Welcome to the sixteenth installment of Smogon Premier League!

The host team has already started working on this iteration to provide you with the SPL experience you deserve! We have tons of content and community-driven events in the works and will be using this thread to keep you updated.

Your hosting team consists of an esteemed group of individuals lead by Dave: Ticken, Vertigo, goldmason, and myself. Also, Larry.

Your media team consists of another esteemed group, namely Maia, teal6, -Tsunami-, Dave, Tony, and Star. Also, Larry.

I just hope all ten teams have fun!​
 
Hi all! As UT alluded to above, we are excited to kick things off a bit early in an effort to launch as much content as possible. I have two items to announce to kick things off!


The SPL Prediction Tournament is back - and with a cash prize!

Prior to Week 1, the host team will be posting signups for users to participate in a full-scale SPL Prediction contest that lasts the entirety of the tournament, and we encourage everyone within the Smogon community to participate!

Not confident in your tournament knowledge? No problem. We will be launching tons of SPL content leading to up to the start of the tournament, detailing everything you need to know in order to be on your A game for the contest! Stay tuned for further details on sign-ups, rules, and additional information.

Oh, and one more thing: the prize-pool is already at $250.00 for this contest and donations are most certainly welcome, and, while not a requirement by any means, please know that any contribution large or small is so much appreciated by the entire community!

Note: If you'd like to pitch-in and provide a donation to this prize-pool, please DM me on the forums or on Discord at stone_cold for instructions.

Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be providing various topics for you to fill a form out and contribute to!

Our first topic will be Iconic Moments in SPL History. We value the opinion of every community member and urge new users and veterans alike to participate in this!

You can provide your input by filling out this form and answering the questions! Don't be shy; every opinion counts!

To every community member who participates in this upcoming SPL season, whether it's via content, predications, website contributions, media contributions, or just general discussion participation in Discord, thank you so much. We do this for you!
 
In order to properly prepare all SPL viewers for the SPL Prediction Tournament and provide a level playing field among all participants, we will be providing tons of tournament coverage focusing on not only past SPL editions but some of the most marquee moments and performances of all time. To get us started, we have a double header for you!

Reminder that the Prediction Tournament has a cash prize, and all donations are welcome and appreciated! Contact Dave if you wish to participate.

The Best SPL Performances

This SPL, all games will feature SPL Mode, which adds a cool background and music to SPL games. This will bring more hype to the games in general and help provide consistent visuals for our Twitch streaming and YouTube coverage. Some details:
  • It will be required for all games; it is not optional.
    • Any game played without SPL Mode will not be featured in any Smogon media.
  • SPL Mode can be set by any host, manager, tournament director, and select volunteers.
  • Misusing SPL Mode on non-SPL games will result in an infraction.
I just hope all ten teams have fun.
