OVERVIEW]
Thanks to its good defenses, powerful Draco Meteor, and access to U-turn, Silvally-Dragon is a potent pivot for bulky offensive and hyper offensive teams. Silvally-Dragon can circumvent the few Fairy- and Steel-types in the tier such as Mr. Mime and Bronzor with U-turn and Flamethrower, respectively. Because of the low number of Dragon-types in ZU, Silvally-Dragon doesn't face a lot of competition as an offensive Dragon-type. Silvally-Dragon's resistances to common types in ZU in Water, Grass, Electric, and Fire let it switch into a lot of common Pokemon such as Mareanie, Tangela, Electivire, and Rapidash. Silvally-Dragon can threaten certain entry hazard setters, such as Golem and Mawile, which makes it a great hazard remover. However, it faces competition from other Silvally formes, such as Water, Fighting, and Ghost, for a team slot because, unlike them, Silvally-Dragon lacks the ability to switch into offensive threats such as Floatzel, Shiftry, and Komala reliably. Moreover, they have access to more reliable STAB moves. It is also difficult for Silvally-Dragon to effectively break Bronzor and Probopass, two common hazard setters, because they resist Silvally-Dragon's STAB move and avoid the 2HKO from Flamethrower. Despite being a strong nuke, Draco Meteor isn't spammable due to the Special Attack drop, which forces Silvally-Dragon to switch out and can offer setup opportunities to the opponent. Silvally-Dragon is usually sent on the field to soft check foes, and this, coupled with the total absence of recovery, makes it easy to wear down.

Moves
========
Draco Meteor is a powerful STAB move and is only resisted by few Pokemon in ZU. This move can remove a lot of foes after chip damage, such as Electivire, Shiftry, and Swanna. Flamethrower is Silvally-Dragon's best coverage move. Indeed, the Dragon and Fire combination hits the entire tier outside of Carbink for at least neutral damage. It also allows Silvally-Dragon to hit Steel-types, such as Mawile and Pawniard, for super effective damage. Silvally-Dragon can pivot through U-turn. It allows for scouting an opposing switch and chips the opposing team. It can also threaten Pokemon weak to Bug, such as Shiftry and Grumpig. Silvally-Dragon can instead run Parting Shot, which swaps the chip damage for lowering foe's offenses, which lets the next Pokemon take less damage as it switches in. However, it's easily blocked and punished by Soundproof, Clear Body, and Defiant users, such as Mr. Mime, Regice, and Pawniard.
Set Details
========
A positive Speed nature allows Silvally-Dragon to Speed tie with other base 95 Speed Pokemon such as other offensive Silvally formes, Electivire, and Leafeon. Moreover, it allows Silvally-Dragon to outspeed dangerous wallbreakers such as Monferno, Oricorio-F, and Servine and threaten them back.
Usage Tips
========
Switch only into resisted moves, such as Electivire's Wild Charge and Leafeon's Leaf Blade, or weak moves, such as Mawile's Knock Off. Silvally-Dragon can also be brought into the field by slow pivots such as Komala and Probopass. If Silvally-Dragon checks are weaken or removed, use Draco Meteor to deal huge amounts of damage to the opposing team. Silvally-Dragon shouldn't be directly switched into entry hazard setters to use Defog. It should instead use Defog on forced switches, which are not hard to pull off due to Draco Meteor's raw power. Silvally-Dragon's Flamethrower isn't powerful and should only be used against Pokemon that are weak to Fire such as Bronzor, Mawile, Pawniard, and Abomasnow. You should also keep in mind that a super effective Flamethrower is weaker than a neutral STAB Draco Meteor. If you predict your opponent to switch out into a check to Silvally-Dragon, you can pivot with either U-turn or Parting Shot to maintain momentum or use Defog to remove entry hazards on your side. Using Draco Meteor lowers Silvally-Dragon's Special Attack by two stages, decreasing Silvally-Dragon's offensive capacities a lot and forcing it out. A weakened Silvally-Dragon is setup fodder for a lot of threatening sweepers, such as Shell Smash Crustle and Z-Me First Pinsir. Therefore, don't use Draco Meteor if your opponent can then send a setup sweeper that has the potential to clean your team. Because of this, Flamethrower is a safe neutral play to remove a weakened foe or hit a foe that avoids the OHKO from Draco Meteor and falls to two Flamethrowers such as Gourgeist-XL.
Team Options
========
Pokemon that are weak to entry hazards such as Rapidash and Pinsir appreciate Silvally-Dragon's Defog support. Silvally-Dragon's U-turn or Parting Shot allows strong but slow wallbreakers such as Komala and Shiftry to come safely on the field. They can also take advantage of the special walls that Silvally-Dragon brings onto the field. Silvally-Dragon performs well with other VoltTurn users such as Komala and Electivire, forming a VoltTurn core. Silvally-Dragon struggling against bulky Steel-types makes Magnet Pull users such as Alolan Golem and Probopass very potent partners, as Silvally-Dragon can just pivot as a Steel-type switches in and bring in the Magnet Pull user to remove the bulky Steel-type. Pokemon that are weak to Fire-, Grass-, and Electric-types such as Leafeon, Floatzel, and Oricorio-F appreciate Silvally-Dragon's resistances and ability to come into moves of said types. Teammates that resist Ice, such as bulky Monferno and Mareanie, are appreciated for their ability to switch into Pokemon that carry strong Ice moves such as Choice Scarf Abomasnow.

Other Options
=============
Silvally-Dragon can run a Swords Dance set thanks to its wide physical movepool including a STAB move in Multi-Attack, coverage for Fairy-types in Iron Head, which is Silvally-Dragon's only way to pressure Carbink, and coverage for Steel-types in Flame Charge, which also boosts Silvally-Dragon's Speed, increasing its cleaning capacities. At +1 Speed, Silvally-Dragon Speed ties with Choice Scarf Electivire, Sawsbuck, and Silvally and outspeeds Floatzel, Choice Scarf Abomasnow, Chatot, and Mr Mime. However, it faces a lot of competition from other physical Dragon-types such as Fraxure and Hakamo-o, as they have access to a superior setup move in Dragon Dance. Also, the former has far more raw power, while the latter has a better secondary typing and the bulk to use Dragon Dance several times. Also, physical sets struggle even more against Steel-types due to having a weaker Fire-type coverage, making them even easier to punish than sets with Draco Meteor. These sets also have to forgo Silvally-Dragon's utility in entry hazard removal. Silvally-Dragon can run a bulkier EV spread to better take on offensive threats such as Floatzel and Combusken; however, this hinders its offense capacities and is not worth it most of the time. If you already have hazard removal or don't need it, you can run a non-Defog Silvally-Dragon with Flash Cannon to deal with Fairy-types such as Granbull and Mr. Mime or Explosion to weaken specially bulky Pokemon such as Komala and Kecleon. However, these moves are pretty niche compared to the utility Defog brings.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types, such as Mr. Mime and Granbull, are immune to Silvally-Dragon's STAB Draco Meteor and don't take much damage from Flamethrower. Furthermore they can retaliate with their super effective STAB moves.
**Ice-type Moves**: A lot of Pokemon such as Abomasnow, Floatzel, and Electivire carry an Ice-type move, which can significantly damage Silvally-Dragon or even OHKO it in the case of Choice Scarf Abomasnow's Blizzard.
**Specially Bulky Pokemon**: Due to its average Special Attack, specially bulky Pokemon such as Kecleon, Muk, and Lickilicky take little damage from Silvally-Dragon's moves. Moreover, Lickilicky can cripple it with Toxic, whereas Muk and Komala can use it as setup fodder.
**Bulky Steel-types**: Silvally-Dragon struggles to break through bulky Steel-types such as Bronzor and Probopass, which resist Silvally-Dragon's STAB attacks. They can set entry hazards, use Toxic, or, in the case of Probopass, pivot with a slow Volt Switch. However, if there is a Magnet Pull user on Silvally-Dragon's team such as Alolan Golem or Probopass, they have to worry about Silvally-Dragon pivoting into it.
**Chip Damage**: Silvally-Dragon's lack of recovery and tendency to switch several times through the game make it easily worn down by chip damage such as from hazards, hail, and VoltTurn and limit Silvally-Dragon's soft checking capacities.
