Rock
========

With access to Sticky Web and Stealth Rock, Shuckle becomes an amazing utility option for Rock teams. Shuckle's part-Bug typing negates its weakness to Ground, Grass, and Fighting, allowing it to survive attacks from Pokemon like Nidoking, Mega Venusaur, and Hawlucha. Sticky Web slows down faster threats like Choice Scarf Excadrill and Mega Gallade for teammates like Mega Diancie and Terrakion. Shuckle's insane defensive stats give it longevity and the chance to set up both entry hazards. Sturdy guarantees Shuckle gets at least one entry hazard up by allowing it to survive a super effective attack from Pokemon like Keldeo and Kingdra. Shuckle should be utilized on early turns to perform its role due to its lack of recovery stacked with its Stealth Rock weakness. As one would expect, this set isn't meant to do damage whatsoever, as its best form of damage is through its utility, leaving it reliant on teammates to pick up KOs.

[SET]
name: Utility (Rock)

move 3: Encore
move 4: Knock Off / Toxic

[SET COMMENTS]
Sticky Web slows down faster threats like Mega Lopunny, Mega Gallade, and Choice Scarf Heracross, making it easier for teammates like Mega Diancie and Terrakion to pick up KOs. Stealth Rock chips down Flying-types and Levitate Pokemon like Landorus-T and Latias, which are unaffected by Sticky Web, and breaks the Focus Sash of Pokemon like Breloom. Encore is important to prevent Shuckle from being used as setup fodder to Pokemon like Mega Scizor and Mega Gyarados while also opening up opportunities to bring its teammates in safely. Knock Off is a great utility move that cripples defensive Pokemon like Chansey, Porygon2, Tentacruel, and Rotom-W as well as revenge killers like Kyurem-B, Choice Scarf Heracross, and Landorus. Toxic allows Shuckle to cripple bulky Pokemon like Slowbro, Mandibuzz, and Swampert. Mental Herb is needed so Shuckle isn't shut down by stallbreakers like Mew and Gliscor carrying Taunt. 248 HP EVs allow Shuckle to be 5HKOed by Stealth Rock while the rest of the EVs are dumped into Shuckle's Defense to grant it more longevity against physical attackers like Mega Gallade and Garchomp. When using Shuckle, the player should be cautious of carelessly switching Shuckle into Knock Off users like Mew and Gliscor before its entry hazards are up, or else they will use Taunt against it.

All of Shuckle's teammates appreciate its Sticky Web and Stealth Rock support. Terrakion can break through bulky Pokemon like Gliscor and Mega Venusaur after a Swords Dance and get rid of Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Choice Scarf Excadrill under Sticky Web with Close Combat. Mega Diancie excels in the Fighting matchup with Sticky Web up by outspeeding threats like Choice Scarf Terrakion and Mega Gallade. Furthermore, its ability in Magic Bounce allows it to prevent entry hazards that could otherwise wear down Shuckle. Tyranitar can get rid of Psychic- and Ghost-types like Slowbro, Jirachi, and Jellicent and Pursuit trap faster Pokemon like Latios. Additionally, Tyranitar sets sand, which benefits Shuckle's longevity and in return, Shuckle can switch into Fighting-types like Hawlucha and Infernape for Tyranitar. Cradily can absorb Water-type attacks and threaten defensive Water- and Ground-types like Slowbro and Hippowdon with Giga Drain. Mega Aggron can target Steel-types like Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn with Fire Punch and KO Fairy- and Rock-types like Mega Gardevoir, Mega Diancie, and Cradily with Heavy Slam. Thanks to Solid Rock, Rhyperior can eat attacks from physical attackers like Garchomp and Mega Scizor and KO them with Ice Punch and Fire Punch. Omastar can utilize Sticky Web to outspeed Excadrill in sand after a Shell Smash, and it notably excels in the Ground matchup thanks to its Air Balloon and its coverage alongside Hidden Power Grass for Water-immune Pokemon like Gastrodon and Seismitoad.

Shuckle can utilize a Custap Berry alongside its ability in Sturdy to set up a second entry hazard; however, without Mental Herb, Shuckle is more vulnerable to being stopped by Taunt users like Mew and Gliscor.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Breloom**: Breloom can put Shuckle to sleep with Spore, set up Swords Dance, and sweep the entire team with Mach Punch.

**Mega Diancie**: Mega Diancie can easily switch into Shuckle's attacks thanks to Magic Bounce and make its moves useless.

**Stallbreakers**: Once Mental Herb has been used or removed by Knock Off, Shuckle is at risk of being shut down by Taunt users like Cobalion, Mew, and Gliscor.

Overview:
"Shuckle's part Bug typing balances out its Ground and Fighting weakness, allowing it to survive attacks from Pokemon like Nidoking, Hawlucha, and Heracross."
- Add Grass to the list and replace Heracross or Hawlucha with Mega Venusaur or something
- Mention the fact that a lack of reliable recovery and weakness to hazards means that Shuckle often does not play much of a role outside of the first few turns of a game.

Set comments:
- Add breaking Breloom's Focus Sash to the list of Stealth Rock uses
- Add a tip about not playing carelessly with Shuckle's Mental Herb and Sturdy, like switching into Mew's Knock Off for example, before it has set its hazards up.

"Additionally, Cradily with little speed investment and Mega Aggron can outspeed Azumarill which threatens Rock teams."
- This is pretty irrelevant since Azumarill almost never runs 0 speed.

"Rhyperior can pivot into Electric attacks so the team isn't Volt Switch spammed while also beating physical attackers like Garchomp and Mega Scizor with Ice Punch and Fire Punch."
- The first part of this sentence is pretty useless since it has no direct connection to why Rhyperior makes a good teammate to Shuckle specifically.
"Omastar to notably cteam the Ground matchup with Air Balloon by setting up Shell Smash and KOing Pokemon with Hydro Pump and Hidden Power Grass for Water-type immune Pokemon like Gastrodon and Seismitoad."
- Same thing as the previous sentence pretty much. You want to focus on how Omastar appreciates Sticky Web and Stealth Rock support from Shuckle, letting it outspeed Excadrill in sand after a Shell Smash.

C&C:

- Specifically mention Magic Bounce as the reason why Mega Diancie invalidates Shuckle

Really nice work outside of a couple small things, QC 1/2

[overview]
- this is nitpicky but calling knock off on a 5 atk mon and toxic the best forms of damage is weird, just call them utility

[set details]
- in the line about mental herb, specifically mention taunt

[oo]
- final gambit is unnecessary since most of the time it just dies after setting entry hazards and whatever teammate wants to come in does

Good Job, QC 2/2!

Feel free to implement what you like.
[OVERVIEW]
Shuckle's insane defensive stats and bulk give it longevity and the chance to set up both entry hazards. Is it necessary to say both defensive stats and bulk in this sentence? Sturdy guarantees Shuckle gets at least one entry hazard up by allowing it to survive a super effective attack from Pokemon like Keldeo and Magnezone. Even if Magnezone is Choice Specs with maximum investment in Special Attack, Shuckle still survives a Flash Cannon without using Sturdy. Choice Specs Kingdra is the only other good example that comes to mind.
