[OVERVIEW]

Poison
========

Salazzle is a good addition to any Poison-type team thanks to its niche with Corrosion, being able to badly poison Steel- and Poison-type Pokemon such as Heatran and Toxapex. With Substitute and Toxic, it breaks balance and bulky teams with ease; however, since it relies on setting up Substitute to be effective, it is dead weight against offensive Pokemon after it gets off a Toxic. Due to Salazzle's ability Corrosion, it can be very useful in the Steel-, Poison-, and Water-type matchups, using Toxic threats to Poison teams such as Heatran and Toxapex. Due to its resistances to those types, Salazzle can also easily set up Substitutes in the Steel- and Poison-type matchups, freely spam Toxic, and KO weakened Pokemon with Flamethrower. However, Salazzle's typing only compounds Poison's weaknesses, though its part Fire typing does allow it to take on Steel-types such as Ferrothorn with Flamethrower. Also, due to its part Fire typing, Salazzle has a weakness to Stealth Rock, limiting the number of times it can switch in severely. Salazzle's below-average bulk makes its job of spreading status harder, as it has to rely on its Speed alone to get the job done. Salazzle also competes for the last team slot on Poison-type teams with Nidoking and Nihilego; furthermore, those two are Poison's Stealth Rock options, meaning if Salazzle is run another Pokemon will be forced to utilize Stealth Rock, limiting team coverage options. Doing so also leaves Poison teams without a powerful wallbreaker such as Nidoking for the Electric matchup, where it can beat Tapu Koko, or Nihilego for the Flying matchup, which can act as a powerful revenge killer.

Moves

Flamethrower lets Salazzle immediately threaten Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Celesteela, and Mega Scizor. Toxic allows Salazzle to cripple any Pokemon including Steel- and Poison-types such as Heatran and Mega Venusaur thanks to Corrosion. Protect allows Salazzle to scout attacks, gain Black Sludge recovery, and Toxic stall the opposing Pokemon. Substitute gives Salazzle a way to Toxic stall opposing Pokemon in tandem with Protect while also avoiding status such as Thunder Wave while also giving it a way to avoid weak attacks from walls such as Mega Venusaur.

Set Details
========

252 Speed EVs and a Timid nature make Salazzle as fast as possible, allowing it to outspeed Pokemon such as Keldeo and Choice Scarf Magnezone. An investment of 252 HP EVs maximizes Salazzle's bulk while providing longer-lasting Substitutes, and 4 EVs in Special Defense give Download users such as Porygon2 a boost to their Attack rather than their Special Attack. Black Sludge gives Salazzle a form of residual recovery and allows it to switch into Stealth Rock four times. Corrosion allows Salazzle to Toxic Poison- and Steel-type Pokemon such as Toxapex and Heatran.

Usage Tips
========

Salazzle finds tons of use in the Steel matchup, as it can pressure Pokemon such as Scizor with Flamethrower, allowing it to set up a Substitute, and badly poison Pokemon such as Heatran. Salazzle should be preserved in this matchup, as it can apply lots of pressure by threatening to poison everything or wear opposing Pokemon down with Flamethrower. Since Salazzle is super frail, it cannot be directly switched into battle; rather, it needs to be brought in when an ally faints, on a predicted switch, or when an opposing wall is expected to use recovery and/or Protect. Salazzle should use Protect as frequently as possible to rack up Black Sludge recovery and to scout what move Choice-locked Pokemon such as Victini choose. Protect and Substitute should also be used to help Salazzle stall out Toxic damage against opposing Pokemon. Salazzle should set up Substitute against weaker resisted attackers such as utility Jirachi or when it forces a switch against Steel-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn. Behind Substitute, Salazzle can readily spam Toxic to status opposing Pokemon and Protect to stall poison chip damage. Try to remove Stealth Rock from the field with Crobat before switching in Salazzle, as it takes a large chunk of damage from it and wears Salazzle down quickly. Since Black Sludge is Salazzle's only form of recovery, do not let it get removed by Knock Off from Pokemon such as Mew, losing it severely reduces Salazzle's time in battle.

Team Options
========

All of Salazzle's teammates appreciate its ability to wear down bulkier Pokemon such as Celesteela and Toxapex, with Toxic thanks to Corrosion, making the matchup against balanced and bulkier teams easier. Mega Venusaur provides Salazzle with a switch-in to Ground-type attacks such as Choice Scarf Excadrill's Earthquake and Gastrodon's Earth Power. It also can provide Leech Seed support, giving Salazzle more opportunities to set up a Substitute and keep its health up in the battle. Toxapex also acts as a blanket check to many attackers, being able to switch in against a variety of threats such as Greninja and Mega Lopunny for Salazzle. Alolan Muk provides a much-needed Psychic-type immunity for Salazzle. It can also use Knock Off to remove opposing items such as Mantine's Leftovers and Pursuit trap Psychic-type Pokemon that present a threat to Salazzle such as Choice Scarf Latios. In return Alolan Muk appreciates Salazzle's ability to take on Pokemon such as Celesteela and Toxapex, which would otherwise beat it. Crobat provides a Ground-type immunity for Salazzle and can Defog away hazards such as Stealth Rock, severely improving Salazzle's ability to come in multiple times a battle and click Toxic. Crobat also can Taunt walls such as Chansey and Porygon2, preventing them from using their recovery moves. Nidoking and Nihilego are the viable Stealth Rock setters available to Poison and compete for the last team slot. Nihilego is a fantastic revenge killer that appreciates Salazzle's ability to cripple walls such as Celesteela, giving it a cleaner time sweeping late-game, and Nidoking in return can break Pokemon such as Gliscor that wall Salazzle otherwise.

Salazzle has no viable other options.

Checks and Counters
===================

Poison
--------
**Status Absorbers and Magic Bounce Users**: Defensive Pokemon that do not mind being Toxic poisoned such as Gliscor can check Salazzle, as it relies on Toxic to wear down walls. Similarly, Salazzle can't poison Magic Bounce users such as Mega Sableye.

**Super Effective Coverage**: Salazzle has a plethora of common weaknesses such as to Ground-, Psychic-, Water-, and Rock-type attacks, leaving it vulnerable to tons of Pokemon in the metagame such as Landorus-T, Latios, Keldeo, and Mega Diancie.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster attackers such as Choice Scarf Greninja, Tornadus-T, and Dugtrio can easily outspeed and OHKO Salazzle with their STAB attacks. Since Salazzle is frail, common priority moves such as Dragonite's Extreme Speed and Azumarill's Aqua Jet are capable of severely crippling or OHKOing Salazzle. Dugtrio also can trap Salazzle, preventing it from switching out and guaranteeing the kill against Salazzle. Alakazam, on the same note, can always take on Salazzle, as, thanks to Magic Guard, it ignores poison and can revenge kill Salazzle with its STAB attacks.

**Fast Taunt Users**: Fast Taunt users such as Tapu Koko, Crobat, and Tornadus-T can render Salazzle useless, as it cannot status them with Toxic and does little damage back with Flamethrower.

**Paralysis**: Salazzle hates being paralyzed, as it relies on its Speed to status Pokemon such as Kyurem-B and Keldeo.

*maybe another bullet on salazzles subpar defensive stats and how it has to rely on its speed to get up sub / start spamming toxic and protect

* Salazzle competes for the last team slot on Poison-type teams with either Nidoking or Nihilego. Nidoking and Nihilego are the teams access to Stealth Rock, meaning if Salazzle is run you need to role compress them decreasing the teams overall coverage.

Poison

* Salazzle can be used as a Nasty Plot sweeper allowing it to take on Pokemon such as Mantine which would otherwise wall it. mantine seems like a shaky example to use here since setting up on mantine while taking a scald is undesirable, while mantine is able to live any attack salazzle throws at it at +2. However Poison teams have better options for Special Attackers such as Nihilego and Nidoking. This also prevents Salazzle from acting as a Toxic stall Pokemon which is its main niche on Poison-type teams. forces Salazzle to forgo it's Subtitute + Toxic set, which is the main reason to use it on Poison-type teams.
* taunt but its up to the qc team if they want to include that in OO

low defensive stats Were you meaning to write something here...? I don't really see a value in talking about low defensive stats when you mention twice that it relies on sub/speed to do anything.

* Flamethrower allows Salazzle to immediately threaten take on Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Celesteela, and Mega Scizor.
* Substitute allows Salazzle to avoid status in Thunder Wave while also giving it a way to avoid weak attacks from walls such as Porygon2 Mega Venusaur. I would put Substitute 3rd (and on the set). It's vital to talk about substitute and protect together since they go hand-in-hand with eachother for this set to be as effective as it can be.
* Toxic allows Salazzle to cripple any Pokemon including Steel- and Poison-types because of Corrosion. You mention it earlier, but again I would specify some important targets for this that Poison has issues handling.
* Protect allows Salazzle to scout attacks, gain Black Sludge recovery, and Toxic stall the opposing Pokemon. Wrap together with protect.

Set Details
========

* 252 Speed EVs and a Timid Nature makes Salazzle as fast as possible allowing it to outspeed Pokemon such as Keldeo and Choice Scarf Magnezone.
* 252 HP EVs maximizes Salazzle's bulk and 4 EVs in Special Defense give Download users such as Porygon2 a boost to their Attack rather than their Special Attack. Max HP also provides more durable Substitutes.
* Black Sludge gives Salazzle a form of residual recovery and allows it to switch into Stealth Rock four times.
* Corrosion allows Salazzle to Toxic Poison- and Steel-type Pokemon such as Toxapex and Heatran.

Usage Tips
========

* Salazzle should use Protect as frequently as possible to abuse Black Sludge recovery and to scout what move Choice Locked Pokemon such as Victini choose. Protect should also be used to help Salazzle stall out Toxic damage against the opposing Pokemon.
* Salazzle should try to spread Toxic behind a Substitute to help it take as little damage as possible and to avoid being statused by Thunder Wave from Pokemon like Chansey. Salazzle should also use Substitute in tandem with Protect to Toxic stall to the best of its ability. This second sentence is a repeat of the second sentence in the first bullet. Also, I think you're putting too much weight on TWave. It's not very prevalent in Pokemon. The whole point of using Sub is to Toxic stall out....not to dodge paralysis.
* Salazzle should setup Substitute against weaker resisted attackers such as Utility Jirachi or when it forces a switch against Steel-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn. Behind Substitute Salazzle can readily spam Toxic to status opposing Pokemon and Protect to stall poison chip damage.
* Salazzle should avoid paralysis as it cripples it Speed making it much harder to spread status as it is outspeed now by a plethora of threats such as Kyurem-Black. Again, idk if this is super relevant. If you want to keep it, make it the last bullet, and name some threats w/ para besides Chansey.
* Try to remove Stealth Rock from the field with Crobat before switching in Salazzle as it takes a large chunk of damage from it and wears Salazzle down quickly.
* Since Black Sludge is Salazzle's only form of recovery do not let them get removed by Knock Off from Pokemon such as Mew, as it severely reduces Salazzle's time in battle.

* Nidoking and Nihilego are the viable Stealth Rock setters available to Poison and compete for the last team slot. Nihilego is a fantastic revenge killer that appreciates Salazzle's ability to cripple walls such as Celesteela giving it a cleaner time sweeping late-game and Nidoking appreciates Salazzle's ability to Toxic Pokemon such as Araquanid reducing the amount of times it can switchin or breaking Dragonite's Multiscale.

Poison
--------
* Taunt can be used over Substitute to prevent walls from recovering off damage and crippling it with Thunder Wave. However, running Taunt over Substitute means Salazzle can not as effectively Toxic stall damage in conjunction with Protect. Does it use Taunt over Sub? I thought it was over Protect.
* Salazzle can be used as a Nasty Plot sweeper allowing it to take on Pokemon such as Zapdos which would otherwise wall it. However Poison teams have better options for Special Attackers such as Nihilego and Nidoking. This also prevents Salazzle from acting as a Toxic stall Pokemon which is its main niche on Poison-type teams. I don't really think this is worth including.

**Supereffective Coverage**: Salazzle has a plethora of common weaknesses such as Ground-, Psychic-, Water-, and Rock-type attacks leaving it vulnerable to tons of Pokemon in the metagame such as Landorus-T, Latios, Keldeo, and Mega Diancie's STAB attacks.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster attackers such as Choice Scarf Greninja, Tornadus-T, and Dugtrio can easily outspeed and OHKO Salazzle with their STAB attacks. **Paralysis**: Salazzle hates being paralyzed as it relies on its Speed to status Pokemon such as Kyurem-Black and Keldeo. Salazzle should avoid Paralysis at all costs as it severely cripples it ability to spread Toxic around.

**Status Absorbers + Magic Bounce Users**: Pokemon such as Gliscor and Chansey that are healed and don't mind Toxic damage are problematic for Salazzle as that is the main way it chips Defensive Pokemon. Magic Bounce users such as Mega Sableye altogether bounce back status attacks meaning Salazzle can't Toxic poison it. This first sentence is poorly phrased, I'd recommend rewriting it.

Overview:
~When mentioning Salazzle's competition vs. Nidoking and Nihilego for the last team slot, also briefly mention how they're better in certain matchups. For example, Nidoking infinitely helps Poison in the Steel matchup, while Nihilego is a powerful revenge killer against Flying teams.

Set: Not a big deal, but you can reword the set name to "SubToxic".

Usage Tips:
~Salazzle having a fast Substitute is a two-way street. It's nice for stalling when a foe is already poisoned, but having a fast Substitute with poor bulk can be detrimental against slower foes that aren't already poisoned.

Team Options:
~"Toxapex can cripple Physical attackers such as with Scald burns and scout choice locked Pokemon such as Diggersby with Baneful Bunker. Toxapex also acts as a blanket check to physical many attackers allowing it to switchin against a variety of threats such as Greninja and Mega Lopunny for Salazzle."
~Mention how Toxapex can also provide Toxic Spikes support for types that aren't Steel or Poison, or those that have a Ground immunity so that Salazzle can spend its time stalling turns without having to click Toxic and take unnecessary damage.
~"Alolan Muk provides a much needed Psychic-type immunity for Salazzle. It can also Knock Off Pokemon's items such as Mantine's Leftovers and Pursuit trap Psychic-type Pokemon that present a threat to Salazzle such as Choice Scarf Latios's Psychic. In return Alolan Muk appreciates its ability to take on Pokemon such as Celesteela and Toxapex which would otherwise beat it." You're stating the Pokemon that threaten Salazzle here. No need to talk about the move it can hit it with (especially when Draco also kills it).

Checks & Counters:
~Add Alakazam in the bullet about Faster Attackers (Revenge Killers).

Overview:
- This is entirely too negative. This should be refocused on Salazzle's niche with some explanations for why it's not like The Best. Bring up key matchups that Salazzle wins
- Plus it's still a Fire-type.
- Nidoking beating Heatran is kinda irrelevant when Salazzle can Toxic it too.

Moves:
- Why are you ever using Toxic instead of Flamethrower against Mega Scizor? Use Heatran as the example.
- Substitute isn't for status, although that is a nice side benefit. The point is to Substitute and Protect to stall Toxic turns and punish them if they try to switch out to reset the counter.

Usage Tips:
- Can we see some matchup tips? Particularly against Steel
- Talk about getting Salazzle in. Its bulk is terrible

Team Options:
- Unclear why Toxapex's Scald burns benefit a Pokemon that completely relies on Toxic poison.
- Nidoking taking out Gliscor is worth mentioning, since Gliscor walls Salazzle.

Checks and Counters:
- Surely the status absorber / magic bounce users should be first? They completely counter and wall Salazzle.

Salazzle is a good addition to any Poison-type team thanks to its niche with Corrosion, being able to Toxic poison Steel- and Poison-type Pokemon such as Heatran and Toxapex. Salazzle with Substitute and Toxic allows it to breaks balance and bulky teams with ease, however since it relies on setting up Substitute to be effective it is dead weight against offensive Pokemon after it gets off a Toxic. Due to Salazzle's ability Corrosion, it can be very useful in the Steel-, Poison-, and Water-type matchups,(AC) allowing it to Toxic using Toxic on threats to Poison teams such as Heatran and Toxapex. Salazzle can also easily setup Substitutes in the Steel- and Poison-type matchups, do due to its resistances against those attacks types, freely spam Toxic, and KO weakened Pokemon with Flamethrower. Salazzle's typing only compounds Poison's weaknesses; however, its part Fire typing allows does allow it to take on Steel-types such as Ferrothorn with Flamethrower. Also due to its part Fire typing,(AC) Salazzle has a weakness to Stealth Rock,(AC) limiting the amount of times it can switch-in switch in severely. Salazzle's below-(add hyphen)average bulk makes Salazzle's its job harder of spreading status harder, as now it has to rely on its Speed alone to get the job done. Salazzle also competes for the last team slot on Poison-type teams with either Nidoking or Nihilego. (i'm not really sure what the following sentences mean, but I'll edit based on my best guess) Nidoking and Nihilego are Poison's Stealth Rock options, meaning if Salazzle is run either is forced to utilize Stealth Rock, diminishing its another Pokemon will be forced to utilize Stealth Rock, limiting team coverage options. Doing so also leaving leaves Poison teams without either a powerful wallbreaker in matchups such as Nidoking for the Electric matchup,(AC) being able to beat Tapu Koko, or Nihilego as a powerful revenge killer for the Flying matchup,(AC) as a powerful revenge killer.

Salazzle finds tons of use in the Steel matchup, as it can pressure Pokemon such as Scizor with Flamethrower,(AC) allowing it to setup a Flamethrower Substitute, and Toxic poison Pokemon such as Heatran it becomes a very useful Pokemon against Steel teams. Salazzle should be preserved in this matchup, as it can apply lots of pressure by threatening to Toxic poison everything, or wear it opposing Pokemon down with Flamethrower. Since Salazzle is super frail,(AC) it can not be directly switched into battle. Salazzle needs to be brought in carefully and should do so by being brought in when an ally faints, a predicted switch, or when an opposing wall should is expected to use recovery and/(add slash)or Protect, allowing Salazzle an entry into battle. Salazzle should use Protect as frequently as possible to abuse Black Sludge recovery and to scout what move Choice-(add hyphen)locked Pokemon such as Victini choose. Protect and Substitute should also be used to help Salazzle stall out Toxic damage against the opposing Pokemon. Salazzle should setup Substitute against weaker resisted attackers such as utility Jirachi or when it forces a switch against Steel-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn. Behind Substitute,(AC) Salazzle can readily spam Toxic to status opposing Pokemon and Protect to stall poison chip damage. Try to remove Stealth Rock from the field with Crobat before switching in Salazzle as it takes a large chunk of damage from it and wears Salazzle down quickly. Since Black Sludge is Salazzle's only form of recovery,(AC) do not let them it get removed by Knock Off from Pokemon such as Mew, as it losing it severely reduces Salazzle's time in battle.

Team Options

All of Salazzle's teammates appreciate its ability to wear down bulkier Pokemon such as Celesteela and Toxapex, with Toxic thanks to Corrosion, making the matchup against balanced and bulkier teams easier. Mega Venusaur provides Salazzle with a switchin to Ground-type attacks such as Choice Scarf Excadrill's Earthquake and Gastrodon's Earth Power. It also can provide Leech Seed support,(AC) giving Salazzle more opportunities to setup a Substitute and keep its health up in the battle. Toxapex also acts as a blanket check to many attackers,(AC) allowing it to switch(add space) in against a variety of threats such as Greninja and Mega Lopunny for Salazzle. Alolan Muk provides a much needed Psychic-type immunity for Salazzle. It can also Knock Off Pokemon's opposing items such as Mantine's Leftovers and Pursuit trap Psychic-type Pokemon that present a threat to Salazzle such as Choice Scarf Latios. In return Alolan Muk appreciates its ability to take on Pokemon such as Celesteela and Toxapex which would otherwise beat it. Crobat provides a Ground-type immunity for Salazzle and can Defog away hazards such as Stealth Rock,(AC) severely reducing improving Salazzle's ability to come in multiple times a battle and click Toxic. Crobat also can Taunt walls such as Chansey and Porygon2,(AC) preventing them from using their recovery moves. Nidoking and Nihilego are the viable Stealth Rock setters available to Poison and compete for the last team slot. Nihilego is a fantastic revenge killer that appreciates Salazzle's ability to cripple walls such as Celesteela,(AC) giving it a cleaner time sweeping late-game,(AC) and Nidoking in return can break Pokemon such as Gliscor,(RC) that wall Salazzle otherwise.

**Status Absorbers + and Magic Bounce Users**: Defensive Pokemon that do not mind being Toxic poisoned such as Gliscor can check Salazzle as it relies on Toxic to wear down walls. Magic Bounce users such as Mega Sableye altogether bounce back status attacks,(AC) meaning Salazzle can't Toxic poison it.

**Super(add space) Effective Coverage**: Salazzle has a plethora of common weaknesses such as to Ground-, Psychic-, Water-, and Rock-type attacks,(AC) leaving it vulnerable to tons of Pokemon in the metagame such as Landorus-T, Latios, Keldeo, and Mega Diancie's STAB attacks. (you said it's weak to the Pokemon, so you can't use its weaknesses to their attacks as an example)

**Revenge Killers**: Faster attackers such as Choice Scarf Greninja, Tornadus-T, and Dugtrio can easily outspeed and OHKO Salazzle with their STAB attacks. Since Salazzle is frail,(AC) common priority moves such as Dragonite's Extreme Speed and Azumarill's Aqua Jet are capable of severely crippling or OHKOing Salazzle. Dugtrio also can trap Salazzle,(AC) preventing it from switching out and guaranteeing the kill against Salazzle. Alakazam,(AC) on the same note,(AC) can always take on Salazzle, as, thanks to Magic Guard,(AC) it ignores Poison chip and can revenge kill it Salazzle with its STAB attacks.

**Fast Taunt Users**: Fast Taunt users such as Tapu Koko, Crobat, and Tornadus-Therian can render Salazzle useless as it can not status them with Toxic and does little damage back with Flamethrower.

**Paralysis**: Salazzle hates being paralyzed as it relies on its Speed to status Pokemon such as Kyurem-Black and Keldeo. Salazzle should avoid paralysis at all costs as it severely cripples its ability to spread Toxic around.

[OVERVIEW]

Poison
========

Salazzle is a good addition to any Poison-type team thanks to its niche with Corrosion, being able to Toxic badly poison Steel- and Poison-type Pokemon such as Heatran and Toxapex. Salazzle With Substitute and Toxic, (AC) it breaks balance and bulky teams with ease; (SC) however, (AC) since it relies on setting up Substitute to be effective, (AC) it is dead weight against offensive Pokemon after it gets off a Toxic. Due to Salazzle's ability Corrosion, it can be very useful in the Steel-, Poison-, and Water-type matchups, using Toxic threats to Poison teams such as Heatran and Toxapex. Due to its resistances to those types, Salazzle can also easily setup set up Substitutes in the Steel- and Poison-type matchups, due to its resistances against those types, freely spam Toxic, and KO weakened Pokemon with Flamethrower. However, Salazzle's typing only compounds Poison's weaknesses, (comma) however, though its part Fire typing does allow it to take on Steel-types such as Ferrothorn with Flamethrower. Also, (AC) due to its part Fire typing, Salazzle has a weakness to Stealth Rock, limiting the number of times it can switch in severely. Salazzle's below-average bulk makes its job of spreading status harder, as it has to rely on its Speed alone to get the job done. Salazzle also competes for the last team slot on Poison-type teams with either Nidoking or and Nihilego; (SC) Nidoking and Nihilego furthermore, those two are Poison's Stealth Rock options, meaning if Salazzle is run another Pokemon will be forced to utilize Stealth Rock, limiting team coverage options. Doing so also leaves Poison teams without a powerful wallbreaker such as Nidoking for the Electric matchup, being able to where it can beat Tapu Koko, or Nihilego for the Flying matchup, which can act as a powerful revenge killer.
