Welcome to the 8th instance of Smogon Wi-Fi's Secret Santa! Previously started by Eisenherz, then continued by Ullar, TyVip, Lego, Light Sanctity, Tatertot, and now me, this is an event where everyone collaborates by making nice in-game Pokémon for a randomly picked partner that will be announced later on.

How does this work?
- Sign-ups are open from now to December 10th at 10:00 PM GMT -6. Signing up is as easy as filling out the form and posting in this thread! Please pay special attention to the last five questions as those are the most important.
- Once the sign-ups close, everyone will privately get their designated partner by Smogon DMs to develop a gift to, and will have until December 24th of this year at 10:00 PM GMT -6 to get their gift ready! If you're struggling to find inspiration, read their answers to the survey, lurk their forum/Discord posts, or have a look at what people made for past iterations of this giveaway! Your gift doesn't necessarily have to be especially rare or valuable, what matters most is that you put in the effort to make something you think they'll like.
- Keep me updated on the status of the gift! If you can't get something together in time, that's fine, just be sure to let me know in anticipation for any unforeseen circumstances so I can look for a substitute Santa.

- Once Christmas is here, I'll publically announce the pairings in this thread! You'll then have a week to organize giving and receiving your gifts. Feel free to show off what you gave or received in this thread!

3. What is your favorite type of Poké Ball? : I’m a fan of all apricorn balls, but my biggest thing is that the ball matches the colour scheme of the Pokémon.

1. What is your favorite Pokémon type(s)? : Water, Steel, Ice.

2. What is your favorite Pokémon region or game? : My fav game is PLA! I like the unova games and HGSS a lot too. My favourite region is probably Hisui, but Sinnoh is also pretty great. Although i HEAVILY dislike the Hoenn games for various reasons, i think the region itself is pretty cool too. I really hate Paldea and the SV games as a whole.

3. What is your favorite type of Poké Ball? : It's like when designing a UI... the correct colors to use depend on what it's going to be used in. In this case, i like any pokeball as long as it fits the pokemon/color theme/etc it's on! However, i have a particular distaste for the Great Ball. To a lesser extent, the Beast Ball too.

4. What is your favorite color? : Somewhere around #730b3a (dark rouge)... I generally like darker tones.

5. Do you prefer cute or powerful Pokémon? : Both!

6. Which Pokémon nature best describes you? : Lonely

7. Name a Pokémon, a typing, or a Poké Ball you dislike : At first, i really couldn't decide on which pokemon i thought was the most AIDS-inducing on sight, but then i figured no one's gonna jail me for listing a bunch.

8. Do you prefer to play Pokémon competitively or casually? : Competitively... but mostly because the new games have 0 substantial content to them. I enjoy things like the battle frontier, filling the dex out, dress-up, etc; but i do think i like battling above that regardless.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: I don't want you to use these answers as a direct guide to make my Pokemon, I'd like a Pokemon that can grow on me, my newer teams are Pokemon I don't like and the always become some of my favourites. Also, I'd like a pokemon built up from an older game, even if it's just caught in Black for example, then brought up the the new cames so it has the 'Caught In Unova' Summary, that'd make it all the better!
