tera type: Dark / Ice

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Swords Dance makes Chien-Pao immensely threatening, letting it break through bulky foes such as Toxapex, Great Tusk, and Corviknight.
  • Ice Spinner is a more reliable option thanks to its perfect accuracy, but Icicle Crash's power and flinch chance greatly help out against all foes that can take a hit from Chien-Pao, such as Corviknight and Great Tusk.
  • Ice Shard is a reliable priority attack mainly used to better deal with Miraidon and Koraidon.
  • Sucker Punch can be used as a stronger but prediction-reliant alternative that OHKOes Flutter Mane without a boost and OHKOes the likes of Iron Bundle and Miraidon after a boost. It also provides a favorable roll to OHKO Koraidon if it has Terastallized into the Fire typing.
  • Tera Dark boosts Crunch, allowing Chien-Pao to more reliably beat physically defensive Corviknight and Toxapex. Tera Dark Chien-Pao holding Life Orb can OHKO both Pokemon after a Swords Dance boost.
  • Tera Ice can be used instead to boost Chien Pao's Ice-type attacks. This also makes Ice Shard a better revenge killing option.
  • Sacred Sword can be used to hit foes that resist Chien-Pao's STAB moves, like Kingambit and opposing Chien-Pao.
  • Life Orb is the primary item choice because it gives Chien-Pao a lot of power while allowing it to run a Jolly nature and not lose out on potential OHKOs.
  • Heavy-Duty Boots sacrifices a lot of power but gives Chien-Pao the ability to ignore entry hazards, allowing it to come in and potentially set up multiple times throughout a game.
  • Black Glasses in conjunction with an Adamant nature can be used as an alternative to Life Orb to not have recoil while still being able to OHKO the likes of Corviknight and Toxapex after obtaining a Swords Dance boost and using Tera Dark.
  • This set can be used as both an early-game wallbreaker and a late-game sweeper thanks to Chien-Pao's strong STAB attacks and priority moves.
  • Chien-Pao has very little defensive utility, so having a defensive core for it to fall back on is recommended for balance teams. On offensive teams, it can afford to run Focus Sash to take at least one hit from foes that would usually threaten it out.
  • Great Tusk is Chien-Pao's best teammate, as Great Tusk can handle one of Chien-Pao's hardest checks in Koraidon and provide Rapid Spin support. Rapid Spin also helps keep Focus Sash intact.

letting it break through common bulky threats such as Ting-Lu, Great Tusk, and Corviknight.
i think Tinglu and tusk should be other mons like mola, pex, garg, you name it.

Chien-Pao can also use a double priority set with adamant and it's Ice STAB.
awkward writting, i would try to rephrase to something like "Chien-Pao can also run a double priority combination with an Adamant nature", then maybe explain why both in one?

i would describe what sucker hits, so stuff like bundle, tera fire/steel korai, etc.

implement to your liking, tag me if you disagree with something.

  • Swords Dance makes Chien-Pao immensely threatening, letting it break through bulky foes such as Toxapex, Great Tusk, and Corviknight.
  • Ice Spinner threatens Ground-types such as Great Tusk and Ting-Lu and is already plenty strong and after a Swords Dance, if something is getting hit by Ice Spinner it is most likely knocked out in a single hit so even though Icicle Crash provides a chance to flinch the opponent, most of the time it isn't a risk worth taking. (This is really awkward to read. I think it'd be better to just bring up when Icicle Crash is better (chance to OHKO Corviknight if holding Life Orb + flinching things you can't OHKO like defensive Great Tusk)
  • Crunch is a strong STAB that is able to hit many common defensive pokemon for neutral damage and it can potentially provide a crucial Defense drop. (dex info and self-evident)
  • Ice Shard is a reliable priority attack with the ability to OHKO many pokemon foes after a single Swords Dance boost, however Sucker Punch does have much more power, but is also prediction reliant. (break into two: Ice Shard explanation and how it revenges the two cover legendaries, then say "Sucker Punch is an alternative that is more powerful but prediction reliant" and continue the sentence you have)
  • Sucker Punch OHKOes Flutter Mane without needing a boost, but with a boost it can OHKO the likes of Iron Bundle, Miraidon, the rarer Palafin, and it also provides a favorable roll to OHKO Koraidon that Terastallized into a Fire-type.
  • Tera Dark is listed as the primary option since you rarely need the power boost on Ice Shard, while Crunch really appreciates it to be able to OHKO the likes of physically defensive Corviknight and Toxapex.
  • Tera Ice can be used instead to boost Chien Pao's Ice attacks and makes Ice Shard an even better revenge killing option.
  • Sacred Sword can be used to be able to hit pokemon that could normally take both of it's STAB options like Kingambit and opposing Chien-Pao.
  • Life Orb is the primary item because it gives it a lot of power while allowing it to run a Jolly nature and not lose on potential OHKOes.
  • Heavy-Duty Boots sacrifices a lot of power but gives it the ability to ignore entry hazards, allowing it to come in and potentially set up multiple times throughout a game.
  • Black Glasses can be used as an alternative to Life Orb to not have recoil but still be able to OHKO the likes of Corviknight and Toxapex after a Swords Dance, terastillization into Dark and an Adamant Nature.
  • This set can both be used as an early game wallbreaker and a late game sweeper thanks to strong neutral attacks and strong priority.
  • Chien-Pao has very little defensive utility so having a defensive core for it to be able to fall back on is recommended for balance teams but for offensive teams you can afford to run an item like Focus Sash to not need to switch in front of pokemon that would usually threaten it out.
  • Great Tusk is Chien-Pao's favourite teammate because it is threatened the most by Koraidon, and Great Tusk can handle Koraidon as well as provide Rapid Spin support.

  • Ice Spinner is a more reliable option thanks to its improved accuracy, but Icicle Crash's power and flinch chance greatly help out against all foes that can take a hit from it.
"Ice Spinner is a reliable option thanks to its perfect accuracy" then give an example or two of what Icicle Crash hits, like the Corviknight and Great Tusk I mentioned.

Remove the Crunch explanation as I requested; explaining what a STAB move does isn't necessary especially when you're not comparing it with an alternative.

  • Tera Dark is listed as the primary option since the power boost is rarely needed for Ice Shard, while Crunch greatly appreciates the boost to be able to OHKO the likes of physically defensive Corviknight and Toxapex.
weird way to talk about it where you say why you WOULDN'T run Tera Ice first; just rephrase to "Tera Dark boosts Crunch, allowing Chien-Pao to more reliably beat physically defensive Corviknight and Toxapex".
  • Tera Ice can be used instead to boost Chien Pao's Ice attacks which makes Ice Shard a better revenge killing option.
Ice-type attacks and makes Ice Shard...

Capitalize "Pokemon" wherever you use it (I think foes is better as a word but eh)

  • Heavy-Duty Boots sacrifices a lot of power but gives it the ability to ignore entry hazards, allowing it to come in and potentially set up multiple times throughout a game.
...gives Chien-Pao the ability to ignore..."

  • Chien-Pao has very little defensive utility so having a defensive core for it to be able to fall back on is recommended for balance teams but for offensive teams you can afford to run an item like Focus Sash to not need to switch in front of pokemon that would usually threaten it out.
  • Great Tusk is Chien-Pao's favourite teammate because it is threatened the most by Koraidon, and Great Tusk can handle Koraidon as well as provide Rapid Spin support.
first bullet point runs too long. Try to stop the sentence at "balance teams" then start a new sentence in the same bullet point. Then, in the Rapid Spin section, mention that it helps keep Focus Sash intact.
