RU Counterdraft Tournament
Welcome to the first RU Counterdraft Tournament, where you will get to draft a line up of 8 Pokemon from RU and below, and face off against your opponent's rosters, co-hosted by myself and MrAldo. Both you and your opponent will know eachother's lineup of Pokemon before hand, and thus will have the opportunity to build teams specifically designed to counter one another's rosters. To participate, please carefully read all of the tournament specific rules below, before joining.
Tournament Specific Rules:
- In order to mitigate the mess on the forums, the drafting portion of the tournament will take place on Discord. That means you must be able to use Discord to join this tournament, please do not join if you can not. The draft will take place in pools of 8 participants (subject to change based on number of signups) and will start promptly exactly 24 hours after signups close. The draft will then move on, by timer if necessary, to reach completion hopefully 1 week after signups close, at which point Round 1 pairings between users in your pool will begin.
- Matches played are Best of One. You may bring any 6 of your 8 Pokemon. Due to the nature of the tour, your team should be designed to counter your opponent's roster.
- You will play 4 of the users in the your pool, at random pairings, for four consecutive weeks. At that point, the players with the best w/l will move on to playoffs, with a week being designated for tiebreaker rounds if needed.
- The draft among users in the pool will precede in snake style in a randomized order. You may draft any mon from RU and down, in any order you like during the draft. Each user gets to draft 8 Pokemon. Mega Pokemon are not differentiated from regular Pokemon in draft, but drafting a Pokemon as its Mega mean you can only hold its Mega Stone while using it Likewise, Pokemon may not hold their respective Mega Stones if they have not been drafted as their mega form. It should go without saying, but you can not draft the same Pokemon if another person in your pool has already drafted it. You may draft the same Pokemon as those in other pools.
