RE: Auction

The auction has been scheduled for Sunday, January 8th at 2 PM EST (GMT-5), or 7 PM GMT-0. Player signups and retentions will close 48 hours prior to the auction.

The first week of SPL XIV will go up Monday, January 16th.

Re: Tiers Played

For clarification on how the signup rules work, any tiers not listed in "Tiers NOT played" are automatically considered tiers you are willing to play during the tournament. Tiers under "Tiers played" are to convey preference to managers, nothing more. Any tier a user refuses to play that is not under "Tiers NOT played" will be considered team sabotage. Additionally, signups with every single tier under "Tiers NOT played" are invalid and will be deleted.

RE: dcae

dcae has been forum banned for reasons unrelated to Smogon Premier League. In accordance with current tour policy, he will not be allowed to participate in the remainder of this SPL season.

Sellback Rules said:
Teams who sell back players before the start of Week 1 will be reimbursed with credits equal to 1.5k+half of that player's retention cost or value in the auction. These credits may be used prior to the start of Week 1 on undrafted players who signed up, and players selected will be eligible to play starting in Week 1. Any of these credits that remain unused will be converted into sellback credits for use in the midseason auction.

Result: The Congregation of the Classiest will be given back 3k credits (1.5k + 3k/2) that they can choose to use prior to the start of week 1 or during the midseason auction.

RE: dice vs Sensei Axew

Situation: The BW OU game between dice and Sensei Axew was played with both of them playing on new alts, "akjfasdjkfdsf" and "jaziasijfjsdjsd" respectively. On Turn 17, "jaziasijfjsdjsd" disconnected, and after about 30 seconds, forfeited the game.

It was confirmed that only "akjfasdjkfdsf" had been registered before the match started, while "jaziasijfjsdjsd" was registered some 9 minutes after. There is approximately 1 minute between the registration and the disconnection + forfeit. Additional checks have also confirmed that the account was not registered by Sensei Axew, so there is strong reason to believe he was not the one who forfeited the game, and had in fact disconnected. However, since the alt being unregistered was an avoidable mistake on the player's end and a recreate could be exploited in the forfeiting player's favour, a recreate or rematch will not be granted.

Result: The result will stand as dice being the winner of the game.

----------

Please be careful and responsible with the alts that you play on, make sure to register them in advance and use strong passwords. You can always check by logging out and logging back in if registration was successful with your password or not.

The TD team has obtained evidence that luser logged into and registered the alt "jaziasijfjsdjsd" during the game between Sensei Axew and dice, took advantage of Sensei Axew's disconnection, and forfeited the game while pretending to be Sensei Axew. This is unacceptable on every level and is a clear violation of our rules against impersonation, among others.

luser will be tournament banned for 1 year.

RE: zioziotrip

zioziotrip has been forum banned for reasons unrelated to Smogon Premier League. In accordance with current tour policy, he will not be allowed to participate in the remainder of this SPL season.

Result: Since zioziotrip has not played his match for this week of SPL, the Raiders will need to substitute a player to play in his place for this week. Since the Raiders drop below the minimum player count for an SPL team, they will get an immediate replacement from the signup pool, but no midseason credits. The pick must be made by the deadline for Week 3 of SPL (February 5th, 9:00 PM GMT-5) and will be allowed to play in the tournament starting Week 4.

EDIT: After discussions between the managers and the hosts, we have decided that affording the Raiders another week to decide a replacement would be fair. If this replacement is picked in the middle of the week, they still cannot be substituted in for the current week (Week 4).

RE: SoulWind vs Yelodash

The Sharks have called activity for the match SoulWind vs Yelodash. Although Yelodash messaged on Smogon 33 minutes before scheduled time and had messaged SoulWind on Smogtours, Yelodash was on an alt that could not be interpreted as a common alias and failed to identify himself. After SoulWind showed up at scheduled time at 3:00PM (GMT-5) and was unable to find Yelodash, Sharks manager TDK tagged Scooter's manager Excal at 3:15PM (GMT-5) in order to try and find him. However, although Excal was present to respond to the inquiry, the Scooters failed to retrieve Yelodash or a suitable substitute before the 30 minute window had passed. Because of this, SoulWind will get an activity win over Yelodash.

RE: WillOfFire vs RaiZen1704 and Lusa vs Luigi

WillOfFire informed RaiZen1704 late into scheduling that he could not play the match, and that he would request his managers to substitute him out. Since they failed to put in a substitute for this matchup, RaiZen1704 will get the activity win over WillOfFire.

Lusa and Luigi chose not to play their match, so this game will be treated as a deadgame.

RE: GaryTheGengar

Since GaryTheGengar is retained from last year, he is locked into the tiers that he signed up to play in the previous iteration of SPL (i.e. ADV, DPP, and BW). Since the Wolfpack put GaryTheGengar into SV, this makes their lineup invalid. Although the hosts believe this mistake was not done maliciously, it must be rectified in a way that is fair to the BIGs.

Result: The BIGs managers have consented to GaryTheGengar being substituted out for this mistake instead of having their entire lineup reverted; this also means that he will not be allowed to substitute back into any of his eligible tiers for the remainder of this week. We do not intend for this to become a precedent, as the host team is actively working on improving our lineup verification process, but we believe that with the consent of both parties, and this being an honest mistake, this decision doesn't put either party at a significant advantage.

RE: Cicada

Cicada was subbed into SM OU immediately prior to playing during Week 6, despite his signup listing it as a tier not played, which is used to define a player's tier eligibility. This error was not caught by either team or the hosts before or after the game was played. Cicada was then slotted into SM OU again for Week 7 when the Scooters submitted an invalid lineup and their Week 7 lineup was reverted to their Week 6 lineup. This was a host error, as the reversion at that time should have been to the Scooter's original Week 6 lineup rather than their lineup at the end of the week.

Result: As the Scooters broke the tier lock rule, the Week 6 win of Cicada will instead be converted into a dead game. Additionally, the Scooter's Week 8 lineup will be reverted back to their original Week 6 submission. We do not believe this case mirrors the BIGs vs Wolfpack case, as that was caught immediately and dealt with a retain opting to play a new gen OU. We errored on the side that theirs was a genuine mistake, while Cicada's is explicitly written, so we are deciding to keep with the precedent set for invalid lineups. After further discussion among the host team and the relevant managers, Cicada will be forced to sub out as he is not allowed to play SM OU and he will not be allowed to sub in for the rest of the week. No other changes will be made to the Scooter's initial Week 8 lineup.

RE: valuez

The TD team has been approached with incontrovertible evidence that valuez requested and received assistance in the form of calculations during their Week 6 game against Relous. While the calculations given were not provided in a timely manner and were inaccurate, this still violates our rules against ghosting.

valuez will be tourbanned for 3 months and will no longer be able to participate in SPL XIV.

RE: TJ / bbeeaa / mikmer

TJ, bbeeaa, and mikmer have been forum banned for reasons unrelated to Smogon Premier League. In accordance with current tour policy, they will be suspended from SPL for the duration of their forum bans. For all of bbeeaa, TJ, and mikmer, they will be unable to continue participating in SPL.

The Alpha Ruiners must provide a substitute to replace their banned starters by tonight, 3/8/2023, at 11:59PM GMT -5. Additionally, due to the Alpha Ruiners falling below the player minimum, and mikmer being suspended for reasons outside of SPL, they are allowed to pick up a replacement player by the end of the week. The replacement player may not play until Week 9.

RE: Spl4sh

Spl4sh has been forum banned for reasons unrelated to Smogon Premier League. He will be unable to continue participating in SPL XIV.

The BIGs must provide a substitute for their banned player within the next 24 hours.

RE: Ewin

Ewin has been banned following the usage of an inappropriate alt name in his match against kythr. Since this ban happened after the match was over, and his ban was unrelated to competitive integrity, the match will stand as a win for Cryonicles. However, he will be unable to continue participating in SPL XIV.

RE: Skypenguin vs London Beats

Skypenguin showed up at scheduled time (Sunday, 5:00pm GMT-4), and upon realizing London Beats wasn't online, promptly tagged the Scooters. However, the Scooters were unable to find London Beats or an appropriate substitute within the 30 minute window in order to get the game completed. Due to this, Skypenguin will get the activity win over London Beats.
