After 2 months of several hours of Pokémoning, we get to the part everyone has been waiting for. First of all, I'd like to thank our hosts, sheet owner Ticken, and our players that made this tournament run as smoothly as it did. I'd also like to thank Blazenix for taking up the art for these playoffs and flawlessly killing it.

From now on, the sixteen top competitors will now fight for their crack at the pink trophy! Congratulations to each of you for your success and good luck in the playoffs!

If winning the prestigious pink trophy isn't motivation enough for you to win the playoffs, we are also offering a number of prizes this season. For starters, $150 will be spread across the top two finishers in the playoffs: the winner will get $100, while the runner-up gets $50. In addition, the champion will also get their choice of a PS! custom avatar or inactive PS! account.

If you are unfamiliar with Smogon Tour's format, from this round forward each pairing will face off in a best of three series in the SV, SS and SM tiers. The higher seed picks the first tier that will be played and the loser of the first game picking the following tier. Win 2 out of 3 and you are one step closer to being crowned the winner as you advance.

Before heading to playoffs proper, we have three players tied with 39 points for the last two spots. Therefore, our first order of business is a Round Robin set between them, where the players that go 2-0 or 1-1 advance to the playoffs. The player that goes 2-0 will be able to choose their seed for playoffs.

Now, onto the matchups:

If the tiebreak resets again, they will play as many rounds as it takes on Sunday to define our two last playoffs players.

Some prediction yap cuz the thread is empty af. Not gonna predict series w the bros though bc doing that seems distasteful

1. hellom vs 16. Giannis Antetokommo-o
This is a really hype series actually as idt these two have ever faced in a tournament while being two highly respected players. Hellom had a very impressive stour poff debut with the #1 seed while Ant has been a top stour performer for a while now. Hellom’s prowess in the older gens is critical here as he’s more favored in SV mainly

8. SoulWind vs 9. Storm Zone
Sw’s had strong results in tournaments with SV but I feel like his team choices are lacking sometimes and he relies mostly on outperforming in game. I think Storm should likely take SV, Sw takes SM, and then it’ll come down to SS. Storm’s team choices are usually quite strong in SV and he obv plays enough to be conscious of every Pokemon in the tier, so I favor him if he doesn’t grief himself bringing Scream Tail Sun. SM Sw just has way more resources and way more experience and Storm’s teams are much weaker in this gen. In SS, Storm actually builds some pretty sheist teams and Sw is clearly an SS farmer man, so the matchup here is what decides it. In playing ability, favor Sw

4. xavgb vs 13. GeniusX
To me, xav is favored in 9 + 8 with his wide range of experiences in these two tiers that honestly kind of eclipses xing’s. Played a lot of 8 in SCL and now WCOP with solid results and obviously has a deep catalog in 9. That being said, xing is a strong player who picks up new tiers pretty quickly, but I’m just not sure the knowledge gap is close enough for matchup picking. Xing should definitely take SM playing something solid and a bit less Experimental than in SPL. If he can swing himself decent enough matchups in 9 + 8, I can see him aggressively outplaying xav and taking one of those. Just gotta be cognizant of how much gas he’s using cuz xav is no slouch

5. Fc vs 12. JustFranco
Franco has really leveled up this past year in every aspect, originally being the guy loading up quag stall in OLT and getting shamoned. He became the hero of Argentina taking xav down twice with great results in many of the tournaments he’s played. Fc is a solid player, but I was really not a fan of his SV team choice back when he played SPL. I’d assume SS is favored for Fc as I recall him playing it somewhat a lot and then SM is a toss up. Should be a close one

2. Ox the Fox vs 15. Baddy
Ox has been defying the SS one trick allegations with a very solid Stour seeding. Many thought he was still washed until he pulled back a very strong SPL performance this year including a finals TB win, so SS is absolutely favored towards him. Baddy’s an up and comer who’s surprised a lot of people, but his SV choices seem a bit lazy at times. I think he’s still favored in the tier, but wonder if there are some obvious-ish trends in his selection. SM I would likely favor Ox, but both have limited SM experience prob. Ox just been really strong lately

7. 3d vs 10. ima
maledetto genio x per aver reso possibile questo scontro

3. Santu vs 14. Zokuru
Tbh, no hate to Zok, but he is the exact kind of player that I’d expect Santu to farm in poffs. Off vibes alone, just seems like a matchup result I’d expect. That being said, Zok’s team selection could be much better than the Tuz, so we’ll see

6. weird mon vs 11. Luigi
Somehow, Luigi manages to show up in this tournament alone and I respect that. I expect him to win but I’m rooting for weird mon

As always, rooting for some sheist games and GL. We’ll be covering these series if the scheduled times are all listed somewhere
