Gothitelle is an incredibly niche but potentially threatening trapper thanks to its ability to trap and PP stall a variety of Pokemon like Great Tusk, Blissey, Corviknight, and Clefable. Trick gives Gothitelle the ability to cripple walls like Toxapex, Blissey, and Dondozo and use them as setup fodder and PP stall them. Calm Mind boosts its defenses and offenses if it is running Stored Power, while Rest lets it have recovery and lets it beat status. Charm allows Gothitelle to weaken Pokemon like Great Tusk and set up on them. An alternative is Stored Power, which gives Gothitelle an attacking move allowing it to not get entirely crippled by Taunt and potentially allow it to deal damage after trapping. Both of Gothitelle's choices in Tera Type give it a useful defensive typing, with Tera Fairy being useful to check Pokemon like Great Tusk, Arceus-Dark, and Palkia-O while Tera Steel is helpful to provide an immunity to Toxic as well as giving it a better matchup into Pokemon like Kingambit and Dialga. Setup sweepers like Swords Dance Chien-Pao, Necrozma-DW, and Zamazenta-C appreciate Gothitelle trapping and removing Unaware threats Dondozo and Clefable. Slow pivoting from Magearna and Mandibuzz can help Gothitelle get a safe pivot to trap.
