PU Shiinotic (mini)

lol -mz

[OVERVIEW]

While Shiinotic has an interesting typing, usable bulk, Strength Sap, and Spore, it is fairly passive, is weak to status, and is very slow. Shiinotic is also outclassed by various other defensive Pokemon with similar typings such as Tangela, Lurantis, Roselia, and Clefairy. Tangela has superior physical bulk, Knock Off, and Regenerator, Lurantis has access to Defog and Contrary, and Roselia can set Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and heal off status with Natural Cure. Clefairy also packs status and entry hazard immunity, as well as Stealth Rock.

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Spore
move 2: Strength Sap
move 3: Moonblast
move 4: Giga Drain
item: Leftovers
ability: Effect Spore
nature: Bold
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Defensive Shiinotic aims to threaten with accurate sleep and outlast most physical attackers with Strength Sap. Those two moves and its typing let Shiinotic have a minimal niche, as it counters threats like Gurdurr and Absol. However, it's quite lackluster outside of that niche and overall does not stand up to its competition like Tangela, Roselia, and Clefairy, who all have better utility options, abilities, and bulk due to access to Eviolite.

While Shiinotic has an interesting typing, usable bulk, Strength Sap, and Spore, it can be passive outside of Spore, is weak to status, and is very slow. Shiinotic is also outclassed by various other defensive Grass-types such as Tangela, Lurantis, and Roselia, and Clefairy (change wording, makes it sound like clef is a grass-type) as a special defensive Fairy-type. Tangela has superior physical bulk, Knock Off, and Regenerator, Lurantis has acess to Defog and Contrary, while Roselia can set Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and heal off status with Natural Cure. Clefairy also packs status and entry hazard immunity, as well as Stealth Rock.
