tera type: Fire / Steel

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Collision Course can be used for universal damage and to threaten Ting-Lu more reliably, while Iron Head can beat certain checks like Dachsbun and Tera Fairy Skeledirge.
  • Heavy Slam can be used to KO Scream Tail without Terastallizing into a Steel-type, unlike Iron Head, which requires it to do so. Otherwise, it makes dealing with Tera Fairy Skeledirge and Tera Fairy Koraidon or Miraidon more difficult.
  • Koraidon can use Tera Fire to power up Flame Charge and avoid a burn from Skeledirge, while Tera Steel Koraidon helps prevent revenge killing attempts from Choice Scarf Dragon-types like Miraidon and opposing Koraidon. Both also allow it to resist Fairy, helping against Flutter Mane and Quark Drive-boosted Iron Valiant.
  • Swords Dance Koraidon is a sweeper, making it best used on offensive teams mid- or late-game.
  • With high natural bulk, Koraidon typically can set up on defensive walls like Corviknight and Ting-Lu. It also appreciates having Terastallization available for the defensive benefits.
  • Entry hazard leads pair best with Koraidon to fuel hyper offense teams. Pokemon like Masquerain, Froslass, and Glimmora do this the best, while Grimmsnarl provides good support with dual screens.
  • Other setup sweepers like Miraidon, Chien-Pao, and Flutter Mane are also great teammates, as they can break through walls to facilitate a Koraidon sweep, or Koraidon can do the same for them depending on the matchup.
  • Offensive Great Tusk appreciates the sun provided by Koraidon while also removing entry hazards with Rapid Spin, which is especially important if Toxic Spikes are set up or if Koraidon Terastallizes into a Fire-type.

Is Heavy Slam better than Iron Head? Heavy Slam does more to Daschbun and Scream Tail, but it does less to Tera-Fairy Skeledirge, Tera-Fairy Koraidon, Tera-Fairy Miraidon, etc.

252 Atk Orichalcum Pulse Koraidon Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tera Fairy Skeledirge: 172-204 (41.7 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 Atk Orichalcum Pulse Koraidon Heavy Slam (40 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tera Fairy Skeledirge: 88-104 (21.3 - 25.2%) -- Miniscule% chance to 4HKO

The flinch chance is also nice.

Everything else looks good. QC 1/2.

I'd mention Great Tusk as a partner, which benefits greatly from the sun to become extremely threatening, while it can also remove the entry hazards which are quite annoying as they reduce the opportunities Koraidon has to set up (especially Spikes, but SR too if it has to Tera Fire early).

Otherwise it looks great boss, QC 2/2

  • Collision Course can be used for universal damage and to threaten Ting-Lu harder more reliably, while Iron Head can beat certain Swords Dance Koraidon (Pretty self-explanatory imo) checks like Dachsbun and Tera Fairy Skeledirge.
  • Heavy Slam can be used to KO Scream Tail without Terastallizing (Capitalize) into a Steel-type, (AC) unlike Iron Head, (AC) which requires it to do so. (AP) but Otherwise, (AC) it makes dealing with Tera Fairy Skeledirge and Tera Fairy Koraidon or Miraidon more difficult.
  • Koraidon can use Tera Fire to power up Flame Charge and avoid a burn from Skeledirge, while Tera Steel Koraidon helps prevent revenge killing attempts from Choice Scarf Dragon-types like Miraidon or and opposing Koraidon. Both also allow it to resist Fairy, helping against Flutter Mane and Quark Drive-(AH)boosted Iron Valiant.
  • Swords Dance Koraidon is a sweeper, making it best used on offensive teams in the middle mid- or late-(AH)game.
  • With high natural bulk, Koraidon typically can setup set up on defensive walls like Corviknight and Ting-Lu. It also appreciates having Terastallization available for the defensive benefits.
  • Entry hazard leads pair best with Koraidon to fuel hyper offense teams. Pokemon like Masquerain, Froslass, and Glimmora do this the best, while Grimmsnarl with Dual Screens is also provides good support with dual screens.
