Welcome! Here is the place to showcase some of the weird and wacky things you've seen while on the UU Ladder! Whether it's a Specs Aggron, Scarfed Rhyperior or whatever else someone has managed to think up of, please post the battle replay of it here! Before you post your replay, please read these rules:
  • This is meant to be fun, but please do not make fun of or bully a certain person just because they have used something you don't agree on
  • Movesets, Pokemon, Items and Levels are all accepted. Think about it before you post, however. An Azelf running Leftovers, for example, probably doesn't belong here
  • Just because someone is running something that isn't necessarily the standard doesn't mean it's weird - in fact it could be pretty viable
  • Don't just post a replay, try and elaborate what is happening, and saying what turned it happened on is helpful too. You don't even have to post a replay, you can post what you saw, but elaborate on it a bit, don't just say "I saw Scarf Rhyperior"
  • Don't simply go on an alt and troll the bottom of the ladder, that isn't what this thread is for. Only post things that you've legitimately seen on the ladder

I don't think I can be the only one who finds this kind of thread to be neither entertaining or instructive... Bad or new players make weird plays and use shitty mons, how extraordinary .-.

Despite the reservations in the OP, it also invariably derails into pc++ for users claiming to be "trolling the lower ladders" while also being pretty bad themselves ("top kek today i ran into some nub with a Jynx #lynchmob"). I'm sorry if I'm britta-ing but god I was glad UU remained like the only subforum without this thread

This wasn't my idea, as I said in the OP, I took it from TRC. This is a place for people to showcase weird things they've found on the ladder, so that we can all have a bit of a laugh, and it was my fault for not adding that part about people trolling the bottom of the ladder.
 
I've been hoping this subforum would get one of these! I wonder if we will be able to find enough stuff to fill out this thread though. UU is comparatively small compared Ubers and OU.

Like some of the other posters here, I don't like the Silliy Things threads on other forums, mostly because of the fact that it just becomes people making fun of newer players who just have no idea what they're doing. So I'm gonna post the kind of thing that I actually do like to see in those threads, a guy who couldn't stop talking trash even though he was losing, some guy posted this replay in the UU room and it just killed me.

Eh, I felt that it was so obvious that his team sucked that it didn't need mentioning. It would be bad if I said that I don't like people using these threads to rip on new players for having bad teams, and then rip on a guy for having a bad team. I think his awful trash talk was enough to earn him a spot here.

(for those of you who haven't seen me do this in the OU version of this thread, I go into the replays and dig up stupid stuff)
-Glalie, Vespiquen, and Delcatty on a team. The Delcatty had Attract.

-Someone trying what appeared to be a UU version of the full BP team being suspected in OU right now (Combusken, Mew, Smeargle, Xatu, Vaporeon, and Umbreon), only to forfeit after Mew fainted to a critical Crunch from Scrafty.
-Another battle featuring said team revealed that its Xatu did not have Magic Bounce. And he forfeited a second time after being tricked an Assault Vest.
-Camerupt.
 
Can we please make sure people follow the rules this time? The OU version of this thread is full of replay links with no explanation except for random "wat" and facepalm pictures (michaeloche is pretty much the only one whose posts follow the rules).

Since people find pointing out other folks bad ideas offensive I'll mock myself instead. I tried to run a Critdra version of Beedrill to test something different.

Aha, I've actually tried something similar in RU and have recently made like a half BP team in UU, featuring Harden Ninjask as an Iron Defence Scolipede replacement xD actually works alright, and speed is always guaranteed if I can't manage to get the Harden boosts.

I really liked the ubers version of this (silly things you have seen on the ubers ladder that just happened to screw you over) as it more constructive (i guess) and less dispersive in general.
Kinda like the thing brobat does on youtube

One thing which can be done with this thread though is teach people the viability of certain niche mons or how some sets can actually function. I mean there are plenty of accounts where in threads such as these someone says "this guy used this lol" and then someone replies saying that it actually is a viable option somehow. If it is actually alright and someone else can see potential in it we can learn from it of new strategies etc. And if it really is just a shit set we can have a laugh. So these threads can have a purpose.
One thing which I might want to change about the thread is perhaps from "silly" to "weird" or "strange", as silly has a heavier connotation of rubbish when weird or strange have more of a neutral feel about them. So we can say something where we have gone "why the hell would you use this?" and if someone has an actually legit reason why to use it they can reply in this thread, and perhaps the set wasn't that bad in the first place and we learn from it. Or we have a laugh, because honestly there are a bunch of people who don't know what they are doing.

Which leads me to the actual reason why I came here. I saw someone run Choice Scarf Escavalier xD 20 Base speed isn't even worth trying to save and is possibly one of the worst items on him (heck, I'd rather use a Specs set on him). That was funny though :')
