This Garchomp set has been a staple on SMOU balance teams for many years now. Armed with its sky high attack stat and excellent speed tier, it’s proven to be one of the best breakers in the entire meta game. Only a few Pokemons can switch into an Earthquake or Z dragon safely after a Swords Dance namely Tapu Bulu, Skarmory, and Celesteela, which is why Magnezone is one of the best partners for this Garchomp set. It can easily threaten out Tapu Bulu and eliminate the steels. Substitute can also capitalize on your opponent’s passive play, allowing you to set up and more importantly letting you dodge crippling status effects. Such as Scald or Toxic from Toxapex and Will-O-Wisp from Rotom Wash. A +2 Z Dragon can easily eliminate many of the prominent walls in the tier, namely Landorus-Therian, Tangrowth, and Toxapex. Because of this, other breakers that appreciate said walls being gone make for great partners with Garchomp such as Kartana, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Mawile.
