After much trial and error I think Ive built a viable rain team.
Pelipper @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- U-turn
- Hurricane
- Roost
- Weather Ball
Pretty standard Peli. Tera grund to tank the occasional thunderbolt from valiant and surprise ohko in return. Open to changing the tera nature. Also considering runnung surf/hydro pump over weatherball so ninetails and ttar cant come in for free.
Ludicolo @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Giga Drain
- Ice Beam
- Encore
This thing is a monster. My primary special sweeper and insurance against screen teams and late game gambit. Ludicolo also tends to serve as my stall breaker with tera water hydro pump doing respectable damage to blissey and encore forcing it out so it doesnt waste softboiled pp, allowing me to go for a potentially game winning read on whatever is coming in. Glowking doesnt like to tank tera water hydro. Even most resists are hit hard. Ice beam provides excellent coverage, nailing hydrapple which can be problematic for this team.
Iron Treads @ Assault Vest
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Iron Head
- Earthquake
- Volt Switch
Treads serves as a specially defensive monster and the only thing stopping kyurem from going crazy. Iron head is specifically for kyurem although occasionally it is nice to hit ival and enamorous as well. Hazard removal can sometimes be nice but for the most part my team functions under hazards. Rocks can be annoying for peli but webs are inconsequential since barraskewda since outspeeds most things even with webs up.
Landorus-Therian @ Choice Specs
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Weather Ball
- Sandsear Storm
- U-turn
Nobody expects this but it punches holes in enemy team. Corviknignt seems like a reasonable switch in to lando and normally it would be but it gets nuked by weatherball. Balloon gold and pech suffer the same fate. Dozo is not safe either. Waterpon has to be careful about switching into sludge bomb. The occasional burns from sandsear storm are just gravy.
Barraskewda @ Choice Band
Ability: Swift Swim
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Liquidation
- Flip Turn
- Poison Jab
- Close Combat
Just standard barra here. Nothing special. I opted for choice band and tera water for breaking power. Barra is often breaking pex itself. I have also considered dropping liquidation for tera blast electric to hit pex and alo more reliably.
Basculegion-F @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Tera Blast
Another special sweeper as well as a handy ghost type for the team. This comes in clutch very frequently vs banded dnite being immune to extreme speed. It also hits like a truck with amazing coverage.
I do think theres room for improvement here. The addition of basculegion has made the offensive power of the team absolutely ridiculous but at the cost of a harder time vs the stall matchup. My primary answer to stall was tornadus-T who was previosly on the team before bascu.
Tornadus-T @ life orb
Tera nature: Steel
- nasty plot
- hurricane
- weatherball
- taunt
This performed very well into stall but found it lacking vs balance and offensive teams since it was harder to find setup opportunity.
