The purpose of SPL is to celebrate overrated players and to make new Smogon users feel bad about themselves because they didn't get drafted no matter how much better they are compared to some of the people who got picked due to their great ass kissing abilities. The best example of this is DennisEG; guy is so much better at OU than at least half of the OU players in SPL, yet he didn't get drafted due to a lack of "connection." There's no scientific truth to what I'm saying though. Just a hypothesis.
