So, yeah. That kind of says most of it, right there. I don't know if there's already been a thread for this, or if there's somewhere better to put it (didn't look like it) but yeah. I used to play this rather often, but my former nation is old as the hills so I'm just going to let it die off.
It's very casual stuff, you get a few issues you can resolve in your nation per day, and the results show up on your nation's home page the next day. Be aware that the result is almost always played to the biggest extreme possible. I find it to be a fun way to pass a couple minutes, and you can set the frequency of issues coming in, from two per day to one per month or something.
We have a region for all Smogon players of NationStates, known as "The United States of Smogon". It was founded by this here OP, Silver Scrapes.

Important: If you would like to join the US of S, the password is pikachu. You are required to type pikachu in to join this region. I also strongly recommend you click Settings, go to Preferences next to Telegrams and set all telegrams to Block All
NationStates within a region can elect representatives as they grow larger, and (I believe daily) some aspect of all nations will be compared and all nations within a region ranked from 1 to 10. For example, if the comparison is for largest military, all nations will have their militaries compared and I'm sure you get the idea.
Things like wars and such are not possible except through roleplaying on their forums, which honestly I have never looked into because I haven't done a forum roleplay in like two years and didn't feel like doing any more.
So, yeah. Pretty casual game, just a thing to pass the time, and I wanted to see if I could get anyone else playing. There's no purchases of anything involved ever, which is nice.
