[OVERVIEW]

Servine's main niche is being a bulky Defog user that can take on most Stealth Rock users due to its Grass typing. Access to Contrary and Leaf Storm also allows it to boost its Special Attack while using a strong STAB move, and access to reliable recovery in Synthesis helps Servine stay around longer. A decent Speed tier also lets Servine outspeed base 80 Speed Pokemon like Mesprit and Shiftry. Servine's bulk is decent, but a mediocre defensive typing isn't anything to write home about, and as it relies on Eviolite, it is very susceptible to Knock Off and should be wary of Pokemon that commonly use it. A low Special Attack stat means that Servine won't be doing much damage until it gets a boost, meaning that Pokemon like Assault Vest Hitmonchan can take it on. Servine also lacks special coverage moves, leaving offensive sets limited to a Grass-type STAB attack and Hidden Power and forcing it to choose which Pokemon it wants to beat. Leaf Storm's low PP also limits how much Servine can break through a team. Furthermore, Servine faces competition as a Defog user from Pokemon like Skuntank and Shiftry, which have either a better typing or better utility. Its main competition is Lurantis, which has the ability to run physical or mixed sets, is stronger and bulkier, and can afford to run different items, though Servine's main niche over Lurantis is its Speed.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Leaf Storm is Servine's strongest STAB move and raises its Special Attack by two stages when used thanks to Contrary. Defog allows Servine to function as a form of entry hazard control by removing Stealth Rock and Spikes from the field. Synthesis is a reliable form of recovery that lets Servine stick around longer to use Defog more or get mini-sweeps with Leaf Storm. Hidden Power Ice allows Servine to hit several Pokemon that resist or are immune to Leaf Storm such as Drampa, Alolan Exeggutor, and most Grass- and Flying-types.

Set Details
========

Eviolite boosts Servine's bulk, allowing it to take hits better. Maximum Speed EVs with a Timid nature maximize Servine's Speed, allowing it to outpace Pokemon like Alolan Raticate, Shiftry, and Mesprit and maximum HP EVs increase its overall bulk to allow it to Defog later in a game. Contrary is Servine's best ability, allowing it to use its main niche in a powerful Leaf Storm more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

Servine should be brought in on defensively oriented Pokemon like Clefairy, Ferroseed, and Gastrodon and Defog away entry hazards that the former two can set up. It also can switch into and beat other common Stealth Rock setters like Regirock and Carracosta, with its Grass-typing allowing it to check them. Servine can switch into some offensively oriented Pokemon, though only ones it has a type advantage against, as its bulk isn't too great. Servine is generally used more in a support role and shouldn't be solely relied on for an offensive sweep, though it can do this in a pinch. Servine should try and keep its HP as high as possible with Synthesis so it has more opportunities to come in and take care of hazards. Contrary also allows Servine to be a Defog and Sticky Web deterrent, as the boosts they give to Servine's evasion and Speed can be annoying for opposing teams. However, Servine is heavily pressured by many common offensive Pokemon like Pyroar and Skuntank, meaning that it may have to switch out immediately if it isn't absolutely necessary to remove hazards.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that take large amounts of damage from Stealth Rock like Articuno and Oricorio-G appreciate Servine's role as a hazard remover. Archeops particularly likes Servine, as in addition to providing Defog support, Servine can handle defensive Rock- and Ground-types that give Archeops trouble such as Regirock and Gastrodon. Meanwhile, Archeops handles Grass- and Flying-types that Servine either gets outsped by or struggles against like Swanna and Roselia. Lanturn is able to take advantage of Servine's ability to check Pokemon like Gastrodon and opposing Lanturn while taking care of Pokemon like Swanna for Servine. As Grass-types like Servine have many weaknesses, it should partner with Pokemon that can safely take strong hits from them. Defensive Carracosta and Golem both take Fire-, Flying-, and Poison-type attacks fairly well and appreciate Servine's ability to beat most bulky Water-types. Strong wallbreakers like Stoutland and Choice Specs Mesprit can wear down a team to where Servine can clean up late-game if a team's faster threats are removed. On the other hand, Servine's bulk also means that it struggles with strong breakers, so Pokemon that can take on the aforementioned Pokemon like Weezing and defensive Mesprit also help Servine.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Glare can be used as a form of speed control, though Servine has a hard time justifying it over the utility of Defog and Synthesis, and choosing a support move over Hidden Power Ice leaves it walled or more threatened by many Pokemon. Aromatherapy can be used for team support but suffers the same fate as Glare in that it's hard to choose what move to give up. Hidden Power Fire can be used as a way to immediately beat Ferroseed, Alolan Sandslash, and other Steel-types, though it leaves Servine more open to Dragon-types like Drampa. Alternatively, Hidden Power Rock can be used to still hit Flying-types while also giving Servine the ability to hit Fire-types like Pyroar super effectively, though doing so leaves Servine unable to hit Grass- and Dragon-types super effectively. Knock Off is an option to cripple Pokemon that may otherwise be a nuisance to Servine or its teammates such as Clefairy and Gurdurr. Taunt makes it even easier for Servine to beat most entry hazard setters, as it can prevent them from setting hazards up at all. A SubSeed set can be used, though it is generally outclassed by other Grass-types like Gourgeist-XL and Jumpluff. A specially defensive set with Mirror Coat can be used to take a hit from strong special attackers and surprise Pokemon like Haunter and Drampa.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types in general are a problem for Servine, as they check it and can normally beat it one-on-one. In particular, Pyroar outspeeds Servine and is able to heavily damage or OHKO it with Fire Blast. Ninetales can also outspeed Servine and use it to set up Nasty Plot.

**Ice-types**: Abomasnow, in addition to beating Servine with Blizzard, also sets up hail, which limits how much Servine can recover with Synthesis. Aurorus acts similarly but can only reliably beat Servine if it is at full HP and Servine doesn't have any boosts. Jynx is able to outspeed Servine and OHKO it with Ice Beam.

**Flying-types**: Oricorio-G, Swanna, and Archeops are all very viable Flying-types that beat Servine. Oricorio-G can safely come in almost always, and while the latter two can't directly switch into a Leaf Storm safely, they can come in and OHKO Servine with their STAB moves.

**Pokemon Resistant to or Immune to Grass**: Weezing, Skuntank, and Haunter resist Leaf Storm and easily threaten Servine, though Weezing has to be careful about taking too much prior damage. Pokemon with Sap Sipper like Drampa come in freely on Servine and leave it unable to damage them too much.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Stoutland and Alolan Raticate easily threaten Servine due to its mediocre bulk, though Servine does outspeed them and can beat them if it already has Contrary boosts.

Hey this is updated woohoo, the stuff that I normally leave bare like set details and usage tips are still bare bc I still don't exactly know what to say for them but I feel better about this one than I do with some others I've done

  • Servine's main niche is its access to Contrary Leaf Storm, allowing it to boost its Special Attack while using a strong STAB move.
  • Access to reliable reliable recovery in Synthesis helps Servine stay around longer.
  • A wide range of support moves such as Glare, Defog, Taunt, Leech Seed, Knock Off, and Aromatherapy allows Servine to give a decent amount of help to its teammates. i don't think u should mention taunt,leech,knock,aroma,glare if they aren't on the main set.
  • i'd mention here how it has a solid matchup against a lotta rockers
  • A decent Speed tier lets Servine outspeed base 80 Pokemon like Altaria (idk offensive altaria isn't really the best example) and Shiftry.
  • Servine's bulk isn't anything to write home about and as it relies on Eviolite to help it, it is very susceptible to Knock Off. mention meh defensive typing
  • A low Special Attack w no investment means that Servine won't be doing much damage until it gets a boost.
  • Servine lacks special coverage moves meaning offensive sets are limited to Grass and Hidden Power coverage.
  • Leaf Storm's low PP also limits how much Servine can break through a team.
  • mention comp from other defoggers and like lurantis

  • Eviolite boosts Servine's bulk allowing it to take hits better.
  • The given EVs maximize Servine's Speed, allowing it to outpace Pokemon like offensive Altaria (i don't think this is the best thing, mention like band passimian), Shiftry, and Mesprit while also increasing its overall bulk. i believe you also have to mention nature here
  • Contrary is Servine's best ability allowing it to use Leaf Storm more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

  • Servine should be brought in on defensively oriented Pokemon like Clefairy, Ferroseed, and defensive Mesprit.
  • i'd mention how it's more focused on being a support mon than an attacker
  • Servine should try and keep its HP as high as possible so it has more opportunities to come in and take care of hazards.
  • As a Grass-type, Servine is able to safely switch into a plethora of hazard setters including Regirock, Carracosta, and Palossand where it is able to Defog and also beat most Rock- and Ground-type Pokemon.
  • mention how it should use leaf storm to weaken walls/opponents
  • you could mention how defog gives it an evasion boost and webs give it speed boost which can help defog

Team Options

  • Pokemon that take large amounts of damage from Stealth Rock like Magmortar and Oricorio-G appreciate Servine's role as a hazard remover.
  • Archeops particularly likes Servine as in addition to Defog support, Servine can handle defensive Rock- and Ground-types that give Archeops trouble like Regirock and Gastrodon. Meanwhile, Archeops handles bulky Grass- and Flying types that Servine struggles against like Swanna and Gourgeist-XL.

  • answers to flying,fire,ice,poison, etc. mons v important
  • Strong breakers like Stoutland and Passimian can wear down a team to where Servine can clean up late game if able due to its Contrary Leaf Storms. it's not really a great cleaner unless it's facing weak+slow opponents

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Glare can be used as a form of speed control.
  • Aromatherapy can be used for team support.
  • knock off
  • leech seed + sub, but outclassed by a bunch
  • Hidden Power Fire can be used as a way to beat Ferroseed and other Steel-types though it leaves Servine more open to Dragon-types like Altaria and Drampa.
  • A specially defensive set with Mirror Coat can be used to take a hit from strong special attackers and fire back with a stronger hit.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Pyroar outspeeds Servine and is able to heavily damage or OHKO it depending on the set. Assault Vest Magmortar takes little from Servine even if boosted and can OHKO with Fire Blast. u should mention what fire-types do as a whole instead of just mentioning 2 examples

i really don't think you should talk ab just fire types, especially since it's weak to a lot of mons, so i'd include other types here like flying,ice,poison,etc.

**Faster Pokemon**: Jynx, Archeops, Swanna, and Haunter are all examples of Pokemon that outspeed Servine and threaten it with their super effective coverage.

Updated for the most part except for being specific about Leaf Storm boosts as it's covered in the overview and if someone is trying to use Servine, they'll most likely know what it does (though I do see your point on it) and Steel-types included in Check and Counters because the only ones that actually resist Leaf Storm either aren't super viable like Metang and Wormadam-T, are already covered mainly alolaslash in Ice-types (not mentioned but I can easily add), or don't really beat Servine like Togedemaru which has to rely on flinches to beat it.

updated, tried to explain more in OO but just grouped support moves together saying that Servine prefers recovery and Defog as its support option and choosing something over HP Ice leaves you walled by stuff

lemme know if that's an okay description

[OVERVIEW]

  • Servine's main niche is its access to Contrary Leaf Storm, allowing it to boost its Special Attack while using a strong STAB move. I disagree. It's main niche is being a bulky Defog user that has access to Contrary Leaf Storm. You don't put Servine on a team because "ooh Contrary is cool" you use it b/c for some reason you wanted a Defog user that can threaten pokemon like Palossand and Gastrodon with also a good amount of speed and ability to act as a win condition due to Contrary. You don't have to say all of that (the overview is detailed enough as it is) but make sure the reader gets the point of using Servine
  • Access to reliable recovery in Synthesis helps Servine stay around longer.
  • A wide range of support moves such as Defog and Aromatherapy allows Servine to give a decent amount of help to its teammates if it chooses to. it's mainly just Defog, and it doesn't really have that wide a range of utility moves. You can remove this sentence
  • Being a Grass-type with access to Defog also means that Servine has a fairly good match up against many of the tier's Stealth Rock users being Rock-and Ground-types.
  • A decent Speed tier lets Servine outspeed base 80 Pokemon like Mesprit and Shiftry.
  • Servine's bulk and mediocre defensive typing aren't anything to write home about and as it relies on Eviolite to help it, it is very susceptible to Knock Off. Eh it's bulk is pretty good but you're right about the eviolite reliance and typing
  • A low Special Attack means that Servine won't be doing much damage until it gets a boost. meaning that [insert pokemon] can take it on easily
  • Servine lacks special coverage moves meaning offensive sets are limited to Grass and Hidden Power.
  • Leaf Storm's low PP also limits how much Servine can break through a team.
  • Servine also faces competition as a Defog user from Pokemon like Skuntank and Altaria which either have better typing or utility.
  • It also has its main competition from Lurantis which has the ability to run physical or mixed sets, is stronger and bulkier, and can afford to run different items though Servine's main niche over Lurantis is its Speed.
  • Shiftry also can outclass Servine as it has Defog, a secondary STAB, and priority. don't think this needs its own line b/c Shiftry isn't too used, just lump it in with Skunk and Altaria
when writing up the actual Overview try to make it much less disjointed.

  • Synthesis is a reliable form of recovery which lets Servine stick around longer to use Defog more or get mini-sweeps with Leaf Storm.
  • Hidden Power Ice allows Servine to hit several Pokemon that resist or are immune to Leaf Storm such as Altaria, Drampa, and most Grass-types. also list flying types like Oricorio. Honestly, the main reason is just for Altaria, everything else takes very little from it due to its weak SpA except for Eggy-Alola (you can mention that).

Set Details
========

  • Eviolite boosts Servine's bulk allowing it to take hits better.
  • Max HP and Speed EVs with a Timid nature maximize Servine's Speed, allowing it to outpace Pokemon like Choice Band Passimian, Shiftry, and Mesprit while also increasing its overall bulk. explain why you want its bulk to be high rather than putting it in SpA
  • adding on to that, list SpA EVs in Set Details
  • Contrary is Servine's best ability allowing it to use its main niche in a powerful Leaf Storm more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

  • Servine should be brought in on defensively oriented Pokemon like Clefairy, Ferroseed, and defensive Mesprit.
  • It is generally used more is a support role and shouldn't be solely relied on for an offensive sweep though it can do this in a pinch.
  • Servine should try and keep its HP as high as possible with Synthesis so it has more opportunities to come in and take care of hazards.
  • As a Grass-type, Servine is able to safely switch into a plethora of hazard setters including Regirock, Carracosta, and Palossand where it is able to Defog and also beat most Rock- and Ground-type Pokemon.
  • Leaf Storm can be used to weaken bulkier walls as even as they heal, Servine can continue to do more damage as it boosts its Special Attack.
  • Contrary also allows Servine to be a Defog and Sticky Web deterrent as they give Servine a boost to Evasion and Speed respectively which can be annoying for opposing teams.
list that it can also switch into some offensive pokemon or take hits from them due to its bulk. Be sure to emphasize its role as a Defogger here more than its role as a wallbreaker (which it really isn't too good as)

Team Options
========

Meanwhile, Archeops handles Grass- and Flying types that Servine either gets outsped by or struggles against like Swanna and Roselia.
  • Lanturn is able to take advantage of Servine's ability to check Pokemon like Gastrodon and opposing Lanturn while taking care of Pokemon like Swanna for Servine.
  • As Grass-types like Servine have many weaknesses it should partner with Pokemon that can safely take strong hits from them. Defensive Carracosta and Golem both take Fire-, Flying-, and Poison-type attacks fairly well and appreciate Servine's ability to beat most bulky Water-types.
  • Strong breakers like Stoutland and Passimian can wear down a team to where Servine can clean up late game if a team's faster threats are removed.
  • On the other hand, Servine's bulk also means that it struggles with strong breakers so Pokemon that can take on the aforementioned Pokemon like Weezing and Defensive Mesprit also help Servine.
good!

Other Options
=============

  • Glare can be used as a form of speed control and Aromatherapy can be used for team support though Servine has a hard time picking these over the utility of Defog and Synthesis and choosing a support move over Hidden Power Ice leaves you walled or more threatened by many Pokemon. two separate sentences
  • Hidden Power Fire can be used as a way to beat Ferroseed reword this to immediately beat Ferro, as the normal set can still overwhelm it and other Steel-types though it leaves Servine more open to Dragon-types like Altaria and Drampa. mention Alolan-Sandslash in specific.
  • Alternatively, Hidden Power Rock can be used to still hit Flying-types while also giving Servine the ability to hit Fire-types like Magmortar super-effectively. downside?
  • Knock Off is an option to cripple Pokemon that may otherwise be a nuisance to Servine or its teammates such as Clefairy or Gurdurr.
  • Taunt makes it even easier for Servine to beat most entry hazard setters as it can prevent them from setting up at all.
  • A SubSeed set can be used though it is generally outclassed by other Grass-types like Gourgeist-XL Small does it better and Jumpluff.
  • A specially defensive set with Mirror Coat can be used to take a hit from strong special attackers and fire back with a stronger hit.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types in general are a problem for Servine as they check it and can normally beat it 1v1. In particular, Pyroar outspeeds Servine and is able to heavily damage or OHKO it depending on the set while Assault Vest Magmortar takes little from Servine even if boosted and can OHKO with Fire Blast. i would make it clear that non AV Mag beats it too, just AV tanks it even better

**Ice-types**: Aurorus and Abomasnow in addition to beating Servine with Blizzard also set up Hail which limits how much Servine can recover with Synthesis. Jynx is able to outspeed and OHKO Servine with Ice Beam.

**Flying-types**: Oricorio-G, Swanna, and Archeops are all very viable Flying-types that beat Servine. make it clear that Oricorio can easily switch in While the latter two can't directly switch into a Leaf Storm safely, they can come in and threaten Servine with their STAB moves. say specifically they can OHKO it

**Grass-type Resists or Immunities**: Weezing and Haunter resist Leaf Storm and easily threaten Servine though Weezing has to be careful about taking too much prior damage. Pokemon with Sap Sipper like Miltank and Drampa come in freely on Servine and leave it unable to damage them too much.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Stoutland and Passimian easily threaten Servine due to its mediocre bulk and won't be doing too much against them unless it already has Contrary boosts. mention that Servine outspeeds them though which means it can beat them after boosting in some situations

add Skuntank to Grass Resists or Immunities

[OVERVIEW]

Servine's main niche is being a bulky Defog user that can take on most Stealth Rock users due to its access to Contrary Leaf Storm, allowing it to boost its Special Attack while using a strong STAB move weirdly compounded sentence here with 2 very separate ideas, more of a GP issue but still immediately sticks out, especially given the length of the next sentence. Access to reliable recovery in Synthesis helps Servine stay around longer. Being a Grass-type with access to Defog also means that Servine has a fairly good match up against many of the tier's Stealth Rock users you already said that being Rock-and Ground-types. A decent Speed tier lets Servine outspeed base 80 Pokemon like Mesprit and Shiftry. Servine's bulk is decent, but a mediocre defensive typing isn't anything to write home about and as it relies on Eviolite to help it, it is very susceptible to Knock Off yeah but it's not like servine is commonly taking knock offs. A low Special Attack means that Servine won't be doing much damage until it gets a boost meaning that Pokemon like Assault Vest Hitmonchan can take it on. Servine lacks special coverage moves meaning offensive sets are limited to Grass and Hidden Power which means what? I know that means serp gets checked hard by super common things like skunk and magmortar, but some mons only need 2 coverage moves. Leaf Storm's low PP also limits how much Servine can break through a team. Servine also faces competition as a Defog user from Pokemon like Skuntank, Shiftry, and Altaria which either have better typing or utility. It also has its main competition from Lurantis which has the ability to run physical or mixed sets, is stronger and bulkier, and can afford to run different items though Servine's main niche over Lurantis is its Speed.

all the info here is good but the writing is really just not. read the paragraph out loud if it helps, half the sentences are a single short idea with no explanation and the other half are long compound ones shoving in totally separate ideas. QC wise i dont have much to say but I would recommend working on this and I might give it some edits in upload too because it really doesn't read well at all.

Eviolite boosts Servine's bulk allowing it to take hits better. Max HP and Speed EVs with a Timid nature maximize Servine's Speed, allowing it to outpace Pokemon like Choice Band Passimian, Shiftry, and Mesprit while also increasing its overall bulk to be able to Defog later in a game. The leftover EVs are put into Special Attack to give it a little more power with Leaf Storm. Contrary is Servine's best ability allowing it to use its main niche in a powerful Leaf Storm more effectively.

Usage Tips

Servine should be brought in on defensively oriented Pokemon like Clefairy, Ferroseed, and defensive Mesprit i mean this is gonna be a free uturn on the defog, somth like gastro would make much more sense and Defog away hazards that all three can set up. It can switch into some offensively oriented Pokemon like Lilligant and Kingler as well this point is too obvious to be worth including, at least say something like "it only handles offensive things u have a type advantage vs cuz the bulk isnt good enough otherwise" or something to that effect because otherwise that sentence is worthless. It is generally used more is a support role and shouldn't be solely relied on for an offensive sweep though it can do this in a pinch. Servine should try and keep its HP as high as possible with Synthesis so it has more opportunities to come in and take care of hazards. As a Grass-type, Servine is able to safely switch into a plethora of hazard setters including Regirock, Carracosta, and Palossand where it is able to Defog and also beat most Rock- and Ground-type Pokemon this totally overlaps with the above point, u could at least put "switch in on most SRers" and "switch in on defensive mons" a little closer together considering how they're basically the same thing since all the defensive things you mentioned above are also rockers. Leaf Storm can be used to weaken bulkier walls as even as they heal, Servine can continue to do more damage as it boosts its Special Attack again, this doesn't provide any usable, noteworthy info at all. I'm just not really sure why you've included this sentence since it says nothing of value, if there was a bullet point that was actually useful that got transferred to this then you might want to try writing it up differently. Contrary also allows Servine to be a Defog and Sticky Web deterrent as they give Servine a boost to Evasion and Speed respectively which can be annoying for opposing teams.

i dont see anything about how serv gets pressured by so many offensive mons that ur constantly thinking about doubling out if u dont absolutely have to remove hazards, it's a big part of how this plays

**Strong Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Stoutland and Alolan Raticate easily threaten Servine due to its mediocre bulk, though Servine does outspeed them and can beat them if it already has Contrary boosts.

removed a few mentions of nu pokemon like palo miltank and pass also remember to update this if magmortar gets banned
