[SET]
name: Defensive Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Roost
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Bullet Punch
item: Buginium Z / Leftovers
ability: Technician
nature: Adamant
evs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 144 Def / 96 SpD / 4 Spe

Scizor’s excellent defensive typing and reliable recovery in Roost allow it to check large swaths of the metagame while also being a potent wincon with Swords Dance. Technician is the ability of choice, boosting Bullet Punch into a strong, drawback-free priority move. The given EV spread allows Scizor to avoid the 2HKO from Diancie’s Diamond Storm, 96 Special Defense EVs allow Scizor to avoid the OHKO from +1 Gigavolt Havoc from Latias, guarantee the OHKO on Amoonguss with +2 Savage Spin Out, and avoid the speed-tie with Alomomola. Buginium Z powers up U-Turn, and helps with breaking past common defensive staples such as Hippowdon and Swampert when Scizor is boosted. However, if the Z-move is taken by a teammate, Leftovers can be used for passive recovery.

[SET]
name: Offensive Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Bullet Punch
move 3: Superpower
move 4: Dual Wingbeat / Quick Attack
item: Life Orb
ability: Technician
nature: Adamant
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Scizor’s massive attack stat, high powered priority, and perfect neutral coverage mean it can function as a dangerous breaker when boosted with Swords Dance. Superpower is Scizor’s best neutral coverage move, breaking past common Steel-type threats like Mega Steelix and Celesteela, as well as slower neutral targets like Swampert and Conkeldurr. Dual Wingbeat is the best option to break past Buzzwole and Amoonguss, but Quick Attack is also viable to surprise frailer Steel-resistant revenge killers like Moltres and Infernape. Slower spreads like 92 Speed EVs to creep Klefki or 176 EVs to creep Adamant Crawdaunt can be used for more bulk, but they weaken the matchup against opposing Scizor.

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: U-turn
move 2: Bullet Punch
move 3: Superpower
move 4: Dual Wingbeat / Pursuit
item: Choice Band
ability: Technician
nature: Adamant
evs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe

Choice Band Scizor is a threatening wallbreaker and offensive pivot capable of revenge killing dangerous offensive threats like Dragon Dance Salamence and Mega Altaria with Technician boosted Bullet Punch. Superpower breaks past common Steel-resistant targets like Rotom-Wash, and is Scizor’s best option to hit Blissey with. Dual Wingbeat has solid neutral coverage and gives Scizor the ability to beat staples like Buzzwole, Amoonguss, and Conkeldurr. 176 Speed EVs creep Crawdaunt and the remaining EVs are dumped into HP to marginally improve Scizor’s bulk.
