[OVERVIEW]

Silvally-Water is a Defogger that provides offensive and balanced teams with excellent role compression by being able to check Pokemon like Kabutops, Qwilfish, and Combusken and threaten Stealth Rock users such as Regirock and Mudsdale due to its great bulk and excellent defensive typing. With access to Parting Shot, Silvally-Water is also able to generate momentum better than almost any other entry hazard remover in the metagame. On the downside, Silvally-Water's overall effectiveness is limited by its weaknesses to other common type in Grass and Electric as well as its lack of reliable recovery, meaning it can be worn down quickly and struggle to consistently check Pokemon. Furthermore, Silvally-Water faces competition as a hazard remover from Altaria, which is immune to Spikes and has reliable recovery.

Moves
========

Defog allows Silvally-Water and its teammates as well as more freedom to pivot around foes without worry of being worn down by entry hazards too quickly. Surf is Silvally-Water's primary attacking move, dealing super effective damage to Pokemon like Alolan Dugtrio and solid damage to top-tier threats such as Mesprit and Skuntank. Thunderbolt offers good coverage alongside Surf, allowing Silvally-Water to hit opposing Water-types such as Qwilfish and Swanna super effectively. Hitting Qwilfish super effectively is noteworthy because it's a hazard setter that can otherwise shut down Silvally-Water with Taunt. Ice Beam is a secondary option that can be used to hit Dragon- and Grass-types that otherwise wall Silvally-Water such as Altaria and Alolan Exeggutor. Parting Shot generates momentum while also lowering the target's offensive stats, allowing a teammate such as Aggron to come onto the field more safely.

Set Details
========

136 Speed EVs allow Silvally-Water to outspeed neutral-natured base 80 Speed Pokemon such as Shiftry, Stoutland, and Mesprit and pivot out of them with Parting Shot.

Usage Tips
========

Silvally-Water can use its Water typing and great bulk to continuously pivot in and check or counter threatening physical attackers like Alolan Sandslash, Alolan Dugtrio, and Kabutops. On the turn Silvally-Water forces out physical attackers such as Togedemaru locked into Iron Head and Aggron, remove entry hazards with Defog, use Parting Shot to keep up momentum, or hit something with Surf or Thunderbolt. Because Silvally-Water lacks reliable recovery, one should determine at Team Preview what Pokemon Silvally-Water can and cannot switch into as well as what Pokemon it can reliably use Defog against. Silvally-Water should also be wary of its health and watch out for status moves like Toxic. When low on health, it should be played more aggressively, using Defog as a last-ditch effort to remove entry hazards and constantly pivoting out with Parting Shot on Pokemon that it can force out such as Aggron; however, using Parting Shot and Defog can be costly against Defiant users like Primeape.

Team Options
========

Silvally-Water is best used on bulky offensive and balanced teams thanks to its ability to remove entry hazards for teammates such as Aurorus and Oricorio-G. Scyther in particular is an excellent offensive partner because it forms a pivoting core with Silvally-Water and appreciates the removal of entry hazards. Pokemon such as Hitmonchan and Type: Null that can switch into Electric- and Grass-type Pokemon are ideal partners, as they ease some pressure off of Silvally-Water. Type: Null also forms a pivoting core with Silvally-Water. Mesprit is also a solid partner with access to U-turn that can provide Stealth Rock and Healing Wish support. Grass-types such as Lilligant and Lurantis can patch up team weaknesses to Electric-types such as Lanturn. Lilligant also appreciates Silvally Water's Parting Shot support, as it makes setting up with Quiver Dance easier. Pokemon that apperciate entry hazards such as Spikes and Toxic Spikes being off the field like Crabominable and Regirock are also good teammates. In return, Crabominable is able to blanket check a plethora of special attackers, including Aurorus, Haunter, Rotom-F, and Lilligant, while Regirock can check physical attackers like Togedemaru. Audino is a great partner on bulky teams, as it's able to compensate for Silvally-Water's lack of reliable recovery. Audino is also a solid defensive backbone that can check Grass- and Electric-type Pokemon like Ludicolo and Lanturn for Silvally-Water. In return, Silvally-Water is able to check Pokemon such as Alolan Sandslash and remove entry hazards that mitigate the HP regained with Audino's Regenerator.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Silvally-Water can run alternate defensive EV spreads such as 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 Spe, which allows it to outpace Pokemon like Ludicolo, Victreebel, Jolly Alolan Sandslash, and both Assault Vest and Life Orb variants of Hitmonchan; however, Victreebel is rare, and Silvally-Water still beats Alolan Sandslash and loses to Hitmonchan regardless of its EV spread. An EV spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD forgoes all attempts at making use of Silvally-Water's base 95 Speed but lets it better act as a defensive check to Pokemon such as Absol and makes it a more durable entry hazard remover. Silvally-Water can also run an EV spread of 252 HP / 84 Def / 176 Spe, which allows it to use Parting Shot before Qwilfish can use Taunt. Toxic is an option over Thunderbolt or Ice Beam that can cripple specially defensive Pokemon and certain walls such as Hitmonchan and Pyukumuku, but those moves are key attributes to Silvally-Water that allow it to nail Pokemon like Qwilfish and Altaria. An offensive set with maximum Attack and Speed investment alongside a Timid nature and Grass Pledge can be used to hit bulky Pokemon like Quagsire, but it is outclassed by Water-types that have a better offensive presence such as Lanturn and Quagsire. While unorthodox, a physically offensive set with Multi-Attack can be utilized to catch specially defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy off guard; however, considering that most Pokemon that are weak to Water are physically defensive, this can backfire very easily, and Silvally-Water doesn't have the best physical movepool anyway. Silvally-Water can also try a sweeping set with Swords Dance or a mixed set with Work Up, but these methods of trying to give Silvally-Water more offensive presence go against its main niche of role compression and are futile in comparison to other Water-types such as Carracosta, Omastar, and Floatzel, which are just better offensive Water-types and have better coverage options. This also gives Silvally-Water a worse matchup against Defoggers such as Altaria. Lastly, U-turn can be run over Parting Shot, as it's more reliable against Defiant and Clear Body users such as Primeape and Regirock.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dragon-types**: If Silvally-Water isn't running Ice Beam, Dragon-types such as Drampa and Silvally-Dragon can easily take a Surf or Thunderbolt and fire back with a STAB Draco Meteor. Alolan Exeggutor is particularly scary for Silvally-Water, as its STAB Giga Drain is super effective, and it can use Silvally-Water as setup bait for Trick Room.

**Grass-types**: While certain Grass-types like Tangela are mowed down by Silvally-Water's Ice Beam, others such as Lilligant, Bellossom, and Cradily can continually boost with Quiver Dance and set up Stealth Rock or Toxic stall it until it faints.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Alolan Raichu, Manectric, and Togedemaru can threaten Silvally-Water with their super effective STAB attacks, with others such as Lanturn and Eelektross having such high special bulk that they easily tank any attack Silvally-Water uses. They also don't mind Parting Shot, as they will move after Silvally-Water and pivot out themselves with Volt Switch.

**Residual Damage**: With no way to reliably heal itself or alleviate its own status, Silvally-Water cannot help but be eventually worn down via entry hazards, status conditions, and strong neutral attacks from Pokemon like Stoutland and Dodrio.

be ready to potentially update this a lot come mon/tues
[OVERVIEW]

  • Thanks to its great bulk and excellent defensive typing, Silvally-Water provides excellent role compression to teams by being able to check wallbreakers like Kingler, threaten a lot of common steath rock users, and being a defogger that can pivot all at once.
  • Silvally-Water is a fantastic glue Pokemon, patching up team weaknesses to Fire, Ice, and Steel while also sporting great type synergy with Pokemon such as Togedemaru, Pyroar, and Aggron.
  • Despite these attributes, a lack of reliable recovery is extremely straining for any defensive pivot, let alone Silvally-Water, who cannot be equipped with Leftovers due to it having to hold a Water Memory.
  • Due to this lack of reliable recovery, Silvally-Water can be worn down quickly and sometimes struggle to check Pokemon that it would usually check such as Skuntank. this isnt rly a skunk check tho. like if u wanted this to check skunk, rethink ur team imo
  • Its typing also leaves it vulnerable to common types such as Grass and Electric, making it exploited by Pokemon like Ludicolo, Abomasnow, and Eelektross.
  • Silvally-Water also faces competition as a hazard remover from Pokemon like Altaria, which is immune to entry hazards spikes. not rocks. that'd be cool tho, has access to reliable recovery, and is able to reliably check Qwilfish and most variants of Lanturn altaria is not a great check to either of these ?_? qwil taunts and spikes and lanturn just spams ice beam and makes u roost.
  • Despite these flaws, Silvally-Water is still overall an advantageous choice as a Defogger that provides exellent role compression and excels on offensive and balanced team archetypes.
i feel like this misses a huge point about it, how u can keep momentum better than with any other remover in the meta. that + checking big important threats should be emphasized, but this goes very quickly into negatives. this might just resolve itself in writeup though

Moves

  • Defog removes entry hazards from both sides of the field and allows more breathing room for Silvally-Water and its teammates, as well as more freedom to pivot into necessary checks without worry of being worn down too quickly.
  • Surf is Silvally-Water's primary attacking move, dealing STAB super effective damage to Pokemon such as Aggron and Aurorus, and solid damage to top-tier threats such as Kingler and Skuntank.
  • Thunderbolt offers excellent coverage alongside Surf, allowing Silvally-Water to hit opposing Water-types such as Qwilfish and Swanna super effectively. idk about excellent, it's ur best option but water/elec isnt amazing coverage in this meta, ur still missing enough stuff
  • Ice Beam is also another solid option, which hits Dragon- and Grass-types that otherwise wall Silvally-Water such as Altaria, Alolan Exeggutor, and Lilligant.
  • Parting Shot generates momentum while also lowering the target's offensive stats, allowing for a teammate such as Pyroar to come onto the field more safely.
Set Details
========

  • 136 Speed EVs allow Silvally-Water to outspeed neutral base 80s such as Shiftry and Mesprit. This benchmark is important for Silvally-Water, as it can deal massive damage to Shiftry with Ice Beam and pivot out of Mesprit with Parting Shot. 248 HP EVs alongside 124 Defense EVs and a Bold nature help Silvally-Water act as a defensive check to Pokemon such as Kingler and Regirock. IVs for Attack are dropped to zero, as they aren't of any use to Silvally-Water and helps it take less from Foul Play users like Spiritomb. we got stoutland back so that's prolly good to put here
  • RKS System and Water Memory are Silvally-Water's fixed ability and item, respectively, and allow the customization of its Water typing. these u don't even have to mention, u can leave it in bc it don't hurt tho and idc
Usage Tips
========

  • Silvally-Water should primarily be used as a defensive pivot, reliably checking Pokemon such as Alolan Sandslash and Kingler.
  • Once Silvally-Water is brought in against a Water-type against a water type specifically? cuz that includes like, lanturn. idt u meant vs a water type lol it can choose to either Defog away entry hazards, pivot out with Parting Shot to keep up momentum, or heavily damage the Water-type with Thunderbolt.
  • Because Silvally-Water lacks reliable recovery, from Team Preview, one should determine what Pokemon Silvally-Water can and cannot switch into, as well as what Pokemon it can reliably use Defog against. Thus, Silvally-Water should prioritize Defogging over attacking due to its lack of recovery and lack of offensive presence.
  • If it doesn't have a great matchup against any of the remaining Pokemon on the opposing team, Silvally-Water should be played more aggressively, using Defog as the opposition switches out and constantly pivoting out with Parting Shot; however, be wary that using Parting Shot can be costly against Defiant users like Primeape.
  • Silvally-Water should ultimately be sacked so that the late-game sweeper such as Z-Lovely Kiss Jynx or Gurdurr can be brought in for free. When it's being sacked, use Parting Shot just in case the opponent tries to set up so that you can pivot into the aforementioned sweepers anyways. this is kinda specific, like it's definitely an option but "should be sacked" is a pretty strong sentiment
Team Options
========
  • Being used to its fullest potential on balance and bulky offense teams, Silvally-Water's ability to remove entry hazards with Defog benefits its entire team. However, Pokemon that are weak to Stealth Rock such as Aurorus, Oricorio-G, and the previously mentioned Pyroar are especially thankful for Silvally-Water's utility, as they don't have to fear nearly as much about having their health stripped away due to Stealth Rock being down.
  • Answers to special Electric- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Hitmonchan and Type: Null make great partners, as they ease some pressure off of it and help augment Silvally-Water's longevity. Silvally-Water can also lower the Attack and Special Attack of Pokemon such as Alolan Raichu and Lilligant as they switch into Parting Shot, making it easier for Silvally-Water's teammates to check these threats.
  • Audino is a great partner on bulky teams, as it can support Silvally-Water by taking a more defensive approach to teambuilding, taking relatively nothing from the special Electric and Grass moves pointed at it, alleviating its status with Heal Bell, passing Wishes, and forming a solid defensive backbone.
  • Pokemon that can beat Dragon-types such as Clefairy, Carbink and Aurorus are also apperciated if Silvally-Water isnt using Ice Beam.
  • Pokemon that appreciate the removal of Qwilfish such as Scyther and Kangaskhan make for good teammates. After Qwilfish is removed, Scyther can U-turn more freely, while Kangaskhan can spam its Silk Scarf boosted Double-Edge more freely. watervally doesnt rly remove qwilfish on its own or anything, just keep the hazards off. it's definitely worth mentioning mons that want spikes off tho, u went through rocks weak things but stuff like regirock that rly hate spikes can benefit just as much
  • Silvally-Water can create a solid offensive Fire, Water, and Grass core with Pokemon such as Lilligant and Pyroar, with the only downsides being it can be hard to implement a physical attacker into this core.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Silvally-Water can run alternate defensive EV spreads, such as 248 HP / 156 Def / 104 Spe, which allows it to still outpace neutral base 70s such as Ludicolo and Victreebel, Jolly Alolan Sandslash, and both Assault Vest and Life Orb variants of Hitmonchan. However, Victreebel is rare, and Silvally-Water still beats Alolan Sandslash and loses to Hitmonchan regardless if it outspeeds them or not. The current spread also outspeeds these listed threats, and trying to trade important Speed EVs for such little extra defensive bulk is generally futile. Another spread of 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe forgoes all attempts at Silvally-Water making use of its base 95 Speed, allowing it to better act as a defensive check to Pokemon such as Kingler and Absol, as well as a more durable entry hazard remover. EVs: 248 HP / 84 Def / 176 Spe better than the first OO spread, can prob mention both but this is >>, outspeeding qwilfish is way better than the base 70 area. i would not creep extra for the mons u mentioned, but id absolutely do it for not getting taunted by the most common spiker
  • Toxic can cripple specially defensive Pokemon and certain walls such as Hitmonchan, Cradily, and Pyukumuku, but would replace Thunder Bolt or Ice Beam, key attributes to Silvally-Water that allow it to nail Pokemon like Qwilfish and Altaria.
  • A specially offensive Silvally-Water set with Grass Pledge may sound appealing at first but is outclassed by Pokemon such as Lanturn and Ludicolo since Silvally-Water doesn't have a true ability or item to give itself a type immunity, a power boost, or double its Speed. If one chooses to run such a set, it would utilize maximum Special Attack and Speed EVs alongside a Timid nature to hit as strong and as fast as possible. why are there 2 different grass pledge points
  • Grass Pledge lures opposing Water-types like Lanturn, but isn't very optimal for defensive variants of Silvally-Water, being outdone by Ludicolo with its secondary Grass STAB, Life Orb, and Swift Swim ability.
  • A physically offensive Silvally-Water set with Multi-Attack can be utilized to catch specially defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy off guard; however, considering that most Pokemon that are weak to Water are physically defensive, this can backfire very easily, and Silvally-Water doesn't have the best physical movepool anyways. Silvally-Water can also try a sweeping set with Swords Dance or a mixed set with Work Up. but these methods of trying to give Silvally-Water more offensive presence are futile in comparison to other Water-types such as Carracosta and Kingler who are just better offensive Water-types and have better coverage options. they also make u a worse defogger, since qwilfish becomes way more annoying
  • U-turn could be used over Parting Shot, as it's more reliable against Defiant, Clear Body, and Soundproof users such as Primeape, Regirock, Carbink, and Mr. Mime, but Silvally-Water doesn't need to pivot out of the former, and Mr. Mime is an extremely rare sight.

Alolan Exeggutor is particularly scary for Silvally-Water, as its STAB Giga Drain is super effective against it, and can use Silvally-Water as setup bait utilizing Trick Room.

Silvally-Water provides excellent role compression to teams by being able to check Pokemon like Kabutops, Qwilfish, and Combusken due to its great bulk, excellent defensive typing, and ability to threaten Stealth Rock users such as Regirock and Mudsdale(You might wanna mention that its a defogger before you mention its good matchup against SR mons). Silvally-Water is also a fantastic glue Pokemon that can patch up team weaknesses to Fire-, Ice-, and Steel-types, while also sporting great type synergy with Pokemon such as Togedemaru, Liligant, and Aggron.(I get the idea, but this structure makes it seem more like an Team Options point) With access to Parting Shot, Silvally-Water is able to generate momentum better than any other entry hazard remover in the metagame.(Even other silvally? frostom too ig) On the downside, however, Silvally-Water's overall effectiveness is limited by its weakness to other common types such as Grass- and Electric; as well as its lack of reliable recovery, meaning it can be worn down quickly (which makes it kinda struggle as a hazard remover)and struggle to check Pokemon that it would normally check such as Alolan Sandslash. Despite these flaws, Silvally-Water is still overall an advantageous choice as a Defogger that provides excellent role compression and excels on offensive and balanced team archetypes.

Surf is Silvally-Water's primary attacking move, dealing super effective damage to Pokemon such as Aggron and Aurorus(Aurorus lives and almost ohkoes, id use another example), and solid damage to top-tier threats such as Mesprit and Skuntank. Thunderbolt offers good coverage alongside Surf, allowing Silvally-Water to hit opposing Water-types such as Qwilfish and Swanna super effectively. (note that hitting qwil is big cuz its a spikes setter)Ice Beam is a secondary option that can be used to OHKO (it doesnt ohko alt, eggy can live, as can other things. just say something like 'hits')Dragon- and Grass-types that otherwise wall Silvally-Water such as Altaria and Alolan Exeggutor. Parting Shot generates momentum while also lowering the target's offensive stats, allowing for a teammate such as Pyroar(lol) to come onto the field more safely.

RKS System and Water Memory are Silvally-Water's fixed ability and item, respectively, and allow the customization of its Water typing. 136 Speed EVs allow Silvally-Water to outspeed neutral base 80s such as Shiftry and Mesprit. This benchmark is important for Silvally-Water, as it allows it to deal massive damage to Shiftry with Ice Beam (would you really wanna stay in against shiftry, cuz Ice Beam only does like 70% max)and pivot out of Mesprit(it can also pivot out of shiftry. and stoutland) with Parting Shot. Silvally-Water uses 248(252) HP EVs alongside 124 (120)Defense EVs with a Bold nature to help it check Pokemon like Stoutland more reliably(Stout 2HKOes :l). The IVs for Attack are dropped to zero, as they aren't of any use to Silvally-Water and help it take less from potential Foul Play users like Spiritomb.(no need to mention the 0 ivs)

Usage Tips
========

Silvally-Water can use its Water-typing and great bulk to continuously pivot in and check or counter threatening physical attackers (physical attackers in general?)like Alolan Sandslash(maybe one or two more examples?). On the turn Silvally-Water forces out physical attackers such as Aggron or Togedemaru locked into Iron Head, it should use this opportunity to remove entry hazards away with Defog; Parting Shot to keep up momentum, or hit something with Surf or Thunderbolt. Because Silvally-Water lacks reliable recovery, from Team Preview, one should determine what Pokemon Silvally-Water can and cannot switch into, as well as what Pokemon it can reliably use Defog against. If Silvally-Water doesn't have a great matchup against any of the remaining Pokemon on the opposing team, it should be played more aggressively, using Defog as the opposition(wut) switches out (arent you already doing that?)and constantly pivoting out with Parting Shot; however, be wary that using Parting Shot(and Defog) can be costly against Defiant users like Primeape.
(Maybe something about staying wary of how much health its at, to watch out for coverage and Toxic, using Defog as a last-ditch effort when its at low, and more situations when it can use pshot? idk)
Team Options
========

Silvally-Water is best used on bulky offense and balance teams thanks to its ability to remove entry hazards with Defog for teammates such as Aurorus and Oricorio-G. Scyther, in particular, is an excellent offensive partner that appreciates the removal of entry hazards as its able to use U-turn more comfortably. (forms pivot core)Pokemon that can switch into Electric- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Hitmonchan (double hazard removal, sexy)and Type:Null(Type: Null) are ideal partners, as they ease some pressure off of Silvally-Water. (Type: Null also forms pivot core)Audino is a great partner on bulky teams, as its able to compensate for Silvally-Water's lack of reliable recovery. Audino also is a solid defensive backbone that can check Grass- and Electric-type pokemon like Ludicolo and Lanturn for Silvally-Water. In return, Silvally-Water is able to check physical attackers (again, physical attackers in general?)such as Alolan Sandslash and remove entry hazards that mitigate the HP regained with Regenerator for Audino. Pokemon that can beat Dragon-types such as Clefairy and Aurorus also make for good teammates if Silvally-Water isn't using Ice Beam.(I'd say theyre still solid teammates even if running Ice Beam)
(Things good against grass and electric are mentioned, but you can easily expand with things like flying-types, ground-types, and even grass types for lanturn)(maybe also some more stuff that appreciates silvally's pshot)(also stuff that dont like spikes and tspikes being up)(also mention mes for hwish and uturn and whatnot)

Silvally-Water can run alternate defensive EV spreads such as 248(252) HP / 156(152) Def / 104 Spe, which allows it to outpace neutral base 70s like Ludicolo, Victreebel, Jolly Alolan Sandslash, and both Assault Vest and Life Orb variants of Hitmonchan(kinda weird sentence structure, since only the first two are base 70's); however, Victreebel is rare, and Silvally-Water still beats Alolan Sandslash and loses to Hitmonchan regardless. Another spread of 248(252) HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe (small, but last EVs shouldnt be put in Speed since it just creates mind games with other mons in the same speed tier. also remember to change to 4 evs wherever u put them instead)forgoes all attempts at Silvally-Water making use of its base 95 Speed, allowing it to better act as a defensive check to Pokemon such as Absol, as well as a more durable entry hazard remover. Addionally, Silvally-Water can run an EV spread of 248(252) HP / 84 Def / 176 Spe, which allows it to avoid Taunt from Qwilfish. Toxic is an option over Thunder Bolt(Thunderbolt) or Ice Beam that can cripple specially defensive Pokemon and certain walls such as Hitmonchan and Pyukumuku, but Thunder Bolt(Thunderbolt) and Ice Beam are key attributes to Silvally-Water that allow it to nail Pokemon like Qwilfish and Altaria. A specially offensive Silvally-Water set with Grass Pledge(Why is grass pledge run specifically on offensive?) can be used but is outclassed by Pokemon such as Lanturn and Ludicolo that have a better offensive presence. (Also goes against its main niche in role compression)This also gives Silvally-Water a worse matchup against Defoggers such as Qwilfish and Altaria. Lastly, U-turn can be run over Parting Shot, as it's more reliable against Defiant, Clear Body, and Soundproof(lol soundproof) users such as Primeape, Regirock, Carbink, and Mr. Mime, but Silvally-Water doesn't need to pivot out of the former(regirock isnt the former), and Mr. Mime is an extremely rare Pokemon in the metagame.(yeah, no need to mention mime and carbink, theyre uncommon af, and carbink doesnt even run clear body)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dragon-types**: If Silvally-Water isnt running Ice Beam, Dragon-types such as Drampa and Silvally-Dragon can easily take a Thunderbolt or a Surf (extremely nitpicky, but mention Surf first imo :v)and fire back with a STAB Draco Meteor. Alolan Exeggutor is particularly scary for Silvally-Water, as its STAB Giga Drain is super effective against it, and can use Silvally-Water as setup bait utilizing Trick Room.

**Grass-types**: While certain Grass-types such as Alolan Exeggutor (already mentioned in dragon types)and Tangela get mowed down by Silvally-Water's Ice Beam(This seems to be moreso degrading them than saying theyre checks), others such as Lilligant(and bell) and Cradily can continually boost with Quiver Dance or Toxic stall it until it faints, respectively.(Cradily can also re-set sr while doing so)

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Alolan Raichu, Manectric, and Togedemaru can threaten Silvally-Water with their super effective STAB attacks, with others such as Lanturn and Eelektross having such a high Special Defense stat that they couldn't care less about Silvally-Water's Surf or Thunderbolt(I doubt theyd care about tbolt either way)(also don't care as much about pshot since they move after and just pivot out themselves).

**Residual Damage**: With no way to reliably heal itself or alleviate its own status, Silvally-Water cannot help but be eventually worn down via entry hazards, status conditions, and strong neutral attacks(examples?).
QC 3/3. A little short in some areas, could use a couple more examples in a few places, and calcing things before you put them in an analysis is usually a good idea lol.

[OVERVIEW]

Silvally-Water is a defogger Defogger that provides teams with excellent role compression to teams by being able to check Pokemon like Kabutops, Qwilfish, and Combusken and threaten while also threatening Stealth Rock users such as Regirock and Mudsdale due to its great bulk,(RC) and excellent defensive typing (guess this is QC, but isn't the role compression more the combination of Defog + Parting Shot? the current sentence makes it seem like the role compression is being fat and bopping Rock setters). With access to Parting Shot, Silvally-Water is able to almost generate momentum better than almost any other entry hazard remover in the metagame. On the downside, however,(RC) Silvally-Water's overall effectiveness is limited by its weakness weaknesses to other common types such as Grass- in Grass and Electric;(RSC) as well as its lack of reliable recovery, meaning it can struggle as a hazard remover,(AC) since it can be worn down quickly and struggle to check Pokemon that it would normally check such as Alolan Sandslash. Furthermore, Silvally-Water faces competition as a hazard remover from Altaria, which is immune to Spikes and has access to reliable recovery. Despite these flaws, Silvally-Water is still overall an advantageous effective choice as a Defogger that provides excellent role compression and excels on offensive and balanced teams team archetypes.

Defog removes entry hazards from both sides of the field and allows more breathing room for Silvally-Water and its teammates,(RC) while also providing more freedom to pivot into necessary checks foes Silvally-Water checks without worry of being worn down by entry hazards too quickly. Surf is Silvally-Water's primary attacking move, dealing super effective damage to Pokemon like Alolan Dugtrio,(RC) and solid damage to top-tier threats such as Mesprit and Skuntank (I'm just gonna assume this sentence is overall unnecessary given the new standards changes, considering it's pretty obvious what Surf hits). Thunderbolt offers good coverage alongside Surf, allowing Silvally-Water to hit opposing Water-types such as Qwilfish and Swanna super effectively. Hitting Qwilfish super effectively is noteworthy because its it's a hazard setter that can shut down Silvally-Water lacking Thunderbolt with Taunt if it isnt running Thunderbolt. Ice Beam is a secondary option that can be used to hit Dragon- and Grass-types that otherwise wall Silvally-Water such as Altaria and Alolan Exeggutor. Parting Shot generates momentum while also lowering the target's offensive stats, allowing for a teammate such as Aggron to come onto the field more safely.

Set Details
========

RKS System and Water Memory are Silvally-Water's fixed ability and item, respectively, and allow the customization of its Water typing. 136 Speed EVs allow Silvally-Water to outspeed neutral base 80s such as Shiftry and Mesprit. This benchmark is important for Silvally-Water, as it allows it Silvally-Water to pivot out of Pokemon like Stoutland and Mesprit with Parting Shot. Silvally-Water uses 252 HP EVs alongside 120 Defense EVs with a Bold nature to help it check Pokemon like Kangaskhan more reliably (this sentence too seems pretty pointless by the new QC standards. maybe even the stuff about ability and item).

Usage Tips
========

Silvally-Water can use its Water-typing Water typing and great bulk to continuously pivot in and check or counter threatening physical attackers like Alolan Sandslash, Alolan Dugtrio, and Kabutops. On the turn Silvally-Water forces out physical attackers such as Togedemaru locked into Iron Head and Aggron or Togedemaru locked into Iron Head, it should use this opportunity to remove entry hazards away with Defog;,(RSC, AC) use Parting Shot to keep up momentum, or hit something with Surf or Thunderbolt. Because Silvally-Water lacks reliable recovery, from Team Preview, one should determine what Pokemon Silvally-Water can and cannot switch into,(RC) as well as what Pokemon it can reliably use Defog against. Silvally-Water should also be wary of its health and watch out for status moves like Toxic. When low on health, it should be played more aggressively, using Defog as a last-ditch effort to remove entry hazards and constantly pivoting out with Parting Shot on Pokemon such as Aggron that it can force out; however, be wary that using Parting Shot and Defog can be costly against Defiant users like Primeape.

Team Options
========

Silvally-Water is best used on bulky offense offensive and balance balanced teams thanks to its ability to remove entry hazards with Defog for teammates such as Aurorus and Oricorio-G. Scyther, in particular, is an excellent offensive partner that because it forms a pivot core with Silvally-Water and appreciates the removal of entry hazards,(AC) as its able to that lets it use U-turn more comfortably. Pokemon such as Hitmonchan and Type: Null that can switch into Electric- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Hitmonchan and Type: Null are ideal partners, as they ease some pressure off of Silvally-Water. Type: Null also forms a pivot core with Silvally-Water. Mesprit is also a solid parter partner with access to U-turn that can provide Stealth Rock, Healing Wish support,(AC) and form a pivot core. Grass-types such as Liligant Lilligant and Lurantis are also good teamates teammates that can patch up team weaknesses to Electric-types such as Lanturn. Lilligant also appreciates the Parting Shot support that Silvally-water Silvally-Water provides,(AC) as it makes setting up with Quiver Dance against foes easier against foes. Pokemon that appreciate apperciate entry hazards such as Spikes and Toxic Spikes being off the field like Crabominable and Regirock are also good teamates teammates to pair with Silvally-Water. In return, Crabominable is able to blanket check a plethora of special attackers for Silvally-Water,(AC) including Aurorus, Haunter, Rotom-F, and Lilligant, while Regirock can check physical attackers like Togedemaru for Silvally-Water. Audino is a great partner on bulky teams, as its it's able to compensate for Silvally-Water's lack of reliable recovery. Audino also is also a solid defensive backbone that can check Grass- and Electric-type pokemon Pokemon like Ludicolo and Lanturn for Silvally-Water. In return, Silvally-Water is able to check Pokemon such as Alolan Sandslash and remove entry hazards that mitigate the HP regained with Regenerator for Audino. Pokemon such as Clefairy and Aurorus that can beat Dragon-types such as Clefairy and Aurorus also make for good teammates if Silvally-Water isn't using Ice Beam.

Silvally-Water can run an alternate defensive EV spreads such as spread of 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 Spe, which allows it to outpace Pokemon like Ludicolo, Victreebel, Jolly Alolan Sandslash, and both Assault Vest and Life Orb variants of Hitmonchan; however, Victreebel is rare, and Silvally-Water still beats Alolan Sandslash and loses to Hitmonchan regardless of its EV spread. Another An EV spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD forgoes all attempts at Silvally-Water making use of its base 95 Speed, allowing it to but lets it better act as a defensive check to Pokemon such as Absol, as well as and makes it a more durable entry hazard remover. Addionally, Silvally-Water can also run an EV spread of 252 HP / 84 Def / 176 Spe, which allows it to avoid Taunt from Qwilfish use Parting Shot before Qwilfish can use Taunt (I think this is what you meant, considering you're getting hit by Taunt otherwise, so you don't avoid it at the end of the day). Toxic is an option over Thunderbolt or and Ice Beam that can cripple specially defensive Pokemon and certain walls such as Hitmonchan and Pyukumuku, but Thunderbolt and Ice Beam are key attributes to Silvally-Water that allow it to nail Pokemon like Qwilfish and Altaria, respectively. A An offensive (? think you mean this given you compare it to other offensive Pokemon) )set with maximum Attack and Speed investment alongside a Timid nature and Grass Pledge can be used to hit bulky Pokemon like Quagsire,(AC) but it is outclassed by Pokemon such as Lanturn and Ludicolo that have a better offensive presence. If one chooses to run such a set, it would utilize maximum Special Attack and Speed EVs alongside a Timid nature to hit as strong and as fast as possible. While unorthodox, a physically offensive Silvally-Water set with Multi-Attack can be utilized to catch specially defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy off guard; however, considering that most Pokemon that are weak to Water are physically defensive, this can backfire very easily, and Silvally-Water doesn't have the best physical movepool anyway anyways. Silvally-Water can also try a sweeping set with Swords Dance or a mixed set with Work Up, but these methods of trying to give Silvally-Water more offensive presence go against its main niche in of role compression and are futile in comparison to other Water-types such as Carracosta, Omastar, and Floatzel, which who are just better offensive Water-types and have better coverage options. This also gives Silvally-Water a worse matchup against Defoggers such as Qwilfish and (did you mean to mention that it also has a worse matchup against entry hazard setters too? otherwise killing Qwilfish mention, since it is not a Defogger) Altaria. Lastly, U-turn can be run over Parting Shot, as it's more reliable against Defiant and Clear Body users such as Primeape and Regirock.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dragon-types**: If Silvally-Water isnt isn't running Ice Beam, Dragon-types such as Drampa and Silvally-Dragon can easily take a Surf or Thunderbolt and fire back with a STAB STAB-boosted Draco Meteor. Alolan Exeggutor is particularly scary for Silvally-Water, as its STAB Giga Drain is super effective against it, and it can use Silvally-Water as setup bait utilizing for Trick Room.

**Grass-types**: While certain Grass-types like Tangela are mowed down by Silvally-Water's Ice Beam, others such as Lilligant, Bellossom, and Cradily can continually boost with Quiver Dance,(RC) setup and set up Stealth Rock,(RC) or Toxic stall it until it faints, respectively.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Alolan Raichu, Manectric, and Togedemaru can threaten Silvally-Water with their super effective STAB attacks, with others such as Lanturn and Eelektross having such a high Special Defense stat that they couldn't care less about easily tank any attack that Silvally-Water uses wanted to throw at them. They also dont don't mind Parting Shot,(AC) as they will move after Silvally-Water and pivot out themselves with Volt Switch.

**Residual Damage**: With no way to reliably heal itself or alleviate its own status, Silvally-Water cannot help but be eventually worn down via entry hazards, status conditions, and strong neutral attacks from Pokemon like Stoutland and Dodrio.
