I hope that both of you realize that this type of response:
1. Doesn't make sense
2. Is inapplicable to the subject of the thread
3. Is incredibly unimaginative and shows a dearth of mental acuity in the poster
4. Was already anticipated by me when I created this thread, meaning: your behavior fits entirely inside of my head, and was considered by me to be so non-noteworthy that I did not even bother to preempt your responses in my original message.
The first poster here is right, of course: in theory, the "joke" he's alluding to is beneath him; it's beneath all ensouled humans. To prove that he's of that class though, he has to do something new, something that he probably has not done so far on Smogon: post something that's actually funny.

Anyways, for those who have approached this topic in good faith and spirit, please ignore this digression and continue with the thread.

this thread is full of negativity, so let me share a success story with you instead.

there was once a user called "Aurora". by 2023, that user's username was getting a bit long in the tooth. it was behind the times. a relic of when she chose it in 2013. but Aurora saw what was happening. she saw that it was time to adapt, to change, to move on.

so in june 2023, she had the presence of mind to change her name to "aurora". and i think we can all say that this name will stand the test of time for a while. look at how all the letters are the same height, for example. it looks much more streamlined than "Aurora". it also promotes unity among the letters - there's no longer a random uppercase letter in there killing the vibe.

in closing, i think we can say with confidence that this is an excellent example of a username that was ageing poorly being replaced by something fresh and new.
