Nature: Bold (+1 Def, -1 Atk)
Type: Psychic / Fairy

  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
  • Fairy STAB; -1 EN on non-Fairy Typed Nature, Sound, and Scent moves (Stacks with second STAB where applicable). (Nature Power, Natural Gift; Sound Moves; Aromatherapy, Odor Sleuth, Sweet Scent)
Abilities: Synchronize / Trace / Telepathy (H) / Pixilate (M)
  • Synchronize: (Passive) Pokemon with this ability mentally link their condition to an opposing Pokemon and pass on any status inflicted on them to their foe. Due to their body structure, Poison-Types cannot be poisoned, Fire-Types cannot be burned & Electric-Types cannot be paralyzed in this manner.
  • Trace: (Trigger) When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokemon is sent out. The ability remains on the Pokemon for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.
  • Telepathy: (Passive) This Pokemon has a mental link with its allies in multiple battles, which allows it to avoid taking damage from allied attacks that damage each foe or the entire field like Blizzard and Earthquake. They are still affected by an opponents spread damage attacks.
  • Pixilate (Toggle) By default, this Pokemon's Normal-type moves are Fairy-type moves, and have an additional two (2) BAP boost. When toggled, this Pokemon's Normal-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2). If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

And welcome back everyone to Team Rocket's Sharing is Caring Kinda Tournament featuring pokemon stolen from their proper trainers. How this is legal is beyond my wildest imagination. Team Rocket Grunt Mk II Maxim has stolen Dogfish44's Aromatisse. Not sure if that was the smartest move. He could be in for the shock of his life. Also in his bag of stolen Pokemon is Zarator's Gengar, which I think will be a nightmare for the organization. He stole akela's Rhydon. Wait. You stole my Rhydon? You worthless prick. I guess there is no honor among thieves. The final pokemon he stole is Birkal's Conkeldurr, which I think will prove to everyone he has a glass jaw.

In Flamestrike's bag of ill gotten goodies, we have It's A Random's Steelix. You just couldn't help but dig your own grave, could you flame? Pwnemon's Pyroak, which will not prevent the forest fire Pwnemon starts looking for. Zarator's Kitsunoh, which will cause everyone many restless nights of sleep. And Finally, Gerard's Gardevoir. I don't know what you plan on doing with that Gardevoir, but I don't want to find out.

All that being said, let's get it on!

Tails: Flamestrike

Brandon walked out into the raucous ASB Arena, trying to steady his nerves as he prepared for his match as Flamestrike the Magmortar followed behind him. The last round was just a qualifier, and he made it through with ease thanks to one of his opponents being DQed, but now was the real deal. He knew Maxim well; they had started in ASB just a few months apart, and he knew that this would be no easy battle. However, Brandon hadn't joined this tournament just to be knocked out of round 1; he was going to give it his all in order to grab a win. He still hadn't quite gotten used to playing with other people's Pokemon, but he figured that the odd feeling would pass eventually. Right now, all he could concern himself with was how to win. "Alright, let's start off with a bang! Katherine, I may not be Gerard, but I hope you'll fight as hard for me as you do for him!" The Gardevoir gracefully appeared on the battlefield in a flash of light, and Brandon could immediately tell that she would give her all. "Good, now take your trusty Gardevoirite and let's see what Maxim has in store for us!"

Katherine the Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite

7Wv0cgL.png

Maxim entered the arena to the roaring crowds. He soaked in the cheers, though his heart was heavy. He knew that his luck had taken a turn for the worst recently. Several matches had gone horribly badly for him, particularly his match with Frosty, and it was starting to get him down. His tournament performance wasn't much to look at either, he had gotten to fourth place in the Factory Tournament, but only because everyone ahead of him got disqualified for one reason or another.

It was then that he listened to the cheers. The crowd was cheering both of them on, they wanted a great match. Maxim lifted his head up high, the crowd wanted a match for the ages. As long as he had fun, nothing else mattered at this point. He knew Flamestrike, the two had started almost at the same time, and he was quite the contender. Maxim thought that he'd have been a great gym leader if it weren't for a few hiatuses at exactly the wrong time. Without further ado, his hand reached into his coat pocket, and a Pokeball came out. "Greetings Flamestrike, it has been a while hasn't it? I think it is time that we matched our wits and skills and see who can come out on top! I warn you though, I have no intention of letting you win so easily! Come on out Cyric the Gengar! Oh, and take this Gengarite with you."

He looked on at the opponent, tensing up a little. Gardevoir was going to be a pain in the neck, considering it had greater defenses than Cyric and about as much attack. Still, due to some rather poor planning it was his best shot against the Gardevoir. Taking a deep breath, he issued his orders to the eager Gengar.

If Light Screen then use Taunt that action and push back.
If Encore when you are to use Toxic, then use Sludge Wave that action.
If Gardevoir is not poisoned after Toxic has been used, then alternate all remaining actions with Shadow Ball~Sludge Wave.

"Good luck, and have fun Flamestrike!"

Brandon wasn't at all to see the incredibly powerful Mega Gengar come out to face Gardevoir, but he was confident he could handle the challenge. "Alright, Katherine, let's give'em hell!"

And here we are starting the battle of the stolen pokemon. Both competitors decide to immediately mega evolve their illgotten creatures.

Mega Gengar tries to infect Mega Gardevoir with its toxins, but Mega Gardevoir expected this and protected itself with a barrier of some sort. We need a better descriptors when Barrier exists.

Mega Gengar then hurled the shadows at Mega Gardvoir. Why? Why does a ball of shadow hurt? What makes Mega Gardevoir think it is a good idea to Taunt Mega Gengar after that? Someone is going to be pissed.

And again, Mega Gengar attacks Mega Gardevoir by starting the sports action wave thingy with sludge. That is just wrong. Mega Gardevoir creates another barrier, and this one seems to last longer than its previous.

Brandon mentally kicked himself, realizing that due to his orders Katherine had taken an extra attack it didn't need to take. However, the primary goal was achieved; Gengar was taunted and he had Light Screen up, so even with the HP disadvantage he had himself in a decent position. "Alright Katherine, that could have gone slightly better, but it's time to make up for lost time!"

Pain Split -> Psychic -> Psychic
If he uses Toxic as part of a combo and he is not on cooldown and you did not use Teleport or Protect the previous action use Protect and push actions back, but not two actions consecutively
If he uses Will-O-Wisp as part of a combo and he is not on cooldown and you did not use Teleport or Protect the previous action use Protect and push actions back, but not two actions consecutively
If he uses Brick Break and you have Light Screen up and you did not use Protect the previous action use Teleport (evasive) and push actions back, but not two actions consecutively

Maxim grimaced as he realized he was in a bad situation. Well, no he was in a terrible situation. With Pain Split on the way and no real way to stop it, Maxim breathed deeply and said "Well, this is hardly what I'd call ideal, but let's make the most of this bad situation. I calculate about a 30% chance of beating Gardevoir at this point."

Brick Break~Brick Break~Sludge Bomb

Note, this isn't an Action Lock, so Flamestrike is free to alter his orders if he wants to.

And we get to experience another round of Mega Gardevoir versus Mega Gengar.

Mega Gardevoir senses that Mega Gengar wants to destroy that Light Screen Barrier and get back to using its greatest power as full power. Mega Gengar tried to break that brick barrier of light, but Mega Gardevoir quickly teleported itself and the barrier out of the way.

Unfortunately, Mega Gardevoir could not do that twice in a row, resulting in Mega Gengar breaking the barrier in its second attempt. However, Mega Gardevoir did succeed in evening out their health by splitting its Pain with Mega Gengar (why a Fairy is doing that to a ghost is beyond me.).

The round ends with Mega Gengar hurling a sludge bomb at Mega Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir using its Psychic energies to lay a wopping on Mega Gengar.

Maxim sighed. Of course his plan didn't work, despite a 30% Poison Chance. Despite Rock Slide's 30% chance ALWAYS managing to screw him over. No matter, he would just have to deal with it.

"Well, I don't think you're going to win this time, but you can at least give that Gardevoir a savage beating before getting destroyed."

Sludge Wave~Shadow Ball~Sludge Wave
If Gardevoir is poisoned when you are to use Shadow Ball, then use Venoshock that action.
If Light Screen AND Brick Break is available for use, then use Brick Break and push actions back.
If Light Screen AND Brick Break is not available for use, then use Sludgy Tsunami (Sludge + Sludge Wave) that action, and Venoshock for all remaining actions.

Requesting a reorder if these substitutions are illegal. Thank you.

"This could have gone a bit better, but if my math is right then at worst we get a draw!"

Psyshock -> Psychic -> Psyshock
If you are poisoned A1, or he gets a critical hit on A1, replace actions with Rest -> Pain Split -> Confusion + Psyshock

Another round with Mega Gengar versus Mega Gardevoir.

Mega Gengar starts the round off with a Surflike Sludge Wave. Mega Gardevoir responds with Psyshock.

Then Mega Gengar throws a balls of Shadows (how can your Shadow hurt?). Mega Gardevoir uses its Psychic energy to KO Mega Gengar.

Flavor half dead because ASB needs refs outside of tournaments.

Maxim looked onwards at the scene. His plan didn't work all the way through, but Gardevoir was going to have to order first, and had a pittiance of hp. He smiled and said "All right, Step 1 is mostly complete. On to Step 2, come on out Hyde the Rhydon!"

Endure -> Grass Knot -> Grass Knot

If he uses Whirlpool, use Grass Knot that action
If he uses a protective or evasive move, and you are not using Endure, chill

Maxim thought for a moment, then said "Let's finish this Gardevoir off then move onto the next target."

And out comes my Rhydon. Maxim, if you manage to lose with him, I will kill you in your sleep with a Rhyhorn.

Mega Gardevoir starts off the battle by hoping to endure the assault from the beautiful and magnanimous Rhydon. Rhydon tries to make several clones of itself. Hopefully Maxim knows what he is doing. I'd rather not go to jail for murdering someone that screws up using a Rhydon.

Mega Gardevoir follows suit with a powerful Grass Knot. One of the few real weaknesses of Rhydon. And Mega Gardevoir was able to identify the real Rhydon from its clones. Probably because the real Rhydon was the solid one.

Rhydon returned the favor with an amazing Whirlpool. Why a Rock/Ground type can summon a whirlpool in the middle of a landmass with minimal water in the area is beyond me. But since it is Rhydon, I will not bother questioning the logistics of it. The whirlpool was nearly Charybdis in stupendicity. The residual damage of being flung around by the perfect whirlpool took what little left Gardevoir had out of it.

Maxim looked at the Pyroak. This was a bad situation, Pyroak had a 4x weakness hit on Rhydon and his plan to not get hit by a Grass Knot, of course, failed miserably. There was little he could do but hope to somehow win the damage race.
