Sceptile has arrived.

Since Salamence has roost, try running it with Life Orb. Mixape usually run Nasty Plot to give their special attacks that extra boost.

Kudos for using the nickname "Lunaphage". Pure awesome.

This is my team. It has Sceptile in it because he is my all time favorite pokemon, and 'coz he ROCKS at battling.

The Team

130.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers *** Olympus
Intimidate
212 HP / 16 Atk / 180 Def / 100 Spe
Adamant
-Dragon Dance
-Taunt
-Waterfall
-Earthquake

An absolute beast. He may seem like he is walled to death by fellow Gyaras and Mences, but he doesn't. It may seem stupid, but when I send him out in the middle of the game (he's not my lead), he usually gets around 3 DDs, enough to 2HKO Mences and Gyaras if their EVs arenot completely focused
on defense or HP.

EQ and Waterfall arent covering each other well, so i would suggest you to use Se instead of EQ. There arent a lot of Pokemon which arre hit harder by EQ then by one of the two others. Metagross is the only important one i can think of atm.
Btw: where did you get the nice pic?

205.png

Forretress @ Leftovers *** Metallica
Sturdy
252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SDef
Relaxed

-Stealth Rock
-Toxic Spikes
-Rapid Spin
-Zap Cannon

Walls Weavile, sets up, kills Mence and Gyara. My own Mence and Gyara appreciate his spin support. No explosion just because he's my only Physical Wall.

zap cannon is a bit lol, as 50% accuray is nothing to rely on. Consider the normal Spikes over Toxis spikes, as you cant paralyse the opponent anymore after he got poisoned.

Infernape @ Life Orb *** Braveheart
Blaze
100 Atk / 176 S.Atk / 232 Spd
Naïve
-Flamethrower
-Close Combat
-Grass Knot
-HP Ice

Kills Skarmory and Bronzong, the main counters of Sceptile, who is the star of this team. Notable is also that he OHKOs that damn pink nurse, and rapes most other walls with ease. (and pleasure. ;))

Ok

493.png

Cresselia @ Leftovers *** Lunaphage
Levitate
96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Bold
-Calm Mind
-Charge Beam
-Ice Beam
- Moonlight

CMCress, the beautiful disaster. Cress is beautiful, and it turns opponents into a disaster. Tankish, but is also my main defense from special attackers.

Cm and Charbe beam arent that great together, as you wont benefit from Charge Beams adavantages after a few Cms. give him more Def and Hp EVs aswell,as i needs some to take strong hits from CBers and comparaible Pokemon.

373.png

Salamence @ Leftovers *** Megamence
Intimidate
120 Atk / 252 SpA / 136 Spe
Mild
-Draco Meteor
-Brick Break
-Roost
-Flamethrower

Defensive Mixmence designed to last long in battles. OHKOS most stuff, 2HKOs most of the rest. Blissey can go to hell. >:( Thanks Infernape.

Seriously, use a Life Orb. It needs the Power to kill all the Pokemon, and you can heal yourself up again

254.png

Sceptile @ Leftovers *** Greenblade
Overgrow
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4HP
Jolly
-Leaf Blade
-Dragon Claw
-Brick Break
-Swords Dance

Mah main man. As you may have noticed, he is my only all out sweeper. Infernape is Wall-Raper, Salamence is not quite a 100% sweeper, and Gyarados is a set-up sweeper. (DD) Sceptile is underrated with its base 120 speed. You may say that me using him is gimmicky, but I just know this guy will help me win lots of battles.

Dragon Claw and Bb dont have enough Power to do much damage, doesnt he learn Stone Edge or X-Scizzor?

Rate.

Many thanks got to Blue Harves for helping me with this team.

I am too lazy too rate the team as a whole now, maybe i will edit it later :P

You will have some Props with Cresse if Gyara is dead, but on average you win with one DD boost.
Dropping Salemence is a good idea though, as Infernape already does its Job. Hera would asborb status nicely, so go with this set:

Hera @ Choice Scarf
252 Atk/ 252 Spe
Adamant

Close Combat
Stone Edge
Megahorn
Sleep Talk

Cresselia could use this spread better:
140 Hp/ 176 def/ 64 Spe/ 132 SAtk

Oh, i forgot to post it. The Seeder would be a good, as he helps you to break some stall teams. Some stauts would be nice aswell, you could try Grass whistle, even though it has a crappyp accuracy.

Leech Seed, Leaf Storm, Substitute and Grasswhistle @ Lefties, max Speed and SAtk

Yes, because APE CANT SET UP AND SWEEP and STILL LIVE!

Telling, you, my Ape is the best MixApe set.
No, perhaps it's the worst

Ever heard of using Scheme on the switch? Ah, now there's a new idea. Without Scheme, you might as well go SpecsFire Blast to 2HKO Cress, Noir, and Tomb

And I'm telling you that a MixApe without Nasty Plot is totally pathetic

Oh, you'll want to

Expecially since Cress walls this team to oblivion

your only other option to CM up with Cress and hope to stall it, and that's hoping he doesn't have Weavile or Tar, or it doesn't have Toxic or CM itself

Either way, you're in one hell of a rid if a Cress shows up

Moonlight on Cress' is rather risky with all these Sandstorm teams around, maybe consider the resttalk variant?

ResTalk Cresselia is probably going to be more helpful here, since SS is dominating the current game.

As for Sceptile, if anything, I would run Sub without Leech Seed. And I was wondering why you're using it's base 85 attack, when it has base 105 SpAtk that's just wonderful. You could easily run something like Substitute, and a combonation of Energy Ball or Grass Knot (it's a preference thing), Dragon Pulse or HP Ice, and Focus Blast. If you sub down to a Petaya Berry, you get 463 SpAtk, plus Overgrow activiates, giving Energy Ball 180 BP, and Grass Knot up to 270 BP (not including a SE hit). Basically, your STAB Grass attacks are going to do a hell of a lot of damage with a boost from your Petaya Berry.

obligatory cress walls your team put plot on ape post

you're raikou weak, specsmence weak, zapdos weak, etc. that mixmence is NOT a bulkymence, it's just a salamence that can't do what it could be doing due to a lacking of Life Orb.

You need a special wall. If a Sandstorm gets going (often), Cress is disabled (thus the resttalk posts) and the only pokemon you have that can take a special hit (well, a thunderbolt) is down and out for the count.

I also agree with putting Substitute on Sceptile, and changing it to special. If not, you could go with Substitute + Swords Dance and Leaf Blade + Rock Slide, as that way you can sub down for a leichi boost while swords dancing and then get more of a boost at <1/3 HP for Leaf Blade.

subseed / knot / hp ice or fire

yes, you forgot to edit.

rather than presenting a solution I'm going to ask you a question:

you lead with gyara, your opponent leads with zapdos. zapdos uses thunderbolt, backed with Life Orb or Specs. what do switch to?

Why ResTalk Heracross? While Heracross does have decent SpDef, it's not bulky enough to keep taking hits while Resting / Sleep Talking. Machamp and Heatran are two examples of pokemon that make fine damage dealing ResTalkers. They have good resistances and HP stats, meaning they can take a couple of hits before going down.

1.) First, determine general stereotype for team and see if there is a case of Pokemon A outclassing Pokemon B (or move A outclassing move B) on said team:

Type: Standard Balanced OU
Outclassed/Alterable Pokemon:

Gyarados is fine, though I might seriously suggest Stone Edge as a substitute over Earthquake because of opposing leading Gyarados.

Forretress: Zap Cannon is fine. Though I do recognize the desire to include Rapid Spin on your team, I feel in DP, and especially because you aren't running a Stall team, that Rapid Spin just slows down your strategy. I would replace it with Earthquake to catch Heatran or Infernape by surprise on the switch.

Heracross should have Close Combat, not Brick Break. Close Combat is simply a superior move. I also question the need for the restalker. This isn't hitting hard enough, and band would solve that. Sleep Talk still gives one free move after switching in on a sleep move.

I don't like your Cresselia at all. I don't understand why you have 252 SpA EVs, as though HP Electric will now 2HKO Gyara guaranteed, it will still not guarantee a OHKO on Chomp / Mence with Ice Beam without a Calm Mind. Also, running speed to outspeed Jolly Ttar seems unnecessary to me because you aren't running a move to even deal mediocre damage to it. I would suggest only dumping 124 SpA EVs, as the 217 SpA will net you a 2HKO on Gyara on average. Then, remove all the speed EVs and dump 208 into HP for 433 HP, (optimal leftovers recovery +1 for Stealth Rock damage), and 176 into Def, for for 352 Def. I actually prefer Charge Beam and then replacing Calm Mind for HP Fighting to do something to Ttar / Weavile, but that's alright.

Sceptile should run HP Fire for other Grass switch ins and Steel switch ins.

2.) Determine if team can handle the most common threats of the CURRENT metagame, as the general threat list really should be covered in a good RMT. Also, possibly emphasize a few threatening metagame combinations:

Sub/SDChomp: You handle it well enough with a Bulky Cresselia and Gyarados's Intimidate. I would be careful leaving Forry into Chomp due to Fire Blast / Fang, and Salamence / Sceptile (with HP Fire) get owned by it. Be wary if Cresselia every drop to sub 80%, as a Life Orb Swords Dance Outrage will do enough to kill Cresselia, and you don't have Explosion on Forretress to then come in and revenge kill. Be sure to take advantage of Gyarados's Intimidate. Should be wary of.

SDLuke: SDLuke is a threat to you late game, especially with Stealth Rock down. However, your double Intimidate + hopeful Earthquake addition on Forretress will help you there. Problem / Should be wary of.

Non-Bulky DDGyara: Your own Gyarados does well, and Cresselia is a great counter. Forry will even Zap it 50% of the time, so no worries here. No problem.

Deoxys-S: Cresselia + Forretress don't think too much of it. You're set here. No problem.

Wobbuffet:Could give you problems. Wobb has been paired with SD Luke lately, and if it manages to remove one of your Intimidaters, Luke might be able to rip through your team. Should be wary of.

Mamoswine: Cresselia / Gyarados cover this well enough, and Salamence can Intimidate on an Earthquake. Heracross OHKOs...you're good here. No problem.

Mixape + Gengar: Your big problem is here. Mixape + Gengar really run through your team. Huge concern.

General ability to deal with switched in BandCross or SpecsMence: BandCross is dealt with by Gyarados, though Specsmence really has no safe switch in unless you decide to pump SpD EVs into Cresselia. Should be wary of.

Response to <arbitrary Pokemon> being put to sleep: I assume Heracross is your sleep absorber, so you're fine here. No problem.

Can it deal with Baton Pass: Bulky Gyarados and Sub Seed Sceptile save you here. No problem.

Do specific, non gimmick teams, like rain or trick room, pose unusual difficulties:Gyarados and Cresselia both don't get fazed too badly by rain, though Forry, Mence and Sceptile all do. Hera can take one hit to deal back massive damage. Trick Room doesn't bother you too much. No problem.

3.)Suggest substitutions, but only if new weaknesses do not then override old weakness cover up. Don’t suggest what Pokemon can help the team if you don’t suggest what it should replace; there aren’t 7 slots.

Substitution: Well, before we get into in depth substitution analysis, I would prefer you to consider my slight adjustments to the team.

4.) Random typing check:

The typing specific synergy of the team is actually decent. You only have 1 type that you are 3* weak to, Fire, and only 4 types you are 2* weak to: Ice, Flying, Bug, Rock.

Fire, Ice, Flying and Rock are the 4 types that I refer to as having "type advantages" over your team. What I mean by this is that you have more weaknesses to these 4 than you do resistances / immunities. Might be something to consider when considering substitutes.

5.) General Opinions: None for now.

You should run Close Combat because A.) Heracross doesn't have that much staying power to begin with. B.) He also recomended you switch to CB Heracross.

First of all DFA, grats on the nicknames, so original! :)

Well, I like your team, adding Sceptile was original.
Anyways...

Gyarados: Standard I suppose, Ice Fang is another option if you face leading Dragons. If you fear other Gyaras, you'd need Stone Edge.

Forretress: Nice. Not the usual Forri I see. Nothing much to suggest here except beware of rival Heracross when using Toxic Spikes.

Heracross: I like the concept too, RestTalk Hera is quite Bulky. Maybe use Stone Edge if you dont want SE on Gyara?

Cresselia: I say HP Electric. Higher Base Power than Gharge Beam. Besides, CM already accomplishes what CB attempts to do.

Salamence: Odd, I've never seen how this works. Seems promising, though you may want a more defensive Pokemon as a back up in case your primary walls fail.

Sceptile: Nice. HP Ice beats Flying and Dragon types that Energy Ball can't handle while Fire Types melt Bug, Ice and Steel Types also things Grass can't handle. I say HP Fire for better type coverage.

Overall, a unique team. Much better than the multitude of 6 Random OU Pokemon put together I see usually on RMTs. Keep up the good work!

I personally prefer Focus Punch, Rest, Sleep Talk, Megahorn with Life Orb>Leftovers. a 50% chance of picking megahorn is awesome.

Evs:252 hp, enough speed to beat jolly ttar, rest in attack.

Sleep Talk doesn't pick Focus Punch, and a 50% chance to attack with a 8PP isn't appealing, since you could just use Stone Edge to get greater coverge, and have a 66% chance to attack.
