Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

Who needs to inherit anything in inheritance when you got an insanely strong Magikarp???

^ Click the Magikarp to view the replay!
I'm aware of that joke and I love it rofl, I've actually trolled to much noobs with it with the following set:

Magikarp @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Wonder Guard
Level: 9999
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Magikarp's Revenge
- Rest
- Substitute
- Sheer Cold
- Frustration
- filler

Started laddering Monotype, so I have a few silly low level replays:
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-289562121

-Goldeen on mono-water
-THUNDER Mega-Gyarados
-Shadow ball Suicune
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-289564767

-Hypnosis Mega-Gardevoir...
-...which misses three times in a row

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-289565900

-"Guest 495922 forfeited by changing their name."

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-289629614

-Confuse ray Spiritomb, Trevenant, and Sableye
-First few turns are confuse ray/switching shenanigans
-Hypnosis Gengar holding Zoom Lens

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-289636814

-Swampert using Power-Up Punch... against a Venusaur
-Assault Vest Blastoise

RIP PU going in here. At least we still have AG.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289783593
And right on schedule. We have a Whimsicott that apparently doesn't realize Leech Seed and Stun Spore can't be stacked, and Confuse Ray (because Swagger is too cheap) Hail Froslass, which I'm assuming had Snow Cloak and/or Blizzard.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289788442
Ominous Wind Skymin is a new one. Alas, it fails to flinch Cloyster with a later Air Slash. Cloyster uses Shell Smash, and you can probably figure out what happens next.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-289788668
Lone Gastly and Charizard-X (with Oblivion Wing) vs. lone level 1 FEAR Bidoof. Gastly wins, but only because Endeavor is a Normal type move.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289786591
The Froslass above was, in fact, Snow Cloak. But the team loses to a 6 Ditto squad, none of which appeared to have the Choice Scarf.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289786191
Not the same Ditto guy, but at least three or four of them had Quick Claw, and one of those had Limber.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289784340
A team of only Tyrantrum and Barrier+Calm Mind+Avalanche+Protect Aurorus.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-289786914
Wing Attack Dragonite vs. Bug team with at least 4 and probably 5 Focus Sashes, with Kricketune actually managing to kill said Dragonite.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289785992
Mono Rotom team vs. Shadow Ball Zoroark (got burned while disguised as a Rapidash, which would probably make that Rotom-S a spy-checking Pyro), Earthquake Mew (let me remind you this is mono Rotom), and Moonblast+Hyper Voice Sylveon, which at least had Pixilate.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289786013
Mono Greninja, two with Torrent, against the new meta, WP Jirachi.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289784575
I don't even. The nadir of this one is probably turn 7.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/inheritance-289797095
I don't know if left figured out that right's "Bisharp" was actually Illusion Gengar, but he definitely did not catch the Air Balloon. Also starring PerishTrap Latias.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289796700
TPP team learns the hard way that if you have a 4x Fighting resist on your team, you should probably use it before Moxie Heracross snowballs out of control.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-289785308
Protean and Judgment mechanics create silliness as seen on turn 25, among others.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289784575
I don't even. The nadir of this one is probably turn 7.
You don't even? Fortunately, I do, in fact, even.

I'll preface this by inviting y'all to take a look at the AG usage stats. Note that I've linked to 1760, aka the point one might expect players to start getting gud. Note the variety of moves and items that see sufficient usage to register their own line. Now, eye of the beholder on what's creatively adapting to the meta versus what's silly, but the numbers are...interesting, to say the least. Again, at 1760.

Now:
(L) Dragon Pulse/Eruption/Swagger Primal Groudon nicknamed "Kyoger". DP was used on the obvious Azumarill switchin (though it did wise up the second time).
(L) Rain Dance Mega Blastoise with Surf. What is Water Pulse (or Scald or Hydro Pump)?
(R) I think righty isn't even human. First Sheddy stays in on Blastoise--does Dark Pulse mean anything to you?--as Blastoise overpredicts and Surfs. Then, still not afraid, Sheddy X-Scissors--and catches the Absol coming in to absorb the Shadow Sneak.
(B) Turn seven, in its entirety:
Turn 7
The opposing Azumarill used Aqua Jet!
The Water-type attack evaporated in the harsh sunlight!
Kyoger used Dragon Pulse!
It doesn't affect the opposing Azumarill...
(R) Chomp comes in to set rocks for the first and last time. Against PDon that has shown Dragon Pulse. Okay then.
(R) Sheddy stays in on PDon--perhaps desperate to make an Eruption switchin easier, but it can't really do much in that respect.
(B) This Shedinja is fearless. And somehow lefty cannot figure out that it's not switching.
(L) Thunder Gengar. Now I've seen it all.
(L) I think Unnerve Mewtwo counts, since Pressure has a pretty universal use, even if you are planning to mega. The Mewtwo is RestTalk/Energy Ball. Oh, and Sheddy ought to be getting out of dodge here, lest it take a Shadow Ball. Guess what it does?
(L) Yet Another Moonblast Sylveon. Which Protects while burned. And it has Hyper Beam.
(L) Mewtwo fails to count sleep turns.
(L) Turn 7 was not the nadir. The end is hilarious:
Turn 35
The opposing Shedinja used Shadow Sneak!
It's super effective! R.I.P. Arceus lost 20.2% of its health!
R.I.P. Arceus fainted!
Go! Kyoger (Groudon-Primal)!
Pointed stones dug into Kyoger!
Kyoger fainted!
Go! Panzer (Blastoise-Mega)!
Pointed stones dug into Panzer!
Panzer fainted!
humunculusII won the battle!

bp scrub

rub a dub dub one scrub in a tub
not really something silly i saw, but it was kinda funny losing like this
probably should have checked how much pp was left and sucker punched or something lol

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289963875
Left:
  • Muk.
  • Brick Break / Blaze Kick Blaziken, which almost swept its opponent.
Right:
  • Hydro Pump + Blizzard Primal Kyogre. Origin Pulse and Ice Beam are better choices.
  • Double-Edge + Blizzard Mega Rayquaza.
  • Non-Mega Charizard finally comes in to revenge kill Blaziken after losing Mew and Celebi, uses EQ (which is blocked by Protect) and then... uses Flare Blitz. Blaziken survives with 5% HP remaining, allowing it to finish off Charizard with Brick Break.
  • Loses due to inactivity despite having a realtively healthy Primal Groudon (with Eruption) which could have beaten both Muk and Scizor with its STAB moves. I'd bet on IRL issues.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-289965479
Left:
  • Icy Wind Skarmory, used on Azumarill (which is already quite slow).
Right:
  • Aqua Ring / Charm / Belly Drum / Play Rough Leftovers Azumarill.
  • Flame Charge + Dynamic Punch Mega Charizard X. In a meta where Evasion is everywhere, that isn't a good choice.
  • Leech Seed / Solar Beam (used without sun support) / Grassy Terrain Torterra.
  • Ampharos using Thunder on Gliscor while the latter wasn't willing to leave the field. It also had Magnet Rise, but it's not known for its Speed.
  • Excadrill with the move Sandstorm.

InfernapeTropius11

get on my level
Turn 1

Abomasnow used Earthquake!
Lapras lost 16.6% of its health!
Pyroar protected itself!
It's super effective! The opposing Probopass lost 51.0% of its health!

Turn 3

Abomasnow used Earthquake!
Lapras lost 11.5% of its health!
It's super effective! The opposing Probopass ate its Shuca Berry!
The opposing Probopass lost 25.5% of its health!

Wait what.
Pyroar had Unnerve during Turn 1, then it died so Probopass could eat it on Turn 3.

Hoo boy...
Left:
Normal Charizard with Overheat and Counter.
Me First Mewtwo managing to score a flinch on Yveltal with its own Dark Pulse.
Poison Jab+Guillotine Bisharp, using Guillotine on Munchlax when any other attack would have killed it.
Yanmega with Solar Beam and no Power Herb or sun, outspeeding Mewtwo without any boosts.
Beartic using Focus Punch without a Substitute.
Vigoroth, which was not sent out.

Right:
Fly+Hammer Arm+Extrasensory Landorus-T using Earthquake on Charizard.
Aqua Tail Aurorus.
Dark Pulse+Foul Play Yveltal.
Munchlax ever, using Gunk Shot on Bisharp.
Mewtwo (which turned out to be MMY) using Shadow Ball on Bisharp, before getting smart and changing to Focus Blast. It later took 2 turns to Mega Evolve after being put to sleep by Yanmega's Hypnosis.

Both:
Turn 22.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-290798809
Giga Impact Reshiram and normal Rayquaza, plus Kyurem-White thinking it could break through Dragon Pulse Lugia with Focus Blast.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-290794135
I thought the first replay was bad. This one is worse. Right looks like he is going to sweep with Breloom. Then he withdraws it. And then he chokes. Hard.

I swear, AG is just a goldmine of stupidity!
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-291432202
forefit at preview, but it looked promising

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-291432293
PuP+agility+eq weakness policy D-nite getting way too greedy, scoli bping iron defense to critdra, only to be critted, and more

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-291432481
seriously, who thinks of these teams? also, coil mega blaze

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-291432497
Last but not least, fly mega zard Y.

Mixed Arceus-Steel, and a funny moment on turn 33.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-292595989
4 OHKO spammers, a use of Origin Pulse under Desolate Land, Giga Impact Kyogre-P, and Magikarp, with an Air Balloon, of all things.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-292596198
Two non-mega Charizards (the one on the right may have had it, but didn't use it), an OU team, another Magikarp, Sucker Punch+Discharge Rotom, and Seedot.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-292596163
Well, that's one way to spinblock (turn 7). Also, Dark Pulse Bisharp, and left switching way too much with all those hazards up.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-292594214
A bunch of weird stuff here, but my favorites are the Quick Claw Electivire and the mixed Poison Touch Seismitoad.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/origin-anythinggoes-44444
This one just boggles my mind. Right seems to have no idea what type matchups are.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-292595117
Pro tip: you can't stack more than 3 Stockpiles at once. Pro tip #2: Stockpile is ass.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-292601341
5 Ditto plus bad Groudon-P team, Shadow Ball Mega Houndoom, and use of any Fire move on Heatran.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-292601418
★Vin GT Rising: do you not understand how trick works?
Apparently, left does not. Allowing right's Mega Latias to set up to +6 and sweep. Also, physical Empoleon.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-292602665
Okay, so Leech Seed didn't work on that Goodra? Better try Leaf Storm.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/2v2doubles-292602517
Memento in 2v2 Doubles. That is all. Not quite as bad as in 1v1, but still.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-292601328
Multiple type chart fails, Flamethrower Charizard-X, Low Kick Deoxys-D, Torrent Greninja, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-292601816
Thisnameisused's team: Weedle / Caterpie / Metapod / Kakuna / Luvdisc / Pikachu-Cosplay
★Thisnameisused: Ready to lose?
