Serperior has been a staple of hyper offense teams throughout the generation thanks to its Speed, solid bulk and ability, and array of support options. Abandoning its more traditional dual screens support and offensive Substitute sets, this more defensive set compresses several roles in its three support moves. Glare lets it act as an offensive buffer to scary revenge killers like Choice Scarf Kartana, Tornadus-T, and Mega Lopunny. Glare and its spammable Contrary Leaf Storm also give Serperior tools to assist its teammates in breaking through Magearna and Clefable. Rocky Helmet helps in this process by chipping contact attackers into KO range of teammates. Taunt prevents Stealth Rock from Pokemon like Heatran and Garchomp and setup from massive threats like Volcarona. It can also prevent Defog from slower users like Zapdos if necessary; it's worth noting that Contrary is able to punish Defog users with an evasion boost. Defog assists common Stealth Rock-weak teammates like Volcarona and Mega Charizard X. This Serperior set is predominantly used on hyper offense teams, where its Speed and utility are appreciated by slower teammates.
