Hecate (Aurumoth) {♀}
Nature: Quiet (+1 SpA, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)
Type: Bug / Psychic

  • Bug STAB; Adds an additional guaranteed attack on all multi-hit moves (does not include two hit moves) with a total hit cap of five (5).
  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Abilities: Weak Armor / No Guard / Illusion (H)
  • Weak Armor: (Toggle) No default effect. When toggled, the Pokemon loosens its worn defensive armor so that it will break off when an opponent uses a contact attack, reducing the Pokemon's Defense and increasing their Speed by one (1) stage for each hit.
  • No Guard: (Passive) This Pokemon has an immense confidence from perfecting each of its attacks, giving them all perfect accuracy. As a result, it feels it can weather every strike, and will not dodge an attack even if ordered to. Only when an OHKO move is issued by the opponent does sense return, and the Pokemon acts normally. Additionally, even with their extra skill, the power and exhaustion involved in using OHKO moves prevents them from being benefited by No Guard; they will have their normal accuracy.
  • Illusion: (Passive) Whenever you send this Pokemon out, it can feign the appearance of another member on your squad. If this Pokemon is damaged by a direct attack, the Illusion will cease at the end of the round. Direct damage is any attack that does damage to the Pokemon's HP. Attacks that are evaded, blocked via Protect, or damage a Substitute are not considered direct damage. It will retain the typing and moveset of the Pokemon with Illusion. [Usage Note: PM the ref if you are sending out a Pokemon with Illusion with the info on said Pokemon and one of your squad members in a Switch=KO battle. You must use that squad member later in the battle though.]

Good luck to both battlers!

I think I'll follow Texas' advice and start with the dragon that guarantees me the early advantage. Take this Expert Belt little dear, I'm sure you'll put it to good use.

Expert Belt

Togekiss @ Scope Lens

Dazzling Gleam - Shadow Ball - Dazzling Gleam
IF Dragonite uses Bide, replace actions with Light Screen - Thunder Wave - Dazzling Gleam, starting on the action Bide was used.
IF Dragonite uses Thunder Wave, use Magic Coat that action instead and push back.
IF Dragonite is under the effects of a successful P/E move when you would act, use Tailwind the first instance and Nasty Plot the second, pushing back each time.

Now to sit back and see the one way out of the 100 to exploit this that will be the most devastating take place.

Oh sorry, I have this on watch now!
It seems this is a very difficult challenger, which makes it better for us to roll for another one...

Gerard leads off with Dragonite, while P2X7 chooses to use the best Pokemon ever Togekiss. Togekiss immediately starts out with a Dazzling Gleam that actually doesn't do that much because Multiscale is OP. Dragonite then responds with a Thunder Punch that does much more damage, and paralyzes to boot! Hax.

Togekiss continues to attack, this time with Shadow Ball. The attack does next to nothing, and Dragonite just shrugs it off. Whipping up a strong Whirlwind, Dragonite blows Togekiss away! Not really, though Togekiss will be forced out at the end of the round.

In the meantime, Dragonite seizes the speed advantage gained by Togekiss's paralysis, and attacks again with Thunder Punch. Togekiss retaliates with Dazzling Gleam, though due to Multiscale the attacks really aren't that powerful. Togekiss finally gets forced out, and Kecleon pops out to take its place. That's kind of rough for Gerard, as ordering first against Kecleon is maybe one of the worst things ever.

I believe that Togekiss should be at 10% paralysis, as moves with a 10% chance of paralysis inflict 15% paralysis.

Also, I assume that I have to equip before anything else can go on, so:

Kecleon @ Everstone

Pretty hard, though we have a few things we can try

Kecleon brutally stomps Dragonite with a 1-2-3, proving once again why we all fucking hate this thing.

Gerard still hasn't picked what he'll send out for his next Pokemon. Let's see what he'll choose to use...

Action 1:

Kecleon used Counter!
19.5*1.5 = 29.25 damage
-15.75 energy

RNG Roll (Effect) [<=3000 Effect]: 6282/10000 (No)
-7 energy
Kecleon used Icy Wind!
RNG Roll (Crit) [<=625 Crit]: 4773/10000 (No)

I'm not going to lie, this seems pretty difficult. Which is why I've been trying to think on this as long as I can, so...sorry for holding this up?

Shadow Ball (Ghost) - Shadow Claw (Ghost) - Shadow Ball (Ghost)
IF Mr. Mime uses Skill Swap, AND you are not Taunted, use Protect that action, but not consecutively.
IF Mr. Mime uses Encore, Dodge that action instead, but not consecutively.
IF Mr. Mime uses Bide, start the action string Recover - Substitute (15 HP) - Shadow Ball (Ghost), starting on the action Bide is used.

Can Mr. Mime pull this off? It took a lot of damage this round, though it also set up fairly nice. Kecleon is under 50% HP, but it still has plenty of gas left in the tank, and P2X7 has Togekiss waiting in the wings. We'll see what happens next...

Emma, IIRC removing Protean changes the pokemon back to normal, at least that's what I understood and was told on IRC

Quoth Bulbapedia,

"The user's new type remains in effect until changed again, or the user is switched out; negating or replacing the Ability does not change the user back to their original type."

The only potential point of content is that ASB Protean is a toggleable ability (Seriously wtf is that for?), but you consider the Default state of Protean is to change type, and it's the Toggled state that reverts typing, I believe we can ignore that - whilst toggled on, you're effectively treated as having the Protean ability, and therefore fall within the in-game restraints.

FROSTYEDIT: I agree with Dogfish. In-game precedent prevails here, so Kecleon stays as a ghost type.

Then I politely ask for a reorder on my side last round, since all my actions were placed based on that knowledge, which I asked about twice on IRC and was told would return Kecleon back to normal (that's the reason I ordered Psyshock even though I would be weak to Shadow Ball, with Kecleon a Normal Type Shadow Ball would do less damage if SE). Sorry for the re-reffing but this is a new ruling that wasn't previously available.

Alright, if you can't do it the first time just keep on trying!
