OU Shuca Berry Tapu Koko

Tapu Koko @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 104 HP / 12 Def / 176 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Ice
- Roost / Defog

By wielding a Shuca Berry, Tapu Koko is able to defeat Ground-types one-on-one, namely Landorus-T and Zygarde, while keeping the freedom of switching moves, unlike Tapu Koko's Choice Specs set. With Volt Switch and Roost, Tapu becomes quite an effective offensive pivot as well, supporting Pokemon that appreciate Electric Terrain such as Shift Gear Magearna, Hawlucha, and Kyurem-B. The EV spread allows Tapu Koko to tank a Choice Band-boosted Thousand Arrows from Zygarde after Stealth Rock, improve its matchup against Hawlucha, and still outspeed Weavile and Greninja. Taunt is also an option for a better matchup against bulkier teams. While Tapu Koko has its fair share of checks and counters, most are bait to Tapu Koko's Volt Switch, which gives potential teammates, such as Mega Medicham, Kartana, Mega Mawile, and Hoopa-U, a free switch and thus the opportunity to exploit Tapu Koko's checks. When using this set, though, watch out for Ground-types that aren't threatened by Hidden Power Ice, such as Gastrodon and Hippowdon.

tagging Leo and sedertz because I'm pretty sure they're the most familiar with this set. If either of you could also share some good replays with Shuca Koko that'd be nice. Otherwise if there are no good replays, we can just do it without replays ig.

By weilding a Shuca Berry, Tapu Koko can better handle Ground-types, such as Landorus-T and Zygarde, with the freedom of swtching moves
You can be more explicit here- “Shuca Berry Tapu Koko can beat Ground-types such as Landorus-T and Zygarde one-on-one while retaining the ability to switch moves.” Winning one-on-one is the whole draw of using shuca koko, so it’s important to emphasize that explicitly for readers

such as Mega Medicham, Hawlucha, and Kyurem-B
remove mmedi because it doesnt run tpunch in the current meta as hitting clefable is uber important, as well as the odd venu. sg mage should be a fine replacement

Tapu Koko may also opt for a slightly different EV spread of 128 HP / 188 SpA / 192 Spe
I wrote the analysis and somehow the spread is already outdated within 4 weeks :psysad: the spread in my post above is the best spread and should just be directly on the set at the top. you can repurpose the line right after this and stick it at the beginning, explaining the spread lets you live +1 thousand arrows from zygarde after stealth rock while outspeeding weavile

Kartana, Mega Mawile, and Hoopa-U
Since you removed mmedi earlier its fine to reinclude here

Spl 9 week 7 tdk vs crashinboom bang.

Shuca berry tapu koko causes problems for cbb because its annoying to pivot around given that zygarde cant ohko it thanks to the shuca berry. Also because it has roost, it can switch in on tornt all day. Ultimately tdk wins in no small part thanks to shuca koko

tag me again when you do this i wanna see what you say about the replay, but good stuff
