[OVERVIEW]

Access to Chlorophyll and a boosting move in Swords Dance allows Sawsbuck to become a formidable sweeper under sun, outspeeding every unboosted threat in the PU metagame, including Choice Scarf users such as Primeape and Togedemaru, even with an Adamant nature. One of Sawsbuck's main perks over other sun-based sweepers is its access to Jump Kick, which enables it to easily whistle past Steel-types such as Aggron and Alolan Sandslash, threats that the likes of Leafeon otherwise struggle to deal with. STAB Double-Edge, boosted by Swords Dance and Normalium Z, also allows Sawsbuck to break through physically defensive walls like Weezing and Tangela. Unfortunately, despite Sawsbuck's solid Speed, it's still dependent on sun being active to function, as threats such as Jynx and Primeape outspeed it otherwise and OHKO it. Sawsbuck's defensive typing also gives it six weaknesses to common types including Fighting, Flying, and Ice, making it easy to revenge kill should sun not be up. Users of Mach Punch such as Hitmonchan and Gurdurr are especially threatening, as they always hit Sawsbuck first with a super effective move and punch through its mediocre defenses. Furthermore, setup is mandatory in order for Sawsbuck to power through foes, and finding time to set up is difficult given its several aforementioned weaknesses. The prevalence of bulky Calm Mind Oricorio-G is a major roadblock for Sawsbuck, as it possesses a resistance or immunity to all of its attacks. Lastly, Sawsbuck competes with Leafeon and other Chlorophyll users such as Shiftry for a teamslot, as these Pokemon possess their own useful traits such as high physical bulk and STAB priority in Sucker Punch, respectively.

Moves
========

Swords Dance gives Sawsbuck the functionality of a wallbreaker and setup sweeper. Double-Edge is a powerful STAB move capable of breaking through physically bulky Pokemon like Weezing, Mesprit, Musharna, and Tangela with Normalium Z and Swords Dance boosts. Horn Leech is Sawsbuck's Grass-type STAB move that hits Rock-, Water-, and Ground-types such as Regirock, Omastar, and Golurk while also recovering 50% of damage dealt. Jump Kick fills in the last slot for its ability to target Steel-types such as Aggron and Togedemaru.

Set Details
========

An Adamant nature increases Sawsbuck's offensive presence, and as it's already able to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame in sunny weather, a Jolly nature isn't necessary. Chlorophyll is important for Sawsbuck to function, doubling its Speed when under sun. Normalium Z gives Sawsbuck a one-time powerful attack, which lets it break through walls such as Weezing and defensive Mesprit and lacks Double-Edge's recoil. Life Orb is a viable option over Normalium Z for well-rounded damage output and the ability to run a Z-Move on another teammate, but the recoil caused by both this item and Double-Edge reduces Sawsbuck's longevity and can force it to use Horn Leech on crucial turns to avoid being KOed by recoil.

Usage Tips
========

Sawsbuck serves as both a wallbreaker and late-game sweeper. It can utilize Swords Dance and Normalium Z to punch holes through walls for other teammates, while at the same time it can put its impeccable Speed tier to use to clean up late-game. Since Sawsbuck's frailty and common weaknesses prevent it from reliably switching directly into attacks, bring it in safely through means of momentum from Pokemon like Mesprit and Volbeat, as they preserve Sawsbuck's limited longevity. Feel free to set up on Pokemon such as Audino, Altaria, and Clefairy lacking Thunder Wave, as due to their passive nature and poor matchup, Sawsbuck threatens to break through them. Sawsbuck can additionally pressure Pokemon like Lanturn and Silvally-Water, as while they sometimes carry Ice Beam, the prospect of Sawsbuck's Horn Leech is often enough to force a switch. An opponent may try using Protect with Pokemon like Audino and Regirock or otherwise try switching out in order to stall out sun turns, which makes for another opportunity to utilize Swords Dance. Save Sawsbuck's Z-Move for dire situations, as it's an important tool for breaking through walls as well as preventing Double-Edge's recoil. Sawsbuck will fail to break through Pokemon like Weezing and Tangela if they're healthy and Sawsbuck can no longer use its Z-Crystal. Using Breakneck Blitz can also help Sawsbuck win over matchups against powerful offensive threats such as Drampa and Alolan Exeggutor, which can otherwise survive an unboosted Double-Edge if kept relatively healthy.

Team Options
========

Having sun up is key for Sawsbuck to function, so setters such as Regirock and Volbeat are important for granting it a Chlorophyll boost; Regirock can provide additional support through Stealth Rock, while Volbeat can comfortably switch into priority moves such as Mach Punch. Mesprit and Liepard can also provide support through Thunder Wave, and all of these can pivot with U-turn or Explosion to bring Sawsbuck in safely. Wallbreakers such as Victreebel and Ninetales are valued on sun teams, as they can weaken physically bulky Pokemon such as Gurdurr and Gourgeist-XL. Victreebel can additionally absorb Toxic Spikes by switching in. These Pokemon appreciate Sawsbuck being able to power through specially bulky Pokemon such as Muk and Probopass. Other sun sweepers like Shiftry and Exeggutor appreciate Sawsbuck's ability to remove Steel-types with Jump Kick, as well as its ability to check miscellaneous threats to sun teams such as Drampa and Munchlax. Pokemon such as Mesprit and Lilligant can provide Healing Wish support, giving Sawsbuck a second chance if it was used early-game.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Wild Charge covers Oricorio-G, which is immune to or resists Sawsbuck's other moves. However, this move has limited use outside of this and is therefore hard to justify fitting into a moveslot. In a similar manner, Toxic cripples Gourgeist-XL by putting it on a permanent timer, but this offers little utility elsewhere. Sawsbuck can function independently from sun teams and utilize its other ability, Serene Grace. This ability, alongside the move Headbutt, can be used to cause an opposing Pokemon to flinch 60% of the time, which can be utilized with Thunder Wave to minimize the chances of a foe being able to attack. However, faster Pokemon such as Scyther, Swanna, and Choice Scarf Primeape are quite common and can revenge kill Sawsbuck provided they're not paralyzed. A Jolly nature allows Sawsbuck to outspeed Pokemon like Skuntank and Lilligant outside of sun, but the drawback in power is considerable. Return is an alternative STAB move to Double-Edge that doesn't deal recoil damage, but it is not recommended for similar reasons to running a Jolly nature, as Sawsbuck forfeits a lot of its attacking power. Most notably, Sawsbuck will fail to OHKO Weezing with a Swords Dance-boosted Breakneck Blitz.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Lack of Sun**: Without sun being active, Sawsbuck's merely decent Speed is exposed, letting threats such as Jynx, Primeape, and Swanna outspeed and OHKO it. Opposing weather setters such as Abomasnow and Aurorus can freely shift weather by switching in and can even outspeed Sawsbuck if holding a Choice Scarf, but they must be careful about taking an unwanted Jump Kick. Other weather sweepers such as Alolan Sandslash and Ludicolo can take advantage of either hail or rain being active and can use their STAB or coverage moves to exploit Sawsbuck's common weaknesses and poor defenses.

**Priority Moves**: Moves such as Kangaskhan's Fake Out and Spiritomb's Sucker Punch hit Sawsbuck first. Fake Out notably burns a turn of sun, while Spiritomb can also threaten Sawsbuck with Will-O-Wisp. Additionally, Abomasnow's Ice Shard and Hitmonchan's Mach Punch are super effective and severely dent Sawsbuck.

**Oricorio-G**: Oricorio-G is able to take a hit from Sawsbuck and OHKO it back with Supersonic Skystrike due to its immunties and resistances to its moves. Bulky variants of Calm Mind Oricorio-G are even able to switch into Sawsbuck after a Swords Dance boost. Oricorio-G lacking Flyinium Z are forced to risk a coinflip with Hurricane due to sun, however.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Without any boosts or a lack of a Z-Crystal, Sawsbuck struggles to break through Pokemon like Weezing and Tangela, which threaten to do serious damage to it in return. Gourgeist-XL gets a special mention, as it's immune to Double-Edge and Jump Kick, takes negligible damage from Horn Leech, and threatens to burn Sawsbuck with Will-O-Wisp.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Access to Chlorophyll and a boosting move in Swords Dance allows Sawsbuck to become a formidable sweeper under sun.
  • Thanks to Chlorophyll, Sawsbuck is able to outspeed every unboosted threat in the PU metagame when under the sun, as well as Choice Scarf users such as Jynx and Togedemaru, even with an Adamant nature. (Kinda redundant considering what the first point is, merge them together, especially since the first point could use more detail.)
  • While it faces direct competition from Leafeon in this role (What role? SD Sun sweeper? In that case, it competes with Shiftry too.), its access to Jump Kick lets it easily whistle past Steel-types such as Aggron and Probopass, Pokemon that Leafeon otherwise struggles with. (I'd 100% mention Ferroseed over Probopass, given it walls Leafeon otherwise and Probopass probably drops to a boosted Leaf Blade from Leafeon.) STAB Double-Edge, boosted through Swords Dance and Normalium Z, also allows Sawsbuck to break through physically defensive walls like Weezing and Tangela.
  • Unfortunately, despite Sawsbuck's solid Speed, it's still dependent on sun being active to function, as otherwise, threats such as Pyroar and Choice Scarf Primeape outspeed and OHKO Sawsbuck with ease.
  • Sawsbuck's defensive typing gives it six weaknesses to common types, including Fighting, Flying, and Ice, making it easy to revenge kill should sun not be up. Specifically, users of Mach Punch such as Hitmonchan and Gurdurr threaten to hit Sawsbuck first with a super-effective move and punch through its mediocre defenses. (This kinda overlaps with the previous point. Maybe make this one about priority specifically? Or merge them both because they're about revenge killing.)
  • Sawsbuck additionally competes with other Chlorophyll users such as Leafeon and Shiftry, as these Pokemon possess useful assets such as high physical bulk and STAB priority in Sucker Punch, respectively.
Unremarkable offensive presence before an SD, and has a hard time setting one up, too.

Moves
========

  • Swords Dance increases Sawsbuck's Attack by two stages, giving it the functionality of a wallbreaker and setup sweeper.
  • Double-Edge is a powerful STAB move, capable of breaking through physically bulky Pokemon like Weezing, Mesprit, and Musharna through Normalium Z and Swords Dance boosts. (I feel like "through" isn't the word you're looking for in the second usage of it. I would say "with" or "alongside" instead.)
  • Horn Leech is Sawsbuck's Grass-type STAB move that hits Rock-, Water-, and Ground-types such as Regirock, Lanturn, and Golurk, while also recovering 50% of damage dealt.
  • Jump Kick fills in the last slot for its ability to target Steel-types such as Aggron and Togedemaru. However, prediction is necessary to make use of this move, as certain Steel-types like Ferroseed often carry Protect (Ferroseed is really the only one, I'd remove the Steel-types part and throw Audino in there.) and Jump Kick failing to land results in Sawsbuck taking 50% damage. (Don't forget Ghost-types that might try to pivot to get Jump Kick recoil and stall sun turns.)

Set Details
========

  • Maximum Attack and Speed investment allows Sawsbuck to hit hard and outspeed most threats in tandem with Chlorophyll.
  • An Adamant nature strengthens its offensive presence, and as it's already able to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame in sunny weather, a Jolly nature isn't necessary.
  • Chlorophyll is important for Sawsbuck to function, doubling its speed when under sun.
  • Normalium Z gives Sawsbuck a one-time powerful attack, which lets it break through walls such as Weezing and Audino, and also negates Double-Edge's recoil. (I'd rather something else over Audino given its average physical bulk.)
  • Life Orb is a viable option over Normalium Z for well-rounded damage output, but the recoil caused by both this item and Double-Edge reduces Sawsbuck's longevity, and can force it to use Horn Leech on crucial turns.

Usage Tips
========

  • Sawsbuck serves as both a wallbreaker and late-game sweeper. It can utilize Swords Dance and Normalium Z to punch holes through walls for other teammates, while at the same time, it can put its impeccable speed tier to use and clean up late-game.
  • As its speed and power are important, keep Sawsbuck away from crippling status moves like Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp, as they can either slow Sawsbuck down or cut its attacking power in half. (I dunno, this point is just really obvious and probably unremarkable.)
  • Sawsbuck is frail and sports several common weaknesses, meaning it can't reliably switch directly into attacks. Bring it in safely through means of momentum from Pokemon like Mesprit and Volbeat, as they preserve Sawsbuck's limited longevity.
  • Feel free to set up on Pokemon like Gastrodon, Audino, and Lanturn, as due to their passive nature and poor matchup, Sawsbuck threatens to break through them. (I would replace Gastrodon to be safe.) However, Sawsbuck must fear the occasional Ice Beam from offensive Lanturn variants. (Toxic from Audino, too.)
  • An opponent (such as?) may try using Protect or switching out in order to stall sun turns, which makes this another opportunity in which Sawsbuck can utilize Swords Dance.
  • Save Sawsbuck's Z-Move for dire situations, as it's an important tool for breaking through walls, as well as preventing Double-Edge's recoil. Sawsbuck will fail to break through Pokemon like Weezing and Tangela if they're healthy and Sawsbuck can no longer use its Z-Crystal. (It can also be used to KO a Pokemon that would otherwise KO back, especially if Sawsbuck is unboosted.)
Using Jump Kick smartly to avoid recoil. or just skillfully predict the 1/20 of turns where you'll miss

Team Options

  • Pokemon such as Mesprit and Lilligant can provide Healing Wish support, giving Sawsbuck a second chance if it was used early-game. (Lilligant feels shaky as it won't usually find itself on sun teams, or, at least I don't think it should.)

Other Options
=============

  • Sawsbuck can function independently from sun teams and utilize its other ability, Serene Grace. This ability, alongside the move Headbutt, can be used to potentially flinch an opponent 60% of the time. However, as useful as this this asset can be, it's very luck-based. Additionally, without Chlorophyll on its side, it's frequently outsped and able to be revenge killed by Pokemon such as Pyroar, Swanna, and Choice Scarf Primeape. (Mention Thunder Wave, too.)
  • Return is an alternative STAB move to Double-Edge that doesn't deal recoil damage, but this is not recommended due to the power that Sawsbuck sorely misses out on. Most notably, Sawsbuck will fail to OHKO Weezing with a Swords Dance boosted Breakneck Blitz.
  • Wild Charge dispatches Oricorio-G, which is either immune or resists Sawsbuck's other moves. However, this move has limited use outside of this, and is therefore hard to justify fitting onto a moveslot.
  • Stomping Tantrum is a safer option over Jump Kick versus Pokemon like Spiky Shield Togedemaru and to Probopass and Aggron due to its perfect accuracy, but this is offset by its lower Base Power and inability to do adequate damage to Ferroseed, making this a mediocre choice overall. (Spiky Shield Togedemaru is rare, and Jump Kick rarely misses anyways. I would scrap this.)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Lack of Sun**: Without sun being active, Sawsbuck's only decent speed is exposed, letting threats such as Jynx, Primeape, and Pyroar outspeed and OHKO it. Opposing weather setters such as Abomasnow and Aurorus can freely shift weather by switching in, but must be careful about taking an unwanted Jump Kick. (I would point out how deadly their Choice Scarf sets can be to both Sawsbuck and the team overall.) Other weather sweepers such as Alolan Sandslash and Ludicolo can take advantage of either hail or rain being active and can use their STAB or their coverage moves to target Sawsbuck's common weaknesses and poor defenses.

**Priority Moves**: Moves such as Kangaskhan's Fake Out and Spiritomb's Sucker Punch hit Sawsbuck first. (I feel there must be a better way to end the sentence lol.) Additionally, Abomasnow's Ice Shard and Hitmonchan's Mach Punch are super-effective and severely dent Sawsbuck. Fake Out also burns a turn of Sun. (Move this up to where you actually talk about Kangaskhan.)

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Without any boosts or a lack of a Z-Crystal, Sawsbuck can't break through Pokemon like Weezing and Tangela, which threaten to do serious damage to it in return. (Replace the "lack of a Z-Crystal" point with the Z-move being used up, as LO isn't even slashed on the main set.) Gourgeist-XL gets a special mention, as it's immune to Double-Edge and Jump Kick, takes negligible damage from Horn Leech, and threatens to burn Sawsbuck with Will-O-Wisp.

Oricorio-Sensu might merit its own special bullet, especially the bulky set, as it's one of the few, if not the only Pokemon to wall Sawsbuck's entire set. Just keep in mind it needs to use SSSS to get off the reliable hit as Hurricane hits only 50% of the time in sun.

While I do see why this concern was raised, it doesn't really feel like that big of an issue. It's explaining what the previous bullet without being overly convoluted or anything like that.
While it faces direct competition from Leafeon in this role (What role? SD Sun sweeper? In that case, it competes with Shiftry too.)
Again, while I see why this was mentioned, it is mentioned not long before this point, so it feels a bit too nitpicky.

  • Feel free (thank you i will) to set up on Pokemon like Clefairy, Audino, and Lanturn, as due to their passive nature and poor matchup, Sawsbuck threatens to break through them (clefairy is an odd one. it's risking trying to swords dance on a potential thunder wave. you could specify calm mind though, which is by far the most common set). However, Sawsbuck must fear the occasional Ice Beam from offensive Lanturn variants and Thunder Wave from Clefairy. (see above ig)
  • An opponent may try using Protect with Pokemon like Audino and Combusken, or otherwise try switching out in order to stall out sun turns, which makes this another opportunity in which Sawsbuck can utilize Swords Dance. • Sawsbuck's defensive typing gives it six weaknesses to common types, including Fighting, Flying, and Ice, making it easy to revenge kill should sun not be up. meanwhile this goes better with the first half of hte above point. really it doesnt matter as long as it makes sense in writeup, but i would make sure the ideas are organized together so as to make sense, so u don't go from "slow outside of sun" to "prio sucks even with sun" to "lots of weaknesses"
  • Furthermore, setup is mandatory in order for Sawsbuck to power through foes, and finding time to set up is difficult given its aforementioned several weaknesses.
  • Despite Sawsbuck's well-defined niches, it still competes with Leafeon and other Chlorophyll users such as Shiftry for a teamslot, as these Pokemon possess their own useful traits such as high physical bulk and STAB priority in Sucker Punch, respectively.

  • Swords Dance increases Sawsbuck's Attack by two stages, giving it the functionality of a wallbreaker and setup sweeper.
  • Double-Edge is a powerful STAB move, capable of breaking through physically bulky Pokemon like Weezing, Mesprit, Musharna, and Tangela with Normalium Z and Swords Dance boosts.
  • Horn Leech is Sawsbuck's Grass-type STAB move that hits Rock-, Water-, and Ground-types such as Regirock, Omastar, and Golurk, while also recovering 50% of damage dealt.
  • Jump Kick fills in the last slot for its ability to target Steel-types such as Aggron and Togedemaru.

Set Details
========

  • A Jolly nature marginally weakens Sawsbuck's power, but allows it to outspeed Pokemon like Skuntank and Lilligant outside of sun. yeah jolly is not good enough to warrant set details. if u really want it in OO then fine but tbh i wouldnt even mention it there, this should always be running +atk imo
  • Chlorophyll is important for Sawsbuck to function, doubling its speed when under sun.
  • Normalium Z gives Sawsbuck a one-time powerful attack, which lets it break through walls such as Weezing and Defensive Mesprit, and also negates Double-Edge's recoil.
  • Life Orb is a viable option over Normalium Z for well-rounded damage output, but the recoil caused by both this item and Double-Edge reduces Sawsbuck's longevity, and can force it to use Horn Leech on crucial turns.

Usage Tips
========

  • Sawsbuck serves as both a wallbreaker and late-game sweeper. It can utilize Swords Dance and Normalium Z to punch holes through walls for other teammates, while at the same time, it can put its impeccable speed tier to use and clean up late-game.
  • Sawsbuck is frail and sports several common weaknesses, meaning it can't reliably switch directly into attacks. Bring it in safely through means of momentum from Pokemon like Mesprit and Volbeat, as they preserve Sawsbuck's limited longevity.
  • Feel free to set up on Pokemon like Calm Mind Clefairy any clef set rly, except for the rare twave which can still be run alongside cm, Audino, and Lanturn, as due to their passive nature and poor matchup, Sawsbuck threatens to break through them. However, Sawsbuck must fear the occasional Ice Beam from offensive Lanturn variants and Thunder Wave from Clefairy twave counts as occasional but ice beam is always run on lanturn's most common set so idk that u can call it rare.
  • An opponent may try using Protect with Pokemon like Audino and Regirock, or otherwise try switching out in order to stall out sun turns, which makes this another opportunity in which Sawsbuck can utilize Swords Dance.
Using Breakneck Blitz can also help Sawsbuck win over matchups against powerful offensive threats such as Drampa and Alolan Exeggutor, which can otherwise survive an unboosted Double-Edge with ease.

Team Options
========

  • Having sun up is key for Sawsbuck to function, so setters of sun such as Regirock and Volbeat are important for granting it a Chlorophyll boost; Regirock can provide additional support through Stealth Rock, while Volbeat can comfortably switch into priority moves such as Mach Punch. Mesprit and Liepard can also provide support through Thunder Wave, and all of these can pivot with U-Turn or Explosion to bring Sawsbuck in safely.
  • Wallbreakers such as Victreebel and Pyroar are valued on sun teams, and can weaken physically bulky Pokemon such as Gurdurr and Gourgeist-XL. These Pokemon appreciate Sawsbuck being able to power through specially bulky Pokemon such as Muk and Probopass.
  • Other weather sweepers like Shiftry and Exeggutor appreciate Sawsbuck's ability to remove Steel-types with Jump Kick, as well as check other threats to sun teams such as Drampa and Munchlax.
  • Pokemon such as Mesprit and Lilligant can provide Healing Wish support, giving Sawsbuck a second chance if it was used early-game.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Sawsbuck can function independently from sun teams and utilize its other ability, Serene Grace. This ability, alongside the move Headbutt, can be used to potentially flinch an opponent 60% of the time. This can be utilized with Thunder Wave to minimize the chances of an opponent being able to attack. However, faster Pokemon are quite common, as Sawsbuck is able to be revenge killed by Pokemon such as Pyroar, Swanna, and Choice Scarf Primeape, provided they're not paralyzed.
  • Similarly, Toxic cripples Gourgeist-XL by putting it on a permanent timer, but this offers little utility elsewhere.

Checks and Counters
===================

Other weather sweepers such as Alolan Sandslash and Ludicolo can take advantage of either hail or rain being active and can use their STAB or their coverage moves to target Sawsbuck's common weaknesses and poor defenses.

**Priority Moves**: Moves such as Kangaskhan's Fake Out and Spiritomb's Sucker Punch hit Sawsbuck first. Additionally, Abomasnow's Ice Shard and Hitmonchan's Mach Punch are super effective and severely dent Sawsbuck. Fake Out also burns a turn of sun.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Without any boosts or a lack of a Z-Crystal, Sawsbuck can't break through Pokemon like Weezing and Tangela, which threaten to do serious damage to it in return. Gourgeist-XL gets a special mention, as it's immune to Double-Edge and Jump Kick, takes negligible damage from Horn Leech, and threatens to burn Sawsbuck with Will-O-Wisp.

**Oricorio-Sensu**: While it can't safely switch in, Oricorio-G boasts either an immunity or a resistance to all of Sawsbuck's attacks, and threatens to OHKO in return with a Supersonic Skystrike, bypassing sun cutting off Hurricane's accuracy.

Having sun up is key for Sawsbuck to function, so setters of sun such as Regirock and Volbeat are important for granting it a Chlorophyll boost; Regirock can provide additional support through Stealth Rock, while Volbeat can comfortably switch into priority moves such as Mach Punch.

Wild Charge covers Oricorio-G, which is either immune to or resists Sawsbuck's other moves. However, this move has limited use outside of this (RC) and is therefore hard to justify fitting into a moveslot. In a similar manner, Toxic cripples Gourgeist-XL by putting it on a permanent timer, but this offers little utility elsewhere. Sawsbuck can function independently from sun teams and utilize its other ability, Serene Grace. This ability, alongside the move Headbutt, can be used to flinch cause an opponent opposing Pokemon to flinch 60% of the time, (comma) This which can be utilized with Thunder Wave to minimize the chances of an opponent being able to attack. Most notably, Sawsbuck will fail to OHKO Weezing with a Swords Dance-boosted (AH) Breakneck Blitz.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Lack of Sun**: Without sun being active, Sawsbuck's merely decent speed is exposed, letting threats such as Jynx, Primeape, and Swanna outspeed and OHKO it. Opposing weather setters such as Abomasnow and Aurorus can freely shift weather by switching in (RC) and can even outspeed Sawsbuck if holding a Choice Scarf, but they must be careful about taking an unwanted Jump Kick. Other weather sweepers such as Alolan Sandslash and Ludicolo can take advantage of either hail or rain being active and can use their STAB or their coverage moves to exploit Sawsbuck's common weaknesses and poor defenses.

**Oricorio-Sensu Oricorio-G**: Oricorio-G is able to take a hit from Sawsbuck and OHKO it back with Supersonic Skystrike due to its immunties and resistances to its moves. Bulky variants of Calm Mind Oricorio-G are even able to switch into Sawsbuck after a Swords Dance boost. Oricorio-G lacking Flyinium Z are forced to risk a 50/50 coinflip with Hurricane due to sun, however.

STAB Double-Edge, boosted throughby Swords Dance and Normalium Z, also allows Sawsbuck to break through physically defensive walls like Weezing and Tangela. The prevalence of bulky Calm Mind Oricorio-G is a major road(remove space)block for Sawsbuck, as it possesses a resistance or immunity to all of its attacks. Lastly, Sawsbuck competes with Leafeon and other Chlorophyll users such as Shiftry for a teamslot, as these Pokemon possess their own useful traits such as high physical bulk and STAB priority in Sucker Punch, respectively.

Moves

Set Details

Maximum Attack and Speed investment allows Sawsbuck to hit hard and outspeed most threats in tandem with Chlorophyll. An Adamant nature increases itAn Adamant nature increases Sawsbuck's offensive presence, and as it's already able to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame in sunny weather, a Jolly nature isn't necessary. Chlorophyll is important for Sawsbuck to function, doubling its Speed when under sun. Normalium Z gives Sawsbuck a one-time powerful attack, which lets it break through walls such as Weezing and defensive Mesprit and negatelacks Double-Edge's recoil.

Usage Tips
========

Using Breakneck Blitz can also help Sawsbuck win over matchups against powerful offensive threats such as Drampa and Alolan Exeggutor, which can otherwise survive an unboosted Double-Edge if kept relatively healthy.
