- Collision Course can be used for universal damage and to threaten Ting-Lu more reliably, while Iron Head can beat certain checks like Dachsbun and Tera Fairy Skeledirge.
- Heavy Slam can be used to KO Scream Tail without Terastallizing into a Steel-type, unlike Iron Head, which requires it to do so. Otherwise, it makes dealing with Tera Fairy Skeledirge and Tera Fairy Koraidon or Miraidon more difficult.
- Koraidon can use Tera Fire to power up Flame Charge and avoid a burn from Skeledirge, while Tera Steel Koraidon helps prevent revenge killing attempts from Choice Scarf Dragon-types like Miraidon and opposing Koraidon. Both also allow it to resist Fairy, helping against Flutter Mane and Quark Drive-boosted Iron Valiant.
- Swords Dance Koraidon is a sweeper, making it best used on offensive teams mid- or late-game.
- With high natural bulk, Koraidon typically can set up on defensive walls like Corviknight and Ting-Lu. It also appreciates having Terastallization available for the defensive benefits.
- Entry hazard leads pair best with Koraidon to fuel hyper offense teams. Pokemon like Masquerain, Froslass, and Glimmora do this the best, while Grimmsnarl provides good support with dual screens.
- Other setup sweepers like Miraidon, Chien-Pao, and Flutter Mane are also great teammates, as they can break through walls to facilitate a Koraidon sweep, or Koraidon can do the same for them depending on the matchup.
- Offensive Great Tusk appreciates the sun provided by Koraidon while also removing entry hazards with Rapid Spin, which is especially important if Toxic Spikes are set up or if Koraidon Terastallizes into a Fire-type.
