SimonSays vs Lord Jesseus, a babysitter brawl in No-Man's Land!

Not open for further replies.
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to another fiery battle here in CAP ASB!
Today's match is a bit of a hike, way out here in No-Man's Land!
The very air shivers with anticipation, awaiting the surely-epic battle!
Two trainers stand alone, issuing and accepting a formal challenge:
Open Challenge
2v2 Babysitter Doubles (at least 1 LC)
2 Day DQ
2 Recoveries / 5 Chills
Old Sub Rules
Arena: Glacier Knight's No Man's Land
Field Type- Neutral
Complexity- Simple
Format- All
Restrictions- Little water sources

No Man’s Land: the only remnants of a war taking place on this lonely plane are craters from cannons and two hastily made trenches opposite of one another. This place is perfect for an intense brawl of epic proportions because unlike domes, gyms, or protected forests this place is dying to be torn apart again. There are no trees or grass, just mounds of dirt and dust, with some puddles here and there from past storms. The air is stale, and you can feel the tension that was strained here years ago. Yes, this already forgotten area is perfect for rough housing and playing dirty. Summary: Dig/earthquake is allowed. Weather is allowed.
I'll take it!

The rules decided, the trainers release their Pokemon into the vast, war-torn arena.

Team SimonSays:

Togepi (Dame) [F]
Nature: Bold [Adds one (1) Rank to Defense; Subtracts one (1) Rank from Attack.]
Type: Normal
Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Abilities:
Hustle: (Can be Enabled) This Pokemon puts immense force and speed in its physical attacks, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by three (3), but the haste used lowers their accuracy to 80% of normal.
Serene Grace: (Innate) This Pokemon has a blessing which doubles the success chance of its attack’s secondary effects. (eg paralysis from Thunderbolt)
Super Luck (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon’s natural skill increases its critical hit levels one stage above other Pokemon, making its normal moves inflict critical hits 12.5% of the time and its high critical hit moves inflict critical hits 25% of the time.

Lucario (Jack Knave) [M]
Nature: Hasty (Multiplies base Speed by 1.15 and provides a flat accuracy boost on all attacks equal to its new Base Speed squared, then divided based on its evolution stage. (Formula: ACC Boost = (New Base^2)/Divisor [Round Normally, Max: 30]). The Divisor is 870 for fully evolved Pokemon, 580 for Pokemon that are the second of three stages, 435 for Pokemon that are the first of two stages, and 290 for Pokemon that are the first of three stages. This accuracy boost is added to their Dodge Command chance; Subtracts one (1) Rank from Defense)
Type: Fighting / Steel
Fighting: Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions of throwing/grappling moves. Superior reaction time in close quarters.
Steel: Steel STAB; Immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.

Abilities:
Steadfast: (Innate) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.
Inner Focus: (Innate) When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokemon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.
Justified (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions. When hit by a Dark-type move, the Pokemon's attack will increase one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts.

Seems relatively even, considering I only ever look at Typing with a general idea of attacking prowess.

Nothing | Amulet Coin

Jack, this isn't a very friendly place. Look after Dame, okay?

Yeah I noticed that too.
Luxray @ Amulet Coin: Thunder Wave Lucario~Double Kick Lucario~Thunderbolt Lucario
If Detect is used by Lucario Successfully: Double Kick Togepi and Push Actions back.
If Lucario would use Counter on Actions 2 or 3: Thunderbolt Lucario and push actions back
Nincada @ EXP Share: X-Scissor Togepi~Bug Bite Togepi~X-Scissor Togepi
@EndQuote: Don't forget about Intimidate or Rivalry!

edit: lololol fixed the half sub sorry

Now, let's keep on the front foot, shall we?"

Jack Knave: Evasive Agility ~ Focus Blast (Luxray) ~ Ice Punch (Nincada)

Dame: Reflect ~ Flamethrower (Nincada) ~ AncientPower (Nincada)

Round One

Actually, Rivalry only activates if the foe is in the same egg group.
Because Togepi isn't in an egg group, Lucario is in the Ground and Humanshape egg groups, and Luxray is in the Field egg group, Rivalry will not activate this battle.

Learn something new every day, right?

Round One Start!
As the sun rises over the war-torn landscape, orders are issued, items equipped, and the battlers ready themselves for the upcoming skirmish. On one side, a Lucario eyes his foes wearily, lifting a cheerful Togepi up for a better view. On the other, a Nincada happily burrows in the ground, watched by the gleaming eyes of a Luxray. The lines have been drawn, and the suspense hangs heavy in the air...

As the round begins, Epsilon the Luxray lets out an intimidating cry! Clearly unnerved, Jack Knave the Lucario dives into a nearby trench, displaying remarkable Agility, in an attempt to evade all attacks! As he hits the dirt, a Thunder Wave from the Luxray flies over his head, the crackling charge barely missing him! Meanwhile, Sampi the Nincada burrows underground, then surfaces beneath Togepi in a strong X-Scissor! Hoping to mitigate further damage, Dame the Togepi creates a Reflective golden box around herself and her teammate!

From within the safe embrace of the Reflect, Jack Knave launches a Focus Blast that nails Epsilon for solid damage, knocking the Luxray into a puddle! Shaking off the water with hatred and Rivalry in his eyes, Epsilon rushes forward into a Double Kick, but the Reflect seems to have weakened the attack somewhat! Sampi tries to break through the shield with a Bug Bite, but barely scratches Dame! In retaliation, the Togepi torches the Nincada with a Flamethrower, setting the bug screeching into a nearby puddle, wings ablaze.

Taking advantage of Sampi's distraction, Jack Knave nails the Nincada with a Punch crackling with Ice! Coming to his teammate's rescue, Epsilon fires a Bolt of Thunder that knocks Lucario back into a trench! Struggling to his feet, Sampi again uses X-Scissor on Dame, but the Reflect holds! The Togepi, summoning rocks with an AncientPower, crushes the bug beneath the onslaught!

As the round closes, Dame rushes to help Jack out of his trench, as Epsilon digs Sampi out from under the rocks. The battlers turn to face one another once more, awaiting their orders...

Your turn, SimonSays!

Ordering first is quite hard... So many different ways to messed up. Dame, Activate Hustle, even though it does nothing for your ranged attacks.

Dame: Flamethrower ~ AncientPower ~ Flamethrower, all at Nincada
IF Nincada uses Protect successfully without transfer, then use Sweet Kiss (Luxray)
IF Nincada faints, then Redirect remaining moves to Luxray

Jack Knave: Blaze Kick ~ Ice Punch ~ Blaze Kick, all at Nincada
IF Nincada Faints, Replace remaining actions with Focus Blast (Luxray)
IF Foe uses Superpower against you, then use Counter that action

The Ground and Field egg groups are the same thing. Why Bulbapedia calls it Field and Veekun calls it Ground I don't know, but what I do know is that they are different words for the same thing and Luxray and Lucario are both compatible for breeding.
Rivalry does activate against Lucario.

Hm, my above post seems... colder... than intended. Sorry if that seemed like I was angry with you.
Anyway:
Nincada: Dig (Don't emerge)~Stay Under~Hit Lucario
Luxray: Double Kick Lucario~SuperPower+SuperPower Lucario~Double Kick Lucario
edit: btw Simon your lucario has 10 MC whaaaaaat

Round Two

No worries, LJ.

I was wondering about that, Simon.
Are you stockpiling it against the rare chance of Gamefreak magically releasing move tutors from nowhere?

Round Two Start!
As the dust settles from the previous round, the battlers receive their orders and line up once more, each side determined to triumph...

Leaping into the air, Jack Knave flips forward as his outstretched paw erupts into flames! He slams into Sampi with a strong Blaze Kick! Hissing in anger, Epsilon rushes to his teammate's defense, distracting the Lucario with a Double Kick as Sampi Digs underground to hide! Dame launches a Flamethrower at the disappearing Nincada, but the stream of fire dissipates harmlessly against the earth!

Surfacing to peek at the other battlers, Sampi takes one look at the expression of anger on Dame's face and burrows back underground as an AncientPower shakes the earth behind him! Behind the smaller pair of battlers, the fully-evolved duo are charging up something fierce! Roaring, Epsilon lashes out with a HyperPower Combo, causing Jack Knace some serious pain! However, the Lucario seems to have something up his sleeve...
Jack Knave launches the white-hot orb of energy absorbed from the combo, Countering Epsilon's attack! The Luxray is sent flying!

Struggling to stay standing, Jack Knave attempts to Blaze Kick Nincada, but crumples to the ground, his flame sputtering out. The ground beneath him shakes, and Sampi unleashes his Dig attack! The Lucario is knocked away, into a nearby trench, KOed. Filled with anger over her fallen ally, Dame unleashes a final Flamethrower, this one finding it's mark! It seems the sheer force behind the intense flame has burned Sampi!

As the round closes, the exhausted Luxray and burned Nincada face off against a furious Togepi, in what is sure to be an epic finale. As the sun rises, only time will tell who will triumph...

Jack Knave: Stop Being KO'd.

Dame: Metronome [Hydro Cannon, Blast Burn, Hyper Beam, Earth Power, Hurricane, Dark Void, Spore, Paleo Wave, Roar of Time, Bug Buzz] ~ Flamethrower + Flamethrower Combination (Nincada) / Chill if Sluggish ~ Cooldown / Flamethrower + Flamethrower Combination (Nincada)
IF Nincada is asleep A2, use Flamethrower (Nincada) ~ Chill
IF Nincada Faints, Redirect remaining attacks to Luxray

And I think the 10 MC's due to me forgetting to deduct from a move claim.

"If Sluggish a2, Chill" is indeed a Chance substitution, but, luckily for Simon, "Target Luxray if Nincada faints" is a KO substitution, so it doesn't stack.

Round Three Start!
As the sun rises over the rubble, Dame the Togepi is in trouble. Surrounded by a Nincada and a Luxray, the little eggball hasn't anywhere to run. Stubby arms curling into fists, the Togepi prepares to fight for her life...

Leaping from Dame's left, Epsilon the Luxray fires off a crackling Thunderbolt, nailing Togepi for solid damage! Before she can recover, Sampi the Nincada erupts from under her feet in an X-Scissor. However, on impact, Dame's golden Reflect seems to have absorbed some of the attack before shattering! Struggling to her feet, Dame bounces from side to side rhythmically, leaving her fate in the hands of a Metronome! The RNG gods select Paleo Wave, and a massive shower of stones pelt Sampi!

To protect himself and his teammate, Epsilon creates a protective Screen of pure Light, as Sampi dives underground with a Dig! However, any evasive action is nulled, as she surfaces long before Dame can act! Her Reflect broken, facing a foe shielded by photons, Dame unleashes a powerful Double-Flamethrower-Combo that rips through the Light Screen, decimating the Nincada in a whirling inferno! Sampi, chattering weakly, succumbs to the flames, KOed.

Evidently scared of a foe a fraction of his size, Epsilon siphons off some of his health into a Substitute, blocking the incoming Sweet Kiss from Dame!

Popping up from behind cover, the Luxray fires off a Thunderbolt, then ducks back behind his substitute as Dame retaliates with a Flamethrower.

"Ohh, you think we're just going to lie down and let you finish us? No. We are faar to stubborn for that."

Jump into a Crater (Psuedo-Mud Sport effect) ~ Dodge behind a Boulder ~ Metronome (Gear Grind, Icicle Spear, Rock Blast, Tail Slap, Bonemerang, Bullet Seed, Arm Thrust, Twin Needle, Dual Chop, Shadow Ball)

Round Five

Ref discretion is required here:
Dame, being paralyzed, has a speed of 5.
Epsilon has a speed of 60. (Twelve times as fast as the poor little Togepi)
Even taking into account that Dame is a small target, I really don't think she's going to be able to waddle over to a crater, roll into a puddle, and completely cover herself in mud before Luxray can fire off a single Thunderbolt.
Also, she doesn't know Mud Sport, so even if she can get the effect in time it won't be as powerful as a legitimate Mud Sport.
Sorry, SimonSays, it was a valiant effort anyway.

Pre-round:

Togepi (F) Dame
Nature: Bold
Health: 9
Energy: 18
Boosts: -1 Attack (locked)
Other: Paralyzed 10%, Hustle Activated, 1 KOC

Luxray (M) Epsilon @Amulet Coin
Nature: Quiet
Health: 12
Energy: 19
Boosts: None
Other: Light Screen (1a), Substitute (10 HP)

Round Five Start!
As the fifth round opens, Epsilon seems to be charging up a final attack. Scurrying away from the crackling Luxray, Dame desperately flings herself into a puddle and attempts to cover herself in mud. However, the makeshift Mud Sport doesn't stand up against a powerful Thunderbolt, frying the Togepi where she stands!

Dame sighs softly, reflexively retreating into her egg, KOed.

Lord Jesseus wins!

Good game, Jesseus. Just goes to show that Experience trumps most-everything. =]
