[OVERVIEW]

Solrock is overwhelmed by its competition as a Stealth Rock setter from Pokemon such as Regirock, Mesprit, and Bronzor. This is all majorly because of Solrock's mediocre stats compared to their great bulk and other attributes like better defensive typings. While its Rock / Psychic typing may seem good at first, the two occasionally contrast and make Solrock unable to reliably switch into certain Pokemon Regirock and Mesprit can like Skuntank and Poliwrath.

[SET]
name: Stealth Rock
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Rock Slide
move 3: Will-O-Wisp
move 4: Morning Sun
item: Colbur Berry / Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
ability: Levitate
nature: Impish
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def

[SET COMMENTS]

Solrock should be used as a switch-in to physical hits from Pokemon like Kangaskhan and Stoutland and set up Stealth Rock. Its main niche over its competition is in its access to Will-O-Wisp and reliable recovery, but otherwise you're better off using Pokemon like Regirock, Mesprit, and Bronzor for their better bulk and typings as well as other aspects such as Mesprit's access to U-turn.

Solrock should be used as a switchin for physical hits from Pokemon like Kangaskhan and Golem and set up Stealth Rock (mention stoutland here as that's probably the most relevant mon that you wall). Its main niche over its competition is in its access to Will-O-Wisp and reliable recovery, but otherwise you're better off using Pokemon like Regirock, Mesprit, and Bronzor for their better bulk (and typings) and other aspects such as Mesprit's access to U-turn.

(instead of saying in general, actually list things that the aforementioned mons have going for them. think of better movepools, resistances, bulk, etc) While its Rock/Psychic typing may seem good at first, the two occasionally contrast and make Solrock unable to reliably switch into certain Pokemon Regirock can like Skuntank and Mesprit can like Poliwrath.
