ORAS OU Somewhat Snorlax-Centered, Sweeper Department Effective, may need improvement

Snorlax (M) @ Chesto Berry

Ability: Immunity

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

Impish Nature

- Rest

- Curse

- Crunch

- Amnesia

I wanted this team to be set up basically around Snorlax, so a few Pokémon on here (Shuckle) are mainly just like reconaissance/annoyance for the other team so I can get a feel for what he has, while also wearing him down some. Personally it is my favorite, so I've tried some different movesets like Stockpile/Belly Drum, and an all-out attack type set, but I ultimately settled on this because of the coverage of Attack and both defense stats, while also dealing solid damage with Crunch (which I ultimately chose over Body Slam because of Ghost coverage). Once set up it works brilliantly

Swampert (M) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch

Swampert I wanted to serve as one of my two setup Pokémon. It gets in and is usually effective in getting the stealth rock set, barring any unexpected grass moves like Grass Knot, which I've run into a couple times. After the stealth rock, I bulked it in Attack to hopefully get as much of a dent in the opponent as I can.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Gyro Ball
- Spikes

Clearly Ferrothorn is a setup. After experimentation, I found that putting Swampert first with Stealth Rock is more effective since I can then come in with Ferrothorn and put down spikes. Also, considering it's only weakness is to Fire, it can stay in and tank a lot of different moves, while also staying around with Leech Seed and Protect, simultaneously dealing lots of damage with Gyro Ball.

Shuckle @ Lum Berry
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Impish Nature
- Toxic
- Infestation
- Rest
- Shell Smash

Shuckle I threw on as sort of a helping hand to Snorlax. It's massives defenses, the Contrary/Shell Smash combo, along with the Rest and Lum Berry keep it around for a while, allowing it to really do some chipping with Toxic and Infestation, while also playing the field for when to throw out Snorlax.

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Thunder Punch
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat

Infernape is the Physical Sweeper. High EV train in Speed gives it an edge over a lot of other Pokémon, and Earthquake and Thunder Punch give it solid type coverage. Concerned with this one as it is often susceptible to even some neutral hits.

Alakazam (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Focus Blast
- Energy Ball
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam

Special Sweeper. The very definition of Special Sweeper. Also serves as a solid revenge killer, given it's massive speed, and the choice specs on top give it even more power. Obviously could be walled out by a dark type, which gives reason for focus blast and the other moves for type coverage.

Strap yourself in, this team is going to need some work...

Snorelax - When laddering you will notice that snorelax works less and less. It's not a good pokemon. Try chansey, it's a great stall poke and it can actually handle half of the current meta. If you attempt to make the arguement that it's a good pokemon, here are some reasons why it's not.
•It can only run 1 attacking move and it can run out of PP and loose
•Every team has a taunt user
•Critical hits exist, and bypass stat boosts
•Mixed sets can kill it before it can set up to max
Chansey also handles status quite nicely, so keep that in mind

Shuckle - It shares the same basic reasons to why it's bad as snorelax and I wouldn't recommend a "sweeper" set for any team. However, I could recommend a defensive set for setting up sticky web, stealth rocks ect. Your team lacks hazards, which nearly every team needs.

Swampert - I think you should run a roar set, rather then the current set you are running. It's the kind of thing a new player like you would enjoy the hell out of! I remember my first time using a roar/whirlwind + rocks user (hippowdon) And I had so much fun! You could use Hippowdon over swampert, as I beleve it would probably do better at it's role

Infernape - I'm going to be honest with you, infernape is outclassed in every way by keldeo. It gets a physical attacking move to destroy special walls and a high damaging STAB move. (Hydro pump) I recommend a life orb on this set, as you are a relativly new player, and should have more freedom on your sets.

Alakazam - It's not a bad set, but I would never use a specs alakazam. Especially when you don't have a mega, and have the freedom of using MEGA ALAKAZAM! It's much more effective then normal alakazam, evan with choice specs! There isn't a reason you shouldn't be running it with mega stone. Alternativly, you could call this a stall team and run mega slowbro, but I wouldn't recommend it.

There you go, bud! I'm sure you will get some rates in the near future where you will get more proffesional advise, like replacing more pokemon. But for now, this is the finished team: http://pastebin.com/qGK4Pags
It's not perfect, and don't expect to ladder to #1 quite yet, but it's something!

Hi! I have some things to say about your team.
-Definitely change the spread on Shuckle. EV's change each stat by a set amount, so you want to invest more in Shuckle's HP so it can take more hits. I did some calculations by pitting your set against a 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD Shuckle, having them both use Origin Pulse at +6, and recording the results:
4HP/252Def/252SpD Shuckle took 35.1% on average
252HP/128Def/128SpD Shuckle took 27.85% on average
You can also take 2 Seismic Tosses from Chansey.
About Infernape, I disagree with intellectual potato because Keldeo can't learn powerful Fire moves, usually runs a special set, and struggles with Electric types, which are usually frail enough to fall to Infernape's STABs. You already have a Water type as well, Swampert. Infernape can also use Stealth Rocks to its advantage because it can force out many common Pokemon (Ferrothorn, some variants of Excadrill, Weavile, etc.) You might want to replace Earthquake because it doesn't hit much.
The team as a whole: I see one main problem with this team and that is that it's too passive. If you're not sure what I mean by that, take this example:
-Cloyster is a UU Pokemon that deserves its tiering, because with a single Shell Smash, it can devastate entire teams by doubling its Attack and Speed, and then destroying the opposition with Rock Blasts and Icicle Spears that always hit 5 times due to Skill Link.
So what am I trying to say here? Cloyster only needs one Shell Smash, and after that, it's a huge threat to your team. What you want to do is apply pressure, because Cloyster can easily come in on an asleep Shuckle or Snorlax (or even an awake one) after your berry has been used up and proceed to sweep. I'm not suggesting that you develop a counter to Cloyster, because setup sweepers like it exist in many forms, including Belly Drum Azumarill/Slurpuff, Volcarona's Quiver Dance, Serperior, etc. Instead, as intellectual potato suggested, you need a way to prevent these opponents from setting up. This problem can be remedied by giving Shuckle Encore, and giving Snorlax something to do. Try this Rest Talk Snorlax:
Snorlax @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Thick Fat (you're going to be resting a lot so I feel that the extra resistance will be more helpful)
EV's: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def <--Snorlax is sort of like a reverse Shuckle--its HP is high enough that it doesn't need investment, but its Defense is much lower.
Adamant Nature
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Power-Up Punch
-Crunch/Whirlwind
This set is pretty simple--spam Power-Up Punch until you take lots of damage, then use Rest. Throw a Whirlwind at those setup sweepers, or use Crunch to hit a Ghost type (the only relevant one is Gengar, though, which can be easily worn down). Sleep Talk ensures that you can rest more than once without being setup bait.
Shuckle: Give it Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpD
Careful Nature
-Sticky Web
-Infestation
-Toxic
-Encore
This set is also designed to annoy enemies. Encore helps to get free switches, and Sticky Web slows down those enemies that like to set up (except Serperior: Due to its Contrary ability, Serperior gets a speed boost instead of a drop. Luckily Ferrothorn can still wall it, but beware HP Fire.)
The given EVs allow Shuckle to survive 2 Stone Edges from Jolly Landorus-T.
Ferrothorn, Alakazam, and Swampert look ok, but one thing you might want to consider is Mega Swampert. Your team already has a 4x grass resist (Ferrothorn) and given that you already have Stealth Rocks in Infernape, you can use Waterfall / EQ / Ice Punch / Rain Dance for good coverage.
This doesn't mean you should give up on the Mega Alakazam, though--It has tons of power, and provides offensive support for your primarily physically based team.
TL;DR
Stealth Rock>EQ on Infernape
Tweak spreads on Shuckle + Snorlax
Try out Mega Swampert
Thanks for reading my rate! Snorlax is a very versatile Pokemon, so don't be afraid to try new things.
