Also Zard is the most common used mega although counting forms Mega Scizor would be, followed by lopunny and Diancie. Mega Diancie has a 75% win rate so yea
Mega Latias - 12 appearances
Mega Scizor - 11 appearances
Mega Lopunny - 10
Charizard-X (7 or 8, there's one unrevealed), Diancie, Alakazam, Gardevoir at 8 each.

I kept a tally up to week 6.

Is there any way to see the Usage of certain pokemon? Surprisingly, I'm not seeing as many Azu's as I thought, even tho most of the offense/balance teams I've seen are tossed by CB variants. I looove the usage of Mega Garde, I feel like it's such an underappreciated mega in the normal ladder. Shame more players aren't drawn to spl as it really shows how the current meta is played and what can/can't be viable

so usage stats are fully updated and it's probably fine to post them over the course over the last 9 weeks instead of waiting for playoffs to go through because there isn't gonna be any significant differences.

so some of the most notable things is that hoopa-u is insanely dominant in tour play and this is probably linked to people discovering its specs set which is also insane

the same applies to your typical fat clef/skarm/chomp teams which all have similar win rates and are definitely linked together because spikes + magic guard is the dumbest shit ever.

im liking the high win rate on terrakion because people are finally realising that its a great mon despite sab being a cancer to the tier, its band set is dope which seems to be the most common set used

magnezone's high win rate is really neat too because trapping steels is honestly invaluable support, and due to people neglecting it in the builder, they're not running shed shells which usually leads to their spike stack plans with ferro falling flat on its face, not to mention scarf can also check a bunch of dangerous threats in the 90-113 area.

tangrowth is also incredible, checks everything that isn't a fire type or a bird pretty much. gastrodon also has a nice win rate

lopunny also didn't do very well despite being considered one of the better mega evos in ou right now, but its downfall ties in with the dominance of sand which means more lando-ts and fat shit like slowbro and tangrowth.

bisharp having only 5 uses is a fucking crime and its insane the amount of teams that have just ignored it in the builder, the same is sorta applicable with lo torn because i didn't see a lot at all despite the teams it just ravages.

so what other trends have others noticed?

well i mean it has a 0% win percentage, so that speaks volumes of its place in the tour environment. there are supposedly more reliable/threatening dark types in the tier. strong ass sucker punch is indeed scary but its prediction reliant and there are common ways to circumvent it like phatchomp, keld, scarftar, etc. also i'm surprised between the gap in usage between land-t and garchomp. chomp is used less than half the time than land despite them having comparable viability. probably because of how splashable land is on a team and the popularity of it's scarf set, but still shocking. other things i noticed are that gardevoir, breloom and gengar appear to be extremely underwhelming, which is not really surprising considering that gard is a somewhat inferior diancie, sleep is nerfed and has trouble with bulky grass mons and birds, and ttar and torn are omnipresent in the meta.

Yeah as much as I like Gengar, it's extremely hard to use in the metagame. Like on paper there's a variety of stuff it just destroys but on one hand that is clearly large the issues it normally has are so present it feels like its synergy is just off with the metagame. Like you can build a team with it effectively but then you tell yourself, why not use this instead? I think Breloom just got way too hyped when people starting going ape shit with SD and poor teambuilding got teams swept by the set. Breloom has still its good uses but it was easy to catch on to it through the use of Tangrowth, M-Latias, and other checks it has. I wouldn't say Breloom is extremely underwhelming on the level you put it with Gengar, but people caught on quick for their own sake.

I've been telling flegg that for so long man lol, about Bisharp. It's by no means a bad mons but it's really not as difficult as it's made out to be to prep in the teambuilder phase. Normally the only way a sweep ever happens with SD, which I believe is the merit to Bisharp, is either through a crummy team or just support of almost an entire team to successfully pull off the sweep. It seems way too difficult sometimes in the meta and in most SPL matches it was rare to see any opportunity where that would've happened on a consistent basic.

I think the main problem with Bisharp, as much as I like it, is that it only fits onto Hyper Offensive teams well, which we haven't really seen at all during this SPL.

Yea, on paper SD Bisharp sounds like a nice win condition and Pursuit Bisharp sounds like amazing support, but when you take a closer look that Tyranitar or even Mega Scizor do the Pursuiting job way better (or even Weavile, although I think Pursuit Weavile is pretty dong too and it'd rather have Low Kick or PJab), whereas SD Bisharp just isn't a reliable win condition unless you stick it onto a Hyper Offensive team where you can just "gang up" on the popular walls to "physical Pokemon" such as Hippowdon or Garchomp (although Rotom + Bisharp counter complicates that a lot recently, admittedly, I FUCKING LOVE ROTOM), but on a Hyper Offensive team with stuff like Talonflame or Pinsir or even both it's absolutely fantastic, In my opinion. Being able to punish Defog reliably is something very few Pokemon can do, and I'd attribute Bisharp falling flat on its face more to people trying to use it on other playstyle/HO not being very common, rather than Bisharp being flat-out bad.

Clef/Rotom/Hoopa having obscene win percentages (especially Hoopa lol) just reinforces my thoughts of those 3 being top 5 Pokemon in the metagame right now, though. Garchomps win% seems a little high to me, but I'm pretty sure most of those wins were offensive Garchomp sets, which fucking wreck, instead of that TankChomp nonsense (me vs Cicada, me vs Geemick, both being battles that I was involved in where Offensive Garchomp won).

ORAS OU: blunder vs ABR I just want blunder to win.
ORAS OU: IAmGingy vs TheEnder Shitter

wolfpack v sharks
ORAS OU: Stathakis vs Steve Angello Uh Idk not too invested enough to really care.
ORAS OU: Omfuga vs reiku Same thing, although I'm not a fan of reikus team builds and Omfuga has a million friends and try hards included to build for him in desperation for some recognition trying to become the next hugo. Picture the troll from the Lord of the Rings while Omfuga is an Egyptian Frodo. The troll is all those builders thirsty for some acknowledgement. I'll give you a minute to take that all in.

reiku tends to bring TDK style balances. blunder on the other hand is more inclined to play offense, or bulky offense given how playing with other styles (like stall vs xray) led to unfavorable results. Both players could switch it up but if blunder wants to break the balance teams he needs to bring some strong breakers or play out of his mind.

Gingy is a creative builder and I think we will see some cool stall or some balance, don't see him bringing offense vs Steve Angello who can mix it up and play any style.

Rip CTC tho I want to see him play ORAS
