[OVERVIEW]

Seismitoad's niche over other Ground-type Stealth Rock setters in the metagame lies in its access to Water Absorb, which allows it to threaten common Water-type Pokemon like Slowbro, Tentacruel, and Empoleon more easily. Its above average Speed also allows it to fill a more offensive role on some teams while also providing some defensive utility by offensively checking Pokemon like Scizor, Crawdaunt, Choice Specs Primarina, and Volcanion. Furthermore, Seismitoad fares well against some of the tier's most common threats, such as Mega Aerodactyl and Rotom-H, thanks to its solid defensive typing. Despite not having the greatest offensive stats, Seismitoad can also be somewhat difficult to switch into due to its decent offensive typing and coverage moves such as Hidden Power Fire and Sludge Wave. However, Seismitoad can be easily worn down, as it doesn't have access to reliable recovery, relying on Leftovers to stay healthy. This is aggravated by its vulnerability to status-inducing moves, specifically Toxic, which hinders Seismitoad's ability to check the Pokemon it's supposed to in the long run. Its 4x weakness to Grass-type attacks also holds it back defensively, making it harder for it to check Pokemon like Infernape, Zeraora, and Mega Manectric due to their access to coverage moves like Grass Knot and Hidden Power Grass. Seismitoad also faces heavy competition from other Ground-types as a Stealth Rock setter. Hippowdon's better overall bulk and access to more utility options such as Whirlwind and Slack Off make it the preferred option as a defensive Stealth Rock setter most of the time, as it's capable of keeping a much wider array of threats in check reliably. Seismitoad must also compete with other offensive Stealth Rock setters like Krookodile and Mamoswine, which have far superior offensive capabilities.

Moves
========

Earthquake is preferred over any other Ground-type STAB moves because it allows Seismitoad to hit certain Pokemon harder, notably 2HKOing Empoleon and OHKOing Nihilego. However, Earth Power can be used instead to hit Pokemon like Cobalion and Crawdaunt harder. Toxic is used to cripple Pokemon that would otherwise wall Seismitoad, such as Slowbro and Latias.

Set Details
========

Water Absorb grants Seismitoad an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Choice Specs Primarina and Volcanion.

Usage Tips
========

The point of this set is to make use of Seismitoad's immunity to Water-type attacks to threaten bulky Water-types like Slowbro and Alomomola with Toxic, something Pokemon like Swampert and Hippowdon have a hard time doing. Seismitoad is a relatively straightforward Pokemon to use: it should attempt to switch into Pokemon that it can check like Mega Aerodactyl and Slowbro in order to find an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock. Even though Water Absorb grants Seismitoad an immunity to Water-type attacks, it should not be recklessly switching into any Water-type Pokemon, as they can still hit it very hard with a different move. It's safe to switch into a Water-type attack from a Choice-locked Pokemon like Primarina or Volcanion, however, or when it's certain that the foe will use said move. Since it doesn't have access to reliable recovery, Seismitoad can be easily worn down. As such, it should try to avoid tanking hits unnecessarily, as that would hinder its ability to check what it's intended to. It should also avoid switching into a potential Knock Off, Toxic, or Will-O-Wisp for the same reason, as it heavily relies on Leftovers as its main form of recovery. Be wary of Grass-type coverage such as Mega Manectric's Hidden Power Grass and Infernape's Grass Knot, as they can easily OHKO Seismitoad.

Team Options
========

Seismitoad fits best on balance or bulky offense builds that appreciate its ability to set up Stealth Rock and wear down bulky Water-types with Toxic. The best partners for Seismitoad are Pokemon that can sponge Grass-type attacks like Moltres, Latias, and Hydreigon, as Seismitoad is very threatened by them. Latias and Hydreigon are exceptionally good partners because they're also able to provide a secondary check to Electric-types like Mega Manectric and Zeraora, Pokemon that Seismitoad has trouble dealing with on its own. Wish support from Pokemon like Alomomola and Florges is appreciated, as Seismitoad is prone to being worn down due to its lack of reliable recovery. Cleric support from Pokemon like Togekiss and Blissey is also very useful, since Seismitoad is heavily crippled by status. Dragon-type Pokemon like Mega Sceptile and Kommo-o can easily switch into Seismitoad and take advantage of its passive nature, so Pokemon that can check them, such as the aforementioned Togekiss and Florges, make good teammates. Pokemon that appreciate bulky Water-types like Slowbro and Alomomola being worn down like to be partnered with Seismitoad. Examples include Cobalion, Mega Aerodactyl, and Infernape. Entry hazards are another way to wear down Seismitoad, so Pokemon that can remove them from the field like Defog Rotom-H and Hydreigon pair well with it.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Earth Power is notable for OHKOing Pokemon like Volcanion and Cobalion when holding an Expert Belt, and it is integral in letting Seismitoad pressure Empoleon and Tentacruel. Hidden Power Fire allows Seismitoad to revenge kill offensive Scizor, which other moves fail to do. Sludge Wave can also be used, allowing Seismitoad to hit Pokemon like Primarina, Rotom-C, and Celebi super effectively.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread allows Seismitoad to outspeed maximum Speed Scizor while also retaining some bulk. Water Absorb grants Seismitoad an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Starmie, Choice Specs Primarina, and Volcanion. Leftovers is the item of choice, as it provides Seismitoad with a form of passive recovery, allowing it to be more durable and tank certain hits more easily, such as Mega Aerodactyl's Wing Attack. Expert Belt is also an option, as it allows Seismitoad to secure the OHKO on offensive Scizor and Volcanion while also giving it a chance to OHKO Hippowdon without hindering its longevity too much. 228 Speed EVs should be used with Expert Belt to outspeed Volcanion, one of its main targets. It also allows Seismitoad to outspeed base 60s like Primarina and Bewear.

Usage Tips
========

Seismitoad should be brought in via double switching or on a U-turn or Volt Switch, as it's not bulky enough to switch directly into attacks. However, it can attempt to switch into Pokemon like Rotom-H or moves like Scizor's Bullet Punch. Once it's brought onto the field, Seismitoad should attempt to set up Stealth Rock on a free turn due to its ability to force switches. However, if there's a Pokemon on the opposing team that could remove Stealth Rock from the field like Rotom-C or Hydreigon, Seismitoad should either attack accordingly or switch out. After setting up Stealth Rock, Seismitoad should focus on wallbreaking and weakening the opposing team by using its STAB and coverage moves appropriately. Sludge Wave should be used on a predicted switch to Pokemon like Celebi and the aforementioned Rotom-C, while Hidden Power Fire should only be used against Scizor, as it's too weak to be useful in any other scenario. Although it's immune to Water-type attacks thanks to Water Absorb, Seismitoad should not be recklessly switching into every potential attack, as most Water-type Pokemon can hit it very hard with a different move and bulky Water-types can cripple it with Toxic. As such, it should only switch into a Water-type attack if it's certain that the opponent will use one or from a Choice-locked Pokemon like Primarina or Volcanion. Seismitoad should be wary of Grass-type coverage such as Mega Manectric's Hidden Power Grass and Infernape's Grass Knot, as they can easily OHKO it. Avoid switching into a potential Knock Off, Toxic, or Will-O-Wisp because Seismitoad can be easily worn down, especially without its Leftovers, meaning sets utilizing Expert Belt have to be particularly cautious.

Team Options
========

Seismitoad fits best on offensive builds that benefit from its ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock without giving up momentum and keep threatening Pokemon like Swords Dance Scizor in check. U-turn and Volt Switch users like Mega Beedrill and Rotom-C pair well with Seismitoad for their ability to bring it safely onto the field. Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Kyurem have good synergy with Seismitoad, since they're able to check Grass-types like Celebi and provide a secondary check to Electric-types like Mega Manectric and Zeraora, which Seismitoad usually struggles to deal with on its own. In return, Seismitoad is able to pressure Steel-types like Empoleon and Mega Aggron while also being able to revenge kill Scizor. Pokemon that can sponge Grass-type attacks such as Rotom-H and Moltres make good teammates for Seismitoad as well, as it's heavily threatened by them. Dragon-type Pokemon like Latias and Mega Sceptile can switch into Seismitoad with ease and hit it hard with one of their STAB moves. As such Dragon-type checks such as Togekiss and Klefki pair well with Seismitoad. Wallbreakers such as Kommo-o and Heracross are able to threaten the special walls that try to tank Seismitoad's attacks, thus making them good partners.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Refresh is a viable option on Seismitoad's defensive set that allows it to cure itself from status conditions, which makes it easier for it to check Pokemon that rely on status to cripple it, such as Empoleon and Rotom-H. However, it forces Seismitoad to give up Toxic, which means it has a much harder time pressuring bulky Water-types like Slowbro while also allowing Pokemon like Latias and Hydreigon to freely switch into it without any difficulty.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types and Grass-type Coverage**: Amoonguss is one of Seismitoad's biggest counters, as it's able to comfortably switch into any of its moves and OHKO it with its Grass-type STAB move. Although Pokemon like Rotom-C and Tsareena take a lot from an Expert Belt-boosted Hidden Power Fire or Sludge Wave, they can also threaten Seismitoad heavily, as they're also able to remove Seismitoad's Stealth Rock from the field with Defog and Rapid Spin, respectively. Additionally, Pokemon that usually carry Grass-type coverage such as Hidden Power Grass Mega Manectric and Grass Knot Nihilego can pressure Seismitoad, but they can't switch in.

**Dragon-types**: Pokemon like Latias and Hydreigon take little to no damage from Seismitoad's STAB moves, being immune to Ground-type attacks and resisting Water-type attacks, and can either threaten it with a strong hit or Defog its Stealth Rock away from the field. They must be wary of being hit by Toxic, however.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially defensive Pokemon like Blissey and Articuno can easily switch into Seismitoad's attacks without having to fear anything from it. Articuno can also clear Seismitoad's Stealth Rock away from the field and threaten Seismitoad with Freeze-Dry, and it doesn't mind being hit with a Toxic, as it runs Heal Bell.

**Strong Attackers**: Seismitoad's suboptimal bulk leaves it susceptible to strong attackers like Terrakion and Mamoswine that can easily break through it.

Make the set as such:

[SET]
name: Offensive Stealth Rock
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Hydro Pump
move 3: Earth Power
move 4: Hidden Power Fire
item: Leftovers / Expert Belt
ability: Water Absorb
nature: Modest

Speed is for Scizor.

Sludge Wave in moves to better harm primarina + donk celebi and mowtom switchins, 228 speed for modest Volcanion and speed-positive 60s in set details. Specify that Expert Belt should always be used with the 228 spread due to Volcanion.

Leftovers gives Seismitoad a better standing against Flying move Mega Aerodactyl (which otherwise has a chance to 2HKO from full) and gives it extra longevity throughout the battle to better serve as an offensive check to aero/non-grass manec, whereas Expert Belt is used to give a chance to OHKO standard Hippowdon and secure the OHKO on 0 HP offensive Scizor from full, HP-invested offensive Scizor after Stealth Rock, and Volcanion from full (and some more, but those are the big ones) all without compromising Seismitoad's defensive presence TOO heavily (which is why Life Orb is a big no from us).

This is a big change so tag me when you update the analysis accordingly and remove all mentions of, like, Life Orb recoil and stuff.

[OVERVIEW]

* Seismitoad's niche over other Ground-type Stealth Rock setters in this metagame lies on its access to Water Absorb and above average Speed, which allows it to fill a more offensive role in teams while also providing some defensive utility by offensively checking Pokemon like Scizor, Crawdaunt, Choice Specs Primarina, and Volcanion.
* Its solid defensive typing also allows it to fare well against some of the tier's most common threats, such as Mega Aerodactyl, Infernape, and Mamoswine. (ehh on mamo personally, seis takes a fuckton from every attack it can put out except, like, shard. Cut it.)
* Despite not having the greatest offensive stats, Seismitoad can be somewhat difficult to switch into due to its decent offensive typing and coverage moves, such as Sludge Wave and Hidden Power Fire.
* However Seismitoad can be easily worn down, as it doesn't have access to reliable recovery, relying on Leftovers to stay healthy.
* Seismitoad also still faces heavy competition from other Ground-types as a Stealth Rock setter; Swampert's better overall bulk and access to more utility options such as Roar make it the preferred option most of the time as it's a more durable check to the tier's top threats, while Hippowdon also benefits from much better bulk and is a more reliable Electric-type check, as it doesn't face the constrains of the Water typing by being 4x weak to Grass-type coverage and has access to reliable recovery. (this isn't a qc thing but this sentence is absolutely a run-on)

Moves
========

* Stealth Rock provides crucial support to any team, punishing the opponent from switching with entry hazard damage.
* Hydro Pump is Seismitoad's strongest move, hitting most Pokemon that don't resist it hard.
* Earth Power is a less strong but more reliable STAB move that allows Seismitoad to hit Poison- and Steel-types super effectively such as Tentacruel and Empoleon. (specify volcanion as another target, as that's one of the really important uses of earth power)
* Hidden Power Fire allows Seismitoad to revenge kill offensive Scizor in one hit, as any other move fails to do so. (HP fire doesn't always oneshot offensive scizor w/o expert belt boost so just remove the "in one hit". Seis still rk's sciz because it's absolutely not hard to chip it but we wouldn't want people getting the wrong idea)
* Sludge Wave can also be used, allowing Seismitoad to hit Pokemon like Primarina, Rotom-C, and Celebi super-effectively.

Set Details
========

* The given EV spread allows Seismitoad to hit as hard as it can and outspeed maximum Speed Scizor, while also retaining some bulk.
* A Modest nature is preferred as to further boost Seismitoad's offensive capabilities.
* Water Absorb grants Seismitoad with an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Choice Specs Primarina and Volcanion. (since this isn't mentioned anywhere else in the analysis can you mention that Water Absorb gives it a somewhat better matchup against Starmie)
* Leftovers is the item of choice, as it provides Seismitoad with a form of passive recovery, allowing it to be more durable and tank certain hits more easily, such as Mega Aerodactyl's Wing attack.
* Expert Belt is also an option, as it allows Seismitoad to secure the OHKO on offensive Scizor and Volcanion, while also giving it a chance to OHKO Hippowdon without hindering its longevity too much. 228 Speed EVs should be used with Expert Belt, as to outspeed Volcanion, one of the main targets. It also allows Seismitoad to outspeed base 60s like Primarina and Bewear.

Usage Tips
========

* Seismitoad should be brought in via double switching or a U-turn or a Volt Switch, as it's not bulky enough to switch directly into attacks.
* Once it's brought into the field, Seismitoad should attempt to set up Stealth Rock whenever it forces a foe to switch out, fearing one of its attacks. However, if there's a Pokemon on the opposing team that could remove Stealth Rock from the field like Rotom-C and Mantine, Seismitoad should either attack accordingly or switch out.
* After setting up Stealth Rock, Seismitoad should focus on wallbreaking and weakening the opposing team.
* Although it's immune to Water-type attacks thanks to Water Absorb, Seismitoad should not be recklessly switching into every potential attack, as most Water-type Pokemon can hit it very hard with a different move. As such, it should only switch into a Water-type attack from a Choice-locked Primarina or a non-Grassium Z Volcanion. (Specs volcanion 2hkoes with fire blast so perhaps edit this accordingly)
* Seismitoad should be wary of Grass-type coverage such as Mega Manectric's Hidden Power Grass or Infernape's Grass Knot, as they can easily OHKO it.
* Avoid switching into a potential Knock Off, Toxic or Will-O-Wisp because Seismitoad can be easily worn down, especially without its Leftovers.

Team Options
========

* Seismitoad fits best on offensive builds that benefit from its ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock without giving up momentum and keeping threatening Pokemon like Swords Dance Scizor in check.
* U-turn and Volt Switch users like Mega Beedrill and Rotom-C pair well with Seismitoad for their ability to bring it safely into the field.
* Secondary checks to Electric-type Pokemon like Mega Manectric and Rotom-C are appreciated, as Seismitoad often falls short in keeping them in check by itself due to its 4x weakness to Grass. Pokemon like Hydreigon and Kyurem are good examples of such Pokemon. (I think it'd be best to reword this to just say Dragon-types like Latias, Kyurem, and Hydriegon, to be honest. Dragons, despite being a "type-chart team option", are honestly really good partners to Seismitoad as a whole due to being able to check Celebi and HP Grass Electric-types, as well as enjoying Seismitoad's ability to pressure steels and revenge kill Scizor.)
* Offensive Pokemon that appreciate Stealth Rock support and can pressure common hazard removers like Empoleon and Tentacruel pair well with Seismitoad. Thus Pokemon like Electrium Z Latias and Terrakion make good teammates.
* Pokemon that can sponge Grass-type attacks such as Amoonguss and Moltres make good teammates for Seismitoad, as it's threaten by them a lot.
* Dragon-type Pokemon like Latias and Mega Sceptile can switch into Seismitoad with ease and hit it hard with one of their STAB moves. As such Dragon-type checks such as Togekiss and Klefki pair well with Seismitoad.
* Alolan-Muk is a particularly good partner for Seismitoad, as it can Pursuit trap Pokemon like Latias and sponge Grass-type attacks like Mega Manectric's Hidden Power Grass.
* Wallbreakers such as Nidoking and Heracross are able to threaten the special walls that try to tank Seismitoad's attacks, thus making good partners.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Grass Knot could also be used in the last slot, allowing Seismitoad to hit Pokemon like Swampert and Slowbro super effectively. However, these targets already don't appreciate being hit by Seismitoad's other moves, thus making it an inferior option.
* While a defensive set might seem like an appealing option, Seismitoad is almost entirely outclassed by Pokemon like Swampert and Hippowdon in that role, as Water Absorb is not enough of a niche by itself to justify it since it can't threaten most Water-type Pokemon without Special Attack investment or a boosting item. (You probably shouldn't bash this as much, since a good portion of the QC team likes defensive seis a good bit still. Just state that while it is mostly outclassed, the defensive set can be used in order to have a better matchup against Pokemon like Mega Aerodactyl and Starmie. Also, make it the first point here.)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types and Grass-type Coverage**: Grass-type Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Rotom-C are able to comfortably switch into Seismitoad and OHKO it back with their STAB moves, only having to fear Ice Beam. Rotom-C can also clear Seismitoad's Stealth Rock away from the field with Defog. Additionally, Pokemon that usually carry Grass-type coverage such as Hidden Power Grass Mega Manectric and Grass Knot Nihilego can also threaten Seismitoad, but they have a hard time switching in.

**Dragon-types**: Pokemon like Latias and Hydreigon take little to no damage from Seismitoad's STAB moves, being immune to Earth Power and resisting Hydro Pump, and can threaten it with a strong hit.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially Defensive Pokemon like Blissey, Mantine, and Sylveon can easily switch into Seismitoad's attacks without having to fear anything. Mantine can also clear Seismitoad's Stealth Rock away from the field with Defog.

**Residual Damage**: Seismitoad can be easily worn down if it loses its Leftovers to a Knock Off or if it's hit by Toxic or Will-O-Wisp. (I don't think this point really needs to be here now that the set isn't life orb; the only thing out of these that seis really, really, really dislikes is Toxic and Seismitoad isn't particularly weak to entry hazards or anything. I think it's safe to cut the residual damage point for now. If you want, you can add a point for strong attackers, as Seismitoad can't really take too many strong hits from most of UU's wallbreakers and its mediocre Speed leaves it outsped by many of said wallbreakers also.)

just a small check. Had a few nitpicks with examples and a couple more substantial changes to make, but otherwise this is a pretty good analysis. 1/3.

The defensive set also allows Seismitoad to distinguish itself from the other Ground-type Pokemon, as it can be used to threaten bulky Water-types more easily. (Offensive SR isn't the firsts et anymore, so reword this point to focus less on it or keep this point and just emphasise defensive first. Make sure to mention examples of bulky Water-types it can pressure here too)
* Its solid defensive typing also allows it to fare well against some of the tier's most common threats, such as Mega Aerodactyl and Infernape. (Infernape is a kinda awkward example with the rise of Grass Knot sets on both NP and mixed LO, and NP can break through ot with Z Fight as well, so maybe consider replacing it)
* Despite not having the greatest offensive stats, Seismitoad can be somewhat difficult to switch into due to its decent offensive typing and coverage moves, such as Sludge Wave and Hidden Power Fire.
* However Seismitoad can be easily worn down, as it doesn't have access to reliable recovery, relying on Leftovers to stay healthy. (You can also mention its vulnerability to Toxic here too and how that makes it hard to check things without recovery)
Mention its Grass weakness somewhere and Pokemon that it should be wary of because of this. Talk about Grass-types but also mention coevrage like Grass Knot on Infernape/Zeraora/Nihilego and similar stes that beat it too.

* Seismitoad also still faces heavy competition from other Ground-types as a Stealth Rock setter. Swampert and Hippowdon's better overall bulk and access to more utility options such as Counter, Roar, and Whirlwind make them the preferred option most of the time, as they're capable of keeping a much wider array of threats in check. You canh explain moves like Sludge Wave / HP Fire here and keep Stealth Rock, and if you expand on STAB move explanations they can stay too)

Set Details
========

* The given EV spread allows Seismitoad to outspeed maximum Speed Scizor, while also retaining some bulk.
* Water Absorb grants Seismitoad with an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Starmie, Choice Specs Primarina, and Volcanion.

Usage Tips
========

* Seismitoad should be brought in via double switching or a U-turn or a Volt Switch, as it's not bulky enough to switch directly into attacks. (You can consider talking about some resisted hits it can switch into as well)
* Once it's brought into the field, Seismitoad should attempt to set up Stealth Rock whenever it forces a foe to switch out, fearing one of its attacks. However, if there's a Pokemon on the opposing team that could remove Stealth Rock from the field like Rotom-C and Mantine, Seismitoad should either attack accordingly or switch out. (Mantine isn't really that relevant anymore so consider removing it)
* After setting up Stealth Rock, Seismitoad should focus on wallbreaking and weakening the opposing team.
When talking about wallbreaking and weakening foes, mention its coverage and when to effectively use it (if a Pokemon is forced out predicting a switch to something that beats Seismitoad can cripple them).
* Although it's immune to Water-type attacks thanks to Water Absorb, Seismitoad should not be recklessly switching into every potential attack, as most Water-type Pokemon can hit it very hard with a different move. As such, it should only switch into a Water-type attack if it's certain that the opponent will use one or from a Choice-locked Pokemon like Primarina or Volcanion. (Mention how even bulky Water-types can poison it on the switch)
(Mention Expert Belt sets need to be extremely aware of being worn down due to this)

Team Options
========

(Amoonguss isn't the best example on offensive teams, which is what you recommend for this set. You can use it in defense SR because it's a good partner for that)
* Dragon-type Pokemon like Latias and Mega Sceptile can switch into Seismitoad with ease and hit it hard with one of their STAB moves.
(Not really sure about this point as a whole because its awkward on offensive teams and Alolan Muk is super niche in general. You can just mention Pursuit support to punish switches that its coverage forces)
* Wallbreakers such as Nidoking and Heracross are able to threaten the special walls that try to tank Seismitoad's attacks, thus making good partners. (Nidoking is a special wallbreaker in itself so giving examples of physical ones to beat special walls is better. Nidoking and Seismitoad's coverage also overlaps a ton so they don't pair well)

* Stealth Rock provides crucial support to any team, and Seismitoad is able to find many opportunities to set it due to its decent bulk.
* Scald gives Seismitoad the chance to cripple foes with a potential burn.
* Earthquake is preferred over any other Ground-type STAB moves, because it allows Seismitoad to hit certain Pokemon harder, notably 2HKOing Empoleon and OHKOing Nihilego.
* Toxic is used to cripple Pokemon that would otherwise wall Seismitoad, such as Slowbro and Latias. (Update this section for writing standards too, Earth Power descrption is good)

Set Details
========

* Water Absorb grants Seismitoad with an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Choice Specs Primarina and Volcanion.

Usage Tips
========

* The point of this set is to make use of Seismitoad's immunity to Water-type attacks and threaten bulky Water-types like Slowbro and Alomomola with Toxic, something Pokemon like Swampert and Hippowdon have a hard time doing.
* Seismitoad is a relatively straightforward Pokemon to use; it should attempt to switch into Pokemon that it can check like Mega Aerodactyl and Rotom-H in order to find an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock.
* Even though Water Absorb grants Seismitoad an immunity to Water-type attacks, it should not be recklessly switching into any Water-type Pokemon, as they can still hit very hard with a different move. It's safe to switch into a Water-type attack from a Choice-locked Pokemon like Primarina or Volcanion, however, or when it's certain that the opponent will use said move.
In Checks and Counters you talk about strong wallbreakers being able to break it but it's not really referenced anywhere else. You can talk about how Seismitoad should avoid taking big hits and give examples of what because it has nor ecovery and is easily worn down, building on that last point.

Team Options
========

* Seismitoad fits best on balance or bulky offense builds that appreciate its ability to set up Stealth Rock, and wear down bulky Water-types with Toxic.
* The best partners for Seismitoad are Pokemon that can sponge Grass-type attacks like Moltres, Latias, and Hydreigon, as Seismitoad is very threatened by them. Latias and Hydreigon are exceptionally good partners, because they're also able to provide a secondary check to Electric-types like Mega Manectric and Zeraora, Pokemon which Seismitoad has trouble dealing with on its own.
* Wish support from Pokemon like Alomomola and Florges is appreciated, as Seismitoad is prone to being worn down due to the lack of reliable recovery. Cleric support from Pokemon like Togekiss and Blissey is also very useful, since Seismitoad is heavily crippled by status.
* Dragon-type Pokemon like Mega Sceptile and Kommo-O can easily switch into Seismitoad and take advantage of its passive nature, so Pokemon that can check them such as the aforementioned Togekiss and Florges make good teammates.
* Pokemon that appreciate bulky Water-types like Slowbro and Alomomola being worn down like to be partnered with Seismitoad. Examples include Cobalion, Mega Aerodactyl, and Infernape.
* Entry hazards are another way to wear down Seismitoad, so Pokemon that can remove them from the field like Defog Rotom-H and Hydreigon pair well with it.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Grass Knot could also be used in the offensive set, allowing Seismitoad to hit Pokemon like Swampert and Slowbro super effectively. However, these targets already don't appreciate being hit by Seismitoad's other moves, thus making it an inferior option.
Add Refresh on defensive.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types and Grass-type Coverage**: Grass-type Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Rotom-C are able to comfortably switch into Seismitoad and OHKO it back with their STAB moves.

**Dragon-types**: Pokemon like Latias and Hydreigon take little to no damage from Seismitoad's STAB moves, being immune to Ground-type attacks and resisting Water-type attacks, and can threaten it with a strong hit. (Mention that they don't appreciate poison from defensive sets though)

(Consider updating these examples)

**Strong Attackers**: Seismitoad's sub-optimal bulk leaves it susceptible to strong attackers like Terrakion and Mamoswine, which can easily break through it.

[OVERVIEW]

Seismitoad's niche over other Ground-type Stealth Rock setters in this metagame lies on its access to Water Absorb, which allows it to threaten common Water-type Pokemon like Slowbro and Empoleon more easily. Its above average Speed also allows it to fill a more offensive role in some teams, while also providing some defensive utility by offensively checking Pokemon like Scizor, Crawdaunt, Choice Specs Primarina, and Volcanion. Furthermore, Seismitoad fares well against some of the tier's most common threats, such as Mega Aerodactyl and Rotom-H thanks to its solid defensive typing. Despite not having the greatest offensive stats, Seismitoad can also be somewhat difficult to switch into due to its decent offensive typing and coverage moves, such as Sludge Wave and Hidden Power Fire. However, Seismitoad can be easily worn down, as it doesn't have access to reliable recovery, relying on Leftovers to stay healthy. This is only aggravated by its vulnerability to status moves, specifically Toxic, which can hinder Seismitoad's ability to check the Pokemon it's supposed to in the long run. Its 4x weakness to Grass-type Attacks also holds it back defensively, making it harder for it to check Pokemon like Infernape, Zeraora, and Mega Manectric due to their access to Grass-type moves like Grass Knot and Hidden Power Grass. Seismitoad also still faces heavy competition from other Ground-types as a Stealth Rock setter. Hippowdon's better overall bulk and access to more utility options such as Whirlwind and Slack Off make it the preferred option most of the time as a defensive Stealth Rock setter, as it's capable of keeping a much wider array of threats in check more reliably. Other offensive Stealth Rock setters like Krookodile and Mamoswine are also in competition for a slot, as they have far superior offensive capabilities.

It should also avoid switching into a potential Knock Off, Toxic or Will-O-Wisp for the same reason, as it heavily relies on Leftovers as its main form of recovery. Be wary of Grass-type coverage such as Mega Manectric's Hidden Power Grass or Infernape's Grass Knot, as they can easily OHKO Seismitoad.

Moves
========

Stealth Rock provides crucial support to any team, punishing the opponent from switching with entry hazard damage. Earth Power is notable for hitting Pokemon like Volcanion and Cobalion hard, especially when holding Expert Belt. (It actually OHKOes Cobalion like 90% of the time and always OHKOes Volcanion with Expert Belt) Hidden Power Fire allows Seismitoad to revenge kill offensive Scizor, as any other move fails to do so. Sludge Wave can also be used, allowing Seismitoad to hit Pokemon like Primarina, Rotom-C, and Celebi super-effectively.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread allows Seismitoad to outspeed maximum Speed Scizor, while also retaining some bulk. Water Absorb grants Seismitoad with an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Starmie, Choice Specs Primarina, and Volcanion. Leftovers is the item of choice, as it provides Seismitoad with a form of passive recovery, allowing it to be more durable and tank certain hits more easily, such as Mega Aerodactyl's Wing attack. Expert Belt is also an option, as it allows Seismitoad to secure the OHKO on offensive Scizor and Volcanion, while also giving it a chance to OHKO Hippowdon without hindering its longevity too much. 228 Speed EVs should be used with Expert Belt, as to outspeed Volcanion, one of the main targets. It also allows Seismitoad to outspeed base 60s like Primarina and Bewear.

Usage Tips
========

Seismitoad should be brought in via double switching or a U-turn or a Volt Switch, as it's not bulky enough to switch directly into attacks. It can attempt to switch into Pokemon like Rotom-H and Scizor's Bullet Punch, however. Once it's brought into the field, Seismitoad should attempt to set up Stealth Rock whenever it forces a foe to switch out, fearing one of its attacks. However, if there's a Pokemon on the opposing team that could remove Stealth Rock from the field like Rotom-C (Hydreigon is another big one), Seismitoad should either attack accordingly or switch out. After setting up Stealth Rock, Seismitoad should focus on wallbreaking and weakening the opposing team by using its STAB and coverage moves accordingly. Sludge Wave should be used on a predicted switch to Pokemon like Celebi and the aforementioned Rotom-C, while Hidden Power Fire should only be used against Scizor, as it's too weak to be useful in any other scenario. (It's kinda weird to talk about Sludge Wave when it's only a moves mention, honestly. You can keep that there if you want though.) Although it's immune to Water-type attacks thanks to Water Absorb, Seismitoad should not be recklessly switching into every potential attack, as most Water-type Pokemon can hit it very hard with a different move and bulky Water-types can cripple it with a Toxic. As such, it should only switch into a Water-type attack if it's certain that the opponent will use one or from a Choice-locked Pokemon like Primarina or Volcanion. Seismitoad should be wary of Grass-type coverage such as Mega Manectric's Hidden Power Grass or Infernape's Grass Knot, as they can easily OHKO it. Avoid switching into a potential Knock Off, Toxic or Will-O-Wisp because Seismitoad can be easily worn down, especially without its Leftovers, meaning sets utilizing Expert Belt have to be particularly cautious.

Team Options
========

Seismitoad fits best on offensive builds that benefit from its ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock without giving up momentum and keeping threatening Pokemon like Swords Dance Scizor in check. U-turn and Volt Switch users like Mega Beedrill and Rotom-C pair well with Seismitoad for their ability to bring it safely into the field. Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Kyurem have good synergy with Seismitoad, since they're able to check Grass-types like Celebi and provide a secondary check to Electric-Types like Mega Manectric and Rotom-C, which Seismitoad usually struggles to deal with on its own. In return, Seismitoad is able to pressure Steel-types like Empoleon and Mega Aggron, while also being able to revenge kill Scizor. Offensive Pokemon that appreciate Stealth Rock support and can pressure common hazard removers like Empoleon and Tentacruel pair well with Seismitoad. Thus Pokemon like Electrium Z Latias and Terrakion make good teammates. Pokemon that can sponge Grass-type attacks such as Rotom-H and Moltres make good teammates for Seismitoad as well, as it's threaten by them a lot. Dragon-type Pokemon like Latias and Mega Sceptile can switch into Seismitoad with ease and hit it hard with one of their STAB moves. As such Dragon-type checks such as Togekiss and Klefki pair well with Seismitoad. Wallbreakers such as Kommo-O and Heracross are able to threaten the special walls that try to tank Seismitoad's attacks, thus making good partners.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Refresh is a viable option on Seismitoad's defensive set, allowing it to cure itself from status conditions, which makes it easier for it to check Pokemon that rely on status to cripple it, such as Empoleon and Rotom-H, better. (There's a reason this isn't on the main set. Talk about the drawbacks to using Refresh, which is losing Toxic, giving it no way of pressuring Latias and Hydreigon.)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types and Grass-type Coverage**: Grass-type Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Rotom-C are able to comfortably switch into Seismitoad and OHKO it back with their STAB moves. (I mean, not really. Rotom-C hates Toxic and takes 50% minimum to Hidden Power Fire if Expert Belt . I'd take note of this in this line.) Rotom-C can also clear Seismitoad's Stealth Rock away from the field with Defog. Additionally, Pokemon that usually carry Grass-type coverage such as Hidden Power Grass Mega Manectric and Grass Knot Nihilego can also threaten Seismitoad, but they have a hard time switching in. (It's not even a hard time switching in, they flat out can't and shouldn't in 95% of situations. Just say "can't switch in")

They must be wary of a potential Toxic, however.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially Defensive Pokemon like Blissey and Articuno can easily switch into Seismitoad's attacks without having to fear anything. Articuno can also clear Seismitoad's Stealth Rock away from the field and it doesn't mind being hit with a Toxic, as it carries Heal Bell more often than not. (I guess Articuno checks it, but it's a C- Pokemon that doesn't see much usage. I'd find a better example here, if possible. If not it's not a big deal, it's just not that relevant, up to you.)

**Strong Attackers**: Seismitoad's sub-optimal bulk leaves it susceptible to strong attackers like Terrakion and Mamoswine, which can easily break through it.

Usage Tips

Seismitoad should be brought in via double switching or on a U-turn or a Volt Switch, as it's not bulky enough to switch directly into attacks. However, (AC) it (de-capitalized "I") can attempt to switch into Pokemon like Rotom-Hor into moves like and Scizor's Bullet Punch, (RC) however. (Needed the rephrase here, as you said "switch into Pokemon", but when you refer to "Scizor's Bullet Punch", it is switching only into a specific move.) Once it's brought into onto the field, Seismitoad should attempt to set up Stealth Rock whenever it forces a foe to switch out, fearing one of its attacks on the switch (this last bit is a little bit clunky and the last clause is so heavily implied that it is unnecessary, so cut it down to help with flow). However, if there's a Pokemon on the opposing team that could remove Stealth Rock from the field like Rotom-C and or Hydreigon (singular --> singular), Seismitoad should either attack accordingly or switch out. Pokemon that can sponge Grass-type attacks such as Rotom-H and Moltres make good teammates for Seismitoad as well, as it's heavily threatened by them a lot ("A lot" can mean in terms of frequency (e.g. "I get injured a lot"), so it's a little bit ambiguous here). Dragon-type Pokemon like Latias and Mega Sceptile can switch into Seismitoad with ease and hit it hard with one of their STAB moves. As such Dragon-type checks such as Togekiss and Klefki pair well with Seismitoad. Wallbreakers such as Kommo-o (De-capitalized "O") and Heracross are able to threaten the special walls that try to tank Seismitoad's attacks, thus making good partners.

Other Options
=============

Refresh is a viable option on Seismitoad's defensive set, allowing it to cure itself from status conditions, which makes it easier for it to check Pokemon that rely on status to cripple it, such as Empoleon and Rotom-H, better. However, it forces Seismitoad to give up on Toxic, which means it has a much harder time pressuring bulky Water-types like Slowbro, (AC) while also allowing and that Pokemon like Latias and Hydreigon can to freely switch into it without any difficulty. (Out of interest, is there a reason it has to give up Toxic, rather than, say, EQ?)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types and Grass-type Coverage**: Amoonguss is one of Seismitoad's biggest counters, as it's able to comfortably switch into any of its moves and OHKO it with its Grass-type STAB move. Although Pokemon like Rotom-C and Tsareena take a lot from an Expert Belt-boosted Hidden Power Fire, they can also threaten Seismitoad heavily a lot, as they're also able to remove Seismitoad's Stealth Rock from the field with Defog or and Rapid Spin, respectively. Additionally, Pokemon that usually carry Grass-type coverage such as Hidden Power Grass Mega Manectric and Grass Knot Nihilego can also ("Additionally" + "also" creates a redundancy) pressure Seismitoad, but they can't switch in.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially defensive (de-capitalized "D") Pokemon like Blissey and Articuno can easily switch into Seismitoad's attacks without having to fear anything from it. Articuno can also clear Seismitoad's Stealth Rock away from the field and it Blissey (Articuno doesn't have Heal Bell, so I imagine you meant Blissey here; also, with that in mind, doesn't Articuno need to worry about Toxic?) doesn't mind being hit with a Toxic, as it carries Heal Bell more often than not. (I mean, it has Natural Cure too, so it doesn't really care about Toxic unless it comes down to a 1-v-1 anyway.)

**Strong Attackers**: Seismitoad's sub-optimal bulk leaves it susceptible to strong attackers like Terrakion and Mamoswine, which can easily break through it.

[OVERVIEW]

Seismitoad's niche over other Ground-type Stealth Rock setters in this the metagame lies in its access to Water Absorb, which allows it to threaten common Water-type Pokemon like Slowbro and Empoleon more easily. Its above average Speed also allows it to fill a more offensive role on some teams, (RC) while also providing some defensive utility by offensively checking Pokemon like Scizor, Crawdaunt, Choice Specs Primarina, and Volcanion. This is only aggravated by its vulnerability to status moves, specifically Toxic, which hinders Seismitoad's ability to check the Pokemon it's supposed to in the long run. Its 4x weakness to Grass-type attacks also holds it back defensively, making it harder for it to check Pokemon like Infernape, Zeraora, and Mega Manectric due to their access to Grass-type coverage moves like Grass Knot and Hidden Power Grass.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Water Absorb grants Seismitoad with an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Choice Specs Primarina and Volcanion.

Usage Tips
========

It's safe to switch into a Water-type attack from a Choice-locked Pokemon like Primarina or Volcanion, however, or when it's certain that the opponent will use said move. Since it doesn't have access to reliable recovery, Seismitoad can be easily worn down and, as such, it should try to avoid tanking hits unnecessarily, as that would hinder its ability to check what it's intended to.

========

Latias and Hydreigon are exceptionally good partners because they're also able to provide a secondary check to Electric-types like Mega Manectric and Zeraora, Pokemon which that Seismitoad has trouble dealing with on its own. Wish support from Pokemon like Alomomola and Florges is appreciated, as Seismitoad is prone to being worn down due to the its lack of reliable recovery.

Moves
========

Earth Power is notable for OHKOing Pokemon like Volcanion and Cobalion when holding an Expert Belt. Hidden Power Fire allows Seismitoad to revenge kill offensive Scizor, which other moves fail to do. Sludge Wave can also be used, allowing Seismitoad to hit Pokemon like Primarina, Rotom-C, and Celebi super effectively.

Set Details
========

228 Speed EVs should be used with Expert Belt to outspeed Volcanion, one of the its main targets. It also allows Seismitoad to outspeed base 60s like Primarina and Bewear.

Usage Tips
========

Seismitoad should be brought in via double switching or on a U-turn or Volt Switch, as it's not bulky enough to switch directly into attacks. However, it can attempt to switch into Pokemon like Rotom-H or into moves like Scizor's Bullet Punch. Once it's brought onto the field, Seismitoad should attempt to set up Stealth Rock on the switch on a free turn due to its ability to force switches. (uu qc) However, if there's a Pokemon on the opposing team that could remove Stealth Rock from the field like Rotom-C or Hydreigon, Seismitoad should either attack accordingly or switch out.

========

Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Kyurem have good synergy with Seismitoad, since they're able to check Grass-types like Celebi and provide a secondary check to Electric-types like Mega Manectric and Rotom-C, (you talk about rotom-c quite a bit maybe mention zeraora instead uu qc) which Seismitoad usually struggles to deal with on its own. In return, Seismitoad is able to pressure Steel-types like Empoleon and Mega Aggron, (RC) while also being able to revenge kill Scizor. Offensive Pokemon that appreciate Stealth Rock support and can pressure common hazard removers like Empoleon and Tentacruel pair well with Seismitoad. Thus, Pokemon like Terrakion and Electrium Z Latias and Terrakion make good teammates. Wallbreakers such as Kommo-o and Heracross are able to threaten the special walls that try to tank Seismitoad's attacks, thus making good partners.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Refresh is a viable option on Seismitoad's defensive set, allowing it to cure itself from status conditions, which makes it easier for it to check Pokemon that rely on status to cripple it, such as Empoleon and Rotom-H, better. However, it forces Seismitoad to give up Toxic, which means it has a much harder time pressuring bulky Water-types like Slowbro, (RC) while also allowing Pokemon like Latias and Hydreigon to freely switch into it without any difficulty.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types and Grass-type Coverage**: Amoonguss is one of Seismitoad's biggest counters, as it's able to comfortably switch into any of its moves and OHKO it with its Grass-type STAB move. Although Pokemon like Rotom-C and Tsareena take a lot from an Expert Belt-boosted Hidden Power Fire, they can also threaten Seismitoad heavily, as they're also able to remove Seismitoad's Stealth Rock from the field with Defog and Rapid Spin, respectively.

Articuno can also clear Seismitoad's Stealth Rock away from the field and it doesn't mind being hit with a Toxic, as it carries Heal Bell more often than not. (it always carries heal bell + also mention freeze-dry uu qc)

**Strong Attackers**: Seismitoad's sub-(RH)optimal bulk leaves it susceptible to strong attackers like Terrakion and Mamoswine, which can easily break through it.
