Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

this reminds me of those people who invest in defenses on Shedinja even though it literally achieves nothing
To be fair, what else are you going to use your remaining EVs for especially since several ones require 0 speed EVs and I like investing fully even if it means nothing.

It should be noted that Shedinja sucks in MaM if for no other reason than Mold Breaker users are commonplace.

5 LC mons and a Shuckle on one side, and a Tirtouga sweep precipitated by this:
Turn 25
The opposing Tirtouga used Aqua Jet!
Gallade lost 54% of its health!
Gallade used Shadow Sneak!
The opposing Tirtouga avoided the attack!

Obligatory shitmons. Also, Clamperl does not outspeed much even at +2.

What, are you scared of bones?

Lone Cosmic Power Arceus-Ghost defeats a guy who cannot even Pokemon.

Left fails to live up to his name, as only 3 of his mons can learn Explosion. He did manage to pull off Final Gambit Accelgor, albeit as the last mon left on his team.

An ordinary Mewtronome battle, until turns 15 and 16 happen. And then turn 22. And then 32. This one needs to be seen to be believed.

Pinsir spam vs. Nidoking spam.

Aqua Jet Clawitzer is bad enough, but using it on Primal Groudon twice in a row... I got nothing.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-439078921
Yeah, I got nothing for this one, too.

Another person who can't even Pokemon, never mind BH.

Someone else take this one. I don't have the words to describe the stupidity.

I saw team preview and almost died.

(R) Pikachu is his 3rd best Pokemon. The others? Dragonite (Good), Krookodile (Good), Pansage (NO), Axew (High Attack, but NO), Oshawott (NONONONO). Also, NFEs can't Mega, so RIP.
(R) Oshawott puts up a futile effort against Ampharosite Heatran, dealing 8% with Aqua Jet before letting it get up rocks and then getting OHKOed
(R) Ampharosite Heatran outspeeds and OHKOs Mega Stone-less Dragonite... WHY
(R) Sends in Axew before Krookodile
(R) Sends in Pansage on a Fire/Dragon-type
(R) Sends in Pikachu before Krookodile
(R) Uses Discharge on a Dragon-type
(R) Slow Dragon Claw Krookodile

To be fair Dragonite has been barred from holding Mega Stones in MaM, which makes it pretty much worthless. Krookodile is decent with Lucarionite, but honestly Mamoswine is better in most cases. I was running max speed Heatran as it's an offensive Stealth Rock setter - it also lets it outrun uninvested Primal Groudon and 2HKO with Earth Power on the switch.

I also like that triples team. It's a good format for innovation...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-440156730
This seems normal at first, but it takes a predictable nosedive that is reminiscent of low ladder.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-440181464
Left doesn't fully understand the meta, but at least has... Blue Orb Greninja. Played horribly, of course.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-440191999
Just another stupid Smeargle situation.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-440197134
This is just absurd.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-440197074
This as well. Copious amounts of BM laden the end of this one, too.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-440199964
This one is just silly all around. I want somebody to cover this one.

(R) Frisks the Snorlax's Custap Berry, but doesn't figure out L's strategy immediately as a result of that.
(L) Trying to Fake Out the obvious Mega Gallade.
(R) Hydro Cannon non-Protean Greninja. (I guess the idea is to get reduced to 1 HP and then nuke something with Torrent-boosted Hydro Cannon. Of course, this is a terrible idea as a lead because Fake Out exists.)
(R) Mega Gallade has Psychic, and uses it on Snorlax.
(L) Sending out Chandelure first when one of their team goes down instead of sending out Gardevoir for a free Calm Mind. Though it works out in this case thanks to R's Greninja having Focus Sash. (But that wouldn't have mattered if they'd used Fake Out on the Greninja instead of the Mega Gallade.)
(R) Level 50 Salamence
(R) Sun & Moon isn't out yet. Stop using Raichu.
(L)'s team isn't original at all. I recognize it from elsewhere.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-439436710 Just messing around with a fun (but surprisingly effective) RNG team, and I go up against this:
The opposing Staraptor floats in the air with its Air Balloon!
Never again.
Just the other day, I was playing hackmons cup and I got a Rotom-fan with an air balloon for a triple redundancy!
Wish I had saved that replay!
Edit: only a double redundancy since it didn't have levitate.

...MY GOD.
I know I already posted matches, but these two are some of the worst this thread's ever seen. And I don't know which one's worse.

Also... that Porygon Z should have fallen to the Primal Groudon. Why your foe failed to realize that Porygon needs to stay off the field, I have no idea...
1st battle:
>Gyaradosite Vaporeon
Ooh, we might be on to something.
>The opposing Vaporeon used Water Gun!
UM WUT./Oh. Never mind.

2nd battle: Right would've won if he used Roost again after getting the Flame Body burn. Instead he tries to Fire Blast.
Left has mixed Ferrothorn (Giga Drain/Shadow Claw, what a relevant coverage move) with a Life Orb, Volcanion using Earthquake on a set-up Clefable instead of Sludge Wave/Steam Eruption, Glaceon with Ice Beam and Last Resort as the only two known moves, but clearly had other moves because Last Resort didn't work (and he kept spamming it even though he hadn't used all his other moves). And why you'd bother switching out to Glaceon on a set-up Clefable if you don't have Frost Breath, I have no idea.
Left's Pikachu doesn't seem to have a Light Ball, and doesn't use Volt Tackle on Right's Mega Gyarados.
Left's Togekiss has Fairy Wind.
Right's Clefable has Cosmic Power, Work Up, Softboiled, and Stored Power.

Right has a 4-mon team.
Neither team is using non-standard Megas, and Left's team doesn't have any Megas at all.

Don't forget about that Ember Charizard X and Mega Drain Vileplume. That's just as bad.

I sometimes think that posting all these battles might upset the battlers themselves, but the enjoyment that this place gives so many other people is worth it. And it gives us a glimpse into the lives of less skilled (or sometimes very skilled) battlers.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-440412475
This battle starts with Rayquaza flinging a flame orb. It remains at this quality for the rest of the battle, too.

A Baton Pass chain gets broken.... by Hippowdon and Breloom?

This is why you never use FEAR Aron against a Metagross.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-440633998
Oh boy. Both sides don't know that #DarkisnotGhost, among many other issues.

And now, some random Hackmons Cup shenanigans.

MEGA ALAKAZAM. ...Too bad it only knows physical moves.

Liquid Ooze saves a game that would have surely been lost.

Well, I'll give it this; it's the first time I've ever seen a Mold Breaker Hawlucha.

I sometimes think that posting all these battles might upset the battlers themselves, but the enjoyment that this place gives so many other people is worth it.
I see it a little differently; I think this thread can give those battlers an opportunity to improve themselves. They'll think, "Okay, I guess I should stop using Mega Drain on Vileplume, and instead use Giga Drain which is objectively better."

Oh boy. Both sides don't know that #DarkisnotGhost, among many other issues.
#DarkIsNotGhost doesn't even scratch the shit-covered surface of this one.
(R) Air Slash+Confuse Ray+Cross Poison Crobat.
(L) Possibly a fully special Tyranitar. Now, Tyranitar does have a usable Special Attack stat and a very large movepool, but still.
(R) MMX doing nothing but spamming Aura Sphere.
(R) Flame Burst+Dragon Rage+unknown Hidden Power (neutral on Zard-X) non-mega Charizard. Arceus help us all if that set gets loose.
(L) Appears to have an unhealthy obsession with Blizzard, as Tyranitar, Snorlax, and Mamoswine all have it.
(R) Metronome Clefable calls Attract. It works. Doesn't help it, though.
(R) The Aura Sphere MMX uses it on Aegislash.
(R) Torrent Greninja.
(L) Drill Peck Zapdos. What is this, RBY/GSC/ADV?
