UU Seismitoad [QC: 3/3] [GP: 2/2]

[OVERVIEW]

Seismitoad separates itself from other Ground-type Stealth Rock setters thanks to its additional Water typing and access to Water Absorb, which allows it to easily pivot into Pokemon such as Rotom-H, Rotom-W, and Assault Vest Galarian Slowbro. These qualities also let Seismitoad threaten other entry hazard setters such as Krookodile, Rhyperior, and Jirachi. Seismitoad has a positive matchup against some of the entry hazard removers of the tier such as the aforementioned Rotom formes and Tentacruel. Though the playstyle is niche, Seismitoad is a valuable asset on rain teams as a Stealth Rock setter and wallbreaker that does well against offensive threats such as Raikou and Lycanroc-D due to its defensive typing. However, Seismitoad's lack of reliable recovery outside of Leftovers makes it vulnerable to status effects and Knock Off from the likes of Mew. Seismitoad's crippling weakness to Grass-types gives Pokemon like Amoonguss and Zarude free entry and bad matchups against threats that carry Grass-type coverage moves such as Nihilego and Gyarados. Seismitoad also faces competition from Gastrodon, as it has access to Recover, though Seismitoad has important access to Stealth Rock and is less passive. Defensive Seismitoad also has to compete with other Stealth Rock setters such as Rhyperior and Krookodile, which offer greater offensive presence.

[SET]
name: Defensive Stealth Rock
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Scald
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Toxic / Knock Off
item: Leftovers
ability: Water Absorb
nature: Impish
evs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Seismitoad can use Stealth Rock after pivoting into Pokemon such as Lycanroc-D and Celesteela. Seismitoad walls Defog Rotom-W and Rotom-H lacking status moves, so it is able to consistently keep Stealth Rock in front of teams relying on them for entry hazard removal. Scald gives Seismitoad a chance to burn switch-ins such as Kommo-o and Tapu Bulu. It also provides long-term chip damage on Amoonguss so it does not get the most out of Regenerator. Earthquake gives Seismitoad a better matchup against Calm Mind users like Keldeo and Galarian Slowbro at the cost of reducing Scald's damage output. Earth Power is usable to hit targets like Kommo-o harder but is generally not worth it, as Seismitoad now becomes setup fodder for the aforementioned Keldeo and Galarian Slowbro, and Earth Power fails to OHKO Nihilego. Toxic makes Seismitoad less passive against the likes of Tangrowth and Gastrodon switching in. It also helps Seismitoad outlast other Defoggers such as Salamence and Rotom-W. Knock Off is another option for crippling other switch-ins such as Amoonguss and Chansey, but it makes Seismitoad more passive against other Water-types such as Primarina and Gastrodon. 64 Speed EVs enable Seismitoad to outspeed Adamant Azumarill.

Seismitoad fits best on bulky offense and balance teams that appreciate its defensive qualities and Stealth Rock support. Steel-types such as Scizor and Celesteela have excellent defensive type synergy with Seismitoad. Scizor provides a greater offensive presence that pressures Tangrowth better, whereas Celesteela is able to better handle Amoonguss and Hatterene. Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tangrowth are recommended because Seismitoad struggles to check Primarina, Keldeo, and Azumarill by itself, and they act as good Knock Off sponges for Seismitoad to maintain Leftovers. Wallbreakers that blow through Grass-types such as Salamence and Nasty Plot Rotom-H are appreciated. Defoggers such as Moltres and Rotom-H help keep entry hazards off the field to help maintain Seismitoad's longevity. Additionally, they help provide a stronger backbone against Scizor, and they also appreciate Seismitoad pressuring Rotom-H. Sylveon is also a good support teammate to keep Seismitoad healthy with Wish and Heal Bell while also checking Dragon-types like Kommo-o and Salamence that would otherwise give Seismitoad a more difficult time. The pair also provide a solid backbone against Keldeo. Togekiss can similarly play the role of a cleric and assist in pressuring Grass-types like Zarude and Tapu Bulu. In exchange, Seismitoad helps in wearing down Rotom-W, Rhyperior, and non-Grass Knot Nihilego.

[SET]
name: Rain Sweeper
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Weather Ball / Hydro Pump
move 3: Earth Power
move 4: Sludge Wave
item: Life Orb
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Modest
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Seismitoad has to be more cautious about finding opportunities to set up Stealth Rock, as it is no longer immune to Rotom-W's Hydro Pump, but it does help Seismitoad chip some other answers to rain teams like Amoonguss and Gastrodon. Under rain, Weather Ball comfortably OHKOes many neutral targets such as Conkeldurr and Thundurus-T and 2HKOes targets that resist it such as defensive Salamence after some chip damage. Hydro Pump is an alternative option to deal more damage against specially defensive Pokemon like Sylveon and Celesteela, but its accuracy makes it more unreliable overall. Earth Power 2HKOes threats such as Amoonguss and Gastrodon after some chip damage. Sludge Wave destroys Grass- and Fairy-types such as physically defensive Tangrowth, Tapu Bulu, and Primarina while also finishing off a weakened Salamence or Noivern. A Modest nature maximizes Seismitoad's damage output. Timid can be used to outspeed Choice Scarf Zarude, though the drop in power is less than ideal.

This Seismitoad set fits only on rain teams, and its teammates should be able to help break through Pokemon it cannot such as Milotic and Chansey. Politoed switches into Pokemon that Seismitoad can have trouble breaking through like Gastrodon and cripples them with Toxic for residual damage or Hypnosis to give Seismitoad additional opportunities to set up Stealth Rock. Other Swift Swim users like Kingdra can help Seismitoad overwhelm aforementioned threats such as Amoonguss and Celesteela. Crawdaunt is an excellent partner that lures in and destroys bulky Grass-types like Tangrowth with a Swords Dance-boosted Knock Off, and it has priority in Aqua Jet to hit faster foes. Thundurus-T provides a good backup check to a weakened Raikou that also rips through Celesteela while potentially breaking through Chansey with a Nasty Plot-boosted Focus Blast. Offensive Salamence can act as a Defogger that keeps Seismitoad from being too worn down by entry hazards in conjunction with Life Orb. It is also decent at handling the Grass-types of the tier, namely Amoonguss and Choice Scarf Zarude.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Power Whip is usable on the rain set over Stealth Rock to muscle through other Water-types, but this is very difficult to fit, as the playstyle does not have room for other entry hazard setters. A physical Seismitoad can open the door for teammates like Kingdra by blowing through Chansey, Salamence, and Gastrodon with Earthquake, Ice Punch, and Power Whip, respectively, though this gives Seismitoad a worse matchup against Buzzwole. Seismitoad can run more offensive EV spreads on its traditional Stealth Rock set with good coverage options such as Sludge Wave. However, this considerably cuts into Seismitoad's bulk, which is often less than ideal.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-type Pokemon and Coverage Moves**: Seismitoad's defensive set often invites in Pokemon like Tangrowth and Amoonguss, which are more difficult to outlast due to Regenerator. Zarude has Jungle Healing to remove status, and the Choice Scarf variant outspeeds Modest Seismitoad in rain. This weakness to Grass also means that Pokemon such as Gyarados and Nihilego can threaten Seismitoad with coverage moves like Power Whip and Grass Knot, respectively. Gyarados can even use Seismitoad as an opportunity to set up if it is running Lum Berry.

**Powerful Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Nidoqueen and Crawdaunt greatly hinder Seismitoad's ability to act as a pivot because of their powerful secondary STAB attacks, taking advantage of its passivity and lack of recovery. However, they do not appreciate switching into Seismitoad due to its STAB moves or fear of status.

**Setup Sweepers**: Pokemon such as Galarian Moltres and Kommo-o can force Seismitoad out or use it as setup fodder due to its relative passivity. However, they have to be weary of Toxic putting them on a timer or Scald crippling their offensive prowess.

- Seismitoad separates itself from other Ground-type Stealth Rock setters with its additional Water-typing and access to Water Absorb, which allows it to easily pivot into Pokemon such as Rotom-H, Rotom-W, and Moltres. I wouldn't really call it a Moltres pivot when a potential Hurricane 2HKOs These also lets Seismitoad threaten other hazard setters such as Krookodile, Nidoqueen, and Jirachi.
- Seismitoad also does well against some of the offensive metagame as it checks Raikou and Lycanroc-D due to its defensive typing.
- Seismitoad is a viable asset on rain teams for its role compression as an Electric- immunity, Stealth Rock setter, and wallbreaker.
- However, Seismitoad's lack of reliable recovery outside of Leftovers makes it vulnerable to Knock Off from the likes of Nihilego and Krookodile. This also leaves Seismitoad weak to status by Pokemon like Rotom-W and Chandelure.
- Seismitoad's crippling weakness to Grass-types gives Pokemon like Amoonguss free entry and allows Pokemon it would otherwise check like Thundurus-I to threaten it with potential coverage.
- Seismitoad also faces direct competition from Gastrodon, as the latter has greater longevity with Recover. However unlike Seismitoad, Gastrodon does not have access to Knock Off and Stealth Rock.
- defensive Seismitoad also has to compete with other Stealth Rock setters such as Rhyperior and Krookodile who offer a greater offensive presence.

Paragraph 1
- Seismitoad can use Stealth Rock after pivoting on Pokemon such as Lycanroc-D and Celesteela. Seismitoad walls Defog Rotom-W and Rotom-H lacking status moves so it is able to consistently keep Stealth Rock in front of teams relying on them for hazard removal.
- Scald is a spammable STAB that punishes switch-ins such as Primarina and Tapu Bulu with a potential burn. It also provides long term chip damage on Amoonguss, so it does not get the most out of Regenerator.
- The choice of Earth Power and Earthquake comes down to team preference. Earth Power wears down targets like Kommo-o better, whereas Earthquake gives Seismitoad a better matchup against Calm Mind users like Keldeo and Galarian Slowbro at the cost of reducing Scald's damage output. These targets are way more valuable than hitting Kommo-o harder. Being able to pressure a CM Glowbro rather than being setup fodder is way better + this also lets you OHKO Nihilego. Keep Earth Power as a mention here though.
- Toxic makes Seismitoad less passive against the likes of Tangrowth switching in. It also helps Seismitoad outlast other Defoggers such as Salamence. You should mention Washtom here as all Seis can do otherwise is spam Scald vs it
- Knock Off is another option for crippling other switch-ins such as Amoonguss and Chansey, but makes Seismitoad more passive against other Water-types such as Primarina and Gastrodon.
- 68 Speed EVs enables Seismitoad to outspeed 136 Speed Scizor and by extension Adamant Azumarill. The rest of its EVs are put into maximizing its physical bulk.

Paragraph 2
- Seismitoad fits best on bulky offense and balance teams that appreciate its defensive qualities while providing Stealth Rock support.
- Steel-types such as Scizor and Celesteela have excellent defensive type synergy with Sesmitoad. Scizor provides a greater offensive presence that pressures Tangrowth better, whereas Celesteela is able to better handle Amoonguss and Primarina
- Wallbreakers that blow through Grass-types such as Salamence and Nasty Plot Rotom-H are appreciated. It would be nice to extend on them also being able to run hazard removal sets, which helps improve Seis's longevity
- Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tangrowth are recommended because Seismitoad struggles to check Toxic Raikou and Azumarill by itself, and they act as good Knock Off sponges for Seismitoad to maintain Leftovers. They also appreciate Seismitoad pressuring Mamoswine.

Mention Sylveon as it can provide Wish support + it checks Dragon-types like Kommo-o and Salamence that can take advantage of Seis. Both of them together also cover Keldeo very nicely.

Togekiss can be mentioned too as potential cleric support + pressures Grass-types like Zarude and Bulu. In return, it appreciates Seismitoad wearing down Washtom and checking Rhyperior + non-Grass Knot Nihilego.

Paragraph 1
- Seismitoad has to be more cautious about finding opportunities to set up Stealth Rock, as it is no longer immune to Rotom-W's Hydro Pump, but it does help Seismitoad chip some of rain's other answers like Amoonguss and Gastrodon.
- Hydro Pump is Seismitoad's strongest option; under rain. it comfortably OHKOes many neutral targets such as Conkeldurr and Thundurus-T. It also 2HKOes resistances such as defensive Salamence after some chip damage.
- Surf Weather Ball is an alternative as a more accurate STAB, but it is not as reliable at OHKOing neutral targets, or at weakening resistances such as Keldeo on the switch into range of Earth Power. Weather Ball's added power lets it pick up these neutral KOs, the main downside would be struggling to muscle through more SpD walls like Cele and Sylveon with the lower dmg rolls. Swap the two mentions around and move the examples of what Hydro KOs into the Weather Ball point instead.
- Earth Power is a reliable STAB option that 2HKOes other rain answers such as Amoonguss and Gastrodon after some chip damage.
- Sludge Wave destroys Grass- and Fairy-types such as Tangrowth, You'll need to state phys def tang because AV stomaches and KOs back Tapu Bulu, and Primarina. It is also more accurate than Hydro Pump when finishing off a weakened Salamence.
- Seismitoad uses a modest nature to maximize its damage output. Timid can be used to outspeed Choice Scarf Zarude and Keldeo though the drop in power is less than ideal.

Paragraph 2
- This Seismitoad set fits only primarily on Rain teams, and Seismioad's teammates should be able to help break through Pokemon Seismitoad cannot such as Milotic and Chansey.
- Politoad's support set switches in on other Pokemon that Seismitoad can have trouble breaking through like Gastrodon and cripple them with Toxic or Hypnosis. You should probs have a small statement saying toed is the only Drizzle setter that can support Seis.
- Other Swift Swim users like Kingdra can help Seismitoad overwhelm rain answers together such as Gastrodon and Celesteela.
- Barraskewda is an excellent pivot that allows Seismitoad entry on Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu for Sludge Wave. With AV Tang being the most common set I wouldn't rly use it as an example here. Also, I'd frankly rather use Crawdaunt because it actually breaks through the bulky Grass-types way more reliably than Skewda can.
- Thundurus-T provides a good backup check to a weakened Raikou that also rips through Celesteela. The Nasty Plot set can also break through Chansey with Focus Blast if necessary.
- Offensive Salamence can act as a Defogger that appreciates having its Hurricane accuracy boosted on the teams this Seismitoad set is on instead mention this prevents Seis being worn down too much from hazards + LO recoil. It is also decent at handling the Grass-types of the tier, namely Amoonguss and Choice Scarf Zarude.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
- Power Whip on the defensive Stealth Rock set is an option to enable Seismitoad to immediately threaten other Water-types, namely Gastrodon and opposing Seismitoad, but is only justifiable on teams that really struggle to break through them. I'd give a small mention that one could run Power Whip on its offensive rain set over rocks to beat Water-types more easily but mention that it's very difficult to fit other rock users on this playstyle.
- A physical Seismitoad set using Liquidation to blow through Chansey can be used on rain teams to open teammates like Kingdra but this gives up Seismitoad's ability to bait the Grass-types with Sludge Wave and pressure Skarmory out. This set would run Ice Punch but you should say how it fails to 2HKO Amoonguss or even AV Tang.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Grass-types and Grass-type coverage**: Seismitoad's defensive set of often lets in Pokemon like Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu, though the latter hates being burned. Amoongus is the biggest offender due to its immunity to Toxic and neutrality to Sludge Wave from Swift Swim variants. Zarude also poses problems, as Jungle Healing removes status and the Choice Scarf variant outspeeds modest Seismitoad in rain. This weakness to Grass- also means that Pokemon such as Gyarados and Nihelego can threaten Seismitoad with coverage like Power Whip and Grass Knot, respectively. Gyarados can even use Seismitoad as an opportunity to set up with Lum Berry.

**Powerful Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Primarina and Choice Specs Keldeo greatly hinder Seismitoad's ability to act as a pivot because of it's passivity and lack of reliable recovery. It's mainly due to them having strong secondary STAB moves that threaten to 2HKO it Though they have to fear status upon switching in.

**Setup Sweepers**: Pokemon such as Galarian Moltres and Kommo-o can use Seismitoad setup fodder due to its relative passivity and force it out. However, they have to be weary of Toxic putting them on a timer or Scald crippling their offensive prowess.

Both of them can also provide Defog support to improve Seismitoad's longevity. not sure how much I like the defog mention considering Nasty Pot Rotom-H can never fit it. Seismitoad separates itself from other Ground-type Stealth Rock setters with its additional Water-typing and access to Water Absorb, which allows it to easily pivot into Pokemon such as Rotom-H, Rotom-W, and Scald Assualt Vest Galarian Slowbro. These also lets ? Seismitoad threaten other hazard setters such as Krookodile, Rhyperior, and Jirachi. It also has a positive matchup against some of the defoggers of the tier such as the aforementioned Rotom formes and Moltres imo rephrase this to removal to include Tentacruel. Seismitoad also does well against some of the offensive metagame as it checks Raikou and Lycanroc-D due to its defensive typing. Seismitoad is a viable asset on rain teams for its role compression as an Electric- immunity, Stealth Rock setter, and wallbreaker. However, rain as a playstyle is rather niche just make the rain set + it's niche into one sentence and maybe reconsider where it goes for the sake of flow. However, Seismitoad's lack of reliable recovery outside of Leftovers makes it vulnerable to Knock Off from the likes of Nihilego and Krookodile double "however" reads weirdly. This also leaves Seismitoad weak to status by Pokemon like Rotom-W and Chandelure chandy is kinda poor now, opt for mew instead here and you can combine it w the prior in that mew has knock access as well. Seismitoad's crippling weakness to Grass-types gives Pokemon like Amoonguss free entry and allows Pokemon it would otherwise check like Nihilego to threaten it with potential coverage i think this is better as separate points on . Seismitoad also faces direct competition from Gastrodon, as the latter has greater longevity with Recover. However unlike Seismitoad, Gastrodon does not have access to Knock Off and Stealth Rock im not strongly against comparing gastro and seis but stealth rock is a huge factor so id tone down the competition part. Seismitoad can use Stealth Rock after pivoting on Pokemon such as Lycanroc-D and Celesteela. Seismitoad walls Defog Rotom-W and Rotom-H lacking status moves so it is able to consistently keep Stealth Rock in front of teams relying on them for hazard removal. It also provides long term chip damage on Amoonguss, so it does not get the most out of Regenerator. Knock Off is another option for crippling other switch-ins such as Amoonguss and Chansey, but makes Seismitoad more passive against other Water-types such as Primarina and Gastrodon. 64 speed EVs enables Seismitoad to outspeed Adamant Azumarill. The rest of its EVs are put into maximizing its physical bulk.

Seismitoad fits best on bulky offense and balance teams that appreciate its defensive qualities while providing Stealth Rock support. Steel-types such as Scizor and Celesteela have excellent defensive type synergy with Sesmitoad. Scizor provides a greater offensive presence that pressures Tangrowth better, whereas Celesteela is able to better handle Amoonguss and Hatterene. Wallbreakers that blow through Grass-types such as Salamence and Nasty Plot Rotom-H are appreciated. Defoggers such as Moltres and Rotom-W i don't rly get using rotom w here instead of rotom h, having heat with molt also strengths the against sciz bitare good defoggers that help keep hazards off to help maintain Seismitoad's longevity. Additionally they help provide a stronger backbone against Scizor. Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tangrowth are recommended because Seismitoad struggles to check Primarina, Keldeo, and Azumarill by itself, and they act as good Knock Off sponges for Seismitoad to maintain Leftovers i think this could be moved to be closer with partnering it with steela since how they hate knock. They also appreciate Seismitoad pressuring Rotom-H. Sylveon is also a good support teammate to keep Seismitoad healthy with Wish and Heal Bell while also checking Dragon-types like Kommo-o and Salamence that would otherwise give Seismitoad a more difficult time. The pair also provides a solid backbone against Keldeo. Togekiss can similarly play the role of a cleric, but assist in pressuring the Grass-types like Zarude and Tapu Bulu. In exchange, Seismitoad helps in wearing down Rotom-W, Rhyperior, and non-Grass Knot Nihilego.

Paragraph 1
Seismitoad has to be more cautious about finding opportunities to set up Stealth Rock, as it is no longer immune to Rotom-W's Hydro Pump, but it does help Seismitoad chip some of rain's other answers like Amoonguss and Gastrodon. Weather Ball is Seismitoad's most reliable option. Under rain, it comfortably OHKOes many neutral targets such as Conkeldurr and Thundurus-T. It also 2HKOes resistances such as defensive Salamence after some chip damage. Hydro Pump is Seismitoad's strongest option, which helps Seismitoad have better odds against specially defensive Pokemon like Sylveon and Celesteela and, but its accuracy makes it more unreliable overall. Earth Power is a reliable STAB option that 2HKOes other rain answers such as Amoonguss and Gastrodon after some chip damage. Sludge Wave destroys Grass- and Fairy-types such as physically defensive Tangrowth, Tapu Bulu, and Primarina. It is useful at finishing off a weakened Salamence or Noivern. Seismitoad uses a modest nature to maximize its damage output. Timid can be used to outspeed Choice Scarf Zarude though the drop in power is less than ideal.

Paragraph 2
This Seismitoad set fits only on Rain teams, and Seismioad's teammates should be able to help break through Pokemon Seismitoad cannot such as Milotic and Chansey. Politoad is the only Drizzle user, but its support set switches in on other Pokemon that Seismitoad can have trouble breaking through like Gastrodon and cripple them with Toxic for residual damage or Hypnosis to give Seismitoad additional opportunities for Stealth Rock. Other Swift Swim users like Kingdra can help Seismitoad overwhelm rain answers together such as Gastrodon and Celesteela Amoonguss and Celesteela. Crawdaunt is an excellent partner that lures and destroys the bulky Grass-types like Tangrowth with a Swords Dance boosted Knock Off, and has priority in Aqua Jet which helps add some speed control outside of Rain. Thundurus-T provides a good backup check to a weakened Raikou that also rips through Celesteela. The Nasty Plot set can also break through Chansey with Focus Blast if necessary. Offensive Salamence can act as a Defogger that keeps Seismitoad from being too worn down by hazards in conjunction with Life Orb. It is also decent at handling the Grass-types of the tier, namely Amoonguss and Choice Scarf Zarude.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Power Whip on the defensive Stealth Rock set is an option to enable Seismitoad to immediately threaten other Water-types, namely Gastrodon and opposing Seismitoad, but is only justifiable on teams that really struggle to break through them. Power Whip is also usable on the offensive rain variant over Stealth Rock to muscle through other Water-types, but this is very difficult to fit as the playstyle does not have room for other hazard setters. A physical Seismitoad set using Liquidation to blow through Chansey can be used on rain teams to open teammates like Kingdra but this gives up Seismitoad's ability to bait the Grass-types with Sludge Wave, as Ice Punch fails to OHKO even Tangrowth's Assault Vest set. i think physical rain toad isnt terrible but it should be about the different coverage liquid/ice/whip gets u Seismitoad can invest into its offensive stats more into its traditional Stealth Rock set with good coverage options such as Sludge Wave, however this considerably cuts into Seismitoad's bulk which is often less than ideal.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Grass-types and Grass-type coverage**: Seismitoad's defensive set of ? often lets in Pokemon like Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu, though the latter hates being burned. Amoonguss is the biggest offender due to its immunity to Toxic and neutrality to Sludge Wave from Swift Swim variants. i think this would be more smooth having tang and amoon together with regen since bulu will be worn down by toxic faster n more bothered by scald burn Zarude also poses problems, as Jungle Healing removes status and the Choice Scarf variant outspeeds modest Seismitoad in rain. This weakness to Grass- also means that Pokemon such as Gyarados and Nihelego Nihilego can threaten Seismitoad with coverage like Power Whip and Grass Knot, respectively. Gyarados can even use Seismitoad as an opportunity to set up if it is running Lum Berry.

**Powerful Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Primarina and Choice Specs Keldeo greatly hinder Seismitoad's ability to act as a pivot because of their strong secondary STAB that threaten a 2HKO, there's an extra space it's passivity, and lack of reliable recovery. just use different wallbreakers Though they have to fear status upon switching in.

**Setup Sweepers**: Pokemon such as Galarian Moltres and Kommo-o can use Seismitoad setup fodder due to its relative passivity and force it out. However, they have to be weary of Toxic putting them on a timer or Scald crippling their offensive prowess.

Seismitoad has to be more cautious about finding opportunities to set up Stealth Rock, as it is no longer immune to Rotom-W's Hydro Pump, but it does help Seismitoad chip some of rain's other answers to rain teams like Amoonguss and Gastrodon. Under rain, Weather Ball is Seismitoad's most reliable option, as under rain, it comfortably OHKOes many neutral targets such as Conkeldurr and Thundurus-T and 2HKOes targets that resist it such as defensive Salamence after some chip damage. Hydro Pump is Seismitoad's strongest option, which helps Seismitoad is an alternative option to deal more damage against specially defensive Pokemon like Sylveon and Celesteela, but its accuracy makes it more unreliable overall. Earth Power is a reliable STAB option that 2HKOes other rain answers threats (You already mentioned that they are answers to rain teams) such as Amoonguss and Gastrodon after some chip damage. Sludge Wave destroys Grass- and Fairy-types such as physically defensive Tangrowth, Tapu Bulu, and Primarina while also finishing off a weakened Salamence or Noivern. A Modest nature maximizes its Seismitoad's damage output. Timid can be used to outspeed Choice Scarf Zarude, though the drop in power is less than ideal.

This Seismitoad set fits only on rain teams, and its teammates should be able to help break through Pokemon it cannot such as Milotic and Chansey. Politoed switches into Pokemon that Seismitoad can have trouble breaking through like Gastrodon and cripple cripples them with Toxic for residual damage or Hypnosis to give Seismitoad additional opportunities to set up Stealth Rock. Other Swift Swim users like Kingdra can help Seismitoad overwhelm rain answers together aforementioned threats such as Amoonguss and Celesteela.

Other Options
=============

===================

**Grass-type Pokemon and Coverage Moves**: Seismitoad's defensive set often invites in Pokemon like Tangrowth and Amoonguss, (AC) which are more difficult to outlast due to Regenerator.
