Dragon Temple Proving Grounds
Seated at the base a soaring pillar mountain, this reclusive temple houses several Orders of monks dedicated to perfecting the art of training Dragon-type Pokemon. The temple boasts a long history and asserts itself in the pedigree of many world-renowned Dragon-type trainers, such as Indigo Plateau's very own Lance.

While people do sometimes travel here hoping to join the various Orders of monks, many more pass through the temple to attempt the ascent. The mountain plays host to the Dragon's Might Challenge: A succession of battles, overseen by the different monk Orders, that test the aspirant's aptitude at catching, wielding, and battling Dragon-type Pokemon. Depending on their performance, the monks will judge them worthy of training increasingly more powerful Dragon-type Pokemon.

Habitat Info:
This habitat is linear. Treks 1 through 3 are explored in sequence.
2v1 Singles
Level 2

Arenas are specified by each trek.
All other match rules are default.

Trek 1: Ordeal of the Fang

The might and savagery of the Dragon-type is exemplified by the ferocious Order of the Fang. In their ordeal, aspirants must balance on wooden stakes, protruding high above the battlefield below. As the aspirant's Pokemon battles the Dragons, more and more stakes will be toppled, until the aspirant has nowhere to stand.

The battlefield starts with 200 stakes.

When a Pokemon takes damage from an attack: Destroy that many stakes.

When the last stake is destroyed: The explorer loses the battle.

[Following the scent of abandoned lunches from past challengers, the Miasmaw enters into view, picking at the scattered and trampled berries on the ground. It looks up! And sees... fresh meat... Hungry, it skitters forth, huge tail behind it swaying violently, desperately, as it charges what is sure to be another weak-willed trainer!]
:Miasmaw:@:poison barb:Poison Barb surges forth!

Keriel sends out and issues orders.

Sending out Flow of the Zephyr (Togekiss) @ Shell Bell.

:mismagius: Throw :ultra ball: Ultra Ball.
:ss/togekiss: :shell bell:
Yawn ~ Thunder Wave ~ Dazzling Gleam

If Miasmaw has a Decoy, use Seismic Toss and push back.

If Miasmaw is to use a Protective move:
  • use Tailwind and push back the first instance.
  • Chill and push back other instances.
  • Replace all Thunder Wave with Toxic.
When Thunder Wave misses, [no trigger clauses], replace all Dazzling Gleam with Thunder Wave.

If Miasmaw is to use Rest on any step, initiate action string Dazzling Gleam ~ Dazzling Gleam ~ Dazzling Gleam the first instance.

The hungry Miasmaw skitters forth, crawling with agility through each wooden stake of the Draconic Order. Its prey has no idea... or so it seems. As Miasmaw pounces, its maw clutches nothing but smokey air, and the trainer it had it sights on is suddenly nowhere to be found... It frantically searches, where... where could it be??

Its eyes catch a glimpse of blots in the sky... a pointed dark figure :mismagius: and a winged round figure :togekiss: it hisses! They must be the ones who stole its food! Miasmaw has experience vying for food in this draconic territory, and it takes a cautious stance atop the stakes...

The white vulture and its ghastly companion float ahead and suddenly make a face unfamiliar to Miasmaw... yet... it cannot stop imitating the gesture. Its growing more sluggish as time passes, and the panic that arises is even quashed by the sudden exhaustion. Miasmaw makes noise, thrashes about, hypes itself up to counteract the ailment, but it feels itself being lulled into an untimely rest...

Even more curious, it has been stricken with a flash of yellow, and now its joints are locking! Not only that, the opponent seems to have sped up significantly. What is Miasmaw... a fool?! No! Miasmaw is Miasmaw! Miasmaw strong! Miasmaw loud! Miasmaw FIGHT BACK!!!

The Wild Miasmaw's energy rises up towards its airborne foes. It summons all its vocal strength and bellows out, to strike fear into the hearts of its opponents. However... as the gaping maw on it tail inhales, the Togekiss above responds first with a shattering screech!

The Togekiss' uproar causes sharp spikes of panic throughout the Miasmaw, and it wildly thrashes about - unable to shut its airborne foe up, and unable to get away from the pain of the screech. It wildly smashes and thrashes about, hitting the stakes around it and causing them to topple down quickly. Miasmaw has lost most of its senses, though what returns to it is a carnal urge of revenge... The bird seems to have withdrawn as it was thrashing desperately, and in its place is another pokemon this one smells... familiar...

Miasmaw, now familiar with its foe, encourages itself once more, bolstering its energy, and lunges forth!

Trek 2: Ordeal of the Wing
The resilience and fortitude of the Dragon-type is the subject of the Order of the Wing's study. In this trial, aspirants must withstand the withering winds of the mountain alongside their Pokemon, while battling the undeterred native Dragons of the mountain ascent.

The accuracy checks, effect checks, and critical checks of actions of the explorer's Pokemon are Unlucky. (Roll them twice. The check fails if either roll fails.)

The accuracy checks, effect checks, and critical checks of actions of the habitat's Pokemon are Lucky. (Roll them twice. The check fails only if both rolls fail.)

Wild Items:

The gusts blow strongly now, though Team Keriel is able to float and fly through the terrain. They continue forward through the Safari Zone, until a sudden chill comes over them... and then... a screech.
