, slow, and they both live in the water.
Name Origin:
From aleph, the cardinality of infinite sets. At first I thought it just sounded cool, but it happened to also have a cool meaning.

Habitat Layout
Trek 1: Ordeal of the Fang
The might and savagery of the Dragon-type is exemplified by the ferocious Order of the Fang. In their ordeal, aspirants must balance on wooden stakes, protruding high above the battlefield below. As the aspirant's Pokemon battles the Dragons, more and more stakes will be toppled, until the aspirant has nowhere to stand.
- 2 Paths, Even Shuffle, No Repeats
- Arena Move: Dragon Claw
- The arena starts with 200 Balancing Stakes.
- When a Pokemon takes damage: Destroy that many stakes; then, if no stakes remain, the explorer loses the battle.
Miasmaw,
Druddigon,
Haxorus,
Baxcalibur.
The resilience and fortitude of the Dragon-type is the subject of the Order of the Wing's study. In this trial, aspirants must withstand the withering winds of the mountain alongside their Pokemon, while battling the undeterred native Dragons of the mountain ascent.
- 2 Paths, Even Shuffle, No Repeats
- Arena Move: Dual Wingbeat
- At the end of each step: The slowest single Pokemon in play loses 8 HP. (None, if tied.)
Drampa,
Dragapult,
Salamence,
Hydreigon
The intellect and cleverness of the Dragon is the creed of the Order of the Eye. Their trial is no trial, should the aspirant be worthy. Indeed, if the aspirant possesses the might of a Dragon, then a simple battle should be no Ordeal at all.
At the summit of the mountain, the Temple Master battles the aspirant with their esrtwhile prize: The right to take home powerful and well-trained Dragon-type Pokemon from the mountain, for which they must prove themselves worthy.
