[SET COMMENTS]
As a water-type breaker it's outclassed by both Drednaw and Golduck, but with Lightning Rod Seaking is able to switch into Electric-types such as Manectric, and Boltund. Seaking separates itself from other electric-type immunities with its typing and ablility to pivot with Flip Turn. Knock Off allows Seaking to cripple in switch-ins like Mareanie, Mawile and Tangela. Megahorn can hit Tangela and bulky Psychic-types like Beheeyem for more damage. Drill Run is another viable option to hit Steel-types like Klinklang and Mawile harder. While being a bit weaker, a Jolly nature ensures Seaking can outspeed threats like Modest Mr. Rime, and base 65s like Flareon or Heatmor with speed boosting natures.

Pokemon such as Klingklang and Specially Defensive Mawile appreciate Seaking's ability to switch on Electric-types like Manectric and Raichu. In return they are able to switch into Grass-type attacks from Roselia or Shiinotic. Vespiquen takes advantage of Seaking's Electric-type immunity and Fire-type resist while serving as Defog support and a Grass-type resist. Togetic appreciates Seaking's Electric-type immunity and is a Grass-type resist that benefits from Seaking checking Heatmor as well. Set up sweepers such as Dubwool and Falinks can capitalize on Seaking crippling Shiinotic or Mareanie. Pivots such as Unfezant and Silvally-Rock can also get Seaking in safely as well and appreciate Seaking's ability to cripple Tangela. Lilligant and other special attacking Grass-types like Gourgeist and Tangela are able to break Stunfisk without risking static for Seaking. In return, Seaking can switch into Steel-types like Klingklang or Mawile.

hi, consider putting this back into wip. as it stands, this analysis is very short and deviod of crucial information. from reading what's here i don't understand seaking's niche; i keep asking myself, seaking has immunity to electric-type attacks, and? seaking is a physical attacker with swords dance, and? a lot of info like explaining seaking's niche and position in the meta, drawing essential comparisons to other electric-immune pokemon and offensive water-types, and examples of mons it should aim to cripple with toxic/knock off, are all missing. team options are similarly barren and give me no idea of how i should actually build a full team with it.

also, slash substitute after protect on the specially defensive set. seaking has plenty of opportunities to set up substitutes against choice locked foes like manectric, and it allows it to not only potentially cripple faster pokemon that might attempt to check it, such as gourgeist and leafeon, but also stallbreak effectively against targets like pyukumuku.

let me know when it's ready for qc again and i'll give it another look.

With Lightning Rod Seaking is an effective counter to Electric-types such as Stunfisk, Raichu, and Manectric i prefer pincurchin as an example here, mane can cripple u with switcheroo. Unlike other Electric-type immunities like Palpitoad, Stunfisk, or Vibrava, Seaking is able to have passive recovery and a better defensive typing well, stunfisk runs lefties too and vibrava has roost lol. i also wouldn't necessarily say it has better defensive typing, as really every mon listed has its merits provided by its typing and they're all largely effective at what they're trying to do. it's moreso that seaking's toolset lends it a better stall matchup on bulkier teams. Seaking can wear down opposing teams through spreading Toxic on Pokemon such as Gourgeist, Shiinotic, and Hakamo-o. Knock Off allows Seaking to cripple in switch-ins like Mareanie, Mawile and Roselia. The given HP and Special Defense investment lets Seaking take a +2 Focus Blast or Grass Knot from Raichu and outspeed Adamant Pawniard. Protect lets Seaking rack up more Toxic damage and Leftovers recovery in addition to the ability to scout Choice-locked Pokemon like?. Substitute is an alternative option that can be put up against Choice-locked Manectric or Raichu or other forced switches and reduces the need for prediction while being able to avoid opposing Toxic from Pokemon such as Pyukumuku or Type-Null Type: Null.

Pokemon such as Gourgeist-XL and Specially Defensive Mawile appreciate Seaking's ability to switch on Electric-types like Manectric and Silvally-Electric. In return they are able to switch into Grass-type attacks from Roselia gourg-xl is a very poor roselia switch-in, but it can handle leafeon and shiinotic. a partner that does work well with seaking for similar reasons as the first two and can actually deal with roselia is klang, and it can even act as a status absorber if seaking isn't behind a sub. and deal with other Pokemon not immediately pressured by Toxic like Throh. Seaking can also appreciate Wish or clerical support from Glaceon or Musharna, as it can get worn down by hazards with only Leftovers recovery. Vespiquen takes advantage of Seaking's Electric-type immunity and Fire-type resist while serving as Defog support and a Grass-type resist togetic works very well too for similar reasons (it's not weak to fire but it appreciates seaking dealing with heatmor), and they both switch into fighting-types that seaking struggles with like falinks and hitmontop. Set up sweepers such as Swords Dance Hakamo-o and Falinks can capitalize on Seaking crippling Shiinotic no?? why does falinks care if shiinotic is poisoned or loses its lefties? or Mareanie falinks is an alright partner ig but i honestly don't get the hakamo-o mention here, it doesn't beat shiinotic and the mare matchup is mostly a pp stall war. Pivots such as Choice Scarf Thwackey and Silvally-Bug can also get Seaking in safely as well and have good typing synergy expand on this.

elec-types like raichu and elecvally really appreciate seaking dealing with most elecs as it makes them much more free to press elec attacks late-game, and they beat mare

item: Life Orb

[SET COMMENTS]
Swords Dance Seaking is able to break effectively with the prominence of its more passive set. Seaking still utilizes Electric-types like Manectric and Silvally-Electric to exploit and set up on, which sets it apart from other Swords Dance users like Falinks or Mawile. Not being picked off by Scarf Manectric or Raichu is a boon it has over Basculin. However, lacking the immediate power and speed when compared to Basculin makes Seaking more niche much less immediately threatening. Through Knock Off Seaking is able to cripple switch-ins like Shiinotic knock off really isn't shiinotic's bane of existence, if anything it fears +2 megahorn or Roselia, making to harder for them to switch in later without Leftovers or Evolite respectively. Megahorn is able to hit most Water-type resists hard such as Silvally-Grass not super keen on that example, you're 100% relying on prediction here and Ludicolo another fun megahorn calc: 252 Atk Life Orb Seaking Megahorn vs. +1 0 HP / 4 Def Thievul: 278-328 (98.9 - 116.7%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO. Agility is an option to let Seaking outspeed its typical revenge killers such as? and clean late game should it not need the extra coverage.

mention drill run, unboosted lets u rk raichu from full health and +2 has a chance to ko mare after rocks, but the coverage megahorn provides is generally more useful

talk about why jolly>ada; outspeeding timid rose and modest mr. rime and ludicolo and preventing them from stopping your sweep is good, if running agility u outspeed scarf galar mime at +2

Seaking is able to break Beheyem Beheeyem, Musharna, and Gourgeist-XL no it cannot for other physical attackers such as Hitmontop or Throh. Seaking is vulnerable to Roselia, Colbur Gourgeist-XL, and Defensive Shiinotic. Heatmor is able to pressure them with either a physical or special set there's extremely little synergy in this pairing and they both occupy the slow breaker slot on a team. also, shii and offensive rose already struggle against +2 seaking. Mr. Rime and Glaceon are also able to pressure them with their STAB moves Grass-types like Roselia, Gourgeist-XL, and Shiinotic while benefitting from Seaking's ability to switch into Fire-type attacks from?. Mr. Rime, Glaceon, and Mr. Mime can also be helpful to deal with Hakamo-o, who can set up on Swords Dance Seaking rather easily rime also provides spin and mime provides hwish, which are very handy as seaking gets worn down quickly. Pivots like Vespiquen and Natu ?_? Klang can draw in Electric-types examples (those that aren't raichu) for Seaking to set up on. Silvally-Electric and Silvally-Psychic can break Mareanie with ease, which would otherwise wall Seaking seaking likes potential u-turn and defog support from them, it deals with elecs for elecvally and psychics for psychicvally. Drill Run is another coverage option for Seaking to break Mareanie on its own. why is this in team options

roselia is a very nice partner; it sets hazards, absorbs tspikes, deals with gourg-xl, eases raichu and shiinotic matchup, and really appreciates seaking switching into mane and klang and pressuring psychics

Many months later this is no longer viable and we won't be keeping the analysis around. This is probably not surprising.
