Hi everyone! I'm SMB, or SableyeMyBae, and I'm one of the players who got the chance to participate in the latest edition of SSD. This was my first big team tour and I had been looking forward to prove myself on this new environment for a few months. Before going with the teams, I'd like to give a s/o to KyleCole for joining the team chat and giving awesome advice on how to prepare and how to deal with the pressure on this kind of tours, it really meant a lot :toast:

Iirc for this game I 100% wanted to use bulldoze kommo-o + weakness policy diancie since i noticed emiforbes used substitute on many mons (sometimes even 3 mons on the same team) so kommo-o would make him think twice about setting up subs, and i could see a potential diancie late game sweep since he didn't use metagross or amoonguss a lot (he actually brought both to our game ;-;). Bulldoze on kommo-o triggers diancie's weakness policy while also providing more speed control. Specs gyarados might seem like an odd choice but i think it fits perfectly on this team since i needed a second switch in to metagross, a ground immunity, another rain check and that could deal with steel types.
This is the only time I used a team i didn't like, it went pretty well during test games but overall i didn't like it, and i felt like i wasn't going to win with this, which was what ended up happening ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Honestly, I didn't know what to expect from lunar, i made a ton of team drafts (10 to be exact https://gyazo.com/26932c699ab9c1c61513e84538dad78f) and ended up using an old team frania and i built for winter ssnl and that i only used in dpl, i don't think there's much to say about this team, it's pretty standard and i lost the game turn 1 because of a horrible play, bop.

This one is easily my favourite team i built during snake, i really, really like how it works. Vs ezrael I was adamant about using zard y + band zygarde, I noticed he was using stax teams and i thought these 2 wallbreakers paired with many ways of speed control could easily break through most of his most recent teams. I tried many mons for the 6th slot (zeraora, p2, thundurus-therian) although one of the reasons i picked chansey was so i could have rocks on this team since i wanted to play that fini set and i needed defog somewhere so i used lando for this.

For this week I wanted to play offensive milotic, this icium set was something i came up with during summer ssnl and that i never got the chance to show and i thought it could get some unexpected kills vs slow lando, non scarf bulu or zapdos, which for what i could notice, were some mons embcpt seemed to like a lot. Energy ball lele might seem weird but this team is 6-0 by gastrodon and it was getting a decent amount of usage back then. I think I played ok this game so I wasn't mad at me after losing, embcpt played perfectly on this one.

This team is based on a team stax used previously in snake, i just changed chansey for seed kyub (to have a more offensive pressure and something to hit zapdos), and some spreads and sets to improve some match ups that wasn't nice looking, like milo or full trick room (see; av final gambit victini)

After building a gengar - kommo-o team where the best sixth mon i could find was manaphy, I decided to rebuild it with kyurem black and i came up with this, pretty standard team apart from scarf lando-i, that gives an extra check to manectric, gengar and zard and works amazing with my own mega gengar.

This game was really special to me since I've always looked up to stax as a player and, if we don't count week 1, this was the first time i could go positive in snake so i took this week really seriously. Milo was the first thing that came up to my mind to use vs him because he run double intimidate on most teams, although I changed my mind because he used chansey, manectric or zapdos a lot. Lurantis tho, seemed really good vs him and his mega/lando/incineroar/kartana/fini/chansey kind of teams so I built this semiroom to make a good use of it. Non min speed z earth power Necrozma is great here to lure incineroar or metagross and kill annoying mons like volcanion.

I didn't have a lot of time to build on this week, I just knew I wanted a team to play more aggressively than the last time I played vs him. I watched frania using these same 6 mons while laddering for dlt but on a balance team (cm fini, dd zygarde, etc) so I had this idea of rebuilt it to be an offense team that were balance looking, so i used modest mega gengar paired with double tailwind, volt switch zapdos, scarf fini, band zygarde... I really liked this team and I was playing fine, tbh I think I only made 1 misplay but it was huge and there was a mega gengar involved so it costed me the game.

Ezrael wasn't running proper trick room checks imo on the teams he was using so I decided to exploit that and play full trick room vs him, with some not really used mons and sets to catch him off guard. Meloetta was a mon i really liked to use on tr teams when marshadow was on the tier, i also think z tr + sleep move is one of the more threatening techs that tr teams have but i don't like to run double steel (bronzong + stakataka) because these kind of tr teams are really band zygarde weak. Also, meloetta can easily set up tr vs gengar so this is a mon I 100% wanted to use. Slowking set was something nido-rus suggested in dpl and i hadn't used since then, I thought it could work well here to lure bulu and do decent dmg to fini.



I feel like i didn't go too much in deep about the teambuilding aspect on the description of the teams but if you want to know why I chose a pokemon or a set feel free to pm either here or on discord.
I'm really happy about my performance on this tour and how things went overall, even if I think I could have had a better start and I regret about some plays and team choices, I managed to finish positive and have a 4-1 record on Stage 2 which is pretty important for me.
