MEDKIT CUZ SHES HEALABLE
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 216 SpD / 44 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect
- Lava Plume
- Roar
- Toxic
Specially defensive Heatran is a staple of SM OU, being able to check a handful of relevant threats such as Tapu Lele, Magearna, and Mega Alakazam. This set takes a unique spin on the standard variant with Roar, allowing Heatran to reliably check setup sweepers like Reuniclus, Clefable, and Mega Latias and, with help from entry hazards and status afflictions, wear down checks like Mega Tyranitar, Garchomp, and Tapu Fini over time, which teammates like Reuniclus, Toxapex and Weavile appreciate. Roar also lets Heatran force out Pokemon it has unfavorable matchups against, such as opposing Heatran, Chansey, and Toxapex. Protect lets it scout foes that commonly carry Choice items like Tapu Lele, Landorus-T, and Weavile, stall out turns for extra Leftovers recovery, and rack up residual status damage on foes. To take as much advantage of Roar as possible, Heatran is best paired up with entry hazard setters such as Greninja, Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Gliscor.
